No. People like this make me feel much LESS safe. They love hiring the biggest egos they can find though, so here we are. Can't hire intelligent people that can think critically because they might start to question what they're really doing there.

These guys need to fight some real crime. There are people getting unalive to every day. The last time I heard there were 800,000 children that go missing in the United States every year. Why does it go search for some?
So, the kid was selling flowers! The kid was NOT out stealing or committing crimes! What is wrong with these cops!

"Technically" what the kid is doing is illegal, (I think, I am not a lawyer and not live in South California). But I feel like it's a general rule in the entire world that if you are to sell something on the streets, you need a permit from somewhere. I'm sure a 13 year old kid will have a problem getting any type of permit from the government.
So, "Technically" what the boy did is illegal. HOWEVER, the problem is not that. It's how these officers treated the kid. I don't understand why officers just don't explain what you are doing is bad or illegal. I understand that it's not their obligation to do so but a lot of these cases can be solved if only the officers just said, "You know, what you are doing is illegal because (insert reason). Now either, you have to stop it, or we need to take you to the police station because (insert reason 2)."
Instead, the officers be like, "Hey, what's your name? Give me your id." Any SANE person would be defensive and be like, "Why would I give you my ID. I don't think I did anything wrong." And the officer just kept pushing for asking the ID instead of providing the reason resulting to escalation of the problem.
They need to have Common Sense and Common Courtesy as subjects in the police academy. Make it separate because I think police officers need each of that the most when trying to understand a person's situation.

I'm sure you never asked if they had permission from the store or not. They generally always get permission from the store or the store tells them to leave or calls authorities you just don't hear about it. That's the rot of social media. Kids in my country, usually Roma, also sell roses and various other small things around cafés and restaurants and stores, and sometimes the cops are called to remove them or they pass by and see them. It never ends with arrests, never ends with violence and usually Cops persuade those kids to leave in a quarter of the time and recourses used than in this video's situation. Kids are not arrested or beaten or put in a situation that resisting and fighting will occur, cops don't need to struggle, the store owners are happy because the kids leave and the upsetting of their customers stays minimal, and everyone will go about their ways in less than a minute...

Well, to this I would say not really. There are some 13 year Olds (unfortunately might I add) that will shoot first and act like criminals because of their surroundings. But you can't treat all kids the same. This kid was non violent, not committing a crime, being approached pretty aggressively. This is definitely not a situation you would approach like how these cops did.

Certain people look just as young when an adult as they are as a teen. Secondly, teens are confused with adults all the time. This is why you must show ID to buy things in Walmart that only an adult is allowed to because going off looks is not only wrong but it causes issues when the person is actually and an adult or the opposite when the person is actually underage to by the product. You can't always go by looks or even by what people tell you. If you think that then go ahead and find out the hard way buddy.

Minors are not required to carry an ID, nor are thry required to have any kind of permit to " peddle" . Any citizen is free to sell any personal property. Any state law that requires a permit for personal transaction has an unconstitutional law which makes it unenforcable.
