I am a 61 year old woman. I have tried every weight loss method possible. I started following these principles- incrementally (but not perfectly) on September 1 of this year…. Today (December 2) I stepped on the scales and I have lost 35lbs. I have struggled with my weight my entire life and my mind is blown by the simplicity and effectiveness of these principles!!! I do not count calories. I removed the junk. I no longer crave sweets. I started watching my blood sugars and ketones (I am not diabetic), I look at food completely differently now. I walk 30min a day and a couple a days a week weight training- so very “doable”. Thank you so much for your videos. I have shared with family and friends and several have started the same journey because of your great information and they are inspired by my success.

Congratulations! So happy that you have been so successful. After being on Keto and Intermittent Fasting for 4 years I can see what is missing. The whole foods they said were taboo such as fiber from veggies and fruit and walking every day must be the missing link.
Ke we cup your great success😀

When my sister died I knew I would have to lose weight. A friend had lost weight during the time I was taking care of my sister. Asked her if we could be partners. She agreed. I cut my carbs, had half slice of bread per day, and very little sugar. I decided to walk. At 273lbs and 5 1" that is all I could manage. So, the first time I walked to the fence of my complex. Each day was a little farther. I lost 111lbs. TBC

As of yesterday 3/4/2024...from 173lbs down to 147lbs since 08/2023! My goal is to be in the 130's by my seventieth birthday in May. I haven't been in the 130's since I was in my fifties and smoked 2-3 packs of cigarettes a day. I quit cigs in 2007, and haven't touched one since. Did I mention I feel GREAT!!

Im 58 years old was 70 pounds over weight. Started keto with a 24 hour fast every Monday. My eating window is 8 hours. I lost all 70 pounds in 4 months and I’m now at the weight I was in High school. I was an athlete in school and at my best health. I have recently gone on a 72 hour fast and had more energy at the end of the fast then when i started. Thank you Dr Mindy for all your great tips and videos. You have saved lives!!!❤

At 53 years old, suffering from sleep apnea and a myriad of other weight related issues, I decided to make an appt to talk about gastric sleeve surgery. Thankfully, my insurance did not cover it. I decided that day that I would give this one last chance and figure out how to lose the extra weight on my own. In less than 4 months I have lost 44 lbs through whole food, low carb and intermittent fasting. I watch these videos religiously and have purchased both, Fast Like a Girl and The Menopause Reset. They have changed my life. My sleep apnea is almost gone and I no longer need antacids every night. I’m so grateful that this is working. I’m getting my life back.

I started doing 75 hard on January 1st 2024, it was February 24th and I hadn’t lost a single pound. In fact I had gained weight. I stumbled upon Dr. Mindy’s name on a podcast episode and started looking into intermittent fasting. I had done it before but I was not as dedicated. This lead me to buying Fast like a girl. I literally ready it in 3 days (and I have two very young children 😂) I couldn’t put it down. So informative and just so well written. I have the book highlighted and with sticky notes all over. Anyway… all that to say that I began my fasting journey and I’m still figuring out exactly what works for me, but I’m proud to say that I’ve lost 15 pounds and I’m so excited because I know it’s just the beginning! I cannot believe that I am 31 and just now learning how to eat to support my hormones. Why are we not taught these things in school? 😅 Grateful I can teach my daughter and break the cycle. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world! Big, big fan! 👏🏼

I could never "do" starvation dieting very well. Calories in calories out just didn't work very well. Then I watched UA-cam videos on keto and intermittent fasting, and that was the game changer! I ate 1,600-1,800 calories per day, and the weight kept coming off. Fasting 16 hours a day (just don't eat after dinner, and eat at lunchtime) was easy after a couple times. I wasn't even hungry once I did it a few times...you adapt. I lost 45 lbs, and that was 2 1/2 years ago. I stay away from (inflammatory) sugar and refined carbs like white flour. I eat high carbs and sugar on vacations, and special occasions. I do gain weight, I just go back to keto and intermittent fasting, and the weight just naturally comes off again. The first 4 days of keto and intermittent fasting getting started is hard...carb withdrawal, but after that it was just like magic. I lost my brain fog, I no longer craved an afternoon nap, and I woke up refreshed and didn't hit the snooze...lots of energy. I can't say enough about the body benefits, and how it has changed my life. Blessings on all who took the time to read this!😊

