    I am using a hybrid poly tour 17 g and isospeed control 16g ( mains iso speed, crosses poly tour), I was wondering when playing with the full bed poly tour string bed, did you find you got enough grip on the ball to generate top spin. I am finding with my current set up I really have to get under the ball to generate a nice arc on the ball. I am not sure if the issue is with the hybrid setup and having the isospeed in the mains. With the iso speed strings it is recommended to be strung at 10 decent heavier then the other string ( 57lbs mains (isospeed) and 52 crosses ( poly tour).

    I am actually playing a tournament with the gravity pro 18x20. Great racket and i think the vcore pro 97D is competition for the gravity pro. Both thin beam, dense string pattern, flex, good plow through. Only the head size is different.

      @@XxCrazZyNo0oBxX I've bought 10 Yonex racquets over the past 10 years and I have never been this unlucky. Very abnormal to say the least and I hope not a sign of things to come, otherwise Yonex will have joined the ranks of Wilson, Babolat and many other low QC manufacturers.

    The last true Wawrinka racquet marketed was 16x20 and weighed 330g, not 18x20 and 320g. Stan never used 18x20. I played with the all orange Stan racquet and it felt sluggish and very heavy. I just hit with this one today and it feels totally different. I loved it.

    Why are you no longer checking the racquet specs when you’ve got that nice HEAD 3-in-1 machine? Given spec variances, having the actual specs of the racquet under play test gives useful information.

    • @CAMADIE
      @CAMADIE 2 роки тому +2

      He has been instructed by Yonex not to. Same as Dunlop. Harry's a racquet broker and his business relies on manufacturer supplies otherwise he's screwed. And I know Yonex can be extremely anal. Tennisnerd on the other hand is independent and can do what he likes.
      PS. It's a Prince machine, not Head.

    • @jerome_morrow
      @jerome_morrow 2 роки тому

      @@a2casius Thank you. I can see why racquet manufacturers would rather not have specs measured, especially during the launch of new racquet lines, since this would highlight their less than ideal tolerances and quality control.
      The typical “industry standard” of +/- 7g/mm/kg*cm^2 is a bit of a joke since that can cause a racquet to play completely differently depending on where it is within that tolerance range. That in turn can have a huge impact on a playtest review. I have plenty of tennis partners who naturally assume that all racquets are on-spec, and when I advise them otherwise, they look completely taken aback.
      (PS: Thanks for the correction. Harry’s 3-in-1 machine is a Prince indeed, not a HEAD. On an unrelated note, it’s a shame that Prince no longer sells this as it’s a rather nice design).

    TennisNerd's demo racquets SW were way off spec and given Harry is not checking the specs on these racquets, leads me to believe Yonex is starting to have QC issues with their racquet manufacturing now.

    • @andreyp8861
      @andreyp8861 2 роки тому +1

      Swingweight is not one of the listed specs that racket manufacturers provide. It can't be off spec if we don't know what the spec is supposed to be - that's the point that Jonas was making in his review. The spec that TW gives is just an average taken from the measurements of several frames.

    • @a2casius
      @a2casius 2 роки тому +1

      @@andreyp8861 TW specs are the industry standard specs I was referring to. They publish the data and believe me, if they're wrong, the manufacturers will be on their tail to correct. So, Jonas demos were off TW published specs which Yonex "must" have approved.
