Thanks for all the comments guys. I’m Sam the guy doing the driving. I have seen a lot of comments of why do in the wet? Conditions are irrelevant if both the cars are in the same conditions. The wet is an absolutely amazing challenge and also shows the difference in chassis dynamics. When a car is under load it behaves totally different in the wet to the Dry.
A couple
Of comments about me missing apex’s 😂 I was infact taking apex’s but they were what is commonly known as the wet line. We take a wider line to reduce the amount of steering angle which let’s the front wheels rotate more freely. Both cars were awesome and both had pros and cons as do all the cars I drive. Opinions are just that and it’s one persons preference and perspective of the car they are driving. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have 👍

If the m2 was the auto version would it have been quicker off the line in the dry and around the track?
Conditions are relevant if one car is less affected. For instance if one has less power but more grip it will lose out less in the wet.

Aditya krishna totally agree the m2 is fun. The m4 is better for doing perfect traction laptimes.
Then the price is way less expensive and the cars all today get bigger and bigger the m2 is just the right size for fun drifting as it’s not as big as a couch landscape ;)

I feel people choose the M4 because they think they need to, a status thing. The M2 is way better & more aggressive looking, and feels the right size.

I love Bmw's but look at how hard they are to control on that track om wet road.. that doesnt look fun at all if you're actually trying to get a good lap time. And the M2 even understeered which was surprising.

No.He spun the car which was the more manageable of the two in a slide situation, he's a muppet but that is his appeal and he plays to his strengths with it. I totally agree with his choice and assessment of the M2 over the M4.

The M2 comp produce 405 bhp (410ps) but some are showing over 420 bhp standard on a dyno - l think Mat would have won that drag race if he had DCT instead of manual - must admit l would struggle to choose which one - l love both of them !! Keep up the good work 👍

M4 is so fuckin beautiful, the perfect balance in terms of overall looks. M2 looks tiny and M5's and above are too big. If only BMW didnt put basically the same M2 engine into the M4...it deserved some next generation 4.0 v8 from e92 or smth like that...
This is awesome and i love these drag races you guys always do, but i will never understand why you always put manuals up against automatics, it never works out good for the manuals. I remember the first time i personally saw this happening was the M2 vs Mustang video where you ended up using the Manual Mustang and a DCT M2, it's always just that bit nicer seeing a more fair, even race where both cars aren't limited by their ability to shift and rather the rest of the car
We run the cars we have available to us from BMW. In a perfect would they would have had the same gearbox.

Probably because in sport plus the throttle is sharp and all the torque comes instantly with the slightest touch and that's the last thing you want when is that wet

The M4 is a good looking car but the shorter proportions of the smaller M2 five it a much meaner, muscular look that I prefer. I’d have the M2.

I would take the M4 not because it is faster, I'm 6'2 and I like more room on my legs. And I like how it looks in overall.
But, at the end of the day, in the real world, on the streets, the M2 will go as fast as 40 mph, in some streets and the M4 will go as fast as.... yes, you guessed it.. it will go 40 mph too 😎✌

M2 Competition is a rock star. In the dry I bet the M2C would have won as it’s balance is just better than the much larger M4C. The longer wheelbase of the M4C is a huge advantage in the sloppy wet.

Two great cars........as long as you're driving them on a dry surface. Back here in the real world, that much power on a wet road is downright dangerous in an average drivers hands. An x drive 420i would probably have stuffed both these cars on that track.
