Funnily enough, I've been making an effort in recent playthroughs to use different mons, and on my recent Shield game I used Palosand & Spritzee (with Eviolite). Both worked very well.
I used it as my Water type on my recent Platinum playthrough caught it as a Finneon at Iron Island kept it on the team for the entire game a very awesome Pokemon

Driftblim got me to appreciate the advantages of Ghost types when I used one in Y.... getting past Korrina with no issue at all (I didn't intend to cheese that fight) and switching into it turn 1 against Lysandre's lead Hi Jump Kick was funny... being able to do it a second time in the same playthrough (this time on purpose) was something I found hilarious.
I traded a friend a rabsca to help in his playthrough and he fell in love with it it’s been his go to from the third gym for nearly every fight and whenever there’s a fight he’s having trouble with he gets all excited ti send in rabsca
@Emily I will admit it is not very diverse. But I've been running Electro ball, Tailwind, Thunder wave, and air slash. Tailwind activates it's wind power ability, which powers up its next electric move when hit by any "wind" attack, and also doubles the speed which increases electro ball's damage. It's an electro ball nuke lol. Sometimes I switch out thunder wave for thunderbolt if I think the opponent is too fast to take much damage from electro ball. It's a staple of my primary scarlet team, and it was one of my first pokemon in my playthrough and it got me through some tough battles, so I'm attached to it 💕
@MysticUmbreon oh, cool! Maybe include it in a video if u haven't already? (I'm a newer viewer of ur stuff) Also, any chance I could get ur thoughts on my Kilowattrel build? Lol

A few nights ago, I was going through Violet taking on tera raid dens to get some items to sell for $. As I was flying over a few hills, I noticed a pink pig walking around. I landed and saw that it was a shiny Oinkologne! Caught it with a Quick Ball and named it Wilbur because not only was it a pig, but a PINK pig at that!

My underrated gen 9 pick is Veluza. Yes yes the champion has one* but come on, we know Veluza gets bypassed because of how aggro they are. Oinkologne has good stats for a playthrough! That has a solid BST and they can be reasonably tanky, a perfectly viable normal type option for your team that can support your starter since the first route unlike some other early game normal types I could mention.
Too bad that its so ugly. I was legitimately horrified and disgusted when i first saw Oinkologne. I literally screamed that they massacred my piggy boy.

I always make sure to include both types in any Pokemon playthrough so the fact that Chinchao/Lanturn filled both for me. Okay, so! For Oinkologne, you can make it somewhat bulky. Its not a good set, but it gets Stuff Cheeks and Stockpile to up its defenses. After which, it had Body Press. I personally use a Ganlon Berry for this so that they eventually have +6 defense. Although its basically a light Greedent, since they can do the same are just.. better? But I love the cool pig nonetheless, that and I have the full shiny set of the entire line.
the only obstacle that's stopping me from using octillery in any playthroughs is its base 45 speed. I could set up a trick room but I'm too lazy for that in the main game
