Heyyyy! Ha we don't really have any secret fishing tricks. We run a daisy chain type lure and the fish seem to love it! We did get street tacos and margaritas!

So when you say the fish that did not stay hooked must have been small, is that the new small (given the massive mahi that now becomes your new point of reference) or was that the normal small? LOL

Ah yeah the line was caught on the rudder, I think we captioned it because we knew the audio wasn't great. It is really hard to film and capture the moment sometimes with just the two of us onboard!
Gary, regarding the sleep deprivation. I know you should never sleep while on watch, but can't you rely on your AIS system?? You guys have that, of course, right? I'm sorry guys, probably a stupid question, but I would think that's how single handed sailors do it?
Hey Jason! We do use our AIS but there are quite a few vessels that don't have AIS and we also have to keep watch for fishing nets, etc that aren't well detected on radar. Especially in this area off the coast of Mexico, lots of small fishing boats and long lines. We do set an alarm for every 15 mins while on watch so we do a get a tad sleep but after a few days it definitely wears on you. Kudos to single handers for sure!
