I have been on a year long journey for weight loss and health, I have been listening and watching. I have been experimenting with several things and track which work the best, also based off the science I have learned from here and several other content creators that are doctors. My perfect hack is this which is working. 12oz of room temperature coffee with 20 grams of protein powder(organic grass feed protein), 2 raw eggs(I know it sounds gross but you don’t taste it nor feel the raw egg), scoop of MCT oil, scoop of ketone powder- blend and drink over 30 minutes. Yes I wait 2 hours after waking up before drinking. 3hrs later I work out for 45-60 minutes. Weight lifting followed by 20-35 minutes cardio, I make a 32 oz water bottle with scoop of electrolytes and just 3 grams of creative and 3 grams of amino acids. Drink before, during and after workout. 32 oz spread out over 2-3 hours. Then 2 medium meals 600-900 calories each. Both meals are high animal protein bas(red meat, fish, chicken, pork, all lean cuts) the first meal will have 15-30 grams of a good green vegetable. The second meal no carbs. So first calories of day is 0900, next meal 12-1pm, last meal 3pm. The evening and overnight starts a intermittent fast, the MCT/ketone with protein drink extend fast and provide energy for workout, creatine with electrolytes during work out force water into the muscle to feed the workout, thus in ketosis, the body will use the water from fat cells as you burn fat in ketosis during workout. Then feed the body afterwards. June 1St 2023 486lbs, I am down to 260lbs. During this process I would say I didn’t lose any muscle, but gain muscle in the right areas. If I lost muscle, it would be in my legs that needed it to move my fat body around. Yes I 36hr fast every 3rd week and do the 4 day fast every 5 months as a reset. Listen to Dr Mindy, it works what she says. And always change macros to throw the body off.

I started fasting 2 weeks ago ( I might be doing too much cause I did 2 times the 36h last week but this week I did the 48h one so I might need to slow down a bit -feel free to give me advice). I do feel better even if there's no significant changes but patience and nurturing is the key so I'm confident in it

Thank you for all the videos and knowledge you have shared. It works for me too. I started IF for the last 6 months (16hrs - 18hrs) and have so much more energy than when I ate regularly 2-3 meals daily.
Recently, I have a prolong cough and some kind of chest infection, doctor prescribed antibiotic for me. I looked at it and remembered one of your videos explained that when you're fasting, your body will rebuild its cells, pushing out toxin etc... so I went on fasting for a straight 4 days. My illness was clearing up afterward, i.e. no more coughing. My chest congestion was also gone and best of all the prescribed antibiotic tablets go to the back of my cupboard now 🙂
Thank you for sharing your great knowledge and helping us all! (I have also registered to get your new book "Eat Like a Girl" and can't wait to read the book - scheduled to arrive in November)

Hello Dr. Pelz, I absolutely love your content. I was Prediabetic last year with Hgb A1c= 6.1 and admitted to hospital with pancreatitis. I ended up with a sphincter polyp that was removed. At the beginning of the year i was still 310lbs and struggling with my weight. I did my 1st fast on feb 25 for 72 hours and have done an additional 2 120hour fasts. I've lost 60lbs in less than 60 days and now my Hgb A1c is 4.5 Instead of exercise or HIIT training, I cleaned my whole house and garage/tools. Sort of constant activity. I have also been Lacofermenting my vegetables for nutrition benefit. Just wanted to give you a shout out. I'm an RN and hope to motivate many of my patients with these techniques that have been super transformational.

I’ve loss 10 lbs in 4 weeks. I’m having a hard time eating a lot of protein and fat. I limit my carbs a lot. But, I’m mainly eating chicken or salmon with veggies, maybe 3 eggs per week. I mostly look forward to eating strawberries, raspberries, pecans and chia seeds. I’ve done intermittent fasting. Starting off at 16 hours then easily worked up to 18 hours and have done 20 hours a couple of times. I prefer more of a Mediterranean diet. So, I’m easing my way onto that. I have 10 more pounds to go to get to my goal. But this was a good way to jump start my weight loss. This is the first time in my life that I needed to lose this much and I know it’s because I was quitting smoking and just ate way too many carbs. I plan on starting an exercise routine of walking 1 hour before work and walking worked very well for me in the past. Thank you!

Sounds like you know what you can and can’t do to make things work. Good for you. No “diet” works if you can’t stick to it. Sounds like you found the one for you. Do try to get your protein in, though. Muscle can break down during weight loss if you don’t get enough plus, fatigue can hit you harder. You can do it. I believe in you!