Since I listened to your Diary of a CEO interview I've lost 28.5kg or 62.8lbs since August 23 following intermittent fasting principles and walking an hour every day since the end of September. I was in a dark place after suffering some losses, but my mental resilience, joy in life and ability to cope as well as my weight has improved. I joined Bodyslims for extra pep and using your man Ger's motivation and your information is so helpful in getting me to goal. Looking forward to attaining my goals next year. Watched tons of your videos and taking notes. My husband has been very supportive and got me you Fast Like a Girl book. I finally got the courage to practice what you taught. Since July 2023, I have safely lost 9 lbs. A1C is down to 6.5 from 7.7. I have 6 lbs to go to be within my ideal weight. I have a calendar I follow based on the moon cycle. I have not incorporated exercise yet. Like your story about your 300lbs client, I only moved the time of when I eat and I can totally attest, what you have been teaching us works. Mindy!! I am 34 years old and I’m 5ft 2 inches tall. By the end of last year I weighed 191 pounds and I was so over it ! My stomach was so messed up, my microbiome was terrible. Anything I ate I would bloat ! I was on omeprazole for my ridiculous stomach pain. And I was so miserable !
Then I came across your videos and started implementing your methods little bit by little bit first with the walking after dinner, then the 12 hour overnight fast , then the longer fasts and the 3 day water fast, and moving to Whole Foods. As of this time last year I have lost 40 lbs!!!! I’ve never felt better and the weight came off so easy, especially since taking in the hormone cycling ! I’m now strength training doing Pilates and walking everyday and being careful with my food choices. I’m so thankful to you and the people you interview on your resetter podcast for all the information that you have given me to CHANGE MY LIFE !!! I’m not exactly where I want to be just yet but with all these tools in my belt now I have so much hope to be in the best shape of my life this coming year and keeping it that way. No more counting calories and doing stressful workouts and beating myself up !!! ! Your information changed my life and the life of so many people ! I’m constantly telling all my friends about your methods and sharing your videos !
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!!!!!❤❤❤❤

We're the same age and saw height! Lol I've been on such a journey myself, ever since I was young. But in Aug 2019 my gf told me about how she lost so much weight and it was through keto. So I did that and I naturally fell into intermittent and extended fasting. With walking at night which eventually turned into jogging (for 4 to 6 miles.) And in March 2020 I had gone from weighing my heaviest at 201 lbs in 2019 to weighing 138 lbs in March 2020. And then I met my boyfriend lol and I am back up to 170s. And I feel like poop. I've been watching a ton of Dr. Mindys videos i also bought her book on audible (and just recently the actual book on Amazon) so I'm learning how to fast around my cycle. I just started spotting today so I've decided to start my 36 fast (5:45p since last night no food.) I'm just trying to get into a lifestyle that I can do for a long time. And I've been pescatarian since 2017....I really want to get back down to the 140s or 130s if I can. I got a stationary bike from a coworker a few months ago and I love that (I use the Peleton app which is fun.) And recently a higherdoes infrared sauna blanket. Can't wait to try that since I've heard many positive things about detoxing the body and switching you into a more relaxed state. I think the reason (among a few others) is that my cortisol is high due my work load (I work 3 jobs but I love them) and so that may be preventing the keto diet working for me this time around. Not sure but ...I'm glad I saw your comment!! It's hard to find others around our age experiencing weight loss via fasting and low carb. (And thank you for letting me share and vent hehe) take care!

