I like to do Dantooine, Nar Shaddaa, Dxun, Korriban, then Onderon for role playing reasons. It just makes more sense to me to go to Dantooine first. And it makes sense to run out of Korriban then go to the big battle on Onderon.
I would definitely reccommend nar shaddaa first. You can get your first lightsaber, make atton & bao dur jedi and by the time you leave you are almost ready to make handmaiden a jedi + you get mira too. Some of the parts can be quite hard with lower level characters however, I think its worth it!
I completely agree! I usually always go Nar Shaddaa first. Get my saber and then convert Atton and Bao-Dur. I usually bounce after and come back when I am stronger. Since it is one of the longer planets, I will occasionally get it out of they way first.
This game was SO good. And so dark and esoteric. I absolutely loved the freedom it gave you over the first KOTOR game also. You could teach your followers to use the Force. It was awesome.
"The route to convert your companions to be Jedi" Me, about 13 hours in on my very first playthrough and watching this video: "Wait, I can do that?" But seriously, it appears KotoR 2 is even more in depth than the original was (not a slight against it though, I had an amazing time with my first playthrough of KotoR 1 about a month ago). Even without the cut content I will never be able to experience since I'm playing this backwards compatible with the Xbox One, there is still a whole lot more to see and do than I was expecting just coming off of the first game. Edit: I can now say I am finally playing with TSLRCM. Bought both games on Steam last week because they were on sale for $3.50 each. Runs just fine on my laptop, only that my battery drains pretty quickly so I need my charger handy.
You having fun with the xbox version? Everyone online makes it seem as if the game is useless without the cut content mod but idk anything about computers and kotor 1 on xbox is great
@@Garebeare It's definitely not useless, there are some gaps and some parts feel kind of rushed/not fully fleshed out but overall it's still a great game.
@@davidvanbreukelen6593 I grew up with the KOTOR games, and I'll say they reached a satisfactory enough conclusion. For me, I liked KOTOR 2 with the cut content still... Well, cut, because it added an air of mystery. I *knew* there was something more, but there wasn't.
Quick tip for anyone trying to get a specific lightsaber type (i.e single lightsaber, double saber, short saber) before one of the lightsaber rewards do a quick save (F4) and then get the saber, it's random each time so if you get a lightsaber when you wanted a double saber just hit F5 and try again.
I just use the Duplicate Lightsaber glitch to get enough Lightsabers for my Jedi. Not that I use the old Hag unless I have to. I also don't use Atton at this point, although I keep his weapons upgraded until he fights the twins, then never use him again. I keep Bao Dur as a mechanic to make me stuff. I basically use the 3 girls as Jedi and Mandalore, the best Shooter in the game.
I usually go Nar Shadda, duxon/ondoron, dantoine, ondoron again, koriban, m478 Also the fastest lightsaber build is as follows, commit to lightside, help the ithorians on telos as the leader will reward you with a lightsaber part as part of the main quest, go to narshada, get off the Ebon Hawk and get back on to trigger visas cutscene then help the ithorian on the docks
Recently i completed a Light-side playthrough, i followed the order in which they are listed to you in-game. I believe it was: Dantooine, Nar Shadda, Dxun/onderon, and then finishing with Korriban. Honestly, i always suspected that following the order it lists as a good aligned character would end up being a well-rounded path... And it was! Got my first saber pretty early, had plenty of upgrades for it, got all the force-sensitive allies picked up and ready to go pretty smoothly. Would encourage anyone else to try it out the next time they play if they havent made up their minds from this video. :)
However, to the content creator, you mentioned that the lost content mod has you finding the (normally dead) Jedi master on Korriban alive.. i played through and she was still dead when i found her. Maybe it only has her alive if you are evil?
@@DeathComesQuick666 Glad to hear. And you need the M478 mod to find her alive. The restored content still has her as dead in the cage. If you have M478 installed, she is the Jedi Master found on that planet. You will find her light or dark but you have to have the M478 mod.
I always play these on my OG xbox, favorite games of all time, kotor 1 &2. I just got the restored content mod on steam last night and started that for the first time. Pretty stoked to sink some more time into it
The OG Xbox is a beast lol you are probably gonna love the restored content. Most people may not see the value of extra scenes and lost content but the Kotor fans speak highly of it! :)
From what I remember when I last played this some years ago (w/ TSLRCM), Nar Shaddaa is the most difficult planet due to the all the quests involving fighting hordes of enemies (especially the one where you have to enter that one cantina alone.)
The Jekk'Jekk Tarr fight can be potentially overwhelming, but should you build your character correctly it won't be a large challenge. The street fights and Goto's Yacht are very unforgiving however. For the Yacht, remember the binary code that the guard droids say when they die.
@@dgrunklesamiii4615 jek tar tar and street fights can be avoided tho. Just keep running with T3 or Atton. Don't fight since its waste of medkits. But In my first playthrough I killed everyone (for xp)
@@SN-nl8tm xp is too valuable a commodity to waste in my opinion when it comes to KOTOR II. One of the most satisfying things in the game is to build a perfect character for combat, load them with stims, and one shot Sion five times in a row. A build stunted by 5000 less xp. Maybe I've just been wired by this game to be an overachiever after attempting to get lvl 30 for so long, but the playthrough that I did it in is one I shall not forget.
I always do Nar Shadaa first, then Dxun, Dantooine, Korriban then complete Dxun/Onderon. And somebody doesn’t know about the Hssis respawn glitch to max level at the end or near the end of the game, I see. Level 50 is the max cap.
Lightsaber upgrade crystals are determined by level, meaning if you go to Dantooine first you'll mostly be getting very low level upgrade crystals. Even color crystals are tied to this as well, so you may lose out on buying some of the more unusual ones.
