RICK is asking questions to Sally ( Siri ) but the things get weird in the video "human touch' when he is dancing with the girl and there is a sinister robotic and demonic voice in the bakckground saying: I am controller, and i want to touch and seize you and make you mine" it may refer that the human race is human farm for the sinister beings who control the world .Rick might know something that we ignore.
My favorite Rick Springfield song. In the video, he asks Sally what year it is. She responds that it's 2016 (33 years after the song was released). The lyrics are even more meaningful in 2022. (Edited)
I wonder what Rick thinks of life in 2023,40 years after this song??? And, can we talk about how prophetic the lyrics are? Brian Bachelder your right, the future of what the elite are planning are told through television, music, movies. But most cannot see this happening. We are moving toward a one world order and people seem to love their servitude. I hope they all wake up to see that our minds are the hardest prison to escape. Those in power think we are to weak to make our own decisions. Why do you think the gap between the rich and poor is so wide in 2017? They want complete control of your lives and people are unwillingly giving them to those that control us without a fight.
My friend and me were both metal heads in the 80's but we both loved Rick Springfield's music. I still love it to today. His music was just so classic.
To George varughese - I don't mean to spoil the dream - but if you're from the U.K., these were the Thatcher Years! So the times were great for music, but with Unemployment and hospital closures thrown in! Those times WERE good - if you kept "blinkers" on ( you know those shields they put over horses eyes in traffic, so they only see FORWARDS, and aren't scared by traffic to either side).
Best damn decade for music. EVER. No two ways about it. I feel sorry for kids who didn't experience it. I was born in 1966 so in January of 1980 I had just turned 13. Couldn't ask for a better time to live.
Please focus on the key word in the last sentence: "... seemed..." It's very much a matter of perspective. The decade had its pleasant parts, of course, but plenty of horrors, to go with it...
“Everybody’s talking to computers…” This song seems prophetic. Remember when it came out? People actually talked face-to-face to each other back then. Studies have shown that even though people are connected electronically in the digital age, people feel more alienated than ever. It seems we do need the human touch, maybe more than ever. Remember when men and women connected in person rather than fishing through endless profiles on online dating sites? Remember when people had real friends instead of Facebook friends? I sometimes long for those days. Does anyone else?

What I love about 80s music videos and movies that are linked to Time Travel or what the future looks like is when it comes to the dates that are in the videos themselves that have arrived and gone and you look at how they thought the world would look like at that time
A true experiment that proves this song is telling the truth, awhile back in some European country, I think it was Romania, they had a group of babies that were never touched and nurtured and another group that were constantly hugged, talked to, and sang to, the babies that were ignored grew up dysfunctional and out of touch with society, and the babies that were constantly hugged, loved, and talked to grew up normal, loving, compassionate adults, it all makes sense.

So I heard this on season 2 episode 14 of [the one and only original] Knight Rider series today, about the 30 minute marker. Didn't recognize it so used Shazam which tried and somehow failed. Then I figured it out on my own. All I can say is I love 80's music, but where has this song been all my life?! And the music vid? Totally rad! If only I had the music video on laserdisc, I'd add to my collection!
Rick dropped this way back in 1983-if I’m not mistaken. All you young ‘uns, this was before Windows was ever a public concept. Rick was prophetic with this one; 40 years in advance. That’s pretty damn slick.
Though, the movie Back to the Future II did sort of get one thing right. The Cubs won the World Series in 2016. The movie was just off by a year. They predicted a 2015 World Series win.
Rick was my very 1st concert 1984 at Pine Knob in Michigan. I was 15 yrs old. 4 of us piled into my friend's Chevette and went. Had a great time at the show
It's just because he was a great performer. His music videos were always witty and endearing. I always imagined that he was my brother that made it in the music business, while I languished away as a scientist. But all's well that ends well.
Maybe the depicted tech in the video isn't showing it, but Rick hit the nail on the head with this one. Hit it out of the park. As a prophecy, it doesn't get any better.
A song released in 1983..with the video setting taking place in 2016... while listening to the song in 2024...God I miss the 80's!!! ❤

Love this guy😍😍😍😍
So I heard this on season 2 episode 14 of [the one and only original] Knight Rider series today, about the 30 minute marker. Didn't recognize it so used Shazam which tried and somehow failed. Then I figured it out on my own.
All I can say is I love 80's music, but where has this song been all my life?! And the music vid? Totally rad! If only I had the music video on laserdisc, I'd add to my collection!
We all still need that HUMAN TOUCH in 2019!
I wanna see his part about quarantined people aren't touching but distancing! He is so creative I will always love him
Futuristic before his time the beat is fabulous and visuals are stunning 🤩💝❤️🥰
Rick dropped this way back in 1983-if I’m not mistaken. All you young ‘uns, this was before Windows was ever a public concept. Rick was prophetic with this one; 40 years in advance. That’s pretty damn slick.
While we are all in isolation due to covid-19 / corona virus in 2020 , this song in more relevant than ever !
Damn straight.
Man what a great tune! It makes a lot of sense today! “2016!” He almost nailed to a “T”
Giggling that back in the 80's we really thought 2016 would look so much different.
Had a great time at the show
Nice meeting you fan ❤️
Hello, how are you doing today? Thanks for your love and support🎵❤️
Watching in 2020, at a time when I have to avoid the human touch, with Coronavirus!
So true!!
Me too.
don't forget bruce springsteen human touch.
I'm so scared and isolated in the modern world...
Good thing he made a parody called No Human Touch lmfao 😂
Absolutely awesome! There hasn't been good music or videos since the 90s.
Played a great arrangement of that for the UAB GOLDEN GIRLS my freshman year during the 1983-84 season of UAB Basketball as part of the Blazer Band!
Good God I love Rick Springfield. I'm a straight guy and I don't care. His hooks are amazing. LOL.....
It's just because he was a great performer. His music videos were always witty and endearing. I always imagined that he was my brother that made it in the music business, while I languished away as a scientist. But all's well that ends well.
Hard to believe it's been 32 years now....
何年振りだろう…ふと思い出してきた😊🎶懐かしや🎉
2016?? Who's listening in 2024??
The far off future of 8 years ago.
I am
It's time to nominate Rick Springfield to the rock and roll hall of fame 😉🥶🤯💯😁🎶😁😁😀.
Southern rockers r listening 😁🎧🤕🎧🤕
Southern rockers r listening 🎧🤕🎧🤕🎧 in 2024.we have not 🚫🚭🚫 forgotten 😡▶️💯🤬😡😭💔 💔.
Maybe the depicted tech in the video isn't showing it, but Rick hit the nail on the head with this one. Hit it out of the park. As a prophecy, it doesn't get any better.
