Lemmo's signature strat looks sweet
HSS Strat to me is the greatest single guitar there is. It covers sooooooo much sonic territory. Owning one for so long as my main guitar, it has changed me as a player. I am used to being able to jump around from classic Strat single coil sound to a fat Humbucker ala EVH for Gibson tones. It's diversity IS its strength. When I jam kn song ideas switching around on the pickups sounds like switching guitars. A sonic chameleon. When you get used to that broad tone pallet under your fingers at all times.... An HSS Strat easily becomes your primary guitar. Everytjing else is just specialty gear for the handful of things the HSS Strat isn't great at.
Kind of addictive really.
Traditionalist hate them, but I do not play to make them happy. They can jerk off to period correct specs all day, I am going to just play my guitar, which I love.
HSS Strat has been the core of my guitar sound since I switched from drums to guitar 25 years ago. Its the foundation of my tonal identity really. I love Strats, but give me a bucker in the bridge please.

I love this Strat ! Reminds me of my $75 'paddle foot' HSS DeltaTone. HSS, csb with a TS guard and black plastic parts.

Wow, so I can play like that? I’m buying this guitar right now. Actually I already just bought one and this makes me think I made a good decision.
I found a 1997 Roadhouse Strat in sunburst in a local guitar shop. It’s all American made and it’s being sold for $1200. Do I buy that bad boy?? (It plays so amazing by the way).

@@jswart3179 Unless it’s ridiculously high, (1200 for any USA Fender is fair) the most important thing is how it feels under your fingers. A close second is, does it inspire you to play every single day? If so, buy it! No one can strum a pile of cash😂
@@ryanfulldark2775 That’s one of the dad gum wisest things I ever heard thank you man. And yes it feels amazing. I picked it up and all of a sudden it was 1983 and I was playing at the El Mocambo.

How about a demo of what that special volume pot does and maybe an explanation of why no string tree (staggered tuners? Or what?)
@@Timinator62 Yes, I know what a treble bleed circuit is and does but that volume pot is some kind of push/push that is likely to be a coil split for the humbucker. My point is that Lemmo pointed it out but then he didn't demonstrate what it does. Which just makes it seem like the GOTD is more about showcasing his talent than it is about demoing the guitar.

Glancing at the comments - they are a lot nicer than the Orianthi guitar. That one hurt just reading the comments. I bet the folks at Gibson are licking their wounds.

@@upcycleelectra8311 Yeah, the comments were incredibly consistent in the criticism. So I'm not saying they are wrong, for sure. But there was no sifting required. The sentiment was strong and immediately expressed. I wanted to say the same but I thought, 'nah I'm not an expert maybe I'm missing something' but apparently I was not missing anything.
I guess Orianthi got paid and it's not a big deal for her. But the folks at Gibson - yikes - it really looks like they put out a very bad product. Reminded me of one of those kids guitars you pick up in the toy section at Walmart. Not a good look.
On the other hand, really brings home how great the other guitars are, that they feature.
