I'm 55 and actually saw Rick a few years ago. One of the best concerts ever! He can so rock with his newer music! I love that when he sang his old music he played videos from way back and even footage from General Hospital. We had awesome seats and I loved it. I don't usually buy T-shirts after but this was a no-brainer. This was one of the best experiences ever and I'm so glad he's going strong. I had such a crush on him when I was barely a teenager.
Nothing better than the 80s an amazing era of time to grow up In. the music, the fashion, the celebrities. back in time when women rocked the fashion and men were men never a question who was who. Just saying

As great as Jessie's Girl is, I would sure love to catch songs like this more on the radio today. You'd think that Rick only had one hit and NOTHING could be further from the truth. He had many Top 40 hits. "Love Somebody" went all the way to #5 on the charts.
Same can be said for Kansas. All they ever do is play is Carry on Wayward Son and act as if they had no other hit songs. Would love it if they played some of his other hit songs like Love Somebody, Souls, and Don't Talk to Strangers.
People who think "Jessie's Girl" is Rick's only song probably weren't around in the 80's. Rick had a lot of great songs. "State of the Heart" is my personal favorite, but this song, "Don't Talk to Strangers," "I've Done Everything for You," and "Affair of the Heart" are all great. And then there's "Bruce," which not only rocks, it's also really funny.
Phoenix partied like it was 1985 yesterday. Loved him when I was 13…fast forward 38 years later, watching his high octane show here yesterday-a set list of 15+ hits- he entertained like no other! A rock solid performance and personality, Rick Springfield certainly does need to be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame❤️
Though he'll never get much artistic "cred" from critics and peers, he's got one of the deepest and most underrated music catalogs of any artist from his era.
This song is almost 40 years old. I was 23 years old and in the US Air Force when this came out. Now I'm 62 after a wonderful, exciting and successful life that allowed me to retire at 48 years old. As I sit here smoking a cigar and sipping some fine single malt, I'm still rockin' and cherishing all those memories of 1984. It's been a heck of a ride!

It's strange how I haven't heard this song in almost 35 years but still remember the lyrics. Probably because I listened to this 1,000 times back in '84.
Me too... I remember the lyrics to every song from 80:s early 90's I love love love all the different genres from that era We were blessed great music with people that actually had talent and could play instruments awesome movies and no technology to interrupt our fun time if you didn't talk on the phone to your friends before you left the house there was no way to get in touch with you and I actually missed that. Never given the credit he deserves for his killer Guitar playing! Love Rick Springfield, he never got the memo he was supposed to Marry me!! Definitely deserves to be in the RR Hall of Fame.
Last year...after 40 yrs of dreaming about it...I met this man. The best thing I could think of to say when I looked into his eyes was "I have been waiting for this since I was 9 yrs old". I felt so dumb but he was so nice. He said Oh sweetie, wrapped me in a hug and kissed the top of my head. Such a nice guy to be so nice as it was after his show and you could see ghe exhaustion in his face. I will always love you Rick ❤❤
I remember around 1983 when I used to get a magazine with current musicians and discovered what he looked like. Being from a very small Texas town we didn’t have a barbershop so I took the page with his picture on it to the local beauty shop and said that’s how I wanted to get my haircut. That was the beginning of my mullet stage and it still brings back great memories. Then around ‘85 I was lucky enough to see him live and Corey Hart opened up for him. Do y’all remember “I wear my sunglasses at night “? The 80’s was an awesome time to grow up in!
I remember back in the early/mid 80's I was probably around 10 years old at Six Flags with my family.. we were in this shop and this group of really cute older teenaged girls were looking thru the poster rack and they came across Rick Spring field... they were like dogs in heat... Im 49 years old and I'll never forget their reaction to seeing his poster... on a side note me and my kid seen Rick a few years ago in Branson Mo.... I told my kid knew nothing about Rick.. but I told him how cool Rick was. When we left, he was like DAM you were right he is one cool guy.
I actually saw this movie in the theater - 1983!! I was a freshman in college ,three hours from home. My GF and I saw RS in concert that year. She LOVED HIM - (what girl didn't, right?) First major concert I had ever attended. I was BLOWN AWAY! Incredibly enough, I STILL HAVE THE T-SHIRT!! ............. unbelievable.........
I started high school in 1979. I finished college in 1989. Yeah - the "six year" college plan. I was a slow learner. But I would have NEVER made it though school with out .... **MTV**!!! And it was right about the end of 1989 when the music videos started waning, taking back seat to the likes of "Road Rules" and the game show, "Remote Control". Remember that?? I remember like it was yesterday, and yet, it might as well be a million years ago. . . . . unreal. . . . . . .
I agree with you.... I had to come here to think about those days when I was a teen, lol. Not young anymore, about to be 50 on May 11th, 2019. Love you Rick, from a 69' baby....... 80's rocked 🎸
This song is the reason my kids watched me freak when Vince Vicente showed up on Supernatural. Loved this song. Loved Rick just like anyone with eyes or ears did in the 80's. Watching him on the tv screen again made me so happy & very nostalgic.
If I could just go back to this time in the 80's when my mom and I would listen to this music every morning while I got ready for school...I don't listen to any music from today it all sucks!
Not all of it sucks there is still every now and again good singles or albums......But the 80's just had a whole load of good to very good singles and albums
There was no internet (not really), and no Sirius XM and all that. All we had was radio and 3 channels on TV :p (well, I guess by this time we had like 30 channels)...and no talk radio. Everyone listend to radio, music HAD to be good.
Ummm - we actually had MTV. You know - back when they actually played video music? And you'd sit in front of it all day long because it was absolutely the coolest thing you ever saw? EVER!!
This smash came out when I was a little prick-ass music head of 13/14. I bought into the “wisdom” of the butt-rock times and denigrated Rick Springfield for a few months…while secretly kind of liking it…This is absolutely picture-perfect ‘80s arena power-pop and I would give damn near anything to write something as great as this.
The absolute lust of my life! I just saw Rick Springfield and REO Speedwagon last night (10-24-24) in Nampa, Idaho and it was an AMAZING concert!! They put on one helluva show!! They're in their early and mid 70's and STILL running all over the stage entertaining the crowd. They look and sound as AWESOME as ever! Rick is STILL SEXY AS ALL HELL!!
Rick Springfield was my first concert I was 15 years old. Loved him then and love him still today. Sad the teenagers now have no idea what good music is.
I just love Rick! I started watching him on General Hospital as Dr. Noah Drake! I love him as an actor but I think I love him more as a rock star. He is definitely underrated.
I can't believe I met Rick Springfield!! 💗 However, I Was so nervous I didn't even introduce myself... 😑 He seemed very chill and down to earth! 💖 What a Great concert with him and Richard Marx!!

