Which one of Jason's guitars would you want to add to your own collection?
That 335. 🤤
The Martin 00028
61 Lp/SG
The Tele
Red eye LP.
I love it that Gibson’s confident enough to include Fender and other brands in these videos, respect!
There would be no point in making a guitar collection show if you aren't going to show someones full collection.
And lots, like half the program. This is how you know they have the right ppl in the right places. Makes me wanna buy more Gibson’s.
I was shocked too but like he said it looks like they have the right people making decisions which is great hopefully they can keep turning it around because these collection videos and the scene videos are absolutely amazing stuff. Thank you guys for this stuff. Please do more!
They go together like peanut butter and jelly.
Totally agree.
Please never stop the Collection videos!
Collection and Icons forever, please
I hear Trogly is next. 😂😂😂
@@KellysCanoeing LOL
Agreed!
@@KellysCanoeingplease no 😮 get him outta here lol
Would LOVE to see a Billy Gibbons "The Collection" video, no matter how long or how many parts it would be!
He is way too private for that!
Really not his style, other than his book that he did ages ago.
We had a mutual friend who was taken into the storage area that he had at least 40 years ago in Houston.
The friend was more or less free to open cases & an occasional gig bag. He was stunned by some of the guitars that he found, that Billy had forgotten about back then. He was a prolific buyer back when the vintage guitars & amps were really cheap!
An interesting guy to hang out with too!
We don’t need to see them all…. Just one in particular. I’d watch a full hour on just “that one”
I could sit and listen to Jason talk about music all day.
I don't think I'll ever be able to explain this to any other human being why this is just the coolest shit ever
No need for explanation! If you get it, you get it. It’s 2 am and I have to work tomorrow, but I can’t stop watching.
I've never listened to Jason Isbell's music before. This great video made me want to discover his music and i instantly became a fan. Thanks Gibson TV 🙂
The equivalent of deconstructing Van Gogh’s paintings to see the genius. The level of detail Jason puts into his craft is phenomenal. I thank God that we are living in an era where Jason Isbell is part of our lives
I love Jason in general, but especially what an unabashed gearhead he is.
"Red Eye" is one of the best guitar acquisition stories I've ever heard.
You mean walking into carter vintage and having a salesman encourage you to play it?
The dirk ziff back story to this guitar is fascinating
Jason has such a relaxing voice. Could listen to him talk guitars all day.
I could listen to Jason talk about guitars all day.
I love Jason’s way of telling stories
What a fantastic guy and a wonderful steward for these instruments.
The best part is Jason wants to play them all, no queens sitting in a vault somewhere. He is truly blessed to have so many nice vintage examples, and he plays them! Confessions of a guitar addict!
the red eye les Paul gave me chills up my spine
I don't know Jason but what a likable guy and cool collection. Definitely going to check out his music. thanks to everyone involved!
He plays that gold top on “King of Oklahoma” and crushes it!
Gibson is doing the lord's work here. Name me another brand that would spend the time on their competitors' stuff simply for the love of it all.
All other brands.
This series is just spectacular. Props to Gibson and Isbell for taking the time to produce this length of video with such amazing production value.
FINALLY a new collection video. These vids are all amazing, keep it up Gibson!
Agreed 💯😉💥❤️
More episodes in post production now!!!
Cant wait for the Charlie Starr episode. Is it coming soon?@gibsonguitar
@@gibsonguitarAwesome 👍 they are really good
what a human. zero ego. I cannot wait to meet this man.
I think The Collection video we are all dying to see is Norm’s private collection.
Excited for this one!
I found Jason by finding his wife playing fiddle and singing with Brandy Carlisle, UA-cam is and can be a fantastic thing, great interview Mark !
Thank the lord! I was afraid the collection videos was going the way of the dodo. Great video! Love to see Billy Gibbons ;) who else would be a good addition to the collection videos?
Was at the capitol theater show Friday. Skipped N1 of Phish (that’s saying something for me) and was the best choice ever. Jason’s guitars and amps were probably the best I’ve ever heard. I’ve seen 30-40 shows at the cap and never have I heard such a dialed in guitar tone
Overseas is some of the most emotive guitar playing I’ve heard in years. It’s just amazing. So cool to get to see this guitar.
Production quality of these Gibson Collection series is just top notch. As a sound engineer I just adore seeing hidden lavs and listening to such a good mix. Keep pushing, you're doing amazing job!
