As the owner of a CGi-3, I’m yelling Steve, the CGi is an intermittent pilot / electronic ignition boiler! 😜
Mines been running great for 25 years.
Enjoying the boiler vids. Thanks for posting Steven!
Cool to see how to change the flame sensor. Enjoy the weekend Steve!
Thanks for the video, Steve and Molly! Have a great weekend!
Enjoyed the video, your experience shows with getting the job done !
Great job as always Steve
Looks like some new windshield wipers are needed for winter. I can see they do not wipe the rain off very well. Probably dry rubber blades.
"Good enough for this neighborhood" got me laughing.
I got those in the truck. Lol.
Steve, not sure if it helps but I have the exact same boiler in my house that would turn on and off all day long. After doing some research online, I found out the boiler temperature was set to 140 so as soon it reached 140, it would shut it off and then start again after 10-15 minutes. I raised the temp to about 200 and now more more On and off issue. Just my 2 cents since you help so many of us learning from your videos.
Tell her to add a zero to the replacement cost.
K. Cast iron boilers always run high co until the system heats up. Also that Honeywell intermittent pilot gas valve is prone to opening main valve on call for pilot. Most times they light np. Other times.....boom
Checking the sensor with micro amps takes the guessing out.
I have the same issue right now with Is a Weil McLean CGA 4 I replace the flame sensor unit And it kicks on runs for a few then shuts off kicks on runs for a few and shuts off it does not stay running long enough to generate any heat. I don't know what to look for next any suggestions what to check.
Sometimes it goes through the start of process but never actually fires up sometimes it fires up runs for a few stops and then tries to kick on again.
I'm just mechanically inclined homeowner Not an HVAC specialist.
The dog is so, so cute!
Always have a question why we try to clean the flame sensor and it only worth like $5. Should we just change a new one?
Funny that she wanted to replace that boiler. It didn’t look that old.
Who else misses the 'Value Testers' ad, at the beginning of Steve's videos?
@@JD987abc it was discussed in a Q&A a while back, related to the shutdown earlier this year.
Great video, you just saved me 495$. Thank you!
Nice job and video
Great Video. Have a nice weekend . Thank you for sharing ^_^
You done a hell of a good job on that stove but I believe she probably need a new one in the future
I am watching this because HVAC guys are stretched thin here Nov 2021 and gas company hasn't called back about an appointment to have someone clean the flame sensor. I took classes in oil burner in 1990. This can't be much worse.
Steve bring some rain towards our way Missouri
Seems like a perfectly good boiler, you will get 25 years out of it with regular maintenance
Looks like a rather small boiler there...
Have 1 from 1985.
Why replace it? If taken care good for another 15 yrs.
I didn't hear it cutting on and off from East Texas!! Ha ha!
