Handling Tough Emotions

  • Several people have written in with a similar question. It is usually along these lines: "Can you help me handle my emotions better?" First, I want viewers to know that it's awesome that you're pursuing answers to helping yourself handle your emotions better. Second, I want you to know that you're not alone in what you're experiencing: Difficult emotions are considered "difficult" for a reason - they feel overwhelming. As I always tell people, "It doesn't matter how tough you are, you still have a 3lbs brain, and emotional pain hurts no matter how physically tough you are...." Finally, I want you to know that there is a path to handling absolutely everything you feel. Nowhere will I ever say that any of this is easy, because it's NOT; but I will say that it's possible to handle your emotions more effectively, because you most definitely can.
Sending everyone who sees this, and everyone who doesn't, much peace.

God bless you Dr. Conte. Your book has absolutely changed my life for the better. Its helped me get over already so much of my anger issues. I seriously can't thank u enough. I think I'll come comment again when I'm done with the book. You're seriously an amazing helpful and truly caring human being giving back to the world in such an incredible loving way. You're the best dude! I think your book needs to be considered for reading in high-school as part of the curriculum. It could help so many young people and help prevent so many bad situations. Thank you so frikin much!!! ❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🤘🤘

The beginning is super triggering because I have debilitating spine conditions which have left me out of the gym or any exercise really for 2 years.. I used to workout twice a day seven days a week and it really brought out the bipolar and anger in me when I couldn’t fight off my demons with exercise..

My longest battle has been accepting things the way they are. It’s so tough for me because it seems so easy if they would just straighten up. Lol thanks Doc.

Lol. It's funny, but that's what our Cartoon Worlds do to us... They try to convince us that it really is everyone else... lol. But for real, the fact that you're trying is huge, and remember that we master what we practice, so the more you can practice accepting the reality of how things are, the easier it will get. Remember, too, that accepting the reality of how things are is not the same as never working to change them, it just means you start from where things are, not where you want things to be already.... I hope this helps. Definitely sending you much peace!
