The rape of a child by an adult is horrific. The physical trauma caused is basically a ripping apart of her body. I unfortunately listened to a child rape case that revealed the physical trauma caused. Made me sick. Child rape should be punished with the death penalty because of the level of cruelty is causes physically not to mention mentally if the child survives.

You are absolutely right. Little girls are ripped apart and grown women are torn and heavily bruised. That's violence! A nurse I used to know told me that a man had raped a six-year-old little girl. When found, she was rushed to the hospital into surgery. Poor baby's insides were coming out due to the brutality of the rape. Several doctors and nurses worked on her but were unable to save her life. The nurse said that all of the doctors and nurses were crying. This act upon that child was beyond evil. I will never understand why any man thinks it's a good idea to use his body as a weapon (or deadly weapon, in this case) against a female of any age. That's evil; that's hatred and is worthy of the death penalty.

I know it seems like a short amount of time - in these stories - because we're just listening and hearing 50 years - but that is longer then I've been on this earth. I could not even begin to imagine what her family went through, both before and after finding out what happened to her. I'm so happy to know about cases like this that are not tossed away as "unsolvable" but shelved and re-examined time and time again. Most don't get solved, I know - but it does my heart good to know that some do. Here, we have no statute of limitations on murder, and murderers should be looking over their shoulders their entire lives.
Thank you for telling the story without the clip art or stock images. Just clear and to the point. I find other channels with so much of that clip art or stock images is distracting and unnecessary.

I'm one year older than Debbie and never had to do adult jobs like the laundry, but all of our neighborhood children ran freely all over! We left at daybreak and returned at dark. No one feared for their kids safety, except to warn us to watch the traffic on the streets or crossing highways. By the time my son was born in early 80's, whole different scene! He was never allowed that freedom as a child. The innocence (or ignorance) of the 60's and 70's had disappeared. I am so sorry that Debbie suffered and was not allowed to grow up and live a full life.

There are two cases (cold) in/near Richmond, VA. I remember them from my childhood. 1) in 1967,68, 69 (I can't remember), a girl of about 5 was taken from her home in Sandston, VA. Her raped and sodomized body was found with sticks and twigs in orifi. She was found nude and in a ditch on the grounds of the Richmond Airport. I do not believe they ever found the killer. I would like to know for sure. I was about the same age and where I had been free to bike and play with friends, my parents forebade me to go outside without them after this event. The other case 2) is a girl named Christine Wright of Dinwiddie, VA. She was taken out of her home when the perpetrator got into her home through the locked sliding glass door, in the middle of the night, from her bed, while her parents slept nearby. Her body was found months later in a swamp. This was around 1972 and again, the neighborhood was horrified and scared to death that the perpetrator was still at large. Is there any way you can find out about these cases?

As the Lead Genealogist on this case, I just wanted to note a few things. DNA Labs International had been involved in the case before 2023 and we were the lab which created the genealogy profile for comparison (autosomal SNP DNA). More importantly, this genealogy profile was created using the newest technology available called Kintelligence. It is because of this new technology that a viable profile could be created for comparison in the available genealogy databases. It's just a matter of time before everyone starts to hear more and more about Kintelligence as it is going to allow more viable DNA profiles to be created where typical SNP array testing and WGS testing fail due to low amounts of DNA and high degradation.

There has to be some inner demon that compels them to do so, which doesn’t stop until they’re caught or dead. Debbie’s brother Melvin sounds like a wise and compassionate person. I am glad that at least he lived to learn who did this to his family. May Debbie and her parents now be resting in peace. 💙🙏

I hate parents who treat their children so harshly that you can't tell if it's kidnapping or not. I've seen many people rip screaming and kicking children away from something or push them into cars so violently that I genuinely didn't know if I should call the police or not. I always write down the license plates and try taking a picture whenever I witness something like that just in case. I often want to ask these people if they know that they treat their own children the way a kidnapper would treat them. I don’t blame that little girl who witnessed the abduction for not calling the police immediately, she's probably been treated the exact same was by her parents so she didn't think it was wrong.

I assume that there remain, for example, unsolved murders from the 1920s and 1930s, but all parties (perpetrator, witnesses) would be long deceased, so solving the case would now be a purely academic exercise and a waste of scarce police resources.