Dxun first, the mandalorians even call it a training ground when they talk about it. It's quick, straightforward to clear, you can get 2 lightsabers, HK, and fast travel back to Ebon Hawk to trigger ship events. I got max influence with everyone before I entered the market quarter of Iziz. Not to mention, you can grab tons of credits here between swoop racing and starport visas (that you can spend at all the hyper expensive vendors on other planets). The game isn't very challenging and you don't need lightsabers early, but using them right away is fail RP anyway because you're trying to stay hidden. Nar Shadaa is a great second stop. The best story place to start using lightsabers given the bounty hunter truce and various perils the PC and crew are put in, plus you pick up your last 2 companions and don't make a pit stop across the galaxy to talk to some mercs for Mandalore because you already have him. The Twin Suns fight is brutal for new players without cheating if you do Nar Shadaa first, but if done second you can have jedi/sith Atton bust out his new training to deal with them. The Civil War event doesn't happen immediately after Onderon, so you have time to prep for it. I think it's a good second act closer rather than third.
I would also argue that technically the planet order will depend on your alignment whether you're light or dark-sided, especially if you care about the story making sense. Since you run into a trio of HK droids on every planet, it makes the most sense for light-siders to gradually build up to meeting G0-T0 by running into his agents first and then running into him on Nar Shadaa preferably as the third planet (I choose Korriban last regardless). For the Dark side it makes more sense for Nar Shadaa to be first since you get G0-T0 early, know his plans, and seemingly decide to work w/ the Exchange, knowing that the HK droids attacking you are deliberate bc he's testing your strength. It of course also makes sense as well if you'd helped stabilize G0-T0's operations on Telos and elsewhere rather than destroy them so the pattern of helping him remains consistent.
Thank you very much! I am real glad to hear they are being helpful. The game is a real good one. So much choice and ways to play. It may be 15 years old but I am stoked to hear that people are still playing it. :)
@@lespaz1197 Lol that's all good. You'll definitely wanna play it again. I playthrough all the time and notice things I never did the many times before. I think cheats are 100% okay in single player games. Adds a little fun and doesn't harm other players. Sometimes you just want your lightsaber right at the beginning of the game lol
@@CatDaddyGaming im running around with nihilus robes and lvl 50 with 100 wisdom and charisma before even talking to kreia the first time thou 😂😂 I get you thou it was more to get an idea of the game after i had passed kotor1
CatDaddy Gaming I just lost 39 hours of my character because I somehow lost 90% of my stuff including my lightsaber and all my hours playing this game sums up to 39 hours. All this because some stupid bug. steamcommunity.com/app/208580/discussions/0/882959799586927194/ Only other person who I have found with the same problem.
I like going (with female character) Dantooine, Duxn/Onderon, Nar Shaddaa, Back to Duxn/Onderon, then Korriban/M4-78, cuz i feel like it works best for the story, as well as difficulty, cuz you can leave the first planet with two jedi companions (Mical and Bao-Dur) and the early XP grind makes the harder, longer parts like the Onderon Civil War or Goto's flagship a lot easier.
Lol always good to do! Even easier when you love the game. I am still finding things in here I never knew about or never noticed before! Find out lots of tricks of the forums for the games too!
@@CatDaddyGaming That is one thing that seperates great games from average/bad games; when you discover things later you never knew when you first played.
I always do Dantooine, Nar Shaddaa, Dxun/Onderon, then Korriban. I've never actually used the Restored Content mod in my dozens of playthroughs, so next time I play, maybe I'll add that to my list. Dantooine lets me get the Player Crystal, Nar Shaddaa nets me Mira (I always play Light Side - I like being a hero, sue me), and the Dark Side world of Korriban just _feels_ like it should be last to me.
As a long time player I highly suggest playing with the restored content. It is pretty cool to see the little things they added (or should I say left out). I recommend TSLRCM to seasoned players more than fresh ones. Players very familiar with the game will appreciate the added content more in my opinion.
@@CatDaddyGaming My next playthrough is going to be with the restored content mod. I recently found a mod that I want to run that requires it. It lets you get Handmaiden while playing as a female character. I usually play as a male character, just for the sake of getting Handmaiden, as she's one of my favorite characters, but I also like playing as a female character, simply because the Jedi Exile Meetra Surik is canonically female, so being able to do both would be great for me. The mod requires the restored content mod, so it looks like that's what's going to be installed as well. Also, thanks for the ♥!
For my play throughs, I go to Dantooine first to pick up a lightsaber or 2 (don’t meet Vrook yet). Then, I head over to Korriban to pick up another lightsaber from Vash’s corpse. Once I’ve got my prestige class, I grind to lv 50 in the sith tomb. After that, it really just depends on how I want to play through the story.
For Dark Side playthrough, you definitely go to Nar Shadaa first. It is the best place to get many DS points. In fact, halfway through it you can easily hit 75% and unlock Visas boss encounter. You can also make Atton a Dark Jedi companion here. There's also so much to do with loads of XP to acquire. Also the shops have a lot of goodies to buy. And you can make a lot of credits here.
How are you liking it so far? I think I am going to spring for it on my Android device. Would be pretty cool to play it on the go. I also heard you can add the Restored Content onto it too. I am for sure going to get it soon so I can test it out.

Old comment but, really???!!? Maybe my character builds were awful but having to fight the Sith Lords with 1 melee and 2 marksmen I was constantly getting my ass whooped I must’ve fought them for over an hour before I finally won 😭😭
Yeah, I made the mistake of going to Daxun as my 4th planet before I got a lightsaber, it was a nightmare to complete, but it was my first playthrough, now I'm replying the game.
