- note: all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
forensic genealogy has resulted in arrests being made in over forty cold cases, and that number continues to rise. in today's video, we cover four cases in which genetic genealogy was used to identify suspects in cold cases in the month of march 2019 alone.

The first case of Annie - i'm not surprised nobody ever recognised her from the sketches they did, she looked soo different and much much prettier in real life! ;O
Yeah those recreations were pretty terrible.
It seemed to me the conceptual drawings were more like her actual appearance as time passed. Its amazing how they can even predict now from DNA the likely hair, eye and skin coloring of a skeleton. Most astounding was predicting her nickname. How often do "Jane Does" get a middle name anyway? Being found so 'close' to her home it is strange the family didn't find out about and claim her. I guess because the state to state info wasn't shared back then like it is now, even by police. Thinking back to the 50s and 60s, people got local news on local TV and in the local newspaper, i.e. home town and home state; any national news was pretty much only if it effected your town directly.
@Pamela Morris its actually delibrate, they emphise features because then the images look to real people dont actaully realise they saw that person since we dont actually pay alot of attention to everyone we see all the time, but when they make a point of exageratting identifiying features like overbites, scars, nose shape etc it triggers peoples memories better because people tend to notice the unusal or pronounced features more than anything else. its weird but it often works
@Pamela Morris I wonder if her parents had anything to do woth her death
@Journeystomake Alkebulan Right, still rather funny that they were using a name which she was actually called by.
It's amazing how many old men are going to spend their retirement years in prison or on death row with new technologies discovering who the victims and killers are.
It's awesome
It’s Great !!!
Those are not men
Sadly, some are already beyond our control or punishment. And, how many more have they slain while waiting to be brought to justice.
Cheering to think of them waiting for the tap on the shoulder, eh?😃
I'm seriously starting to like these genealogy linked cold case files!
Me too!
This Is My UzeHerName me too
@@shiwomino5775 there's a bit more to proving guilt than a stray hair.
Thank you Heavy Casefiles, for remembering these unfortunates.
It's strange how life screams at you. Annie screamed out her nickname. She wanted to be found. My cousin found a cat that was obviously loved but lost, the name Lucy, popped into his head. He found the owner who said, "oh her name is Lucy".
Divine premonitions!
Amazing that the Jane Annie Doe's real name was Annie!! I love these cases that finally get closure.
Like a divine premonition given to that worker from beyond the grave. She knew she’d be identified after all these years. Crazy accurate even though I assumed it was because Annie/Anna are so common but it was spot on.
I love how recent these casefiles are. Thanks again for your hard work.
Daria Wells YES!!!
This is one of the best channels on youtube. The music is right, not too loud and the voice is not at all annoying like some of the others. Great job heavy casefiles!!Keep you the great work!!
totally agree
Her voice could be louder. I can hardly hear it with full volume on my phone. Nice sounding voice though I agree.
I hope they do this on the boy in the box. Someone has a cousin or something that disappeared ages ago.
Lisa Gibson I totally agree with you I was actually thinking the same thing about him. I was wondering what it would take to have that happen, is it money? Does the police department need money to pay for the testing? Because I am sure a go fund me page would get enough to have the testing done. That child needs a name again. I know a lot of people agree with that. I just wish I knew how we could go about getting the PD in that area to do it.
Actually they are doing the boy in the box but that is law enforcement not dna doe project
@@amylapratt8964 why don't you start a GoFundMe page for him question then when you put to the please say I have this much funding to put it into this investigation. That would be so cool
Lisa Gibson boy in the box in I believe philly or nj? I really hope they find out who he was. I believe this case was back in the 70s
I read the details on the little boy. He was manicured, pedicured, hair cut, well groomed before being put in that box. My guess was his parents did it. Sad 😢. No child deserves that.
You’re the only murder mystery channel with good background music.. THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!!!
Hayley Hutchings Agreed 100%!!!!!
Check out Stephanie Harlow s channel, no background music and great intro tunes!
That Chapter uses awesome music too
I agree. The creepy music is a perfect backdrop.
I had absolutely no idea how far DNA forensics has come. Absolutely fascinating....keep up making the great videos!!
All you murderers and rapists who think you got away with your crimes, take heed. Justice is coming for you.
The story, the music, the voice, this is what I come here for. Thank you for them all! : )
Unlike others who came here for the story's you can watch music videos for what you implied you came here for
And read a story
Yes her voice is lovely. The music is nicely done not loud. And you can her voice clearly. Keep up the good work. This will be one of my favorite channels.
excellent combination of the three aspects
I love this channel, it goes over cases that other crime channels normally do not talk about.
Right on time!!! I was just about to feel sorry for myself for whatever dumb reason and then was able to see the sad end of these beautiful lives. I became immediately grateful for another day and will continue to pray for the families who have to mourn daily. Oh yes...yeah for DNA!!!
Amen .
Hugs 💚
I know!💔 they must have been so frightened. 💔❤💔
A men! It can ALWAYS be worse. Thank you for reminding me of this. Life is beautiful

