It's Pocket pistol, not a Target pistol. It's SUPPOSED to have a heavy trigger!
I still carry my 2011 original LCP .. i carry it to work which does not allow Firearms that little thing has been everywhere .. even NYC 😊
I’ve carried my LCP for 12 years. It’s nice that it fits in my pocket.
I’ve had both and both have great attributes to each, but I still carry the original all the time. Never had any issues with it, except when new and breaking in sometime I’d have to bump the slide home, but once I shot a couple hundred rounds, flawless. I’ve had since 2013 and carry it daily, everywhere. I’m word I guess but it’s my favorite carry gun.
I have both, and favor the original LCP (10th anniversary edition) for pocket carry. I prefer the heavier trigger.
LCP II chambered in 380 is now discontinued. No doubt to make room in the market for more LCP Max purchases. LCP II chambered in 22lr is still being produced.
Thanks for the video. I was given the 10th anniversary LCP 380 as a gift and I love it
Had my LCP for about 10 yrs, never a single failure w/FMJ or HP. I p/u the MAX, pretty much the same as the LCPII, this past Spring @ a gunshow and it has been 100% reliable too. Both carry easily in the supplied pocket holster.
I have a Glock 45,43 , life card and tarus G2c in my pistol collection. The original Ruger is my favorite. When you can’t have a gun, it’s there.
I own the 1st version and now the LCP Max. The original was a challenge to shoot well but it was reliable as heck, shot everything I loaded in the magazine. It served it’s purpose well at the time, a small defensive weapon easy to conceal. After shooting the Max, wow what a difference it was. I have the LCP II but in .22 caliber. Now that is just another great shooting weapon that is a little finicky with certain .22 ammo. Once you figure out what cycles well, it too is a great small concealable pocket pistol. I intend to order the LCP II in .380 just to have all three but I really love the Max.
We also have the LCP II in .22 caliber. Great little gun. That's what my wife prefers. Thanks for the comment!
Great video. Thanks for making it.
The LCP Custom addressed the complaints while keeping the double-action trigger, which I prefer for pocket carry. And, they added front serrations, improved extractor and a loaded chamber indicator. It also works with the 7 round magazine which provides a better grip.
Mcarbo sell a stronger recoil spring for the LCP, solved my feeding issues.
In 2013 they made the original LCP better . Better sights and trigger . I prefer it to the LCP II . I have large hands and installed the hogue grip system on my 2013 original LCP . I have a 10 rounds dependable and truly tested backup mag for it . Probably the only gun in my safe that never had any kind of failures or malfunctions over the years .
Ive owned all 3 they're all great for what they are. I now only have the max i carry it as my pocket backup gun. Gotta get the .22 to try out to
Thnx and Best Wishes!
I have a later model lcp with the improved trigger and I have no issues with it. It works fine for its intended purpose and costs less than the lcp II. The added width does make a difference when deep concealing the weapon. As long as you maintain and keep the lcp properly lubed, cleaned, and run it through it’s break in period the lcp runs. I have large hands and the grip is adequate on the lcp. My lcp has serrations both front and rear so you have an older model lcp. They made improvements to the lcp prior to transitioning to the lcp II. Bottom line for me is that the added cost and increased size does not make me consider upgrading. The lcp II MAX is a different story, though the increased size still bothers me personally.
Very informative, thanks for this vid
Glad it was helpful!
I'm always a sucker for watching vids about my LCP. lol But the reasons you're liking the LCP II is that its a bigger, wider gun with larger sites. That's not why you buy a tiny pocket pistol. You want the smallest, slimmest you can get.
the lcp 2 is still super tiny and night and day better than the lcp 1 in self defense ur liable for every shot minimum sights and a heavy trigger is a liability to u
@@zacheryhole3294 whatever
@@marks.3798😂 when you say that you automatically lost.
Imagine coming on a comment thread and trying to tell people why they do what they do and what they want when they do it😂
Get back your car 🤡, the parade is over.
Good video, very helpful. I still have the original LCP made by Kel-Tec model 3AT! And then I skipped the LCP, the LCP improved, and the LCP2 and went for the LCP max. The MAX is now my go-to pocket pistol.
I want a relatively heavy trigger on a gun that small.
thats something a non shooter would say
@@zacheryhole3294that’s something an insecure kid would say to try to make people think he shoots a lot.
Only little kids think others care how much they shoot.
Nobody cares kiddo.
@@guaporeturns9472 nobody with any gun experience wants a heavy trigger pull that's a fact.
@@zacheryhole3294 Well I’m pretty sure I have more gun experience than you and I prefer a bit heavier trigger in a pocket carry LCP. The fact that you speak in absolutes shows how young and or inexperienced you are. Now sit down and 🤐 , the adults are talking now
@@guaporeturns9472 my opinions must've hurt ur feelings sorry little man dont cry its ok
I love the look of the LCP II! I am all about aesthetics, even though it doesn't really matter with guns (your attacker is not going to be like "Oh, your gun is ugly!") but for me, it's a feeling of satisfaction. The LCP II is just very appealing to my eyes.
