Hey guys had an audio spike in the vid so I reuploaded to fix the issue! It should sound better now! So I will admit I forgot about the Gengar in Scarlet and Violet. However, now that I look at it more, I still think Quag wins. Here's why amazing typing with only 1 weakness being grass , Water is a complete immunity with water absorb, it has better match ups against all the important match ups in SV (ground typing also being an amazing offensive type), also with the Mirror Herb, you can get Quagsire with Recover and Curse for set up. Gengar also gets hit its curtains with those paper defenses. You can also catch Gastly in the wild anyways.Gengar does have pretty solid coverage, but so does Quag. With Curse, you can run a Body Press set to really put in the work.
@@connorwood9211 yeah but if it's post game then it really doesn't matter or if it's extremely late in the game when your team is already kind of set in stone That's just pointless

Gyarados is great, but Vaporeon and Lapras can take advantage of HM SURF. SURF is a water special attack, and Vaporeon and Lapras have better SP. ATK stats, then Gyarados.
@@alex_spartan1805 Like the other person said, gyarados' ability to hit hard on both attacking spectrums is pretty much invaluable in a playthrough, at least in gen 1
Bro really said Anorith and Lileep aren’t really gift Pokémon cause you have to go slightly out of your way to get them, but considered Archen and Tirtouga as gifts when for both you have to go slightly off the projected path to get the fossil and travel to a town you already passed to revive them 💀💀💀
Out all of the gifts, seems weird how many times you are gifted a Lapras. I know it’s mostly used for surf. But there could be more than just that Pokemon to gift for surf.
Gen 8 is Snips the Togepi as that saved me from both Piers and Reihan. Trading the Toxel for a Serene Grace Togepi and the fact it's so strong against fighting and Dragon types is an insane combo not to overlook. The other would be Obstigoon for original Mr. Mime.
The spearow with the letter you get from the guard in gen 2 is the best, cause he has the exp boost like traded pokemon, has good attack and speed stats, stab like return and drill pack, Steel wing for coverage, and HM fly.
I wouldn't really call the slakoth for makuhita a good gift as there's only a 5% encounter rate for slakoth in those games and a 50% encounter rate for makuhita in the cave before the 2nd gym. So you either have to be lucky or hunt a slakoth down for a mon you can get very soon after.
What about The Steelix you get in Cyllage city by trading over a Feebas, especially before you fight the rock type gym. And the Hawlucha you get in Ultra Sun and Moon by trading over the Spearrow. those come from good trades, esepecially early in the game too. Though mega Lucario is better than Mega Steelix
1 other thing about Ns zorua is that all of its IVs are 30 and its nature is great for a playthrough. Same with lucario minus the 30 across the board, but it's still pretty competitive. Side note but any of Ns pokemon you can access are amazing thanks to the IVs.
Honesty in any pokemon game where they gift you an Eevee, its the best. In every game, you can evolve it into any type that makes the most sense for your team.
I've always wondered if Eevee will eventually have an evolved form of every type and if that happened what would be the name given to the new forms and what would be the requirements needed to achieve each form.
Poor perrserker, we still use it for a couple of days wen the first 7 star raid came out, 4 of them with hidden hability was the only strategy for a couple of days, maybe even the first week

Same for the other Grasses, and especially Pikachu. Which is why I will continue to vouch for freshly evolved Gyarados as the BEST counter against that Starmie. Coz its own Special and typing can tank Bubblebeam better, the Speed debuff has no effect on the already slower boi, and most importantly, Starmie falls easily to Gyarados' Bite. Hell, I'd argue that Gyarados is a better Dragonite for the playthru. By the time you even can access a Dratini, let alone evolve it to Dragonite...after MUCH time spent grinding in GEN ONE, you have already long owned and been using something that, for the tradeoff of having marginally worse stats and a more common double weakness, has access to at least two powerful STAB moves, and a plethora of other moves it shares with Dragonite. With a Gyarados right before you challenge Misty, you have had a Dragonite Lite far earlier than you would be able to get the actual thing.
