This or the yonex ezone 100?

Coming from an i.Prestige, I recently bought a Prestige Tour and echo your sentiments almost exactly. If the Tour was a 98 or 99, I think it'd be pretty close to a perfect racket for me.

Hi Andy. I also use the blade 100 v8 with lead. How would you compare this one to the new head speed mp 2024 (in more detailed) ?

I switched from the Radical MP to the Blade 100 v9 this year. I love it, but mine came in over-spec around 330sw.

Is this version more comfortable because of the auxetic 2.0

Upgraded to this from my beginner racquet (Wilson Ultra V2 100L) and am really loving it. Natural gut mains and 4G soft at 54 / 50 and feels perfect. It definitely instills some confidence in me.

I would love to watch your comparison in between this group of raquets (100 control) and which one is your favourite.

You really enjoyed the Dunlop CX400 Tour. Now that you have played with the new Blade 100 v9 which do you like better? We seem to have similar playing styles. is the 2024 good for a 3.5 player? right now i got the extreme mp 2022 but i guess im not hitting with enough spin to get control (shots often too far out) so im considering getting the speed mp instead

I love my new cx 400 tour as well. My strung SW was also 319 and I bumped it up to 321 with a little weight

Try out the Babolat Pure Drive Tour. My only racket I added no lead only a leather grip. I am a nerd and I know 80% of all rackets. Probably it is not for everyone , but it also works on my onehanded backhand. My racket of choice is the Pro Staff v14 and RF v 13 .

Ive played with an ig radical for many years now. My racquets are quite beat up and probably need a change. I cant find anything similar today, especially since every racquet is incredibly muted. Thoughts?

As mentioned by another commenter, I completely agree with you about the Boom MP '24, a fabulous and powerful racket with just enough control for players who kid themselves that they can handle 95-98sq control rackets (myself included)! Like you, I find it best to add weight at 10 and 2/widest part of the racket (1g each), taking it to 322sw, and a little weight in the handle to bring the balance to 32.4cm + 325g static weight (I'd probably add a little more tailweight for a one-hander). For my racket, this also brings the twist weight up to 13.4. Strings suit being strung a little tighter imo, so I've used Poly Tour Pro @ 55lbs and Lynx Tour @ 53lbs, both are outstanding. Honourable mentions must go to the Pure Strike 100 16x19, surprisingly controlled, I consider it a more attacking version of the Speed MP '24. Also, the Prince ATS 100P, is probably the most accessible and inherently HL 18x20 I've played with. Lastly, keep your eye out for the Head Radical MP '18x20' version that is about to go on limited release in Europe, I suspect this will be a strong contender in this racket category.

i am playing a cx200 tour 18x20 and am considering switching over to something more like this for forgiveness. my question is, do any of these rackets perform as well at the net? i dont think i will react well to the lack of weight compared to my current frame either (330 sw 342 static).

Which of these do you like for a OHBH?

When you say someone might fit into this category if they're playing with a power racquet but lack control, does that mean they struggle to hit targets in your tests? And if a control player struggles with power, do you test that by measuring speed or depth? I'm kind of always questioning whether I'm leaving something on the table by not just adapting to a power racquet.

I started to use the Percept 100 about 2 weeks ago. I have used an Ezone 98 for the last 2 years so it was always going to take a lot for me to consider a switch to a new frame, but just felt I could do with a little more control as sometimes the power / my technique would send it long with the Ezone. Apart from that I have loved the Ezone 98 and had no complaints at all with it. After only about 10 hours of play I decided to use the Percept in my next match, having my Ezone in the bag in case I had made a terrible mistake! Just to note this is first ever 100 inch frame so was slightly worried that I was making a backwards step. The Percept was amazing though and not once was I tempted to take the Ezone out of the bag. I certainly felt I had more control; my serves were more accurate. I hit more aces than I have ever hit in a match, just through placement rather than power / speed. I felt I could hit the angles with confidence and although I still sent a couple long (as we all do) as long as I got the top spin right the majority of deep shots fell in the court and I would say my error rate was a good 50% better for deep shots. I still think the Ezone has more power overall, but the Percept 100 frame is not lacking in power, and I had it strung at 50lbs to give me any power I was missing from the 98 inch frame. Also it’s a 16 / 19 pattern so I didn’t feel as if I lost any spin as top spin is a big part of my game. Still early days, but at the moment I cant see me moving back to the Ezone, so feels like my first major change in racket since the Ezone was released two years ago!!!

Great review! How does the VCT 98 2023 compare to Blade V9 16x19 for an all court racket with bias towards comfort & spin, upper intermediate player? Also, I tend to overhit (few inches over back line) what string/tension do you recommend with VCT?

I was using the Extreme Tour which is so easy to use and great all around, tried the Prestige Tour and ended up switching for the unreal feel and find it quite manoeuvrable as well…using Head Lynx at 44LBS and want to try something shaped…Lynx Tour and Solinco Confidential I’ll be trying

Pretty sure alcaraz is using a stock aero 98, his frame no longer has the spin grommets at 6 and 12 like the vs did 😊

Noticed you put (I believe) Head Lynx Touch on the crosses of most of these rackets - why do you do this, and what do you pair it with on the mains?