Replaying this game now. Kotor 1 & 2 made me a star wars fan. Initially i was just a gamer that loved gaming and got into RPGs. I had read that you can make choices that affect the game and companions etc etc so i decided to play it. I didnt care if it was a star wars game like some goofs would be put off by that. The description of what seemed like a great game was what got me and i have been a SW since. @ the time my don was around 3 yo and now almost 21 he finally played kotor 1 & 2 and he cant believe how amazing the stories wereafter years of me telling him. Thats my SW beginning 👍🍻
I've always done Dantooine first, but my route has changed after I've played the game multiple times. My very first playthrough, I didn't do any planet all the way through in one go. I would do a couple quests, bopping around different planets. Now I do Dantooine, Dxun and Early Onderon, Nar Shaddaa, Korriban, M4-78, then I wrap up the more epic parts of Dxun/Onderon (Civil War/Sith Temple) before completing the game.
Lol there is so much you can miss. That is probably why I have played it so much. Back in the day would beat the game and someone would say, that's cool but did you train your comapanions as Jedi? and I would have to play it all over again lol XD
I must've been in tune with the Force at 16, 'cause I got Handmaiden, Atton, Bao-Dur and Mira on my first playthrough. And by Force, I mean prima strategy guide
@@CatDaddyGaming I remember beating it many many times before I learned about exploits such as the infinite Hssiss (or however it is spelled) and crystal dup. + stacking and then being so excited that it was finally possible to max out your character before the end of the game
Nar Shaddaa -> Duxun/onderon -> Dantooine -> Onderon again -> Korriban. this is the route I usually take. I haven't played M4-78 because that mod doesn't work with "party swap", which is a mod that makes your game more "canon". you are able to recruit both Deciple and Handmaiden as both male and female. Sadly I can't get that mod to work on the steam version of the game :( so I gues I'll stick to male exile, because Handmaiden is far better than Deciple as a jedi. I say more "canon" because in the old canon version, both Mical and Briana were apprentices of Meetra Surik.
I go Korriban, Dantooine, M4-78, Dxun/Onderon, and last, Nar Shaddaa. I go this route 'cause I feel like it creates the right kind of buildup to the endgame
As a guy who’s modded the living shit out of Kotor 2, I did this route. I did Onderon, Nar Shaddah, Back to Onderon, then Dantoonie, and lastly Korriban. When it was unmodded, I always did Dantoonie, Onderon, Nar Shaddah, Onderon, then Korriban for the last one.
@@CatDaddyGaming Only issue ive had with this PC version is I have to constantly alt-tab and hold in W or S. Due to the locked-up after combat. Ive tried all refresh rates up to 240, v-sync. Low-quality, to HIGH. Still nothing. Not sure if something in the .ini file can fix this or what.
Sorry for the delayed reply. I have run into this myself. Gotta keep the FPS at 60 or lower. At least that was the issue causing rotating camera after every fight. Moved it to 60fps and never had a problem after.
I always do Onderon/Dxun first because Mandalore. Also It's just fun to do because it's not too difficult like Nar Shadaa and not too easy like Korriban. Then I usually go to Dantooine to talk to Akkere and get the HK-47 part and then go to Nar Shadaa and get the other ones. Then I G0-T0 Dantooine again and finish what I have to do there. After that I go back to Nar Shadaa to get the silver lightsaber crystal from Geeda and then I go to Onderon for one last time and then to Korriban. After that I just grind alot with Mandalore and T3-M4/HK-47
That is a great place to go first. You get all that experience from killing the wild creatures and get those level ups. I am a real huge fan of being able to ditch your current planet and do something else. I do the same thing but with Nar Shaddaa. Land there first, get companion influence and rob Vogga, then off to half do other planets lol. Getting HK as early as possible is also great. That witty darksided nature of his is too much fun to pass up!
I've played through KOTOR 2 more times than I should, making this comment before watching. I change what order I go to planets most times I play to see if anything different happens with X companion on X planet. I'd be surprised if Korriban was first planet to visit recommended, I think the rest can be done in any order but Dantooine might be too difficult (or difficulty makes it harder to enjoy) of first planet if playing dark side.
I loved this game since I was like 10 yo and I'm so happy that it received that much love form community and modders who restored much of it and the best part is that nowadays I can play it on my freaking phone! Unbelievable, with TSLRCM!! Hahahah now I only wanna check if it's possible to cramp the M4-78 in there too and I'm golden
I usually go Nar Shadda to get my lightsaber quick, but only for that. Then go to Dantoonie to get Crystals. Best Crystals are usually there to build up your sabers. I usually get to level 15 and change from Sentinel to Weapons Master before going to the academy ruins. I will usually finish Dantoonie. I then go back and do Nar Shaada. I usually go to Korriban and do the cave, build myself about 8 levels on the Hsiss monsters. Do first part of Dxun and Onderon, back to Korriban to finish it off, finish off Onderon. After that we start getting into the End Game.
Thank you very much! I remember playing this game when I was 14/15. You had to rely on knowledge from friends to figure stuff out. I had to have my brother help me with all the puzzles lol
Just completed my latest grey Jedi playthrough. I did Nar Shadaa first and it was such a pain in the ass, especially in the later part where you board Goto's ship, having Destroy Droid as an ability is REALLY important early game IMO. Nar Shadaa for a quick lightsaber, then I do Dxun till the end and exploring Izis city, the important part is when the Jedi Master on Onderon calls you for help, don't go immediately but do a part of Dantooine or even complete Korriban. Lorewise I really like Korriban after you're a bit in touch with the force, given the trials you endure and how much you learn during that time. Honestly Dantooine was the most boring part of the game for me, apart from really useful stuff you can loot in the sub level of the Jedi Temple and the aforementioned crystal cave. TL;DR Nar Shadaa>Dxun(Don't return after first visit to Izis city)>Korriban>Battle for Onderon>Dantooine (It's not bad to go to Dantooine for the crystal caves alone and then depart)
3 years later, but... I'm planning to do grey jedi playthrough and you have any tips? I have doubts mainly about getting Visas(she's my waifu lol), prestige class(is it okay playing without it?), Korriban cave(I heard, it requires light/dark side points). Did you try to keep balance throughout the game or got many-many side points(for Visas or prestige class) and then switched to neutral?
