He had sex in an abandoned van with a 16 year old, then let her walk 7 miles home? WTH that man should be in jail as well. A 31 year old married man, now thinks he can hold his head high?
Sure……you’re a real stand up guy. Kappen was just worse.

@@ElysV135 Well, Im European, and while not technically illegal it is still to this day something, that is frowned upon, that a 31y old man has a 16y old gf, let alone a married 31y old man.
And my takeaway, regardless of his age and marital status, even had he been 16 too, was "gee, what a gentleman". And in case u missed it, that was very heavy sarcasm. Just f*ck her and send her on her way on foot for 7 miles in the darkness? What a total PoS!
I agree with the other poster, if all, u took from that, was the age of consent, u really need to get ur priorities straight.

Hopelessly illogical nonsense. Of course people sometimes find mannequins. It's just that no one makes UA-cam videos about it when they do.

To be honest good detective work at the time could have solved this. He fitted the description, had a history of violence and included domestic violence; and drove the same car . They missed the ball on this . I’m pleased it’s finally solved but he escaped justice. His wife could also have told the truth ( and yes I know that’s hard- as a victim of domestic violence as a child and as an adult)

I know the families want the monsters to suffer, but as long as it's taken for some cases to be solved, it's not entirely a surprise if they're already dead. I think it's even more wonderful when the loved ones, especially the parents, actually live to get their answers. And to know at least, that the monster is meeting his punishment. He can't hurt anyone anymore. 🙏🏼💔🕊️😓

I know it was a different time, but I just couldn't help thinking... why didn't the parents pick them up? Can you imagine your 16 year old daughter walking 5 miles home after midnight? My parents wouldn't have cared, but most parents would rather be a little annoyed and have their child safe and alive.

There are a number of reasons why young people wouldn't have called their parents then. They had no car, run out of change for a phone booth, didn't want them to know to which extent they partied, it may have been uncool to get picked up by them (I think that was more the case when kids were more independent), too late at night, low crime areas. That's what I take from family who were teens before the eighties.

My heart breaks for the families of all of these passionate, vibrant, loving and caring girls whose lives had just begun. Though I take away solace and gratitude that the parents of all three of these lovely girls lived to see who the brutal and barbaric monster who stole the futures that these girls still had not been written. May they now live with a little more peace and joy these last 13 years. Bravo to those who all worked hard and tirelessly for the years of never losing sight nor pushing away the importance of identifying and bringing the Saturday Night Killer out into from the shadows and sharing the brutality of this monster to light.

And nowadays 21, in the states, to get into most unless it’s an underage club, meaning 18 and over. If I recall at the 18+clubs, always inferior to the 21 +, you have to get IDed at the bar and wear a bracelet, unless that’s been stopped too as that was in the late 90s.
