That's not a lie Isaac. That's a reality check after the fact & we all need to shut down every now and then so we don't completely break down. The videos will come when they come & we'll be here for you. Keep up the great work and learning from Lee & John. I've noticed your growth over the years & look forward to the future.
1st of I wouldn't say you lied , 2ndly your only a young lad of course your going to be excited to get the car back , and you won't have much patience, but most people understand that we have all been young before , so stop worrying. Good luck with it all 👍
Hey bud,you didn't lie, things change on a daily basis,I've given up making plans a long time ago, what will be will be. You're certainly very patient waiting for your scooby to be done, when I was your age,I'd have been climbing the walls a long time ago. Stay chilled dude, all will come good soon.😎😎👍👍
Make sure that the battery and the main power supply is correct I have had this problem before and it turned out to be low voltage to the computer ecu! But it diagnosed as crank and cam angle sensor It also switched sides aswell Good luck
I'm pretty sure that the guy who is doing it must have either charged or at least checked the battery voltage. Most older cars with ecu's are fairly compliant with slightly down voltages I've found, however if it's a Land Rover especially a L322 Range Rover they are a bitch for low voltage problems.
Check the block connectors that join the engine loom to the main loom. The pins oxidize and snap/short out. Had it on the impreza after having the engine out. May not be that but a good place to start. Also, hopefully Duncan will be back (he's been under the weather) on his channel q&a tomorrow evening, so get on amd ask away.
Make sure that engine has genuine senors, because there all share the same 5volt reference, supply, and it does bugger the data at the ecu, also wiring under the inlet manifold, good look, remember no none genuine sensors.
We have a Macintosh in our imported Leggy. They were decent units. The speaker foam can disintegrate. This could be the issue with the sound, so even if you change the head unit, you still have crap sound. You can swap out for new speakers. There are about 8 or 10 dotted around the car. You don't have to replace all of them, just disconnect the ones you don't want. Our one talks in Japanese, but only to greet you, which is quite cool tbh. It also plays DVD's to the screen & has a CD stacker in the boot & a remote control. For 2004, a pretty good spec.
Only thing I could add is the frequency scale for the tuner may be off a few clicks. I know there's a difference between Euro and North America spec, so makes a digital tuner a potential bish. And not considering it a falsehood, mate, but you do deserve some re-charge time to keep your physical and mental health on track.
Great video, one thing please don't waste your time at halfords for car audio they tend to be expensive, lower quality and I'm yet to find any store that has any reasonable knowledge of car audio, sadly decent aftermarket car audio seems to being a dying trade however there are a few places online that can provide all you'll need, personally I'd be inclined to use places like car audio direct or car audio security, these have been around for years and are still going strong. With regards of the electrical issues on the legacy sadly fault finding can be a real nightmare and being a JDM version doesn't help but hopefully you'll get to the bottom of it as I like many others are dying to see it in the flesh
That’s not lying, that’s just life. As for wiring issues on Subaru’s, they are the same as any other manufacturer. Most problems with wiring are bad earths, they are exposed to the elements so corrosion can be a problem. Also slightly loosened anchor points and loose crimps come into play.
Diagnosing electrical problems is a bitch, an expensive bitch too at that. To fix that requires experience, a very good scan tool, and a scope. I hope you can find the problem quickly. Usually, the problem is a result of corrosion.
Some Subarus have a brace behind the dash that prevents the installation of aftermarket head units, Depending upon the year of your Subaru, try this unit: GRUNDIG GX-3800 Apple Carplay / Android Auto / Android Mirror / Bluetooth / USB.
No worries. Sometimes you just have to set the to-do list aside and take a day to recharge. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you don't take a day once in a while.
You didn't lie, you had a change of plan. Soeak to your boss about getting some on the job training with someone who knows what they're doing and are willing to do it. I know this is difficult with such a small workforce but usually there are dead spots sometime during the year.
Shouldn't worry. I got bike projects in the garage I am supposed to be finishing, but some days I just don't wanna! It's not work,so I don't have to, and I want to enjoy it. But modern electronics. Horrid stuff. I can sort issues with a multimeter but this shit needs a laptop!
Just say you got drunk then we would all understand. :) Update on the Subaru WR1 alternator I`m fixing. Was not charging enough to run the car properly but when I bench tested it, it kicks out 14.2 volts. Waiting for an Oscilloscope to test the 3 phases are working.
Where is your scooby ? Sounds like this Chris is stringing you along, constantly finding faults, emptying your wallet, get the trailer,go collect it and source it out locally,at least you know that you can keep an eye on it ?
If you need anything from Japan, ping a message to another UA-camr, Sarah n tuned, she’s switched on and regularly gets rare parts from Japan. And a good watch too
We all have days when ‘we cant be bothered” the will is there but the body says, forget it!
Thanks for the update Issac,.Chin up the Subaru will work out fine.👍👍

Issac if it's ecu are companies out there send it off to they look it over for you make sure everything is ok good luck mate 👍
Hey Isaacs, everyone is entitled to an off day now and then. No worries buddy.

Battery and alternator both brand new 👌🏼
@@BarumExtra i understand that but check the voltage when cranking at the ecu supply
I have had the same issue and it was the problem
Keep the faith issac. It's all part of the learning curve.

I fitted a radio blank. Love the exhaust noise :}
Glad you got your car back man happy for you. Look forward to the update on your car after your announcement on other channel
I had a 2004 sti prodrive car and boy she was hard on fuel and back then super unleaded was hard to find

Have all the earth straps been refitted to the Subaru?

Can you post the part # of the ECU? In New Zealand JDM imports are much more common. Might be cheaper....

I have a Subaru Select Monitor. You can have it if you sort out shipping and a nice beer ;)
If you don’t mind! What beer is your preference?! Shoot me an email IsaacBarum@gmail.com
Thanks Steven!!
If it is the ecu there are companies out there that maybe can fault find and repair
It is, what it is. Some things, best to observe and wait. After all this, a MGB not looking too bad?

You want to talk to Alex Carter in Swindon..

Sounds like an pcm driver failure unfortunately. Whenever you are chasing codes all around, it’s either a ground issue or the computer
Too much electronics on modern cars these days.
Where is your scooby ? Sounds like this Chris is stringing you along, constantly finding faults, emptying your wallet, get the trailer,go collect it and source it out locally,at least you know that you can keep an eye on it ?
if i was you feller i would give up on beemers and subarus and get a real performance car like a honda type r or a yaris gr.
Hardly a lie, not even close, we will let you know when your lying.
If you need anything from Japan, ping a message to another UA-camr, Sarah n tuned, she’s switched on and regularly gets rare parts from Japan. And a good watch too
Thank you, I’ll keep them in mind!
Mighty car mods import a lot of parts and cars from Japan, they can probably get you connected to suppliers and breakers for parts.
Watched mighty car mods for years! I might try and reach out!
Or Al that used to be on The skids factory he's a Subaru lad from way back
Sounds like you've got yourself a shitter of a money pit sell it and cut your losses.its a legacy and an auto🤮🤮