@@raivin7172 IMO I never had to worry about skill allocation or balancing sides. The only thing you gotta do to be unstoppable in both of these games is level up Force Speed as soon as you can, on master speed level you can combine that with the flurry attack to have like 8 attacks from 1 animation. You can three shot darth Sion that way lol
How u play a grey jedi route? In the cave before going to malachor V or in korriban I dont remember you need to have a high alignment either light or dark side. Unless you go one of them and then make your character grey again.
Just realized during my current run that you can have 3/4 HK parts before visiting any of the main worlds. You have two by the time you leave Atris' place, but instead of going to a new world, go back to Telos. Walk out of the ship and bam, part #3 secured. Then for the fourth, I went to Dantooine and bought the last part from the droid shop (which can be save scrubbed if the wrong part is on offer). BUT~ I could have just went straight to the temple and fought the HK droids there; I just saw the shop first and followed my heart. Don't regret it though bc then I was able to bring HK to the temple droids to knock out the first of three encounters with HK-47.
I always do Nar Shadaa last because of that segment where you play solo Atton, shit kills you early on. Maybe I should go it first, haven't done that in forever.
Dantooine, Korriban, Dxun, Nar Shadda, Dxun 2. I just do Dantooine first to get my lightsaber and hit level 15 to prestige then straight to Korriban for xp farm until around level 40. It makes it so much easier to get money and craft top tier upgrades when you're finding rare and high level gear for more than half of the game.
Sounds to me like a perfect excuse for another playthrough! Lol but thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words. I am just happy the videos are enjoyed and helpful! Cheers mate!
Maybe there were a few Lightside/Darkside point spots you missed along the way. If I am doing Lightside I can trigger Visas cutscene while I am on the Citadel Station before going down to Telos. Darkside though takes a little longer for me. Fastest for me Darkside was the first Darkside point gain I got on my first planet. So just right after the Telos Academy.
Nar Shadaa --> Dantooine --> Onderon --> Korriban is always my default order. I also play w/ the PartySwap mod which enables me to recruit both the Handmaiden and Disciple regardless of my character's gender, so I always go to Nar Shadaa & Dantooine first to recruit whoever I can make into a jedi and have that ready once I'm on Onderon.
Why thank you! That is much appreciated. I'm still making videos for this game too, should have one coming out in a few days going over the Robes and Jedi Armor so hopefully that will be helpful too!
KOTOR 2 really did feel "unfinished" in terms of the planets you can go to, M4 really isn't even a good planet so I'm glad it was scrapped really, but I wish it was scrapped for a BETTER planet instead. x-x
As Male: Nar Shaddaa, Dxun, Dantooine, Onderon, then Korriban As Female: Nar Shaddaa, Dantooine to pick up the Desciple, then leave right away, Dxun, Dantooine again, Onderon, then Korriban You do Nar Shaddaa first to max out Atton and train him as a Jedi and also to grab Mira/Hanharr as a companion and train Mira to become a Jedi, assuming you can max her out before leaving the planet, if not, you can do it after the first time on Dxun/Onderon as there are a few influences triggers there for her. the Desciple is easy, you can max him out before leaving the room you find him in, even if you are Dark side.
@@CatDaddyGaming I was also secondguessing how to make Mira a Jedi now that everybody is and just watch that video of yours. Great content and easy to understand . You got yourself a new subscriber after that fast and cool answer.
@@37shittyprismax94 Well thank you very much! I really appreciate it. I try to keep the videos short if I can but sometimes there is just too much information to give a short answer lol :)
I judt do korriban then dantooine first for the exp then once vrook get away i either fight or get stronger on nar shadda as a sith lord then come back for vrook
Well thank you for the kind words :) it is much appreciated, not a professional or anything but I do get more comfortable with editing the more I do them!
Nar Shaddaa, get your saber, leave. Next, start Dantooine and get my character and silver crystals. Then I go back to and finish Nar Shaddaa for companions. And finally I start Dxun/Onderon… the order after this is random depending on my personal interests in my playthroughs. I go through the planets like this because I feel it’s much more immersive (exploration/gameplay wise) to travel to and from planets instead of just doing everything on a planet then feeling like I have no reason to visit it again.
After Telos I'd like to do Dantooine -> Nar Shadda -> Onderon 1 -> Korriban and Onderon Civil War. This route allowed me to get all Lightsaber parts pretty early on. (Ps. It's a Restored Content Mod.)
Origonally i did Nar Shaddaa, Dantooine, Duxn/Onderon, Korriban, then back to Onderon I knew that being a lightsider would make Korriban a difficult place, but i found little to no sith lords there.
I've gone Korriban first many times. Not too difficult, sometimes I get comboed to death lol and sometimes baddie fight takes a few tries. Never do the Sith Cave though as my first planet. Way too hard as a fresh player, especially lightsided
Sadly how the vanilla game levels loot, it would be best to save Dantooine Crystal cave for later (after lv~21 or so) and save and reload for the loot you want, because once you enter an area for the FIRST time the game calculates the loot in the containers upon that first entry, so waiting to enter just that cave until a specific MC level ensures the best crystal drops possible
Restoration project Dantooine for crystals and the droids in front of temple for hk part First part of onderons quest Korriban Fight visas Craft lightsaber Fix hk Onderons second part Finish dantooine Ascend to prestige class somewhere around here or slightly before Nar shadaa and endgame
Dxun, Nar Shaddaa, Dantooine, Korriban, Onderon for me. The events on Dxun - fleet attack, bounty hunters, tec. just don't make sense if you did Nar Shaddaa already and changed the transponder code, defeated G0T0. By the time you leave Dxun the first time (if you meet Visas) you will have 3 light sabers. Nar Shadda second, get the rest of companions (unless female) and everyone is a Jedi by the time you are done with the planet. Dantooine third to be higher level and spawn better crystals as look. So many crystals to be found. Then Korriban and back the Dxun/Onderon with fully capable companions for the split. You will end up with multiple sabers after the first planet no matter which way you go. Route I chose is partly narrative driven, and part gets me to full companion conversion by end of second planet. I also want to hold Nar Shaddaa until I level enough to have AOE force powers to deal with the hordes of enemies as quickly as possible. 2nd is fine, will have force wave or force storm by then. I hit prestige class on Dxun prior to going to Iziz.