Your point is well taken. There’s something pleasurable about using tools or guns that just give you that satisfaction. I totally get it!
Yes! If you are wearing it everyday, you don’t want to hate looking at it
a worthwhile upgrade is a 13 pound recoil spring. the oem is 11 and my lcp2 runs flawlessly with the stronger spring.
You, my friend, make these comments worthwhile. Very helpful. Thank you!

I have had the one and the two. The two is horrible, very square, it may work better but it is very ugly and I go more for the appearance than for the functionality. The one shoots very well and I haven't had any jams, that's enough for me.
haha same here. The original is a good looking gun. The newer one looks so bad. I know bad guys dont care how your gun looks but I do. Im sexy so my gun gotta be sexy too lol
That will be a nice if you put together to see the thickness of each other, side by side
I thought I did in the video..
We have a kydex holster that is compatible with LCP/lcp2 and we are looking for your cooperation to help us shoot a video review. Would you be interested in learning more?
I think I just received an email from y'all about this too. I'll respond there.
Do u think the first lcp is worth the difference in price, or should i just go with the lcp 2.
They don’t even make the lcp 2 in 380 anymore.
They stopped producing them. Probably would cut into max sales. If you want the single stack there’s the original lcp@@PeterAngles
The LCP slide does not lock back after last round fired, does the LCP 2?
Good question. I've heard that it's supposed to, but that has NOT been my experience. Sorry I can't be of help on that one! :)
Yes, the 2 does. Only with lcp2 magazines.
I have the Ruger LCP 10th Anniversary edition
Nice vid. The newer one is ugly. The old one is good looking. I know its a dumb reason to pick a gun but I am superficial like that.
lol, throw the LCP Custom into the mix.
On the OG LCP it's not a bad idea to stuff some paper towel in the firing pin hole and then polish the... breach face I guess it's called. The face where the round slides up in position to be fired.
The feed ramp? I did polish that, but still had problems. 🤷🏻♂️
I don't have any issues with the original LCP
Maybe mine was just a lemon.
Man everyone got a paragraph let me make it simple I got the 380 moonshine edition no don’t put it in your pocket it’s a light compact pistol make it comfortable to you it’s a comfortable gun and if your just learning I recommend it
I have one i like it
I am a heavy man 5 ft 8 in 280 lbs. For summer no one questions wearing a Hawaiian shirt and no one questions a heavy guy wearing a shirt
Oose fitting. I love my lcp
.380 LCP . Hard to beat it.
I’ve got an earlier model and don’t have problems with federal ammunition. It’s basically a house/yard gun for me and sometimes a backup gun for when I carry a larger pistol. I never travel from home with THIS as my main carry, not ever. It’s a pocket, get off me gun. I have seen a man die from round nose 380 that lodged under his skin on the exit side because it didn’t have any energy left after going through his body, so anything can be effectively used to protect yourself, even gravel in a slingshot 🤕🤛 If it’s all you can afford then I would carry it everywhere, but if you are like me and have a option then carry bigger. You don’t want to be in a situation where you’re outgunned by another pistol and you could have had more with you. Wearing a t shirt and shorts isn’t as important at that moment, and you will regret that decision.
Where is your thumb where you fire the gun. Your not holding back the slide with your thumb ?
It’s clear of the slide.
okie dokie@@provide_protect
I EDC this lcp original, but for hiking in bear country I carry a 38 special Smith snoby😳🤣✌️🍺🇺🇸
Neither .38 Spc nor .380 is enough gun when facing a bear. Even 9mm is inadequate. .357mag is the MINIMUM for that. .44mag, or .45, or 10mm would be even better.
@@gregb6469 Some confirmed kills of brown and black bear ,with a 38
@@jar6588-- How big, or old, or sick, was the bear? How many rounds did it take? If a bear is charging, you may only have enough time to take one or two shots; a more powerful handgun would be better. Hopefully you never need to find out if .38spc is enough.
@@gregb6469 nope im a city boy 🤣
Yepers ✌️🇺🇸
👍
I prefer the original
Also the lcp 2 have 10rd
And then came the MAX
ugh, pulling the trigger with your hand in front without clearing the weapon first is so sketch.
Thanks.. just so I can learn.. can you give the time stamp for when I did this?
We came here to see the difference between the two.. not listen to you ramble on and on about why you might want a pocket pistol
You’re just trolling.. you obviously didn’t watch the video.
Been carrying the original since it came out. It's not a paper target weapon. It's designed for up close and personal combat. In an actual combat situation, trigger pull and sights won't be noticed. Like Glocks, a safety on the trigger is no safety at all. Making the trigger easier to pull when drawing is a good way to shoot yourself.
The background music is absurd
Yeah.. will do better in the future. Sorry about that.
Better with out that makes no sense
