I hope you get everything planned out of the Subaru, they are a great car if you are prepared to be watchful over it and keep it well maintained. We have used their engines in auto gyros and, when you are in the middle of nowhere in Australia and wringing the guts out of the motor in 45 degree temperatures, hanging off the propellor, the reliability is something that you can really count on.
One of my golf buddys hired a legacy turbo estate on holiday in new zealand . Although in his early 60's the Escort rally boy racer came quickly back and the 8 mile round trip to the shops , on roads he described as crushed flat maltesers, was the highlight of the holiday . Not the white water rafting or the bungee jumping 😂
Engine sounds great pal, you must be feeling great knowing you've done such a good job with the rebuild, and i bet you're really excited now to get in and start driving, its a pretty smart looking car for an estate, and will be a great addition to both channels.
She sounds Lovley mate. Wait until you see hear her in person. Will be taking it back in tomorrow to have a look underneath and make sure we are all good. Fingers crossed 🤞
Bloody Subarus! I know they make great engines but, they always sound like they've got a miss on one cylinder to me. Glad it's all coming together for you. You built the engine and from my own experience I know how much that extra care and degrees of precision and attention to detail can make. All the best for a long and happy relationship with her.
I brought a Toyota Camry with a blown head gasket. I disassembled the engine and took the parts to my machine shop. I did have to buy one new head on the V6 but the lower block was in fine shape. The machinist called me and told me that I had to replace one head at about $700.00 US but it would be well worth it because this one year halfway, Toyota had put a Lexus engine in to have higher horsepower than the top Nissan Maxima. This was only done for 6 months until Toyota came out with a different version that wasn't as powerful nor as reliable. That car is still on the road 50,000 plus miles later and as far as a factory car, it's very strong and fast. I got lucky without even knowing what I had at first. It was money well spent.
Don't panic about the transmission judder either. I've corrected the same issue on those models by draining and redilling the transmission. As lond as the shift points are correct, and the car starts off without slipping, the new fluid may be the cure. All I've done is drain and refill, have the customer drive 100 miles or so, and repeat.
Well done Issac Sounds great and you have a rare beast there Glad it didn’t go boom 😅 You will definitely enjoy it with peace of mind knowing you rebuilt the engine now
A valuable life lesson for you. Don't make timeline predictions unless you know they're going to happen. Yes you're impatient however telling your audience time after time "next weekend" won't make things happen any quicker than they will especially where there are unknowns in the equation. Your boss will always say e.g. "We'll be getting on with this as soon as the parts arrive." because he knows that there are always circumstances beyond his control. Finally just an observation. You're always much more relaxed on the main channel. Take a look for yourself. Relax and enjoy it.

Sensible to not rush collecting the Subaru is still an unknown quantity so best let an expert find the niggly faults first especially if the car has not been looked after. Definitely leave the car as standard as possible and not waste money modding it, it’s impressive as it is for those who know…. Also tip for video presentation… give a clarification at the start about the car and any businesses etc. you are talking about, don’t assume everyone knows about “the Subaru”, “Chris”, “the injectors”….. you need to bring new viewers up to speed on the story so it’s not just random….

The engine sounds very sweet Isaac. No rattles bangs or clanks. Your rebuild must have been pretty damned good! Congratulations!

Excellent to hear mate, when you pick it up give her some beans, to bed the rings in. your so lucky having a Aga or Rayburn,
It’s a Rayburn, been in the same place for 70 odd years, it’s bloody lovely. Although did get a bit warm whilst I was filming today 😂😂
@@BarumExtra So jealous mate.
let me know when you get her home, I will bring the EVO up for you to have a drive mate.
I'm guessing Lee would like to take her out as well.

As many "so" s as RePerformance channel. Good luck with your new venture
I`ve got an old Impresa alternator coming for repair soon. Never done one before so looking forward to it.

Very nice! Me and my son have 2 of them (!) Got one for sale ATM, need to scale down the fleet.

Great news, nearly got it 👍👍
Sounds great buddy
Good on you.
Engine sounds sweeet ….!
That sounds really nice
Great Stuff 😃
Sounds like Chris wants to keeping that car lol
Excellent.
NVL (Not via London) train tickets are cheaper.
Enjoy your car when you get it.
Well done you. Just don't get smug--many times it comes back for you. 😖
Did you use the old injectors or buy new in the end?
Managed to get them tested, they all came back good so I was able to use them!
So you not only got the car you wanted but also a collector’s car.
As an old Subaru driver, I will suggest that you may actually want to keep this one yourself. You could do worse, grin.
Sounds like a drowning vw beetle
Sounds like it needs a drive belt !!
It’s had belts!
It may not be the alternator....
Any other ideas?

@jasonarnold7578 good to know… so what was the fix?
@@BarumExtra replacement of the bulbs in the instrument cluster. The alternator was fine even though it had done 574,000KM.