The host knows guitar but why wear a stupid metaled up zippered. Jacket for handling. Treasures
@@godbyonehe's not even playing them, calm down.🤦♂️
Haven't even watched the episode yet but I saw The Drive-By Truckers in '04 when I was 18 at Juanitas in Little Rock and was stand on the steps of the stage (right next to Jason) for the whole 4hr show. They drank sooo much Jack Daniel's the whole time. It was glorious.
Artwork that you can play - there is nothing like vintage guitars. Thanks Gibson for doing this series and showcasing these beauties and the guys that collect them. Just outstanding.
Kudos to Mark and Gibson for featuring the Fenders too ..Love these episodes
It’s not an achievement.. Gibson gave you a love heart knowing fine well that if they only featured Gibsons people would say it’s just a glorified advertisement.. This is standard banal, generic, predictable UA-cam guitar practice… JHS Soy Josh does it they all do..
@@johneeeemarry34 so what you're actually saying is that they can't win.
This is gorgeously shot. The close ups especially are unreal.
Maybe this is the episode that gets McCready to jump into The Collection and make an episode
What a fascinating guy! Thanks!
Mark I would like to thank you and Gibson for making more videos of this series. The collection is a great representation of guitar history, and the history that is curent in modern music. Mark you are a great interviewer, and you interview all the right people. I would like the '61 dot neck 335. That is way more than i need as I'm 57 years young, and still learning. It's not the best in Jasons collection just something I'd like to own. "Awesome content man!"
Craig Ross is another guitarist i would love to see featured on this show!
Mark is such a real one. Spends just as much time with Jason on his non-Gibson guitars. Both of them are guys who are doing it for the love of the game. Pleasure to be in on this conversation.
I love how Jason knows everything about the guitars that he owns and is a big guitar nerd like us! Plus, his songwriting is incredible! ❤🤘
Following Jason before folks knew how good he is... so Gibson showing his Fenders ... yea, right move... this collection is unreal. Lucky you and that your wife allows such wonderful hoarding!!! Lol! Thanks, Jason for sharing.
I'm only about a half hour into this one, and I gotta say that it's so REALLY, REALLY engrossing and just a phenomenal pleasure to watch! Now THAT'S an interesting collection interview! 👍
I love this guy. So humble and personable.
Alligator records, I still have some of their compilations on vinyl (Blues took me back in the late 70s)....Jason's biopic had me in tears thanks for sharing, thanks for all the great music and songs ...Thanks guys.
I could watch Jason talk about his collection all day
Props to Gibson doing such a great series like this.
Theis series is the best! And Mr. Isbell seems like a great dude as well as being extremely talented.
Pure gold! Another home run Mr. Agnesi. It’s wonderful to see these collections and hear the stories. I especially loved the story about John Prine and the White Falcon coffee substitute. Jason Isbell is the real deal. I saw him open up for Ryan Adams many years ago with a microphone and a Gibson acoustic guitar and was blown away. I knew he was destined for greatness. I can’t wait to see him in Golden Gate Park this year at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Please keep these videos coming! I think it’s time for a Billy Gibbons collection video.
This is the best one yet, well rounded assortment of to notch guitars of many makes. A modern collector that’s relative to today’s values. Surprisingly good! Keep it up.
It doesn't get much better than this. This series, "The Collection" is just so freaking good. I could watch all of these over and over. Thank you Mark A. I have a feeling you had a lot to do with this series of videos. Isbell is such a great story teller and musician.
Great camera work! This is next level production value 👏
The ONLY thing....and I swear I've complimented Mark and Gibson TV many times in their videos...is that in this one, when the cases are opened, the guitars inside are in the dark. Needed some light there. Another super-interesting video though, for sure.
I was just thinking the same! It looks super super expensive
But why does he constantly wear a stupid metal zipper jacket. Handling million dollar guitars. Makes no sense
@@godbyone Mark is no stranger to that criticism. He did the same for years at Norm's Rare Guitars. He, and Norm (who didn't wear zippered jackets but definitely had ring(s) that you could occasionally hear clacking against the guitars) would dismiss any concern that any damage was caused.
Not only responsible for one of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard, but quite a beautiful guitar collection too. And a complete gentleman to boot. Thank you Jason, and thank you Mark
What song is that?
Cover Me Up@@jdl2180
Only one of the greatest songs you've ever heard? You might want to listen to a few more because the man can write a damn song.
What song?