You are Awesome! I needed your comment for some strange reason.. You Rock. We All Do when We Are All people like YOU ... AND WE ARE .... YOU are not alone !
It takes a special person to put these cases together , DNA doesnt lie. Thank you for being an advocate for these souls. You are doing an excellent job. 😊
It is really sad, that these people have waited 40 or more years to find the party responsible.
Anyone else finds it eerie looking at the old pictures and seeing the faces of people who were alive so long ago, so happy and died like that......?
There is something called a posthumous conviction where they can charge the dead suspect via the courts. That would legally declare that person the killer. Rationally, it’s pointless because the criminal is dead but It’s closure and justice for the family.
What an exciting time to be a true crime fan! I’m hearing so many stories of DNA being tracked through genealogy websites- it almost feels like every week now since Golden State Killer. I’m so here for this! 🏃🏻♀️
Thank you for making this video. It's such a great feeling when a cold case is finally solved!
Awww 💔...... these poor people and I'm so glad DNA matching has been done to find any and all these murderers because they had no right to take these people's lives!
And yes I agree with the police and detectives to subpoena DNA from these Banks.
You and the "Criminally Listed" channel should team up. Great video!!!
I was thinking the same thing. Her voice is nice and calm. Great job. I appreciate everyday I'm being woke up by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Each video is getting better and better. The subject matter in these videos are fresh and the presentation is top notch. Thank you!
I was thinking, "Dang, the suspect actually took the time to use dental floss?? I do, but probably because of those dental courses I took that went over how important it is. Like over half the people I know are so lax about that as part of their daily routine."
Then I heard, "Working as a dental hygienist-"
Yup, that makes sense.
The last case on the video (husband & wife homicide) seems odd that a suspect wasn’t identified at the time of the murders.
1973, things were different back then
Thank goodness for Parabon Nanolabs and thank you for covering these stories.
So glad to know that they do keep trying to solve these old cases, that their not just stored away and forgotten. Families deserve to know what happened to their loved ones. Thank god for dna.
Thank you HCF! Fantastic encapsulation and concise narration, no surprise there. Lovely work. Also, I assume most of your subs are fascinated by "true crime" like me. I actually contacted a few of these familial genealogy research not for profits to see if I could volunteer to help trace these family trees and contact relatives of the departed. I'm reviewing packets and hope to dedicate some time to it. Some HCF subscribers may find this interesting and a way to help.
You're awesome! I was just thinking it would be so cool to work for one of these companies helping give closure to so many families! I don't think I have enough education or smarts to do it but wow would I love to volunteer to do something like that!
I just stumbled upon this channel. For a new channel, she's doing a very fine job. When a name is put to these faces that have been lost for so long, I just seem to do a happy dance. Sounds odd, I know. I only do a victory lap when the killer/killers are caught. I have never thought about contacting these places, but you have me thinking about it. How would one go about doing so, if I may ask?
@@MamaPinks I'm certainly sure you have the smarts. You will end up up doing alot of cold calling to potential relatives, online research of the family tree. You will have the tree from the DNA tests already done. Maybe, just maybe if you speak to somebody you can convince them to submit their DNA for a test. Danielle, you're volunteering, education is not the same as dedication. I think you're vastly qualified.
@@80slady69 hello, I'm in illinois and all I did was was Google jane/john doe projects, crime stoppers, etc. You would be amazed how many projects you can find. They all need help. If you need more info. Please ask.
@@seanluby thank you. You are very encouraging. I may just look into it.
All of your videos are amazing!
I really appreciate the narrator doesn't make the channel about herself. So much better than most of the other channels on youtube.
Awesome job lady. Very interesting.
This was expertly produced. Music was 'expectant' and at a good pitch to hear the narration. Good to see that these old cold cases have not been forgotten.
Agreed! Especially your comment about the music.
Thank you so much for these videos. Very well done - concise, well narrated. Great job !
I enjoy your professional and personable approach also delivery of your subject matter. Your pleasant voice soothes the anguish from your topics and I thank you Youngling.
Not even a deathbed confession. What a coward.
Or not guilty.
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE WAY MORE SUBSCRIBERS!!!

She will go along way this lady.

I hate when they make “clay busts” of unidentified victims..they always look horrifying 😩
Lest you forget...the bust is constructed around the actual skull.
It takes a lot of Amazing, Patient and Artistic Skill to even become a Forensic Scientist like this...Art and Science together. The accuracy is often astounding and has solved many Cases! Case Closed! lol
I hope they fired that clay bust creator. That was horrible.
Sometimes they look “horrible “ on purpose. If someone has a big nose or high forehead or something they’ll exaggerate that feature. Supposedly helps those that knew the person, recognize the face.
@@enolastraight577 They make a plaster replica of the skull.
The guy Who killed the Two Girls gave his dna out of his own Will. He did not think about getting caught for the crime???
That's exactly what I thought! I scrolled the comments just to see if anyone else mentioned this case
Maybe he did not care if he got caught
Crooks aren't the brightest of people. They leave DNA at the crime scena, same as leaveing your drivers license.
Hack, in my area we had a guy arrested just yesterday for a string of armed robberies, fool didn't even wear a mask. They had security video of him on the news. Took the police about 2 hours to identify him after they got deluged with calls from people who knew the guy.
Brandon Piperjack the guy was charged with murder and rape.
It's wonderful that cold cases are now able to be solved. Killers will be looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives knowing they can be caught despite the passage of time.
very disturbing that in the first case the girls family did not report her missing!! what kind of family is THAT!!
Done very well, fantastic and case coverage Heavy Casefiles. The dignity and grace you present these tragic cases with gives these victims the long due humanity that was robbed from them.
Your channel is so interesting. I have rarely heard of these cases elsewhere and your voice and the music make a good counterpoint to the tragedy of these sadly shortened lives. Very well done.
brilliant narration. So Sad 😔 but interesting stories.. Thank God for DNA testing least it gives the authorities some hope of finding these dispicable rotten people and bringing them to Justice and closure for the victims familes.
May they rest in peace awaiting the resurrection hope... 🌷🌹🌷 🌹 🌷 🌷🌷