Male 56 here. I started my journey end of May 2023 at 275 pounds (125kg) at 1,80m (5‘10) with serious signs of metabolic syndrome - I just had enough. I also stopped smoking in March 23 after a life long addiction.
Started off with low carb, soon reached keto and with the help and advise of all the awesome UA-cam doctors tried the intermittent fasting.
Last Friday intent to my work Christmas party (yes, I did eat carbs and drank quite a bit of gin & tonics) and my colleagues were all amazed at how fit and healthy I look. As we all work mostly remote from home, I haven’t seen them for months.
I am at 94kg (208 pounds) right now, and I feel so great.
I must admit, it all is so much easier in spring/summer time. We currently have a really frosty winters period with a lot of snow and 5°F overnight here in Bavaria. Even though I go outside with my dogs every day, it is rather difficult to walk in the snow.
I plateaued somehow at this 95kg mark, but I am not to worried about it. My doctor halted my blood pressure meds daily dose. I simply continue my IF of 16/8 and 23/1 depending on how I feel any given day.
I cannot help but think that the occasional switch to carb containing foods (like at the work party with all our delicious Bavarian dishes and desserts) is absolutely fine metabolically speaking. I simply continued with ketovore meals over the weekend.
My goal is to hit 85kg again, like in my late 30s 😂 I still have most of my clothing from that time, which is the best part of it all, to try them all on and looking at yourself in the mirror.
Thank you Dr. Pelz for all your helpful information, which gives a massive boost of motivation to read other people’s success story!
And yes, there is no way I ever go back to the standard promoted western diet - with the very rare occasional exception. I don’t crave it anymore. Period!

I'm 100# overweight and these past two months, I've been able to clean up my diet, and started to wrap my head around how i can begin this fasting lifestyle. I've lost a few pounds but what I've gained is even more empowering. I have gained these tools that have given me hope that my body isn't broken and i WILL be able to lose the weight. I've learned things about my hormones and cycles that i should have known long again but now I'm teaching my daughter's. Here's the best part, just from cleaner eating and TRE and starting to close up my eatting window little by little i no longer have plantar fasciitis 😮 I've struggled with it for 10 years! No more pain when i walk around🎉 I've lost inches, i have SO MUCH more energy! I actually want to exercise and though I'm overweight and i can't yet do a ton of it, my recovery is like a day instead of days and days from light exercise. I'm so grateful for your book, and the podcasts and videos are keeping my motivation going after reading your book. Thank you so much!! I hope to have extra money to join your community in the future but for now I'm just excited that these baby steps are making such a difference in my life. Truly grateful.

Love your station! Love your vids!! Last year I had to cut 10 lbs relatively quickly for a tournament (I am a boxer who is also menopausal). I already predominantly eat/ate whole foods, follow the keto diet and next to zero processed. So.....I watched your videos and wow!! I followed your fasting guidelines and I did it! I lost the weight so easily and made the tournament (I won btw!) I lost the weight without having to feel hungry or denied once. That was last year and I have kept to fasting ever since. I have kept to it however, mostly because I have found I physically and mentally feel much better and not just for the weight loss I experienced early on.
And to anyone out there who thinks they cannot work out prior to breaking their fast ( I do know some folk fear feeling less powerful), I work out every morning for 2 hours not having consumed a thing other than water (I do have electrolytes in my PH balanced aqua). Interestingly, after breaking my fast and working out again in the afternoon for the same duration, there is no difference to my particular power or output.
Dr. Mindy thank you so much!! I believe in your revolution!

Hi dr. Mindy. I’m a 45 year old Australian woman. In the last few years I’ve lost 57kg through better food choices, loose intermittent fasting etc. I had put a little back on this year through stress and slipping with my choices. I was still fasting but didn’t know if I was doing it “correctly”. I bought your book to learn more and go deeper into fasting. Today I’m on day 10 of the 30 day reset and I’m feeling improvements already. My gut health had been very poor due to lots of stress and too many processed foods, and my belly was growing. My belly was always loudly complaining and causing me grief. About a week into the reset I have started to notice a reduction in belly fat and bloating, and my gut seems so much happier. I’m not being super strict with it, I’m trying to remain fun and curious with it and experimental. I know I will adopt more and more positive choices as I continue because it will just be organic to do that. I still have questions and often come to UA-cam to continue to learn from you. I thank you for this channel and the exuberant nature with which you share and impart knowledge. X

