      To a degree, yes. But they knew he was asking them to lie for him for several years. It's good they didn't lie at the trial but they still covered for him for at least 4 years.

      @@MARLONdaman Because Washington state has had a moratorium on the death penalty since 2014 and was abolished in 2018, prior to the trial. Had he been convicted much closer to when he committed the crime he likely would have been executed.

      Actually Tim's mother did lie for him. While she refused to blame it on her deceased husband she had no qualms to state in court that her son was innocent and that Tim had never asked her to lie on his behalf.

    This story bothers me. The fact that it was so close to home, that the killer was essentially a stalker, and that he so ruthlessly tried to cover it up nearly 30 years after the fact is heartbreaking. That man was willing to frame his deceased father and his brother for his act of callousness. I hope he never sees the light of day again.

      It shouldn't have taken 28 or so years to get the killer's DNA. Weird guy who lived down the street from the victim, had made disturbing advances to other young girls, and had apparently refused to give DNA early on in the investigation, which should have been a major red flag.

Every single parent thinks their child is beautiful. Please don’t be so off-handed about any of these families or their murdered children. The LOL at the end doesn’t lighten up the comment. I remember when this girl went missing but I'd lost track of the story. I was unaware that her body had been recovered so I thought she was still missing. I live in the next county. All I knew about her was that she was. a pretty blond girl. I knew nothing about all of her accomplishments. I'm amazed to learn how talented she was. She was truly amazing.
    I was also unaware that someone had finally been caught and sent to prison for this. I'm glad I found this video and finally have the missing pieces of the puzzle. It's always disturbed me that this girl had just vanished into thin air. Seems so clear now that young men living on that road should have been the first suspects. I've done a little research and I've learned that she's buried in a little Catholic cemetery near her family home. I'm going to go find her grave and pay my respects. Thank you for posting this video.

    I see cases like this where a long time after the crime it turns out to be someone who lived nearby and who you would expect would be questioned by the police. This guy was apparently not questioned by the police at the time when there surely would have been a limited number of suspects in a quiet rural area like this. It would be pretty obvious that the killer was very likely a local person, this guy actually lived on the road she ran down and she passed by his house. Why would they not have spoken to him even if only to find out if he saw something that day and to establish an alibi which is a lot easier to verify a day or 2 instead of 30 years later. It is evidence that was collected illegally. If they truly thought it was his, why didn't they get his brother's (proper use of apostrophe) DNA and then show that the killer was a male sibling? It's a pretty strait forward jump from there to a warrant to get Timothy's DNA. Keystone cops in an authoritarian state that doesn't care if it collects evidence illegally!

    • @MattyClivingthedream
      @MattyClivingthedream 4 роки тому +6

      @Vincent Cuttolo I call BS on you being stalked and the only person who doesn't get it is you. In other circumstances it maybe it is innocent, but the evidence in this case is clear. His behaviour is compulsive and his intention to harm is clear (remember the bit about him murdering her). The person doesn't need to know that they are being stalked to be classified as stalking.

    • @MattyClivingthedream
      @MattyClivingthedream 4 роки тому +6

      @Vincent Cuttolo You are mistaking a legal definition with the true definition. In this case the person did stalk the victim. The victim is dead due to his stalking. Or are you saying that he just came across the victim and it was an impulsive act. It clearly wasn't impulsive as he had been following the victim around.
      As for your rant, it just proves to me that you were not a victim of anything and you clearly have no idea.