The cold shower is superb but since not most people would be able to do to boost metabolism . You can consider cold cotton wrap on stomach neck and forehead for 30mins. As proven in Indian Ayurveda it increases metabolism and also helps movement of fat and hence has many target oriented approach . I am doing it since past 20days even during my periods and I can see a good result all in all .

    Good afternoon Mindy,
I’ve been fasting for 7+ years now it has changed my life. I found you after following Dr Berg and love your work. I had a hysterectomy (partial I still have my ovaries) about 7years ago…..my question is as a 51 year old woman who is now seeing the scale move upwards to a place I’m not comfortable with. I have no idea where I am in my cycle! 🤔 Trying to get enough protein in when eating just 2 meals a day is so difficult for me. It seems like so much food! I’ll typically eat 3-4 eggs half avocado for my first meal and usually a steak preferably or protein and salad for dinner. Usually only hitting 80-100 grams of protein. I know I’m hitting or in menopause 😢 so after listening to you, I have stopped the Omed fasting daily and shake it up a bit now, sometimes I’ll eat three meals for one day, other days I’ll just do two and then other days I’ll do one, and sometimes I throw one at 36 , for something that used to be easy for me after I started the fasting lifestyle things are not working the same way, any suggestions would be beneficial. I do exercise either being hot power yoga, rebounding workouts, hikes/ walks and I do weights 1-2 week.
Starting to loose my mind over this while trying not to loose my mind over this! 😂
Am I eating to much or to little? Just when I thought I had it all figured out… now I’m confused.
    Tracy

Recently I also heard Dr. Berg say in a video that Ashwaganda reduces cortisol levels. I bought some powder and I will start taking it at night with some herb tea. Tracy, I am in the exact same situation as you and intermittent fasting stopped working for me in the last year, I have literally tried everything , following Dr Mindy and Dr Berg, to get out of this plateau, but nothing has really worked, so my conclusion is that it can only be high cortisol, so trying hard to bring that down. Getting enough Protein has also been a problem for me, but recently I started taking protein powder, and I feel great, no cravings and I feel satiated all the time

If you watch Dr Barbie Taylor (menopause educator) on UA-cam, she says that a hysterectomy is instant menopause. You should look into getting your hormones in check. That will help you tremendously for avoiding heart disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and a ton of other issues that can go wrong as we age. I’ve also had a partial hysterectomy and I’m almost 64 and wish I knew all of this info when I was your age. Best of luck 😘🙏

So frustrating that what once worked isn’t working anymore. The learning curve for women and diet is frustrating enough to raise cortisol lol😂 I’ve cut out coffee this week so we shall see if this helps with cortisol for me specifically in the mornings! Fingers crossed

To all wonderful women, on this beautiful journey toward a better physique, peace and well-being; I recently tried carnivore, and I gained a few pounds, because I decided to add dairy to the protocol. I wasn’t eating too much dairy, but obviously my body does not like certain animal products. You might need to experiment and see which foods give you inflammation. I do really well on most meats, plus avocado, plus a little bit of nuts and seeds. I didn’t really need to lose weight, I went on carnivore because of long covid and neurotoxicity (I had one root canal, I have removed it a year ago). What I am trying to say is, there might be different factors why your body is not responding well to fasting. You might want to check for neurotoxicity like heavy metals in your body. If you do have elevated levels, I would recommend intervenous chelation.

Hello Dr. Mindy! I'm new to your community on here, and I'm very excited about all the things you're saying. I'm 23, 4 ft 10 in, and weigh about 128-130 pounds. I've only started struggling with weight gain in the last two years, and prior to that was never over 110 pounds at my heaviest. I've done fasting in the past, but never made a conscious effort to balance my hormones, as I thought I had years before they would start to affect my weight. I'm curious, what would you recommend in terms of exercise /routine for targeting stubborn belly fat, love handles/back fat, and excess bloating? I also want to lose fat and gain muscle in my thighs and glutes. Any info would be so helpful 😁