Whenever I was doing a dark side consular build, I would always do Dantooine first because you’re guaranteed Jedi Master Robes from killing Vrook, and even though his scaling can be a bit wonky, you can cheese the fight by having Bao Dur pick up all the mines before the Khoonda attack, then running behind the desk so Vrook’s Agro wears off. Then you move over just a bit, plant all the mines you have, get him aggro’d again and make him run through all the mines
We think a like my friend that is my favorite "stuck" strategy. When in doubt, get your enemy stuck on a corner and spam mines until you have a circle of death lol!!
Perfect strategy! I actually just did this in my last playthough. Darkside Consular but I wanted as many Jedi companions as possible. Played it cool at first so I could get Mira, then went full evil.
Always Nar Shaddaa first. Companions, influence, lightsabers, Jedi… it has everything!!! Then Dxun to gain influence with my Nar Shaddaa companions. Then Dantooine for lightsaber crystals and Disciple if female (plus gain influence with mandalore), and Korriban/m4-78 last as it is the hardest. 2nd round Dxun usually after Dantooine. I also don’t kill all the innocents on Telos (Vula, Man with the footlocker) so I can come back with mandalore and do this for influence
I finished KOTOR 2 for the first time a few days ago was really loving it but the ending did feel rushed for me was so confused about the droid and bao dur scene
Yeah I agree the ending was a bit weird but I feel it did leave an opening for Kotor 3. I did like how Remote made the sacrifice for the team. Sad but noble. You should try beating it again with TSLRCM. It adds an extra scene onto the end! Not much but definitely super cool to see!

No lost files so they tried to make it as they thought the devs might want it. I have over 30 mods for this game. Most are reskins or retextures for a crisper look. You can check out some of my Kotor 2 Mod videos I have on here. I also have the mod I'm using in my discord. Most "new" content is fan made. Some is really good, some is okay. Fun to test out though. New experiences in this game are great!
Wow only when seeing it in such short succession I realised how random the lightsabers are given to you in TSL. In KotOR1 you found them in reasonable places and could loot them like normal items: On dead dark jedi and on a mandalorian that was killing several jedi before. The "remake your lightsaber first before all the world starts dropping you new ones" feels very odd.
After Telos I always go: Nar Shaddaa Dantooine Dxun/Onderon Korriban then back to Dantooine. The only apprentice I ever train is Brianna, and always on the Dark Side.
Yes I have! I actually have a playthrough that I dedicated to Blaster Build Jedi. I only got about 10 hours into it then got distracted by other games. I will have to jump back into it and give it a finish. There is one guy in my Discord who was doing an unarmed Jedi playthrough. No weapons, just his fists lol I will have to check in and see how he liked it!
Did you know that you can use visa to make duplicate lightsabers, simply build a lightsaber with all upgrades then arm visa with it then exit the upgrade, then go back into it then click the color crystal but don't change the color then click OK then assemble exit out then look at your inventory you should know have a second identical lightsaber, then save the game and reload it the new lightsaber can now be equipped, each time you change the color exit out first then go back in and click the color crystal as indicated but you can only do this one time for each color, once all colors are made place them into a storage container, then repeat the whole process.
I have heard of this duplication method before. There is also a really cool one that you can use to turn non-Jedi companions into Jedi. Like Mandalore and Han Harr. I usually never do duplication glitches though cuz they can occasionally bug out your game. I have the KSE and can just add sabers into my inventory so I don't need to do the glitches.
I highly recommend using a easy companion influence mod so you don’t have to figure out who you need in your party and when in order to increase influence. Unless that’s a part you enjoy doing of course.
That mod is a good one if you have trouble getting all companions into Jedi. I just recently made a video of all the Jedi Compnaion Influence Location as well. Hoping it will be super helpful for the Xbox players. I've also heard of people just manually changing companion influence to 100 in the Kotor Save Editor. But you can corrupt your save if you do it incorrectly lol
CatDaddy Gaming. I’ll have to watch that. I’ve been kinda wanting to do a play through without it but I’ve forgot where the influence checks are for the other characters besides Atton. Great video though I’m glad to see this game still has an active fan base
My route is Nar Shadda, Dxun and Onderon Part 1, Dantooine, Korriban, Onderon Part 2. I was playing as a Male, but if I was playing as a Female I’d probably swap Dantooine and Dxun/Onderon.
That is good info to know! I noticed you stopped getting one but haven't played vanilla version in a very long time so hadn't confirmed. It's probably cuz they added Kaevee (the padawan) into the enclave and just made it so she gives you the part or saber.
@@player2-lightwater914 Not 100% sure. From everything I have read, that mission was bugged in the vanilla version of the game and that's why you can only complete with restored content mod since it patches that bug. Haven't tested myself though.
