Counselor into watchman is probably the best class. You get the +12 to all force throws plus access to every skill. Super fun and you can make it different. You can go dex or str both are efficient. You can rock dark side or light side and get the +3 to dex or con respectively. Fun for casual gameplay.
One of the very last builds I did before I took a break from KOTOR/KOTOR 2 was a Consular/Master, I was absolutely having a blast being a pure caster with the occassional lightsaber use, although the only time I really ended up swinging with it was a basic attack when an enemy died and it auto switched to a new target. That was the build that made me completely fall in love with Force Wave, easily the most fun ability in the game, just flinging entire rooms of enemies against the wall (and sometimes those in another room) was an absolute riot.
Sentinel 17 intelligence build (starting stat), this lets you be good at everything in the game and very powerful early on, you get this to 20 and you just have so many feats, you can't lose. the only character I use blasters on that can use a lightsaber is Mira, because she comes with blast feats by default. technically so does Atton, but yeah, I use Mira as a blaster Jedi, she's my healer, she stands in the back, blasting and healing my frontal fighters (myself and Handmaiden), I love that playstyle. I even find it easier to beat Hanharr with the blaster and force speed than with the lightsaber on Malacor 5
I just started playing and man what a great game I had played the original, but I honestly like this game better. But thank you for the tips, I know this really isn't a tips and tricks video, but it is helpful nonetheless.
Great video! My favorite build I've used so far in kotor 1 was a scout/consular that focused on buffs and melee combat with some offensive powers thrown in later on. For role play and practical reasons I only used light side or universal powers. It was a lot of fun to still be competent at melee, had good hp cause of implants, and basically never run out of force points.
My favorite class: Jedi Guardian and Jedi Master. Twin lightsabers and wielding Force abilities at the same time... absolute secks. Force Lightning, Stasis Field, or just slicing up enemies with lightsabers? How about D. ALL OF THE ABOVE?! Plus, it kind of feels like the same path Luke took during his own path to becoming a Jedi. From Empire Strikes Back to Return of the Jedi, Luke went from Jedi Guardian to Jedi Master, wielding his lightsaber and the Force rather handily. And you're absolutely right about the builds you want to play. Everyone has their own choices and preferences in KOTOR. There's no right or wrong way to play it, it all depends on what you like to do!!! And that's exactly the core fundamental of RPGs: Choices!
Im a big fan of blasters. Its kind of a slog at first but it gets better later on, I start at sentinel then progress into a sith maurder for the extra feats. Force lightning and stasis with blasters makes you feel like a jedi bounty hunter.
6:36 im playing my first ever Kotor playthrough on a dual wielding scoundrel consular who invested heavily into strength besides the force attributes, specialized in stuns besides lightning ofc It was a bit random at the start , because of the high chance to miss but when you land most hits of your turn most enemies are done. Once youre past that point and stacked crazy amounts of hit bonus and mitigated the downsides of flurry and dualwield its borderline ridiculous, you stun a whole group and throw out 5 attacks per turn at them cutting through like butter. Im almost soloing every encounter Now im at a point i need my companions basically just for free heals and to pick up mines and open locks
Bro the whole selling point to being a Jedi with blasters is the fact that you can’t do it anywhere else. Using force powers to increase your bullet accuracy and fire rate to clear a whole room within seconds feels like space John Wick. But to each his own 🤷🏻♂️ I feel like I play this way more because I overplayed the lightsabers waayyyy too much. It all felt the same after a while.
I just did jekjek tar in a Sith guardian/Maurauder blaster build. I literally felt like john wick in a jedi robe. With the master fury, you can hit every shot on a basic attack with blasters and not only does it look aesthetic, it is very strong. master flury guarentees 3 shots per blaster pistol and all three shots hit with a blaster rifle. Maurauder gets a +15 to damage to all damage types like blasters or blades or lightsabers. It is a lot of fun and once you get a high enough Dex, you can beat the jedi masters without issue.
