As a Dentist, I worry about the acidic drinks which will cause erosion and decay. I see it happen all they time. I'll have a patient who never has decay, they will come in and have 4 or 5 cavities. It's about the frequency not the quantity. So be wise and don't sip all day (or you'll get decay). Make sure you drink normal flat water to neutralize the mouth. Thanks.

I do a daily 20 hour fast every day. I only drink plain water during my fast. I never feel hungry. I’ve never extended my fasting window because I’m at a good weight. Intermittent fasting just showed me how I was eating out of habit and not due to hunger.

    • @DrMindyPelz
      @DrMindyPelz  Рік тому +100

That's wonderful to hear that intermittent fasting has been such a positive experience for you! It's amazing how fasting can help us recognize true hunger versus eating out of habit. If you are already at a good weight and feeling satisfied with your current fasting routine, there's no need to extend the fasting window. Consistency and finding what works best for your body and lifestyle are key to long-term success with intermittent fasting. Keep up the great work and continue listening to your body's signals!

Similar story here. I'm at a normal/slim weight (I can see my collar bone, ribs and hip bones, etc.), but I have some stubborn belly fat/visceral fat to get rid of. I do a 18-20-hour fast daily, with mostly plain water, but sometimes drink a cup of water with a little Apple Cider Vinegar (with The Mother) in it. I also credit Intermittent Fasting with showing me when I was eating due to habit and not out of hunger. It's also reduced my overall appetite (which was never huge anyway) and has made me more thoughtful and sensible in choosing foods that serve my body. I've always been a healthy, conscientious eater with good self-restraint though.

Best home made electrolite water for fasting:
    - spring water
    - 2 whole lemons with skin chopped
    - piece of ginger chopped (how big depends on your taste)
    - pinch of celtic or sea salt
boil water for a few (5) minutes to restructure, add above and let sit for about 30mins. Strain.
To drink mix half and half with additional spring water. ... It relieves brain fog, hunger, and is also very energizing. .... Blessings

Back in 2020, I was weighing 85kgs, but with the help of IF and HIIT workouts, I was able to bring my weight down to 58kgs in less than a year! But sadly, after just a year, I lost track of my routine and slowly got it all back (I am now probably even bigger than I was before) BUT I DO NOT WORRY. Because I know, I got my knowledge on Intermittent fasting from one of the best teachers out here on UA-cam and I know now how to shred it all off once again, and I will make a promise to myself that I will stay and fit and healthy! Thanks to YOU & Intermittent Fasting! Much love from the Philippines!

I have a terrible sweet tooth 😢 but now found the perfect drink to stop hunger 😊
I peel and cut a ginger root piece (size of a big thumb) and put it in the blender with a little bit of cold water. Blend for a few seconds so that the ginger is quite chopped up. Then I boil 1.5 litres of water and pour all together in a large teapot. I let it cool down for about an hour. Then I add 4 tablespoons of lemon juice and I sweeten it wit pure stevia sweetener. I researched it and found that „… intake of stevia sweetener does not affect the blood glucose level. Unlike the low-calorie synthetic sweeteners, stevia is quite safe, non-toxic and non-mutagenic; also, it is 200-times sweeter than the regular sugar (sucrose) and calorie-free.“
    Yay ❤😊
Oh and the left over ginger bits I use in cooking at the end of fasting 😉 waste not, want not ❤

I was on the Profile diet by sanford and lost 80 lb ......while on it, I ended up having my gallbladder out. IN LATE 2018
Ever since, my life has been difficult physically. I gained 35 back during covid.... found out that I need to take magnesium and vitamin d for the rest of my life, which is helping to reverse the issues I was having (long story) so this year I was trying the high protein lowcarb diet again and felt like I was dying.... I figured it was my liver in overdrive from all the protein.
I started having loud tinnitus in my ears 3 months ago and found out it could be Gut Dysbiosis....
Then I found you, and I am starting to feel a lot better. I don't have ringing in my ears every day, and I am working on healing my gut❤
    Sorry so long!
But, I can't wait to be another success story!
P.s I bought kiefer and a different type of sauerkraut from watching one of your videos!
Can I get the link to your academy?

I have to admit...I've seen a few of your videos now and I saw you for the first time on a clip from the podcast you did on The Diary of a CEO. I had never seen either of you two, and then after the clip, I saw the whole podcast and learned alot. Saw it last week. I'm going to do my 1st 36 hour fast. I started it today after dinner at 5:45 pm. I'm excited and nervous. I plan on breaking the fast Tuesday morning with an avocado and 2 or 3 hard boiled eggs.

@suchitasharma9534 it went well. It was honestly a lot easier than I thought it would be for me. Especially if you can time it out in a smart way. I decided that my last meal would be dinner on a Sunday night. Monday was a little hard aroundlunchtime, but I just drank wate, and then I was good for the rest of the day. I got hungry again around bedtime on Monday but I just brushed my teeth and went to bed. I didn't wake up hungry Tuesday and I can't remember if I ate breakfast or lunch that day. I was very proud of myself. It really is all in the mind.

@@Legacymom0122 Thank you for sharing! It has just been 4 days but since I have started I can feel my appetite has reduced which makes things easier. As of now my fasting starts from 6.30 pm to 10.30 am. The last hour is really difficult but once I eat something even during the eating window I dont feel like eating much. If I could maintain this for another week or so maybe I ll try to do longer. I will refer your timing for 36 hours..when that day comes🤞

I know you mentioned Yerba mate but teas like rose, hibiscus, chamomile are also known for helping with fat burning. Is this OK to drink? I pick and dry my own herbs for teas and I think teas in general would really help me make it through the fasting 😀

Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my UA-cam channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a UA-camr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I ain't better than anyone else but my old self. That's all that really makes this UA-cam thing more meaningful and enjoyable. Thanks so much for your support! Thanks again for this inspiring video !! For me hydrogen water is something I haven‘t really heard about . Is it something you buy in bottles or do you make it from ordinary water ? I live in Germany , so hopefully it‘s the same here .
Wish you a wonderful Sunday ☀️💪🏻

Big keys for me were learning (1) not to feed a fed stomach and (2) understanding the difference between fasting and not eating.

Dr Mindy, Is chewing sugar free gum allowed during a 17 or 24 hour fast?

What should I do if something brings me out of a fasted state before I’m ready? Do I just begin my eating window then and restart the next day? Or can you just stop drinking what pulled you out of the fasted state and keep moving towards the scheduled eating window?

Since your fast is broken, I would go ahead and eat if you are hungry and start again the next day. I think it’s good to test things that can break fast for your body. It will help doing fasting in the long run a lot more efficiently for you.

Hi Dr, Mindy! How do you know when you are being pulled out of autophagy? You mentioned this around 11:05 in relation to collagen...that it pulls you out of autophagy. THANK YOU!

By checking blood sugars after you've drank what she is suggesting. Within a 1 hour window after drinking. If your sugar level spikes you are no longer fasting.
