I'm surprised this series doesn't have more views. I have really been enjoying them.

I really enjoy how you incorporate the fundamentals with the advanced poses. You give the right reminders of which direction your hips should be pulling/pushing. The breathing and stretches. Very helpful! 😊

Love a hip video. I loved the reminder about the hips taking years to unlock too! I tend to be too hard on myself and revert to the "well I've been practicing for xxx amount of time so I should be further". It was a timely reminder that this is a marathon and not a sprint.

Again thank you for all the variables. I liked to hear it take years to open up the hips. I am already so much more flexible than I was when I was young! Really enjoying being able to enjoy these great poses. And I agree in doing this challenge it's not how far we go but we are really present in the moment and in our body. So much to be grateful for. Namaste!

I loved this hip opener. I was able to get to compass pose. It really helps having you show the 3 levels of how to do the poses. This was my favorite practice so far of the 8!! I love the stretching at the beginning to get the body working, oxygen flowing and loosening up the stiff body! I usually put you on pause to hold some of the stretches longer! This really helps me. I have injured shoulders, neck, back, psoas and hips so these workouts are helping me and making me stronger without overstretching and doing each pose properly. Thank you!

I could do the compass pose!!!! This is the 8th day of regular yoga I have done in about 15 years. I was a Bikram addict for a long time. I missed these poses and it is so cool to see how my body remembers.

I really love practices that focus on the hips, it feels so great to me! I will never be able to do full Compass pose, I am sure of that! but that is not my goal. My goal is to go as far as my body wants to on any given day, and to be fully present there, wherever "there" is. It is a beautiful pose, though, for sure. I love to watch as people get into the full expression of these very difficult poses. It is so inspiring!

Hi Brett, I'm a bit late in joining the 18-day challenge, but that's ok. I'd just like to say a huge thanks for making practice so enjoyable and fun for all levels. I'm a beginner and in middling years, so I think I have a way to go before my hips open their full capacity. But I'm grateful for your support in where I am today. Hugs from London, Jeanie

Oh man, my hips are always my least fleixble part of my body. I was dreading this when I saw it on the email, but I really really enjoyed it! I think I may come back to this one once the challenge is over so that I can do more work on my hips. As always, thank you so much for a wonderful practice!

Love this hip sequence so much, mainly because I know my physical and emotional body need it, but as a teacher, what a fabulous sequence to lead into compass, but stop at rewarding levels and even stay for those who feel the sensations shy of final compass. Sooooo much gratitude, Brett.
You are so knowledgeable and gifted. LOL.....

I loved this hip expansion sequence. This is the second time for me going thru the 18 day challenge and it is amazing how much more flexible I am this time around. My mind is blown at how I have progressed in the past 4 months since I started practicing with you. As I mentioned previously I am 61 years old and have worked out in some way or another since my mid 30s but I have never seen my body change with all the aerobics, running, walking, weight work etc. as I have with practicing yoga almost daily for these past 4 months. I have also lost about 8 lbs and not sure how many inches but it is amazing. Thank you Brett for your awesome instruction. Namaste.

What a fun and interesting class! The compass pose? Yikes! Glad nobody was watching me - got my leg around the shoulder, but straightening it was impossible. I have positively never had my body in such a funny position! Got a sweat going - good! I really enjoy these practices, following the program one by one as my schedule allows me. Ok, usually I shoot for gentle/relaxing with some movement, so this was hard- but it was SO FUn for me!! I couldn't do half of it, but for some reason, I am slowly learning not to care and had a lot of fun trying. I ALMOST got y leg behind my shoulder (bent), and just left it where I got to and stretched it from there. Anyway, thankyou for helping me smile at myself tonight!! Many blessings!! Lol, I tried to do practice 9 before bed, and ended up having to skip to the meditation (hope thats not cheating). For some reason, I was in so much pain when I tried to do double pigeon again? I don't know why, but I had to give up that time. My legs didn't want to do anything, lol. I just went into what I could do of butterfly, and went to the meditation, still worth it though!!

hiii Brett , almost in compass pose , I had a moment were it was hard to extend the leg (when the knee is over the sholuder), and when I tried my back kind of arch and dont feel good, did you think I should continue exploring with the knee on the shoulder a little , or just keep on trying to extend the leg, ill wait for your comment, thanks for the practice namaste

I would practice in each stage until you are comfortable there before moving on to the next one. This will help keep your body safe, so you don't pull anything moving into a range of motion you aren't quite ready for yet. Your body will tell you when it's ready! Thank you so much for practicing with me!!

Hey Brett! I get angry during yoga videos dedicated to the hips. I have tight hips so the poses are more difficult and uncomfortable for me. I shy away from the hip sequences because of the frustration it creates. I was wondering what the connection between the hips and these negative emotions are? Thank you!