Consular is an amazing class, just very squishy early game. Consular / Jedi Master will always be my favorite mostly because by mid game you're just a force power monster. Though I also like Sentinel / Watchman as well. Sentinel I normally cross class for demolition and stack security/demolition on my Jedi so I can unlock doors and disable mines (Mines = xp/credits up the wazoo) while having my companion slots open for any companion I want. Consular/Jedi Master you can kind of do the same thing but you need 14 Intelligence and using two Feats for Cross Classing Demo and Security. Sentinel you just have to waste 1 feat for demolition and 12 intelligence for the same results.
I just got done with my second blaster build, and as fun as it is to outrun the lightsabers and mow down Kreia from the other end of the map, i think i came to the conclusion that the high skill requirement to really optimize the build is what i appreciate most, and I'm getting that by just investing in a high enough initial IQ.
Id wish both games had more blasters/melee skills to balance out with all the force powers. Some skills specific to some types of ennemies would be neat for instance
just had a question for building a blaster-focused Jedi or Mandalore - if your blaster Jedi is going to use Heavy armor or you are forced to use heavy armor like Mandalore - should you put points into Dexterity or all points in Constitution due to heavy armors low Max Dexterity bonus? does armor limit DEXTERITY completely (as in limits evasion/defense/accuracy/damage/reflex - derived from the dexterity attribute) or does armor only limit the Defense/Evasion component of dexterity?
The max dexterity property of armor only affects your defense rating, it does not limit your attack modifier, so DEX is still important for all ranged characters.
@@GamingYourOwnWay is there any reason to invest into constitution after 18? probably not right? KOTOR is a DPS race against the enemy.....i guess if you really want a high fortitude to resist force choke when Sion or Kreia cast it. Or to resist knockdowns from Sion's or Nihilus' power attacks
I'm a fan of sentinel with a lot intelligence and one lightsaber. I'm playing like a tank and mostly use jedi powers to bump up my stats. Most of the time I will only do regular attack cause it's more fun to see them combat against each others. I really like to play with Bao-Dur for his storyline and Visas build up with a lot of sith powers and two lightsabers. 🌹
consular watchmen is the playthrough I am halfway through now and I love it. I have a +20 difficulty on my force powers on my third planet and a high charisma so after I get bored stunlocking and sneak attacking everything I just got force storm town. in longer fights you can force storm and then the stasis field lock uses less mana than you gain so you can just build back up to storm town again
An Exile starting as sentinel and then prestige to weapons master. Use the sentinel skill set to gain the most amount of experience and level up quickly. I put all into strength and damage to hit like a truck just to top it all of with becoming a weapons master to hit even harder. Sabers with a damage output of 50-80 are just way too satisfying...
My favorite is Consular to Sith Lord. Force Crush instakills so many enemies and it's very satisfying to use. Now I low key wanna try to have a light side Sith Lord for the lulz, I'm guessing there will be enough opportunities to turn to the light after selecting the prestige class?
sure, the main choice that defines the ending is fighting or joining bastila anyways, and whatever you choose gives massive points to that alignment. So if you work towards the light, get the final push with the choice of fighting bastila and you'll be super light side. when I tried the darkside ending I was 100% light and it took me down to halfway dark side so, if you start working to light after getting sith lord, you'll reach it.
Damn I'm actually salty you said the build you'll never do is the blasters build. Literally the most unique and different way to play the game, and its so fun! My favorite build ever!
I know that the best builds for KOTOR 1 is scoundrel (lvl 6-7) + Counselor (master speed + fear/choke/stasis/force wave) + 2 lightsabers and for KOTOR 2 is the same Counselor + assassin/watchmen + 2 lightsabers + finesse + dex build. But I simply hate 2 lightsabers and prefer going on jedi master/Sith lord prestige because roleplay, yes I know i lose potential DPS but is my form of enjoy the game :p
I almost always start as Sentinel because I like having high skills, and skills are more involved than in KOTOR 1. Prestige class doesn't matter as much from there, it ultimately depends on my mood when I choose because every direction is OP and I have fun with all 3(6?)