Rick Springfield tickets are on the way... Can't wait. First time seeing him live! ❤️❤️❤️ It's been so long since I've been to a Concert. 91 was my last one to see NKOTB. This one will be the best one ever. OMG. I think I'm more than ecstatic.
I feel exactly the same way! Haven’t met him yet but since 5th grade I loved this man!!
@@Careym72 it's worth the wait. You will be in gr 5 all over again lol
That is the most awesome and amazing thing ever!! I am so happy for you ....and a wee bit jealous too!
Love you Rick - your songs and your stay in Port Charles! Much love to you ❤❤😊😊
When I was living in the 80’s I always felt it was something special going on historically
Happy Birthday Rick! God bless you!!
U still make me feel like I'm 23.........can't thank u enuf foreva youngman xxxxxxxx
This is such a great song ❤🥰👍 heavy drums, hungry guitars, soulfully lyrics and a great voice 😊 you've all done right! Love it 😊 👍 🥰
I remember back in the early/mid 80's I was probably around 10 years old at Six Flags with my family.. we were in this shop and this group of really cute older teenaged girls were looking thru the poster rack and they came across Rick Spring field... they were like dogs in heat...
I remember like it was yesterday, and yet, it might as well be a million years ago. . . . . unreal. . . . . . .
Rick is still the MAN. 😂 Lots of love for you to this day....40 years later ❤❤❤❤❤
Hello, how are you doing today? Thanks for your love and support❤️❤️
I miss and love the 80s...
I wish i could go back.
Happiest days of my life ☺
I agree with you....
I had to come here to think about those days when I was a teen, lol. Not young anymore, about to be 50 on May 11th, 2019.
Love you Rick, from a 69' baby....... 80's rocked 🎸
Hello Donna!
I remember coming home from school and seeing him on my mom's soaps. As I did my homework. My uncle had a few of his albums.
This song is the reason my kids watched me freak when Vince Vicente showed up on Supernatural. Loved this song. Loved Rick just like anyone with eyes or ears did in the 80's. Watching him on the tv screen again made me so happy & very nostalgic.
Saw this movie w my best friend Lisa,RIP🤍She loved him and drags me to this 🎬.I am like Noah!!!She never knew he was on my soap!!!💕💕
Hello, how are you doing today? Thanks for your love and support💖💖
EVER!!
I agree with you today's music sucks. too much political involved n especially Rap music sucks. I love growing up in the 80 I wish I can go back
Same I totally agree I don't listen to any music from today. It's pure garbage!! I am truly an 80's girl trapped in the wrong decade.
June 14,2024 ❤ who’s listening to this ? 🙌 I am
too🎉
🎉
Me too. In 2025 and forever...
😊❤love this man!
Nobody
Thank God for the 80's and Thank God for Rick Springfield! Still Great to this day and will be forever!
The absolute lust of
my life!
This is one of my favorite Rick Springfield songs!! Why can't there be more like this?
Rick Springfield was my first concert I was 15 years old. Loved him then and love him still today. Sad the teenagers now have no idea what good music is.
What a great first concert!!! I would LOVE to see him even today 😍
I just love Rick! I started watching him on General Hospital as Dr. Noah Drake! I love him as an actor but I think I love him more as a rock star. He is definitely underrated.
Hello Angie!
I can't believe I met Rick Springfield!! 💗
However, I Was so nervous I didn't even introduce myself... 😑
He seemed very chill and down to earth! 💖 What a Great concert with him and Richard Marx!!

This AWESOME time in the 80's when MTV ruled the airwaves with great videos like this will never be duplicated again. We were lucky to be alive.

Oh, good gravy, what a great video! I got to see him in 1982 and 1983, and I still say those concerts were the best ones I ever attended.
I remember this video back on MTV in the 1980s (when they play music videos). One of the Rick Springfield songs that I still listen to occasionally.
How cute is Rick Springfield! Talented too. Go Rick! ❤

I agree Sanz80. I don't think Rick ever really got the credit he deserved. He was awesome in his prime!

NOTHING comes close to the energy and optimism of this music! LONG LIVE MTV!!!!!!
Original too, not a cover/ stolen sample like everything now. Looks not important, the music was all that mattered.
I saw Rick Springfield around 78-80. He put in a really solid performance. I enjoyed the show.
