If a cop had said, "I'm going to knock your head off," we'd hear about it all day, but when this old old man says it, we get crickets...
The Cop is just a human following rules. If someone had just said they going to knock your head off, would you turn your back on them? I wouldn't. Cops are trained to pay attention to threats, as they should. If you don't like the system, i would advise criticizing the system, instead of the individual cops, just like if you don't like a war going on, you should criticize the leaders/generals, not just the soldiers.
@@Jimraynor45 Individual cops are an integral part of the system (in fact, they're the most important part of it since they enforce the power of the state) so criticizing them is indeed justified. Was going after individual SS officers a bad thing in your opinion? The war was already over so by your logic, it seems to sound like you think we should just let bygones be bygones... 🤷♂️ The officer was on this man's property illegally once he said he didn't want him there and since there was no immediate threat to the public safety he could have left, parked on public property and just waited for the people he was after to leave and then stop them. All this over people selling solar panels without a permit is just an absurd abuse of power on an elderly veteran who just wanted his constitutional rights to be the master of his own domain (his home).
@@ZERO_O7X Soldiers are also crucial to making wars happen. If a soldier disagrees with a war, would you advocate they disobey orders? That's tough talk. You gotta have some kind of understanding here. Also, comparing nazis to everyday cops? You're stretching there... I don't agree with the cop's actions, but at the same time, i know he is in a difficult position. If he listened to every person who told him to just leave and ignored it when someone said they will knock his head off, he wouldn't make a good cop, and might also not survive long. Having said that, I do think he probably went too far, and I even think he should be disciplined, but lets not go and hate cops. They are just humans, just like soldiers are also humans.

When you fear cameras and transparency as well you need to not be a cop. Don’t forget fear of acorns. The worst fear a cop has 😂
Qualified Immunity does not protect police if they are in the wrong. It ONLY protects police if they are acting within the law and if they are acting in good faith.
This means if a cop acts within his scope of duty, within the law, and with good faith the cop has immunity from lawsuits for damages unless the plaintiff shows that the official violated "clearly established statutory or constitutional rights.
It does not mean the cop can do whatever he wants and get away with it. Like most think.

Instead of that nice new highway everyone was looking forward to, or repairs to the city, or a new school, we pay the victim of the same cop whose salary we pay. Almost kills an old man over absolutely nothing!!!
SHAME AND DISGRACE OF THIS OFFICER......
I'm so sick and tired of despicable police.
The Sergeant is a disgrace and a coward and had no right being on his property. The cop is the only criminal that I see.
This is why the public has no respect for the cops anymore !
End qualified immunity or defund all this crap. It's a joke on America.
Psychopaths are now in charge. End of story.
They aren't in charge of sh*t. They think they are. There's millions of us. Thousands of them. Stop thinking like they have power over you and it ends.
Law enforcement have become the most DANGEROUS DOMESTIC TERRORIST ORGANIZATION in the UNITED STATES
They always have been.
This cop is in the wrong period! He had no warrant, he had absolutely know right to harass this man!
What did you arrest him for?
I arrested him for resisting arrest.
The cop attacked a 76 year old man who was defending his own property. He really protected and served the sh*t out of him, didn''t he? The cop's mother must be so proud.
Aww precious
And let's just blow off the fact that the old guy assaulted the officer first (told him, "I'll take your head off.") I was with the old guy until he started dropping threats.
@@Skank_and_Gutterboyso what! He's 76. And if the cop jus left well before that then he would've never gotten to that point! This town didn't even have a department a few months ago! Shits wild!
@@user-rt4ct6tq3r3 month old account mmm either a cop, or boot licker.
@@Skank_and_Gutterboyname checks out
The veteran foolishly believed he lived in a free country with constitutional protections. But seriously, every cop should be bonded, and every use of force reviewed by an insurance adjuster. No bond means you cannot work. If your camera is turned off you lose your bond. A insurance agent will weed out bad cops faster than internal affairs. Also a bad cop can’t just go down the road and get another police job.
Yes! Underrated comment.
Excellent idea! Many other professions require bonding.
You actually said the right words. How could we survive without unknowledgable cops?
Any time the department comes out and says the officer behaved according to his training, doesn't that immediately establish patterns of practice?
This is almost the exact situation the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote the second amendment. Enough is enough.
Agree 100%
Sadly cops aren’t aware of the United States Constitution. Violating rights with reckless abandon. Coward
finally some one gets it
It should be remembered, many states have their version of the 2nd. For example, in The State of Washington, it would be article one, section twenty-four of the Washington constitution.
@@kellyvcraig Agree. But any of the several states cannot constitutionally override the 2nd article and amendment to the Constitution for the United States of America. Same would go for any of the other amendments in the Bill of Rights. For instance. A state could not lawfully eradicate the freedom of speech and of the press.
His threat was conditional on the police officer unlawfully putting hands on him.
Exactly, it wasn't a threat, it was a statement of his willingness to defend himself. Not a crime unless we are no longer a nation of laws.
I'm not worried...our military is protecting our freedoms.
I would have been arrested for interveneing . I would have stood up for the farmer. He could have left and come back more prepared.
He was acting according to his training. He was trained to be a bully.
And a criminal law breaker!
All this because somebody didn't have a permit?! WTF!? The American police state is really showing itself. I hope the old guy sues.
Don't call the cops over a pathetic situation that should just be ignored.
I hope he sues also......if he lived through it.
Exactly,, Agree 💯💯
And they wonder why they are hated!!🤬
Trust me, they know why, and they couldn't care less.
This is an absolute shame. This old man is treated like this because he wanted them off his property.
Cop’s motto: “We will violate your rights, we will assault you, we will make up charges against you. We will get away with a slap on the wrist, while taxpayers pay your lawsuit. We will not be held responsible for our actions.”.
Unfortunately, that's awfully accurate...
and don't forget, its ALWAYS your fault, just like the cops say "you made me do this to you", as they throw you to the ground and hand cuff you
All 3 statements are completely true. Immunity for police needs to go
No it's not, their motto is "to protect and serve" and "the counties finest"
Perfect Police Motto!!! That Motto exactly describes the current mindset of Police agencies in USA!!!
Police officer commits violent attack on elderly man on his property…. That needs prison for battery…
For starters.
But is on line for a promotion instead
And then kidnaps him
NO, THE THIN BLUE LINE GUARDS PRISONS VIOLENTLY WITHOUT OVERSIGHT, IN FOR-HIRE-FOR PROFIT PRISONS. THIS IS "CONSTITUTIONAL JUSTICE?"
Good news! Oilton City Council accepts resignation of police officer involved in altercation with elderly man.
I love this old guy! A man who knows what's right, still. One of my relations.
That this was done to "protect the public" comes across as beyond ironic.
