The time has come for Mat to get his hands on the all-new Mercedes-AMG A45S! It might only have a 2-litre 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, but it still produces 421hp and 500Nm! The Golf R performed marvelously. Almost more than half the price as the other cars and performed within a second of them.
Imo it should have a little improvement, sth like 10% more hp and 20% more torque, with a slight reduction in weight and an increase at the brake performance. It'd still be cheaper than the other 3 cars but it would be more thrilling to watch. Golf is my favorite car btw, too bad it doesn't sell in my country anymore :(
I have a Golf R 2016 model pre facelift with an ABT power package for like £2.200 and it has 380 bhp and 490nm torque. I'm pretty sure that my Golf is way more bang for your buck than this cars!
You can get a decent stage 3 kit for a golf r for about £5000 that'll give you 500bhp and you will ripe lambos, r8s and gtrs on the quartermile with it.

That poor Golf R was out of its league but it was not embarrassed by any stretch. Im glad they included it in the lineup as one can compare it to the higher price point vehicles to see where it lands in real world performance.
I wish they included APR Stage 1 or 2 Golf R as a 5th car just to see how a tuned Golf R compares - it would still be the cheapest option by far but it would be much closer.

@zubairallawi1206 word my guy, I have a 2018 audi S3 (stage 2) which is basically the same as a golf R and I absolutely love it! (Aside from the DSG farts) with the right downpipe and exhaust system it actually sounds rowdy as shit. Basically, it's the same as slightly slightly tuned RS3 for less than half the price.

AMG 4CYL 2LT engine just honestly astounds me like I can't belive how it can produce those kind of numbers. 10/10 the interior is amazing engine is brilliant and preformance is outstanding overall absolute beast🔥
@Conor Great point since it's an AMG engine and a 4cly it has to be pretty much maxed out but I'm assuming people who buy an amg I'm pretty sure would leave it pretty much stock and from that stand point its 🔥. Especially considering that the base model is from 2015! (As well as the BMW M2 though) But also The BMW had some upgrades and the RS3 not even the sport exhaust which could increase power a little bit, and lacks probably some other upgrades as well.
The big loser is the BMW, if you will spend the guts of 80k on that you need your head looking at. My brother has an RS3, they are good cars although a bit overpriced. The car which is winner for me was the Golf, its not as good performance wise but for a little spend improvements could be made to close the gap. at half the price of the BMW I would rather have it, put 10k in engine mods.

In the real world traffic light GP, the older version, and the RS3 are way faster than my M2. It takes solid trust in one's driving ability and insurance to drive mine and keep up with mates anywhere except the track (destroys them) and dry twisty back roads (M2 is better on technical stuff thanks to RWD adjustability).

The A45s is proper German engineering. I love the M2, reminds me of the E92, should really have at least 450 bhp as standard.

Manos Oikonomou it is indeed a 2019 car, just like the RS3 is a 2019 car. But both are from the same generation. The M2 and RS3 are just different cars which were build with different mindset. The M2 is a real fun sportscar and the Audi is more of a fast allrounder. Both cars are great but I would choose the M2 over the RS3. Just for the fun factor.

The M2 Competition is a modern e46 M3. Its light, small, RWD, Manual, 3l I6 with much tuning capabilities. Easy 500hp on stock engine. And it looks like a litte M4.
That Merc is a weapon, I'd still take the M2 though. RWD puts hairs on your chest. :D

@@MrRavermike no it isn't. it's AWD with selectable rwd. And If I am not wrong mercedes say that the rwd mode is only for track use. So legally the c63s is AWD. That's also the only way it's faster than most offerings from other manufacturers.

The car has a carbon fibre boot lid and the carbon fibre bonnet not forgetting the some upgrade on the lite wheels. So to be fair tht does contribute to the performance of the M2 because of the weight reduction

Irfan Patel it was descent, less power than the Benz and shockingly even heavier with rwd only and that big wing. For that the acceleration was nice when getting traction.
Sad that the trac was so wet, i think with dry trac the performance would be a lot better for all the car. I love this M2, she amazing with those upgrade. Nice video.
