  • A review of the Yonex VCOE Pro 97 HD, the most interesting of the VCORE line as it has a 18x20 string pattern.
I compare it to other rackets, consider its strengths and assess how it plays on baseline, at net ans through serves.

Wow thank you for your possitive review. Have waited for mine and played with them first time today. I know I wanted a raquet with low flex. But wow my backhand is back and how I like this thin beam! Even tho its 3 grams heavier then my Babolats strung it feels so much easier to swing. With strings and overgrip my 97 HDs weighs 340 gram. Was expecting a much heavier feel. Its really maneuverable. I strung it with 1.20mm polyester at 22kg. Thx again you helped me choosing raquet and my tennis felt really good today!

Nice review again, and agree with my experience with this one! I generally play with flexible rackets, which I found do well with soft mains, Natural Gut or Multi rather than poly. Also the power is quite low, so soft-mains helps, especially for a flatter game. Also think prestige MP is a nice racquet, maybe even with a better feel than this one, I use Angell K7 Lime as my main 18x20 for singles which has similar specs to the MP and great feel due to Aramid and low 61RA. I plan to play with Vcore Pro 97HD more for doubles.

I'm switching to this stick because I'm more of a doubles players now and I'm an attacking player so I need a flatter shot with more precision which this stick does great. Great review.

Andy is spot on! Here's my two cents: I bought the VCore Pro 97 310 one month ago, and immediately identified the stability issues mentioned by Andy in his 310 review video, so ended up adding 4 gm weight tape, (2gm either side at 10 and 2)and it has definitely helped. However, how having a 314gm racquet, I may as well have bought the 320 to begin with...l regret not buying the 320 HD, even though the 310 was a major upgrade on my old racquet and is the envy of my tennis coach! My reason for buying the 310 was I have a one-handed backhand and have been working hard on my consistency, so I really wanted that maneuverability, however adding 4gm specifically on the loop has affected that maneuverability on my backhand, so it's better to have more weight, 320gm, being distributed naturally by Yonex themselves rather than having the tape. Yonex should have made the 310gm as either a 315gm with the same balance, or ditch the 310gm and offer a 320gm with either 16 x 19 or 18 x 20 variant string pattern....simplicity, consistency and comparability in these racquet ranges is highly advised (in anyone from Yonex reads this!). So, 310gm is very good, but I suspect the 320gm is great and would agree with Andy, even though I haven't demoed it.

I loved the vcore hd it certainly takes some time for adjusting to it. I had to swing it with a really full swing while playing with it. It promoted great form. Once you get used to it delivers on all bases great control spin and some access to power but you got to work for the power a little. Plays like a very traditional feeling racket. I agree with him on everything he says it’s very unique. This racket will help you get better at tennis I feel but is definitely for an advanced player. I ended buying a vcore pro 310 because I absolutely loved this racket but felt it was a little too heavy and thought I can add weight where I wanted. But I’m missing this racket a little bit honestly I’ll probably ad weight and make it mimic the vcore hd.

I've used this racquet since its release, albeit whilst I've tried many others during this period.

Maybe you could make a video about customisation (adding weight) of rackets.

Yonex HD or head pro tour 2.0? Which one do you like the most? (In terms of playability, better ball etc... Because obiously the head paintjob is the favorite)

Would love to know how this and the Graphene 360+ MP compare to the Dunlop CX 200 Tour 18x20, assuming that the Dunlop has some weight added. I hope to be choosing one of these shortly.

for a players playing with vcore pro 97 310 , u think this racquet will tire him (heavier) and the period of adjustment will be like days or like months?
