    Chris is the real deal. Theres no silliness of the old Top Gear... no trying too hard of the new Top Gear... just the honesty of his relationship with the car. Its intuitive, its musical, you dont have to like him or his opinion but damn... you gotta salute how he flows into the guts of the car. Hes not the greatest driver, not the best presenter but theres no one else that can talk to a car like he does. There are emotions we cant express about vehicles, good or bad. He picks that out and shows you why you feel that way. We need more like him...

      Roberto Lombardi I think the exhaust note is ok on the M2C, but just not as good as the N55.
      What I hate about the M2C’s exhaust though is it’s thick, bulky muffler. It’s way too big and sticks out a lot more as opposed to the original M2 N55’s exhaust.

Weight play an important role n racing applications. As a competition vehicle thwy should have removed weight. Very dissapointed.

    The M2 is/was a fantastic 9/10 car, the upgrades to the M2 Competition have just notched it up to a 9.5/10. However I will say this until I'm blue I'm the face, it doesn't sound half as good as the as the old M2. The N55 in the M2 is/was the best sounding straight 6 car you could buy.

    • @ryanb8736

      Alex Napper the problem I have with them is the lifeless steering. The original M2 steering was lifeless. Couldn’t feel a thing. Plus it was slow.
      I’m glad the Comp has addressed some the issues and put more power in it, but still getting up to top speed it drops in power.
      I love the new seats and front bumper, along with the new brakes.
      I wish the steering was more like Porsche.

    • @Eatinbritches
      @Eatinbritches 6 років тому

      That can easily be fixed by changing the exhaust. You can always custom build, or look for an aftermarket option. Honestly though... after listening to them both side by side, I find very little difference. The M2C is a bit more muted and a bit cleaner, but that's no bad thing. It still has the same straight 6 tone.

    Funny, because the first competition package on the E46 M3 had much better looking wheels than the standard M3 of the time.

      F10 and m2c is onlt times theyve out on uglier wheels on. Style 666m on the m3/4 while i def would not say its on uglier wheel does take away from overall look of the car. So i gues you coullddd throw that in the mix? What an odd one because the wheels are sexy as hell but for example if you fit them on well specd m4(frozen red ;D ) they become the focal point. Takin away from the m4s cool design.

      Unfortunetly the M2 competition ( 3600 lbs ) its 110 lbs heavier than a 2018 M3 ( 3490 lbs) and 150 lbs heavier than standar M2 (3450 lbs affecting its agilty while cornering regsrdless of hp. Weight play an important role n racing applications. As a competition vehicle thwy should have removed weight. Very dissapointed.

      The engine spec, its power/torque output and the required heft in the transmission required to cope with that, the chassis bracing and the fact that it needs to relatively affordable so it can't be made extensively of expensive light weight materials , would dictate a weight around what it is.

    • @C6SuperchargedZR1

      @@Alby911 it would be even faster, more economical, more agile, fun, less wear on various parts on the car and even better to drive if it only weight 1350 kg. Point made? Weight reducation should be at much higher priority for manufacturers than it currently is.

    • @Alby911
      @Alby911 6 років тому +9

      @@C6SuperchargedZR1 - Shed that much weight and the performance becomes on par with the M3/M4; there's no way BMW will cannibalize their own market anymore that it already has by releasing the M2. Out of the box the M2 Comp is simply a fun, and tail happy car to drive. Anyone wishing for less weight will have to option the carbon parts, or see what the M2 CS/CSL has in store.

    To be honest, I would much prefer these sort of classy Chris Harris (and Neil) stuff over the brash nonsensical blabbers of Jeremy & the gang. Good riddance in disguise perhaps? Now BBC just needs to pull Steve Sutcliffe into the fold. Maybe Mat Watson too perhaps?

      I disagree, what makes the original M2 wheels better is the dish which fits in with the flared arches and gives the car a chunky look, the Competition wheel removes all of that. A complex multispoke that is flat and to me resembles a cheap aftermarket rim.
