    Another great practice! I'm still a long way off a good mermaid pose, but was very surprised to find I could at least grab the foot for the first part! Big progress has been made in 4 days.

    I am very excited that at 54 years of age I was able to get into wheel (backbend) and ALMOST into mermaid! Thank you for these videos Brett!

    What I like is making the flow my own. I only did 1/2 Mermaid, and no Pigeon, but I entered the sweetest child pose ever! Thank you. You look beautiful in Mermaid and King Pigeon, by the way!

    I'm so happy to be able to do this practice again! I had hip surgery almost a year ago, and I haven't been able to do much pigeon, but I as able to modify some of the poses today and it felt great. Thanks!

    I've made it to a king pigeon! Before when I was regullary streching I could immediately come to mermaid, but didn't know that it's an asana and it's from yoga. Thank you very much for this wonderful sessions! Feeling energized! Namaste!

    This was a great practice! I didn't go to full Mermaid, but instead, I focused on keeping my bent leg at a 90-degree angle which felt great on my hip! Thank you!

    I made it to half mermaid i.e. from pigeon with a small bolster under the bent leg hip I could pretty easily hold my back foot with my hand. I had my opposite hand resting on the bolster. My body said to go no further so I just sat there in that pose and it felt amazing. Thanks for always giving us permission and reminders to go to our personal level in the poses.

    HI Brett :-) I am really enjoying this challenge! I moved through your chakra challenge and loved it and will continue to return to it! I am learning so much, thank you! After just finishing this session I have never felt my hips so open. I have been experiencing tight hips and shoulders for a long time now and I am gradually feeling them open up and becoming more fluid and feeling greater ease and flow. It feels soooo good!!! In turn my life is flowing more easily too, so beautiful! I haven't made it into mermaid or king cobra but today I was ok with that. I normally would get a bit frustrated but today I acknowledged how far I have come. I am really grateful for your work! Peace, light and love

    Pigeon is a challenge for me already, let alone marmaid and king pigeon ;) I really loved the class. So refreshing for my stiff hips

    Thank you for these videos. I've been lifting weights for 3 years. Recently, due to neglecting my stretches, I injured my knees (especially the left). I'm dealing with some tendonitis, thankfully not permanent damage. I have decided to take a step back and heal my body. Google led me to you and now on day 4, I've felt significantly better. Maybe it's the universe speaking to me that I shouldn't have let go from my yoga practice years ago. :)

    Goodness, that was a "stretch." I didn't quite make it to King Pigeon, but I surprisingly made it to mermaid pose with a little modification (block under my hip and another yoga mat under my knee). I am now ready to take on the day. Thank you Brett Larkin and Yogi Surprise! :)

    Wow day 4 was awesome. I could only get my foot in my elbow on right side but could not lift my left arm and just my hand to my foot on left for mermaid pose. Don't know if I will ever get there but it is so fun working on my flexibility. I could not have gotten anywhere near this last year when I first started practicing with you. I have learned through your teaching not to get caught up in the pose just enjoy the journey and boy I am enjoying it. Can't wait to join uplifted membership later in the summer.     I managed a really wonky-looking sort-of mermaid, hurray! :D But what really amazed me was how different just getting into regular Pigeon felt compared to yesterday, after the more intense opening that came before. Great class!

    What a lovely, energizing class! I did Day 3 and 4 back to back today, because I wanted a 1 hr practice. It was nice how both classes concentrated on the hips. Loved being able to go into Pigeon again in this class. It will be a while (maybe never!) before I can get into full Mermaid, but for now I am enjoying being able to go a little further in Pigeon than I used to. I think it was easier for me because of doing the previous class, which also featured Pigeon, so my hips were nice and warmed up.

    Felt great after this session. But no mermaid or pigeon for me. But a goal to work towards. My hips are super jammed and my shoulder blades are sore today so this session was a good burn. TY

    I absolutely love your videos!!! I decided to take on this challenge and I'm half way through and regretting it!!! I'm a beginner and I'm really struggling with these..... it's actually to the point where I'm feeling incredibly discouraged!!! I don't want to quit I want to complete the challenge but I'm actually starting to dread doing yoga instead of looking forward to it

      Please don’t give up. You will feel so good about yourself once you accomplish a pose that is challenging. It takes time. I’ve been practicing for years and have been only recently been able to achieve some medium to advanced poses like the crow pose. Never thought I could do it but practising 20 to 30 mins everyday helps give the strength and flexibility you need. The breathing is key and listen closely to Brett, she tells us how to move our muscles, resistance and tension plus breathing. It will happen.

    I made it to what I call half mermaid on the left and sorta half mermaid on the right. Half Mermaid equaling foot in hand and other hand in air. Good practice!

    Great class even though I did not get fully into Mermaid however it was a wonderful practice. I will totally keep working on this and hopefully someday I will be strong enough to complete Mermaid and of course king pigeon. If I ever successfully complete Mermaid I will be very happy. I feel so totally relaxed after this practice. Namaste!

    Got to mermaid. Not quite able to square shoulders and hips for king pigeon but will go through 8 day detox program again. The videos are perfect in length. I'd love to do yoga for an hour everyday but not realistic.

      After 5 months I can still say that I need to work on my king pigeon, but my mermaid is coming along, which makes me so happy to see/ feel progress, and I definitely felt that both sides were equal, so feeling great after this practice! Namaste.

    Great class. although I whish I was a bit more wormed up before doing the mermaid and king pigeon. I'm doing your clases in the morning, right after I wake up so I'm a bit stiff and it is more difficult to get into the pose.

    pigeon is my biggest challenge. I don't enjoy the stretch but get super emotional each time i hang out in it! And while i usually am very relaxed about how far i can get into a pose or not, here again, I just got angry for not even being able to 'enjoy' the stretch in pigeon, let alone get any further into holding my foot up! Must have some deep emotion stuck in my hips, I think...

      You don't have to do pigeon pose if you don't enjoy it! Do figure four on your back instead! Same benefits, less stress on the joints. This might help you relax into it more, give it a try and let me know how it goes

    Love it! Hips super open.. didn't get to foot to elbow mermaid, more foot to mid-forearm... will be doing it more often.... goal is King P! - PS also trying to get my strap game on its not an easy juggle...

    Loved this practice today! My hips are always so tight. I'm a mud runner. Training for a Spartan Trifecta so I will be training all year. Needed this. Where did you get your white crop top??? Must have

    haha. I have short T-rex arms, so it took me quite the stretch to get my toes to touch into the crevice of my elbow; I did it though. Great practice, thank you. Hopefully, in time, I can do the full mermaid. I'm getting there, but of course, that will take time. :) By the way, my head doesn't want to lift whenever I attempt the full wheel. Do you know why that is? Do I need to strengthen my upper body? Everything else wants to lift. lol.

      Yes, upper body strength will help. Having openess in the upper body and front of the body plays a big part too. Thank you for practicing with me!

    I want to do the wheel pose but it's hard lifing my upper body off the ground

    I've been practice for years and I cannot raise either of my back legs when in pigeon to get to mermaid - my hamstrings will not let my foot even leave the ground😔 any suggestions? I can touch my nose to my knees without a problem and can bring my head to the ground in wide leg forward fold - thanks for your lessons ✨

      Jim C try a strap? that's what i do for now, until i can reach myself