Thank you for sharing so much on fasting. I watch your videos everyday to learn about fasting and understand more about how my body works. I also got my cycle back to 27 days. And I feel better than ever. I am completing 60 hrs of fasting today timing it to Day 10 of my cycle.
I am trying to pay it forward by introducing more and more women and men (if they are open to the idea) to fasting. I keep guiding them to your channel because it's a goldmine of information. Thanks once again for the gift you are sharing Dr Mindy. Sending you lots of love, gratitude and blessings ❤

Love the sucess I'm finding with all the tools you've given me! 42 years old and my weight has slowly crept up the past few years. But my biggest concern was my A1C was up to 59 and I wanted to halt that progression to diabetes. Found you and have adopted so many of your tools. 5-6 months in and down 25 lbs. Hit 150 and I'm feeling confident in my body and just feel more energetic and productive than I did prior to finding your channel. Will be interesting to see how my A1C has reacted to my changes. Also, hoping I can maintain my health with this lifestyle and not yo-yo back up. I'll keep learning!

As .54 year woman I agree so much with Dr Mindy. I have experienced changes in diet due to environmental factors and conscious changes , I look forward to buying your book. 30 years ago I moved to Italy . Upon moving to Italy my diet changed drastically and instantly I lost a good 20 pounds . In the states I ate more processed foods through University and soda , normal amounts . I was fairly thin in Italy for 25 years and then during covid I gained weight . Really strict lockdown, became a master baker , pasta maker and oh well twenty pounds later ! After I went to an Italian dietitian who completely changed everything . To tell you the truth before I fasted everyday .My Dietitian changed that , she reintroduced breakfast ( savoury) anyway a few tweaks (even moderate amounts of carbs )pasta , bread , potatoes I was able to drop 25 pounds. Anyway,I believe our taste buds can adapt to being healthy! Carbs need to be present but not dominant! ❤

Hi, Mindy! Love your videos as always :) I am now down 55 pounds from August first/4months. I completed my first 4 month challenge of cutting sugar and carbs out almost completely fasting intermittently, and 36 to 48 hours fast randomly twice a week. Everything has improved, I'm finally getting 1.5 to 2 key tones, as well as my blood sugar has come down.❤

Hi, thank you Dr. Mindy, I have lost a whole 25 kg with your teachings from 83 kg to 58 kg. It took 1.5 years to lose the first 10 kilos, with the old method, more exercise and less food - the weight loss stopped at some point. Then I found your teachings and the remaining 25 pounds have come off in the last 8 months.

As I’m typing, I am 20 hrs into a fast. Last year in November my Dr wanted to give me 4 Rx’s for hypertension, pre diabetes, high cholesterol and a CPAP. She knew I don’t care to take meds so, she gave me 6 months. I immediately stopped fast food, sugar, alcohol, eating too much and started walking. About a month later a friend noticed I was losing weight and asking if I was intermittent fasting. Went home, searched UA-cam for intermittent fasting. 6 months later the Dr said I no longer needed the Rx’s. A year later I’m down 90 lbs. Eating clean, TRF every day, longer fasts once or twice a month. Never going back!
    ps, I’m 63

Thanks Dr Mindy, I am 66 yrs old, I look 50 something as told by tons of people! I have been walking since I was 8 yrs old, My Mom and I used to walk our dog every night after dinner, walking is my first choice in exercise, anything in Nature or by the water soothes my soul!
So 58 yrs later I believe walking has helped me feel and look younger, it definitely is my therapy and helps me deal with tons of stress!!
After my daily walks anywhere from 3-5 miles a day definitely helps keep the pounds off! I tore 2 tendons in my ankle 7 months ago and wore “ The boot” the pain was 9-10 daily for 4 months, I couldn’t walk! I gained 30 lbs and my mental health declined badly, so now I am healed & back to walking!
But at 66 the pounds are Not budging uugghh! So with back to walking I will go to a “ Whole food” intermittent fasting of 16 hrs off & 8 hrs on approach, praying it works!! I feel horrible with this extra weight!!
Love your videos and I am New to your channel this is my 3rd video so FAR, CAN’t wait to see them ALL!!!