@@CatDaddyGaming Is it? I have read that it's possible to complete but didn't mentioned whether it's vanilla or restored mod. Not even steps on how to complete
I like to hit M478 last. I feel it ties up the Telos fuel situation story wise pretty nicely. Coruscant is dealers choice. Since there isn't any added story it is just fun to explore. You get an INSANE amount of loot here so I would say depends on your style. Hit it first if you want the beefed up goodies. Hit it close to last if you don't want to take the shortcut of getting crazy good gear early on.
Dude is your channel magic or something cuz I just watched your video on lightsaber locations and I was thinking what would be the best route to go through the game Planet by planet and then that video pops up
Tip: If you repair the Air Speeder and don't leave the Refugee Sector the normal way, the Red Sun segment doesn't occur. So you can just build your lightsaber, get the influence you need to convert Atton and/or Bao-Dur, fix the speeder, and then leave.
I have always saved dantooine last for a number of reasons 1: it was boring in kotor 1 so I delayed its inevitably as long as possible 2: you get better loot on the planet later on 3: all the masters end up on the planet so it minimises backtracking 4: nobody likes vrook
It sure is! You have the game for PC? You can get it from the Steam Workshop if you have the Steam Version. Deadlystream.com or Nexusmods.com will also have it available for PC versions. I dont believe Xbox users can access it unfortunately!
@@player2-lightwater914 Yes they can! I believe they are around $10 unless Xbox has a sale. You can buy it from the Store on your Xbox One. Xbox is doing the right thing supporting backwards compatibility for original Xbox games! Its possible the OG disc still works too but I haven't tested to confirm. For sure is available digital though! 👍🏻
@@CatDaddyGaming Starting from Xbox 360 onward support backward compatibility. I just wasn't sure if Xbox One can do that since this game is the original Xbox game.
M4-78 is part of a separate mod that works along side the restored content mod. It's called The M4-78 Restoration Project. It's on Steam and DeadlyStream.com. Definitely worth checking out if you are a fan of the story.
during my play though of the game I managed to driver Visas part way thought Telos. If you play a male PC then be sure to get influences with The Handmaiden before its too late are you will lose your chance at turning her into a Jedi Guardian. Krien will sink her hook into her a shut you off from her the rest of the game if you.
I'm creating a new thread because the other one was getting pretty long lol. The sith assassins glitch must have been created within these last 5 mods I added. But all of them are basically reskins.
NVM, I discovered it was a problem with the graphics option "frame buffer effects". Now I just need to figure out how my "red and black miner uniform" got changed back to the original color overnight somehow.
I gave up I still can't figure it out so maybe I'll try again after I finish this game and make another. Do you know how the security spikes work for t3m4? Why can I get some at certain times but not all the time?
@@Suspence3 Consider hopping in the Discord server my friend. I see those messages a lot more than I do the UA-cam comments. Sometimes UA-cam doesn't like to notify me of new comments. I am not sure how the computer spikes work. I know he gives you them but I also know it is not an unlimited source. I don't use any lightsaber mods though. Was never disappointed with how the sabers looked so I didn't feel the need to use a mod for them.
Unfortunately you can not. It is a mod that you add onto your game. Console versions don't let you add mods to your game since you can't mess with the games files. It goes on sale on Steam several times a year. Consider getting a PC copy in the future if you wanna check it out. The game is old so most PCs can run it. I know not everyone has a laptop or PC but definitely worth checking out in the future if you really enjoy the game and it's story.
I like to do Dantooine, Nar Shaddaa, Dxun, Korriban, then Onderon for role playing reasons. It just makes more sense to me to go to Dantooine first. And it makes sense to run out of Korriban then go to the big battle on Onderon.
That's ironic because that's the planet route I normally do in Kotor 2. In my case though it's to get my lightsaber and companions first.
@@imperialwyvern what route is that
@@rhycebell9832 Dantooine, Nar Shaddaa, Dxun, Korriban, and Onderon. That's the route I usually take in Kotor 2.
Why
@@imperialwyvern Why do you use that route?
I would definitely reccommend nar shaddaa first. You can get your first lightsaber, make atton & bao dur jedi and by the time you leave you are almost ready to make handmaiden a jedi + you get mira too. Some of the parts can be quite hard with lower level characters however, I think its worth it!
I completely agree! I usually always go Nar Shaddaa first. Get my saber and then convert Atton and Bao-Dur. I usually bounce after and come back when I am stronger. Since it is one of the longer planets, I will occasionally get it out of they way first.

Me, about 13 hours in on my very first playthrough and watching this video: "Wait, I can do that?"
But seriously, it appears KotoR 2 is even more in depth than the original was (not a slight against it though, I had an amazing time with my first playthrough of KotoR 1 about a month ago).
If you wanna play on PC it really doesn’t take that powerful of a PC to run
@@InsideAssassin2 even a potato or toaster pc can run it. yeah
Dantooine is always my first planet.
Quick tip for anyone trying to get a specific lightsaber type (i.e single lightsaber, double saber, short saber) before one of the lightsaber rewards do a quick save (F4) and then get the saber, it's random each time so if you get a lightsaber when you wanted a double saber just hit F5 and try again.
but who would want a double saber? I mean sure, they look cool but its far inferior compared to using two sabers instead.
My first playthrough I made the mistake of going double blade. Never did it again.

I really like the short saber off-hand and normal lightsaber combo!
I usually go Nar Shadda, duxon/ondoron, dantoine, ondoron again, koriban, m478
Also the fastest lightsaber build is as follows, commit to lightside, help the ithorians on telos as the leader will reward you with a lightsaber part as part of the main quest, go to narshada, get off the Ebon Hawk and get back on to trigger visas cutscene then help the ithorian on the docks
@@CatDaddyGaming thanks for the info!
@@dgrunklesamiii4615 ... you are also in for needlessly fight the first Mandalorians you encounter on Dxun?
Just started playing Kotor 2 for the first time and I love your vids.

