Who cares what people wear or what they do with their hair, doesn't make them any less of a rockstar or person, what matters is if they worked hard to get to where they are, it's not easy to learn an instrument, let alone create band that doesn't fight, and that plays together in time, actually write hits and then get into a record label, so much disrespect on social media for people that work so hard, it's not like their a half naked woman pretending to play an instrument just for views, we've all seen that crap, that's what it is too crap, if they had talent they wouldn't need to dress half naked
I can’t wait to see him again. I have tickets for his concert this coming December in Phoenix. Rick Springfield was my very first concert way back in 1984. He’s always been one of my favorite “rock stars.”
1983 was simply an incredible year for music and this was one of them. Cassettes and boom box radios turned as loud as it could go, those were the days.
Great riff and solo. The lyrics were well written too. Even though this song was popular back in the day it never get that much credit as it should have. Rick's best song and one of the best songs from the 80's IMO
@@catsnfashion80s It's insane - some dude handed him a cassette in the bathroom. Rick Springfield threw the tape on the car floor, then picked it up months later and inserted it into the tape - and got a big surprise.
I saw Rick Springfield in concert in Albany, GA. ‘Til Tuesday, who had the hit song “Voices Carry” at that time, opened for Rick. He sang songs from “Working Class Dog”, “Success Hasn’t Spoiled Me Yet”, “Living in Oz”, “Hard To Hold” and “Tao”. That was in Jul 1985 when I was home on Leave while serving in the US Navy. Rick is an awesome performer!! ❤️🤍💙
The 80's were the best time of my life!! The music was unbelievable, so many great artists!!! Me and my girlfriends would dance all over the place!!!! We saw so many Concerts, it was so amazing!!! Rick is so cute, and sings beautifully.. ❤️❤️.. 💃💃💃.. 🌹🌹🌹.....
He's got more albums out and I was in tears listening to the song that was obviously a dedication to his mother.. he was just singing in a couple years ago live with an orchestra and it was absolutely beautiful and made me cry. Something about my life,. You might be able to find it on UA-cam but it is absolutely beautiful
Why he has special place....he was playing USO shows for US troops in Vietnam as a kid. An Aussie no less. I remember back when the Aussies were tied very close with us in the US. Rebels against England in their own right. Love Aussies.
OhI had Rick's posters in my room among other artists as a teenager. The 80's was a great era. I had so much fun going to great concerts 🎉🎉🎉. Now I'm a grandmother (Ita- short for abuelita- spanish). And both my children and grandchildren love the 80's music 🎶 ❤🎉🎉🎉
One thing about the 80's is that there were soo many awesome songs that a lot of deserved songs didn't make it to the #1. This one should of. Hard to choose the best song of the 80's. It was a great decade in music and movies, they still play them today in them.
"Business in the front..party in the back.." i recall my older brother saying that, as a teenager..when this song was a hit. Tho' he passed away quite recently, he wasn't old...i have the best memories of him..💙..'my only true brother..until we meet again bro..miss u to pieces 'til i see you again..💔.
This song comes off the best Rick Springfield album ever recorded, in my opinion. "Living in Oz" is his true masterpiece, even though Rick, himself likes "Tao", released in 1985, the best of all his work. Released in 1983, "Living in Oz" is gritty and heavy, a true Rock album to it's very core. It's the album that really got me listening to ALL of his music. Rick Springfield is one of the most talented and underrated songwriters/musicians of our time and truly deserves a place in the Rock Hall of Fame. Rick is still a force to be reckoned with today at 70 years young! Still making great music and touring! Hoping to catch him live this Summer!
He is still my favorite:)I had living in oz,tao and living in oz cassette albums! hard to hold movie is definitely worth watching! always wanted to see him in concert!:)
I had, "Working Class Dog", "Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet", "Living in Oz" and "Tao" 33 albums. Had the "Hard To Hold" soundtrack on cassette. I had one more of his albums in LP format. Can't recall the title but it had the song, "Bruce", on it and I have his greatest hits on CD. I loved his music and really felt that he was incredibly underrated as a musician. When most people think of Rick Springfield, they think of, "Jessie's Girl". Great song but he was so much more than that song. He's still one of my favorite male artists of all time. I would say that, "Living In Oz" and "Tao", were probably my favorite two albums of his.
Love his songs. Miss those days I was a teen in the 80's that's why I mainly watch 80's official music videos It brings back such wonderful memories. 🙂
I absolutely love this song. I've listened to it 356 times in the past two days. I'm in 8th grade and was born in 2002. You'll never find someone quite like me, who has this big of a passion for the eighties and many other decades. Rick Springfield's legend keeps going on. He's amazing. He and his wife look great together.
Soap Opera stars usually are, the impressive thing is that between pop/ rock and several films, he transitioned flawlessly, made a small mint and then quit while at the pinnacle of his career.
Caught him at a free concert earlier this summer at a amusement park ...voice still good after all these years. Was pleasantly surprised that he could play guitar so well...he tore off some guitar solos that were very impressive
Gorgeous and talented. His songs can put me anywhere in or out of the world! His videos although made back then, are like we have not yet reached that future. Timeless.
ONE OF THE REASONS HE WAS LOOKED DOWN ON A LITTLE WAS BECAUSE HE WAS ON A DAY TIME SOAP OPERA . IT MAKES YOU SEEM LIKE LESS OF A MUSICAL ARTIST AND MORE LIKE AN ACTOR TRYING TO BE A ROCK STAR .HE'S COOL BUT THIS IS PRETTY COMMERCIAL AND HE WON'T EVER MAKE THE HALL OF FAME BASED ON SONGS LIKE THIS ..I STILL LIKE HIM AND THINK HE WAS A TALENT BUT THEY PUSHED HIS PRETTY BOY IMAGE A LITTLE TOO MUCH AND BECAUSE OF THAT MOST OF HIS FANS WERE CHICKS ...MY FRIENDS AND I WOULDN'T OF BEEN CAUGHT DEAD LISTENING TO THIS BECAUSE IT WAS CONSIDERED CHICK ROCK ...AS A 57 YEAR OLD I CAN ADMIT THESE THINGS AND GIVE HIM THE CREDIT HE DESERVES ...

I was 11 in 82 Rick was 🔥
So was I !I wish I can go back!
Maybe it was a time when we thought we’d be young forever. That didn’t happen. At least we have the music. Unreal singer!
Springfield was a true rock star. No insane outfits or crazy hairstyles, just him up there with his guitar and his voice
And his jumpsuits..but dang he was sexy..
And don't forget some makeup.

I loved Rick Springfield music back in the 80's .
The 80’s were the best. Keep on rocking Rick
For sure I'll even take some of the late 70s
Great riff and solo. The lyrics were well written too. Even though this song was popular back in the day it never get that much credit as it should have. Rick's best song and one of the best songs from the 80's IMO
I was thinking the same about that solo. Took some balls to propose that in the rock-era. Next-level solo.
He didn't write this one. I just heard the crazy story of how he obtained the song, a couple days ago. ua-cam.com/video/pvoxnQQQLj0/v-deo.html
I agree that this is Rick's best song. It's the first one I look for whenever I'm in the mood for his music.