Dr. Mindy Pelz, I love your channel and education! I have a question about using this system. It's kind of complicated... I am unable to do this hiit training due to having brain surgery recently in April. I have balance/vertigo and other issues. It has been a hard cpl of years, I also had ankle surgery in 2022 that still has issues. I'm not obese but see the scale going in the wrong direction. I've always been pretty healthy and fit my whole life, so this is discouraging... I found out through blood work that I'm also menopausal officially! Woo hoo!!!🎉 I love your fasting program and used it before both surgeries to get as close as possible to my ideal weight, but for obvious reasons, (lengthy recovery and bed rest) the weight has crept back up. I was also in the hosp for dbl pneumonia in July, which I'm still healing from, and my doctor put me on new meds suspecting asthma, which I'm going to get checked to rule out by pulmonary.
    What can I do!?!?
I'm so miserable, everything has been taken from me. I can't do any of the things I used to do! 😢 and I want to be healthy and fit again!
I've been looking at chair yoga for an option, but I know that isn't going to hit what you're talking about and certain movements I can't do because of head issues aforementioned.
    Please help!

I can't do much of HIIT due to worn out joints around my ankle and knees and back - years of excessive dancing as I used to be a professional dancer. Hoping to drop at least 20 kgs and the 30 day regime will help with that. Onto my 2nd round now..

I do 45 seconds on 15 seconds rest. Is it better to do 30,30? And what if health issues impact fasting? I have a strange issue of 15 years where I wake up around 5-6am with a burning acid pain in stomach (likely stress and food related however nothings helped including anti acids, ACV and meditation is best) but only thing that helps is 1/3-1/2 of milk. I suspect then fasting won’t help as interrupted by milk after 8hrs.

Thank you for your wonderful guidance and teaching style. I was wondering if there was a particular blood glucose monitor you would recommend. Whatever is going to do the best job for me to track any and all things that I need to focus on for healing (leaky gut, Hashimotos, sleep issues, etc.) I eat omad 5 days a week. It is usually ketovore. Not dirty. I take no medications anymore and fired my old school doctor. I have no problem fasting, but as my A1C was 5.6 (why I started my health journey) I don't want to break one problem (like my metabolism) while fixing another. It took over a year to heal some autoimmune issues (vitiligo, eczema, sleep issues,) and now I am losing about a pound every week or two. I'm feeling my energy come back and my brain fog seems gone. I have even had 1/2 my ear cut off from a skin cancer and with fasting etc. it all grew back perfectly (no surgery needed.) Thank you for all you do. Hi Dr. Mindy, I've just recently come across your content after hearing you on Jay Shetty's podcast and I've been binging everything I can find. I'm a mom to 3 boys and am just about to turn 41. I used to be very lean and healthy and run 3 miles a day but then life got busy and I gained about an extra 30 lbs. I committed in January to refocusing my priorities on exercising 35-40 minutes 5 days a week which includes weight lifting all 5 days and tracking macros but for the last 10 months I've maybe lost a couple pounds. I know my body composition is changing but I'm very frustrated about not being able to shed any weight. My question is- I wake up at 5:30am to workout before I get my kids up for school. If I incorporate daily fasting I just don't know what that would look like for my day since my goal is to continue to build muscle but also shed fat. Can you point me in the direction of your resources that can help me with this?

What I tend to do is fast 18 hours, and 14 hours in I walk 45 minutes at a speed of 5.5km p hour. That whips up my heartrate. Than I drink 200ml to make up for fluids I lost. Do you think that works as good as HIIT?

I am a breastfeeding mom (exclusively) who gained a lot of weight from my first pregnancy with my first baby and now after recent delivering my second baby two months ago,, also this delivery was traumatic as well as I developed preeclampsia so it was a emergency C-Section,, I really want to lose the weight but I cannot! I can’t do any diets because I’m exclusively breastfeeding my baby🤲🏻 I worry the milk supply will drop,, so I’m stuck, some women lose weight while breastfeeding,, I’m the kind who gains weight while breastfeeding because of the increase of hunger😢. Before having kids I used to looooove fasting it made me so light and happy and felt great, but now I would love to fast but I can’t do that while breastfeeding 🤱 ,,, is there any chance I can fast? Any advice?😢

Learned so much from How to Burn body Fat Extremely Fast! thank you! And.... I don't have fat thighs. Never really have. Very strong for 70. But, belly/visceral fat is where it started collecting on me at least 55 years ago. Yup! So... white fat eh? Okay... I'll start working with that. Cold hmmm... 58* okay. Dont't have a shower, only bath, while finishing house. I guess it will be learning the cold plunge.
Will doing all the things to build thigh muscles help to take from white midriff and belly fat?