I had stopped weighing myself because I was so resigned to being overweight/obese. I'm 5'3" and was in the range of 170 to 180 lbs. Then I heard about the dangers of seed oils and decided to cut them out of my diet as much as I could. I went from eating fast food 2 to 3 times a week to none at all, and eventually cutting out nearly all refined/processed foods from my diet. In 3 to 4 months, I lost about 30-35 lbs without changing my activity level at all. After I hovered at 140-145 for 6 months or so, I heard Dr. Mindy talk about fasting. I've successfully lost 10 more lbs using intermittent fasting, and plan to lose 10-20 more in the next few months. I'm so looking forward to being the healthiest I've ever been in my life.

      @kristhal5 6 місяців тому

@annachapman8369 I'm at your starting point (similar stats). How much did you eat daily? I already don't eat seed oils n junk, but I just maintain.

    • @annachapman8369
      @annachapman8369 6 місяців тому +7

@kristhal5 I have not counted any calories in this time period, so I can only give generalities. During the time that I lost the 30/35 lbs and then maintained, I ate three meals a day and ate until I was full. I would guess my most common foods were coffee with half and half and honey, eggs, steak, hamburger, steakums, salmon, cheese, Greek yogurt, mandarins, and apples. Of course, there was some variety in there (potatoes, rice, onions, chicken, asparagus, the occasional "treat" on special occasions), but I really focused on protein and whole fruits/veggies, and cooking only in the good fats (coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, ghee, butter).
In the three months that I've experimented in incorporating intermittent fasting, I've found that for me, eating one meal a day (lunch) is my sweet spot to losing consistently. Of course, there are ups and downs with my cycle, the holidays and other special occasions, and just figuring out what foods work well with my body. What's helped me most in figuring out what is or isn't working for me is a food diary. I write down all my meals and the time that I ate them (no calories though, just the foods). I weigh myself every morning, write down my eating window for the previous day, how much I gained or lost, and take stock of what types of foods I ate and/or the timing of them to see if I can pinpoint what helped or harmed. For example, I know that even if I only eat one meal, having rice noodles at that meal will make my weight go up a pound. Having fruit at the one meal will not. I can still have coffee with half and half in the morning, but if I have honey, too, I'll stall on weight instead of losing half a pound.
I'm really having fun testing things out and seeing immediate results, even if they're in the opposite direction I want to go! Everything is a data point. And buying some size 4 jeans for the first time since high school ALSO feels amazing.

Hi Dr. Mindy. I've lost 50 lbs (30 within 3 months) in the last year, just introducing "messy" intermittent fasting with keto. There were times I got stressed and worked on maintenance, or other health goals and things slowed down. I've got about 45 lbs left to go, and I've just discovered your channel in the last month. I got your book and audiobook, and I'm so excited about incorporating fasting according to my cycle! I think it's going to make a huge difference. i'm a post menopausal woman- I wish I had found you earlier but whatever I'm glad I found you when I did. I'm 57, started a fasting lifestyle around November 2023 although I just started by restricting my eating window. By Jan of this year I started to do slightly longer fasts anywhere between 17-20 hours. The longest fast I have done is 42 hours. The last four weeks I have done a 24 hr fast every week and cleaned up my eating and although it's not perfect it is wayyy better than before. I'm doing the advanced 30 day reset and timed it with the new moon. I have always loved to move my body as an ex serious martial artist I like to alternate between weights, resistance walking, cardio and yoga- I think I've lost about 7-9 lbs in total. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but my clothes feel much looser, and i'm starting to fit into clothes that I haven't been able to in many years. I have more energy, no brain fog at all and my hot flushes have decreased enormously. Also my joints feel much more supple and my hair no longer sheds AT ALL when i take a shower- That is a huge change because I was losing a lot of hair when I showered and brushed. My sleep is still sporadic, some nights good others, not so much but I'm working on it. You have changed my life and I am beyond grateful. Fasting is my lifestyle now and I cannot imagine going back to any other way of eating etc. I share this information with all the women I know and so many of my friends are starting this lifestyle too. My younger sister has also been on this journey and as a result has healed her frozen shoulder and AND HER LUPUS has gone into remission!!!! I am hoping to do a 3-5 day water fast at some point this year but I think that would best be done with someone else or in a group. Thank YOU Dr Mindy you have changed my life