Thon’s robe is always the best robe for most Jedi characters, I used to give it to Atton because of the sneak attack bonuses from the jump attack! If I remember correctly, that or another robe can also give you force focus which I tend to pick for myself when playing as a guardian (which is what I usually pick for constitution).
K1 I like a light sided soldier consular, high strength, constitution, wisdom and charisma. Focused on dueling for the extra defense and spent majority of my powers on buffs, speed, valor, energy/ force resistance. Only used destroy droid and stasis field as my offensive powers. End game gear was ulic qel droma/ star forge robes, circlet of saresh, dominator gauntlets, and a lightsaber equipped with sapith and solari crystals amplified by mantle of the force. Pretty damn strong light side build. Tanky asf, lots of damage with master flurry, high defensive capabilities and ALL the buffs. Star forge was honestly a walk in the park with this build. The lightsaber having huge damage bonuses vs dark side, party members buffed to hell, and stasis field spams.
I feel like your advice your advice on the last build should be applied to gaming in general and it's sad that people have lost that thought process, if they ever thought that way to begin with.
As a member of both, the kotor community and soul borne community suffer from the same problem. "Why are you running that build? This and that are so much better."
Wait. You don't need Two Weapon Mastery for double bladed weapons? I have to go reread the description. I may have been doing it wrong for the last (checks watch) 20 years...
Scoundrel/Sentinel is very fun too. Crit strikes ftw. Save up levels for sent starting after level 5 so you end up with 15 levels of sentinel at the end.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s like those people who say you’re not a real Kingdom Hearts player if you don’t play on critical mode with your feet while never blocking blindfolded. Maybe that’s the way you like to play it. Me? I just wanna have fun.
I just played kotor 2 again I am going for a build based off the legendary starweird entity from the unknown regions and I used force fear then force scream it was such an OP combination I barely had to use anything else when I get a lightsaber i’m gonna duel wield two shoto ones to emulate the starweirds talons
My favorite build so far is a soldier/consulate using only one single saber with the duelest feats maxed. Only force powers i mainly use is drain life and speed. Im all for that laser sword crit build finnese
plus watchman has sneak attack so when you hit a stunned opponent they will feal like they were hit by a nuke, yeah its my favorite build as well, the high sneak attack feats are about equivient to critingevery attack round, and wen you do crit the devs did not double the sa damage, they wisely were like thats too much
My question is for Kotor one. Is there a way to Regen force points in battle? I'm usually doing a guardian so I don't need that much force powers but I want to do a consular but it seems like it doesn't have a way to Regen fp so I'm out of energy after the first or second enemy
That shouldn't be the case after you get further into the game, but at the beginning that's just part of being a noob force user. In KOTOR 1 you can stop leveling at level 2, save your PC's levels, then when you become a jedi pump those levels into your jedi class. That enables you to get more force powers and force points at the start. I don't particularly enjoy that playstyle, but I know it's very popular.
I just go straight jedi master light side all the way. Freeze everybody and let my squad handle the rest. I like to up persuade and mind trick as much as possible for conversation role play him as a jedi diplomat
Damn you have a very similar stance as me. I usually go consular with a nice high balance on strength, wisdom and charisma and spec into being master/lord cuz it's a meme prestige class, and just spam force wave lol. I also never understood the like, Jedi gunslinger build, thought it was pointless
I've always liked blasters up until I get a lightsaber. Something uncivilized about using blasters at that point but I should try sometime and be like a Mercenary that used to be a sith lord. Would be cool
Like if it were a game like SWTOR where you could pick a class and the entire game you weren't a jedi and the story supported you not being a jedi, then I'm totally down with blasters. But as a jedi? so uncivilized.
I recently did a dual blaster build. It's broken. You can wipe out entire rooms in seconds. Ideally you wanna go Jedi Sentinel into Sith Marauder (Jedi Weapon Master only adds melee damage whereas Sith Marauder adds damage to ALL of your attacks) and you wanna keep an eye out for Mandalorian Rippers.

pacifist is fun in the first one but I'm on the 3rd planet and I'm already up to 5 "necessary" kills to get through this far. And that's a generous interpretation.
