@@logeeman8 quick question. At 12:05 your critical hit build has MOF added but you calculate keen into the crit chance. Doesn’t MOF remove the keen stat?
@@Lol-zw8ks You are right as rain on that good thing to know I've been lying to all these people lmaooo. Option 1 would be use a bondar for stun and get crits I guess or Option 2 use no Mantle. Good catch tho!
@@logeeman8 no worries, we all miss stuff from time to time lol. The strat I’m using currently is same build without MoF with an ally using bondar and MoF to proc the sneak attack bonus more consistently (I picked dueling this time, otherwise I’d just dual wield and have another blade as a primer. Works ridiculously well at any rate. Been two shotting most enemies I’ve come across so far 😅
I am very much an amateur and still getting the hang of taking audio and editing it all to be smooth as well as script language. Working on the entire process, but I appreciate it!
This video was recommend to me and I like this! Take my sub I hope you make the same videos for Kotor 2. Also I always thought the best crystal combination for light side was Upari + Solari+ Mantle of the force
Also, the Damind and Rubat crystals with MotF don't add up, just the higher one is used. And Solari loses its LS prerequisite with HotG (possibly MotF too), so it can be used freely. Also regarding crits, only dice are doubled. So when your lightsaber has for example +1d6 and +2 flat damage from crystals for 5-24 total (2d8+1d6+2), on a crit that goes to 8-46, or 4d8+2d6+2. The Opila crystal without Nextor isn't so great. Without Keen and with Master Critical Strike, you have a 40% crit chance (Keen adds another 10%). This means that 40% of the time you get +2-12. This is less than a simple +1d6 from a Sigil. Only with Keen from the Nextor, the damage bonus is equal to Sigil, becoming 0.5 x 2d12 on average. (That 1d6 of Sigil however are also doubled on crits, so Sigil is more like 1.5-9 when combined with Nextor and Master Critical Strike.) Well, at least Opila got it's flat damage to go along, that helps it out a fair bit. (And ironically doesn't help crits)
It does. I believe I mentioned it prior but I think looking back I separated the Heart and the Mantle into light and dark side when it shouldnt have mattered huh. Good looks
Now, I'm new to this game, so this might be a weird question, but are the short lightsabers actually trash? I don't know which equation you'd go about using to prove or disprove that statement, so I'm gonna take your word for that. (Great video, by the way)
Big PG, I did legit 0 math for this besides damage. The short lightsaber is reduced from a 2D8 to a 2D6 for the sake of being balanced. This reduces the chance for a miss in your off-hand, which is good for early game on your character. However once you reach the end of the game you should have a decent Dex or Str with good crystals and master dual wield if you were going that route, so by that time your chance to hit can be in the insane ranges of +30 or up if you have the right gear equipped. The damage loss isnt worth anything to me in my eyes but I can see if you dont have master it could be better. Hope this helps!
@@logeeman8 There is, of course, the ultimate reason that "this is a role playing game, so you should use what you want" but i also get that this is a guide focused on giving information to optimize a build.
@@Furiora I agree whole heartedly! There's nothing more important when playing a game than you enjoying playing it. Its the same with people trashing summons in Elden Ring. If you enjoy beating the game a little easier with what the game gives you then do it and have fun playing your way!
@@logeeman8 i dont really think that it is busted. i just think that everything in the base game is underpowered and sucks which is why they had to add a DLC to fix it and give you more of a fair chance against Malak on the hard mode. KOTOR 2 fixed these problems nicely, the gear is better and the game actually gives you a chance to obtain it by buying it or looting it from enemies or lockers instead of just parts, spikes and medpacs
I just came here to say thanks... and now I'm that same man lost in the sauce.
That’s what I call a full video viewer. You got really lost in the sauce. Appreciate it a lot!!
Just getting both the Heart Of The Guardian and Mantle Of The Force this video helped a ton on lightsaber builds and combos
Glad to see it help!

Im a kotor fan. Over 20 years now.
Love the vids man, idk how you don’t have hundreds of thousands of subs

The Paralyze effect has an advantage over Stun: It is not countered by immunities to mind-altering, which some enemies possess.
Can't believe I'm still playing this game
Somehow I feel as I will always return in some capacity lol
Lmao I'm doing like my 131st play on my switch rn 😭
I replay this and KOTOR 2 at least once a year. No shame in it!

Deciding between making my own lightsaber purple, or making Jolees lightsaber purple….
Or easier you both run purple and once you get heart and mantle your colors change👀
the baragwin sword is way better than lightsabers for a melee build and much cheaper to max it.
Of course it’s the best cuz it comes from Suvam. That’s why I ban him in my challenge runs haha. But agree that thing is busted!

What does keen mean or do?
Explained in another video, but it doubles the base critical hit range of a weapon. (weapon with base 5% is now 10 and base 10% is now 20)
Swords>Lightsabers
I Love doing a sword play through and there are a bunch of good ones that I think can do even more damage than lightsabers
You might enjoy the next video 🙂