@@VioletJoy God created the scientists and blessed them with the talent, wisdom, and the will to bring this entire discovery about. I'm sure they are thanking God for working through them for their accomplishments.

Love your narration. I think the nature of many uploads require a pretty sensitive narrative, and yours is one of my faves! 😊 xx
Excellent video as always Heavy Casefiles👌. So glad to hear that some of these old cases are finally being solved 💝
Happy some closure has come to these people.
Awe! Both Clifford and Linda looked very beautiful. As individuals and as a couple. Bitter sweet outcome re their evil murderer but a little better than absolutely nothing at all.
Excellent video. The work you're doing is consistently impressive. Appreciate it.
Happy to see another video, happier to hear there are suspects now involved! Thank you!
Just ran across your channel and immediately subbed after watching the video. Great intricate tracing of these cold cases. It's always good to hear about the finding of person(s) responsible for cases that families have waited so long to get answers to their loved one's fate. Thank you for your hard work putting these videos together, great job!!
This is great narration. Extremely rare to find these days.
I finished binge watching all your vids last night and got sad lol perfect timing 😬
That was an astounding video. Your best one yet
AMAZING channel. VERY informative. Keep it up!!
The reconstruction of “Annie” looked nothing like the real girl. I guess those reconstructions are more art than science.
Some of them are very precise !
Great work as usual may The Most High bless you and your family 👑💯
There's a lot of controversy around whether or not it's ok for science to use dna to create sketches & look into family trees using genealogy for possible suspects in cases like these. But when they solve cold case murders it's hard to disagree with it.
the only reason to be against this technology is if you're hiding something in my opinion
@@h3llraiz3r_929 I can't figure out how to copy the link but check out reallygraceful on UA-cam, video's called "something's happening to our dna. She does great investigate work and what she found out is actually pretty frightening. Check it out, if anything it'll show u what's being done with what we are freely offering
Great episode as usual. Heavy Casefiles never disappoints...
I look forward to your videos-one of my favorite channels
Love your channel 👍👍👍 thankyou 💕💕
Great video! I love your channel!💜 Thank you for giving these poor souls one last chance at being remembered now that their cases have thankfully been solved so now they can finally rest. The last couple of years have been a blessing for families of these "cold cases" thanks to science! Unfairly, a lot of these murderers got to have freedom and long lives and didn't deserve that because of their heinous acts on innocent people.
Great job!! I look forward to each new video!
Thank you for new up -to - date info
Good job as always. Good research. Thanks
Excellent forensic and police investigation
Thank you for another great video!

How do I turn information in to ask for yall to check to see if yall can maybe figure out what happened to my ARMY Recruiter who was shot to death in his car in our small hometown and nothing , NOTHING was ever found. He was a great guy and wished had not already been in basic, never got a chance to help find his killer. Thank you from an old ARMY MP for all you do. Back then, we just didn’t have the capabilites that are readily available now. Amazing, just amazing 👍🏻 Again, thank you for all you do to provide closure for the families and friends of the deceased. ❤️🇺🇸❤️
Man, I love this channel! If I keep watching two every night, I'm gonna run out of them soon. Then what will I do?
Have a feeling you"ll be gaining many more Subs! Love all your videos
It’s very comforting to know that even after such a long time worrying and wondering what’s happened to your loved ones that through DNA there’s hope and now it’s tough for these lowlives who would perpetuate this type of thing would surly b shaking in their boots at the prospect of being caught this way cuz DNA doesn’t lie. Also, I find the narration of heavy casefiles very soothing, I could fall asleep listening to her talk, I don’t think it would matter about what cuz obviously these r not easy stories. Thanks for what you do.
Great job!
I listen to your vidoes while I get ready in the morning! :D
Her voice is very soothing.i love to relax and listen.ty
Thanks HC. Well done. A bit of....welcome news for once. Well we are getting more of that often now, which is awesome! Have a great weekend dear!🌹🎃
Thanks so much for these Oregon cold cases. It's amazing how many crimes went unsolved in the 60s through 80s.

How tragic. Poor Clifford and Lynda.

I may sound naive, but these cases demonstrate how our school, work or social acquaintances can be among the first to cause us harm. Trust no one.