Frankly I never worry about the build, I always play as a Jedi learning the coolest powers and using the lightsaber that I like the most because that's what the game is about…Jedis. Why am I going to use a blaster if I can electrocute people with my mind and launch a legendary sword through the air? That is the definitive build, play in the funniest way for yourself No need to worry about stats if you don’t want to, just hit recommended and you'll have a super strong character in the end like always, I mean, I just did that and max the lightsaber damage and that's it 👍 MALAK defeated on the first try
I finish taris on kotor 1 with only upgrading main character to lv4 an bust my ass surviving getting to dantooine to have more available upgrade lvs to become a jedi an become more powerfull hehe
KOTOR 2 wasn't that great a game to me - I didn't go to Nar Shadaa after Telos. However the characters were great once I finally opened up their backstories. Sentinel will be my next build whever I finally get the gumption to play it again - and whenever I can get my Steam account back up and running.
Then maybe you ought to get your hands on the Restored Content Mod when you get the chance. It pretty much loads everything that was cut from the game. EVERYTHING.
@@GamingYourOwnWay sorry if I came off as a dick tho, I do love that you are steaming and playing KOTOR, your videos are getting younger Star Wars fans into the game and that’s awesome. Since you responded I’m switching to a like and subscribing.
@@GamingYourOwnWay haha well I can appreciate that!!! If you've never played dark souls 1 you should try that one. It's way slower than the others, and you can basically just backstab all the normal enemies without being at too much risk. And once you get some big heavy armor or the drake sword that goes a loooong way!!! I cheesed my way through dark souls 1, and now I'm playing elden ring with the best of em 🧀 😎

pacifist is fun in the first one but I'm on the 3rd planet and I'm already up to 5 "necessary" kills to get through this far.
That is the definitive build, play in the funniest way for yourself
No need to worry about stats if you don’t want to, just hit recommended and you'll have a super strong character in the end like always, I mean, I just did that and max the lightsaber damage and that's it 👍 MALAK defeated on the first try
great video my nicca keep up the good work.
My favorite build is consular turned into Jedi weapon master or jedi guardian to jedi watchman.
my favourite build in kotor 2 has to be jedi sentinal for that juicy dailogue option and jedi weapon master so i can two shot everyone
Favorite build is a high skills guardian/soldier using vibroblade. Solo as much as possible.
Thon's robe on a watchman is pretty sweet! I finally got it to drop
Is this a Kotor one video? I keep hearing watchmen what is that? I’m not sure what that is I’m so confused.
Lol what about a BJJJ? A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Jedi? Weapons expert monk Jedi lol
Omg bro yo dog is so cute
She's fully aware, please don't inflate her ego more :P
also star wars blaster pistolerro is better than dual sabers for dps
I’m having a hard time playing a ds play through. I just feel bad.
Feel that.
I got the mobile port for android and this game still spanks!
I finish taris on kotor 1 with only upgrading main character to lv4 an bust my ass surviving getting to dantooine to have more available upgrade lvs to become a jedi an become more powerfull hehe
Cool😊
9:00 Luke still carried a blaster in TESB.
And he got his hand chopped off for it, serves him right
Best build = Charisma + Persuade
I'm the one that asked, thanks for keeping you promise!
Lets inflate the algorithm
I appreciate you, and the algorithm appreciates you.
EVERYTHING.
You're doing great
Thanks!

Why do you keep this pronouncing the word counselor?
Using kotor2 videos 😂😂
Instant dislike once you said you played on normal
👍
@@GamingYourOwnWay sorry if I came off as a dick tho, I do love that you are steaming and playing KOTOR, your videos are getting younger Star Wars fans into the game and that’s awesome. Since you responded I’m switching to a like and subscribing.

@@kennyblankenship9044 lmaooo, you got that right
Do a blaster run or the puppies die
A tear ran down my eye when you said you hate soulsbourne games 🥲
I respect them as great games while recognizing that I'm absolutely terrible at them lol
No pressure though lololol I know it's not for everyone! We'll still like you 🧡
