During COVID I watched all the 1,300 vids and dug them. Rock on!!!

now that is a kick ass guitar , and a kick ass amp , who woulda thought a 79 would sound so good , not exactly a vintage year , but man what sweet tones , just wide open and takin no prisoners. A killer performance as always , an Oz fest from Mr. Lemmo , at his finest , well done lad , thanks guys , and thanks Jen for 1300 episodes of GOTD , it's just gotten better and better ever week.
I have a 78 and not many 50s and 60s versions can touch it. They're just inconsistent, but if you search there's the rare gem.

I've got a 78 and honestly I'm glad that people start noticing the good one's instead of bashing the entire decade. Lol
Aidris. I totally agree with you. I’ve had my black ‘79 custom since ‘84. Gigged it to near death. It’s wonderful. Never let me down. Can’t remember ever breaking a string and stays perfectly in tune. The T tops sound fantastic. And yet the era gets slagged off !

Jen is the MVP we love these videos
Those sound like low gauge strings, 9’s maybe. Les Pauls sound really good with higher gauge strings, 10s or 11s even because of the shorter scale length. Slash is known to use 11s and I’ve found them to be excellent on Les Pauls even for bending. As for customs they’re a step up above standards in my opinion, especially with tone.