Cover Me Up@@codymchenry2719
Jason is excellent. Love him
Saw him last Sunday and he played the hell out of that '53 Goldtop with the Bigsby. Awesome to get more info on it, as I'd been wondering what the story was with that guitar.
as a guitar nerd I have a 52 all gold Les Paul, 55 Les Paul Junior and have owned several 50's Juniors. I just played a couple of Murphy Labs. They were GREAT but cost more than the 52 when I bought it!! I will not do that. Like Jason, I refretted my vintage guitars and ABSOLUTELY replaced the tuners. Great video
love it, thank you Gibson for putting these videos up, and to the excellent Mark Agnesi!
Wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this episode until he pulled out my favorite guitar that Gibson makes. Major props to Jason and his Firebird!!!!
Please do this with every guitar famous or collectors. Your production is perfect.. just add more people. They love thier guitars and speak so amazing!! More more more
@36:31 is perhaps one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. “Here ya go.”
The respect, passion, trust, and love displayed in just a fraction of a second . . . wow. Jason is as good as they come.
Jason Isbell is a legend.
This could have gone another hour, and I wouldn't be bored!
Thanks, I love these collection videos! Please do one with Mr. Billy Gibbons!
How wonderful that he looks up to Bonnie Raitt!
Simply amazing.
I got to meet Mr. Isbell briefly on the street in Austin in May. Super kind guy. It was an honor to tell him how awesome they were the night before.
If I ever heard a story of Jason being a jerk to someone (post-sobriety), I would immediately ask what you did to deserve it.
Have to ditto this. Met him and Amanda after a show in Atlanta a few years back and they were both the nicest.
I had a record to sign, but could only track down a ball point for his signature. He said, “No, that won’t last. I’ll find a sharpie” and tracked one down.
A gem.
@@therooster7454 Dude! That’s a fantastic story!
I’m so glad this series is continuing! I absolutely love it!
God I look so forward to all of the collection videos!!! Thank you for another one!
Amazing collection, really enjoying this one. He is incredible
This was incredible! Thanks to Jason, Mark, and everyone who made this happen
What an absolute sweetheart! And mad respect for anyone who replaces the bridge so he doesnt mark up the original with his top wrap 👍
I love this series! What a great narrative Jason has for each guitar. You can hear how much Jason loves to play his gear. Jason has obviously given a lot of thought to the "why" of each guitar.
'61 ES335 - "The neck is thin and wide. You can do anything with it.". What a great description. I have a reissue '61 ES335 and I do love the neck.
One of your best episodes Mark.
5:55 I love how he uses an Epiphone case to transport his Gibson firebird and leaves the original case back wherever.
Awesome! Love Jason! Now time to get over to Ol’ Billy G’s place.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Thanks to Jason, Mark & everyone who made this happen, so cool.
This is the best one yet. Jason Isbell is a great interview
I've been hoping Jason would show up on this series for a long time. Glad to see it!
These are the best! Thank you.
I love this. Keep them coming… can’t wait for the next one.
Sweet how he explains his love of collecting - the how and why. Going through the toy box, ha! So relatable. And well anything that John Prine touched would have to be the one.
Great collection, and man, what a humble, cool guy Jason is!
I get excited every time I see one of these pop up in my recommended. Thanks Guys!!
Thank you Jason Isbell!
love this series
Killing it! One of the best yet!!
Joe B and Jason are my top 2 favorite Collection's episodes. Such great interviews..
Musicians musicians. My kind of folk.
Absolutely, Joe B is a monster , when he wants a classic , he’ll go on a guitar safari , look out he’s a mad man on a mission !
The best little collection for now 😍
I need sooooooooo many more of these videos in my life!!!!! This is my favorite thing in the world right now thank you soooo much. The vibe is so perfect
What a great hang. Thanks for sharing Gibson. Awesome!
My favorite and probably the best artist I’ve seen do the collection. Got some great influences and history
Slash and Jerry Cantrell were great too!
Great collection !!!
This was the best one yet. Love Isbell, and you can tell he is a huge guitar nerd. What a collection!! Nice interview, Mark!
been waiting for the collection series to be back. love the Red Eye LP.
GREAT job guys! Best one I've see! What a treat!
Love love love this episode !!! ❤
I found this so inspiring and educational- Thank you Jason and Mark
Jasons music is seriously timeless art, it means so much to me! Thank you for doing an episode with him!
@Krampus1672 dunno what to say dude, you must feel cool, im sorry for you
Been around a long time , never heard of Jason ? Impressed by his rock music knowledge and wood tones 💫
That TV Tenor Special is wild! Great series this, don't stop plz!
I love the collection videos!! please never stop
thanks Jason , Mark and Gibson. great as always
What an interesting humble guy. One of the best “collections” I have seen .