I think Nar Shaddaa>Dxun/Onderon (Part 1)>Dantooine>Dxun/Onderon (Part 2)>Korriban route is canon.

Me watching this video after playing for 20 hours: Holy shit you can do that? I've miss a lot!
And now I really wish I'd saved my original copy of the game

TL;DR
Nar Shadaa>Dxun(Don't return after first visit to Izis city)>Korriban>Battle for Onderon>Dantooine (It's not bad to go to Dantooine for the crystal caves alone and then depart)
I just finished dxun/onderon first visit, then nar shaada, then dantooine, then korriban, then onderon/dxun second visit
I always do Nar Shadaa last because of that segment where you play solo Atton, shit kills you early on. Maybe I should go it first, haven't done that in forever.
Yeah I can agree with you there. I usually go Nar Shaddaa first and that Atton part with the HK's can be brutal early on in the game!
I always had to use stealth and mines in those sequences. Canonically, nar shaddaa is the first, but it is still the hardest.
@@DolphinPain Mine traps and grenades are a MUST before the XP beefs you out!
@@CatDaddyGaming not to screw with you all but you could always run behind the bar and they couldn’t hit you
@@JohnGlenn2327 Wow
The planet route that I like going with in KOTOR 2 paragus, telos, Dantooine, Korriban, dxun, nar shaddaa, then onderon
This game (patched) is one of the best video games ever. 👍
Much agreed!!
Love your kotor guides man thx!
Wish I would’ve watched all your videos before my latest playthrough😂 you deserve more subs for sure, these videos are great
Sounds to me like a perfect excuse for another playthrough! Lol but thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words. I am just happy the videos are enjoyed and helpful! Cheers mate!
I spend hundred of hours on this game trying every possibility.
The fastest i triggered visas i was only on Telos' academy... no joke.
Your my savior for all these tutorials
Lop very glad to hear the videos are being helpful!
Another reason to do Dantooine before your first visit to Dxun is to buy a bomb in the former to use on a wall in the latter.
Damn I just found your channel and I love it. You have a new sub.
Why thank you! That is much appreciated. I'm still making videos for this game too, should have one coming out in a few days going over the Robes and Jedi Armor so hopefully that will be helpful too!
KOTOR 2 really did feel "unfinished" in terms of the planets you can go to, M4 really isn't even a good planet so I'm glad it was scrapped really, but I wish it was scrapped for a BETTER planet instead. x-x
As Male: Nar Shaddaa, Dxun, Dantooine, Onderon, then Korriban
As Female: Nar Shaddaa, Dantooine to pick up the Desciple, then leave right away, Dxun, Dantooine again, Onderon, then Korriban
You do Nar Shaddaa first to max out Atton and train him as a Jedi and also to grab Mira/Hanharr as a companion and train Mira to become a Jedi, assuming you can max her out before leaving the planet, if not, you can do it after the first time on Dxun/Onderon as there are a few influences triggers there for her. the Desciple is easy, you can max him out before leaving the room you find him in, even if you are Dark side.
Thx for the guide Man. I'm still playing my first run on Kotor 2 and have felt some things don't add up. Cheers from Mexico
Hope this helps! Lining up the perfect route is quite helpful! Many playthroughs are way fun too!
I like to break up the linear sections as much as possible, Dantooine, Nar Shaddaa, Korriban, Dxun
Verry informative and well produced videos
You have a talent for video producing
Good job
Well thank you for the kind words :) it is much appreciated, not a professional or anything but I do get more comfortable with editing the more I do them!
I started playing this game again because of you thanks bro 👌🏾
Glad the video made you want to play the game again! It is super fun to come back to and replay after a long break! :)
Just a quick bit, You either get lightsabers, small lightsabers, double blades, or part for lightsabers on each part. You just had awesome RNG
After Telos I'd like to do Dantooine -> Nar Shadda -> Onderon 1 -> Korriban and Onderon Civil War. This route allowed me to get all Lightsaber parts pretty early on. (Ps. It's a Restored Content Mod.)
Origonally i did Nar Shaddaa, Dantooine, Duxn/Onderon, Korriban, then back to Onderon
I knew that being a lightsider would make Korriban a difficult place, but i found little to no sith lords there.
I've gone Korriban first many times. Not too difficult, sometimes I get comboed to death lol and sometimes baddie fight takes a few tries. Never do the Sith Cave though as my first planet. Way too hard as a fresh player, especially lightsided
Okay but the phrase 'little to no sith lords there' got a genuine chuckle out of me
Thanks man im new to this amazing game im lovin it im about finished on peragus i just got off the harbinger
Hope you love it! Really is a classic! Excited for you to experience the whole game.
Very true. This is a great point for Xbox players or anyone locked to a vanilla version!
this is good to know as is just bought this on my xbox to play....i already have the first one on disc so yeah
I wish I saw a similar guide for KOTOR 1
Restoration project
Dantooine for crystals and the droids in front of temple for hk part
First part of onderons quest
Korriban
Fight visas
Craft lightsaber
Fix hk
Onderons second part
Finish dantooine
Ascend to prestige class somewhere around here or slightly before
Nar shadaa and endgame
Nar Shaddaa is always my first to get Hanharr as HK-47 asap as dark side anyway
I like to hop around a bit for the influence points to get jedi sooner and then finish Nar Shadda or Dantooine first
I recommend Nar shadda first then Dantoonie. Makes sense canonically wise
I don't really have any knowledge of what is actually canon.
My only knowledge of this Era comes from the game itself.
My recommeded Order for each Gender is:
Male: Nar Shadaa - Dxun - Onderon - Dantooine - Korriban
Female: Dantooine - Nar Shadaa - Dxun - Onderon - Korriban
Thanks for putting game play of my savefiles maybe il try one of these planet routes 😊❤️ (I'm Luke BTW xD)
When in doubt, get your enemy stuck on a corner and spam mines until you have a circle of death lol!!
i always start on nar shada as nuetral as possible to get mira then go dark side from there
Perfect strategy! I actually just did this in my last playthough. Darkside Consular but I wanted as many Jedi companions as possible. Played it cool at first so I could get Mira, then went full evil.
Thanks!
I go to nar shadda first as you can get your lightsaber, and make Bao dur & Atton a Jedi before you're even halfway done with the planet
@@CatDaddyGaming yhh i wish I could but I’ve been playing on the asypre iPad remaster so no pc mods for me 😔 but apparently they’re developing KOTOR 3 now
@@Sav._52 Is that the iOS mobile version? Cuz they made TSLRCM for the mobile versions and it does work with the iOS version! I have heard the rumors around Kotor 3 but I think they are false. I think they are making a Kotor like RPG but it will be for the HIGH Republic and not for the Old Republic. I would bet heavily that that is what they are working on. I don't think we are lucky enough to get Kotor 3 while they are pushing the High Republic so hard. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
@@CatDaddyGaming I will deffo check that out then after I replay KOTOR 1 thanks! And yh you have a point about the high republic game. It may not even be bad if it’s made but still a shame. I’m just looking forward to the mass effect remaster now.
@@Sav._52 Very nice. I'm trying to play through Kotor 1 again too. I don't know it as well as the second one. Yeah I don't think it will be bad at all. Even if High Republic is bad I bet a game on it would still be way fun. Haven't played Mass Effect yet but I hear great things about it. So I may pick up the remaster so I can see what the fuss is about!
What mods are you using other than Restored Content? Also it's been a hot minute since I played, but I don't remember that extra plant next to Korriban when I used Restored Content.
Sorry for the delayed reply. M478 is an add on mod that works with TSLRCM. Developers intended on making M478 but never did. TSLRCM is restored content found in the game, M478 is a fan made project.
After Telos I always go:
Nar Shaddaa
Dantooine
Dxun/Onderon
Korriban
then back to Dantooine.
The only apprentice I ever train is Brianna, and always on the Dark Side.
Have you heard of a Blaster Jedi Route ? I am trying to beat the game with no lightsabers. I know it sounds insane but I like a challenge.
Korriban - Nar Shadaa - Dxun - Dantooine - Onderon for me
I love the first part and it's over
Videos are way more fun with some laughs thrown in!
My route is Nar Shadda, Dxun and Onderon Part 1, Dantooine, Korriban, Onderon Part 2. I was playing as a Male, but if I was playing as a Female I’d probably swap Dantooine and Dxun/Onderon.
Jerron no longer supplies a lightsaber fixture part if you have TSLRCM.
That is good info to know! I noticed you stopped getting one but haven't played vanilla version in a very long time so hadn't confirmed. It's probably cuz they added Kaevee (the padawan) into the enclave and just made it so she gives you the part or saber.
@@CatDaddyGaming Is it possible to complete the quest "Redemption" in vanilla KOTOR 2 (not the restored mod)?
@@player2-lightwater914 Not 100% sure. From everything I have read, that mission was bugged in the vanilla version of the game and that's why you can only complete with restored content mod since it patches that bug. Haven't tested myself though.

What about m4-78 and coruscant from the mods?
I like to hit M478 last. I feel it ties up the Telos fuel situation story wise pretty nicely. Coruscant is dealers choice. Since there isn't any added story it is just fun to explore. You get an INSANE amount of loot here so I would say depends on your style. Hit it first if you want the beefed up goodies. Hit it close to last if you don't want to take the shortcut of getting crazy good gear early on.
Dude is your channel magic or something cuz I just watched your video on lightsaber locations and I was thinking what would be the best route to go through the game Planet by planet and then that video pops up
Lol that's the magic of the UA-cam algorithm! I tried to cover some of the highly asked questions since they were sought after most in the forums.
Nar Shaddaa (Part 1), Dantooine, Dxun/Onderon, Nar Shaddaa (For real this time), Korriban, Dxun/Onderon 2: Electric Boogaloo
Tip: If you repair the Air Speeder and don't leave the Refugee Sector the normal way, the Red Sun segment doesn't occur. So you can just build your lightsaber, get the influence you need to convert Atton and/or Bao-Dur, fix the speeder, and then leave.
I like this
I have always saved dantooine last for a number of reasons
1: it was boring in kotor 1 so I delayed its inevitably as long as possible
2: you get better loot on the planet later on
3: all the masters end up on the planet so it minimises backtracking
4: nobody likes vrook
Is the restored content mod still available in 2020? If yes, where would I find int?
It sure is! You have the game for PC? You can get it from the Steam Workshop if you have the Steam Version. Deadlystream.com or Nexusmods.com will also have it available for PC versions. I dont believe Xbox users can access it unfortunately!
@@CatDaddyGaming Can KOTOR 1 or 2 be played on Xbox One?
@@player2-lightwater914 Yes they can! I believe they are around $10 unless Xbox has a sale. You can buy it from the Store on your Xbox One. I like to do
Dantooine, Dxun, korriban, ondaron, Nar shadda
On the switch version since I have cheats I do

during my play though of the game I managed to driver Visas part way thought Telos.

@@Suspence3 Consider hopping in the Discord server my friend. I see those messages a lot more than I do the UA-cam comments. Sometimes UA-cam doesn't like to notify me of new comments. With this bonus m4-78 planet, can you not access it if you are playing it on Xbox 360 (I’m using backward compatibility)
Unfortunately you can not. It is a mod that you add onto your game. Console versions don't let you add mods to your game since you can't mess with the games files. It goes on sale on Steam several times a year. Consider getting a PC copy in the future if you wanna check it out. The game is old so most PCs can run it.
