Another great update. All of this takes time. Patience is a highly rated virtue. It can be painful and, at times, a pain in the ass. I'm looking forward to you enjoying your prize. I am also looking forward to future content with your new adventures in motorsports. BTW. Let me know if you need another order of the jumbo bin bags. It has been a minute since I sent you some. I can look up the last order date. Probably 5-6 months ago. Also can you let me know if the Barum/Lamborghini orange "Dramm" hose nozzle made it to you. Take care Isaac. Be good. Remain safe. Matt
Damn! The waiting would be hard to bear but, now more money too. You'll get there and if your anything like me, you'll grow to feel like the car is a part of you, as long as it doesn't give you too much more troubles.
Nothing wrong with Subarus reliability. Issues come from modifying for more power wit stock engine parts. Fuel pumps and alternators can go on any car at anytime. Might have a bad load of fuel. It should be good when it’s all sorted.
Hi Isaac don't lose faith in yourself cause Iv'e got faith in you , after doing a total Rebuild Don't take short cut's with the final details , Keep a cool head and it will work for you , No 1 make sure of correct Oil pressure , no oil leaks , and cooling system is working properly , hopefully you have got the fuel system problem sorted , Drive carefully and enjoy
Oh....as far as reliability issues of used vehicles..... I have owned a 1972 Chevrolet G20 van since new. I have freshened up the motor 3 times. It still has the original bottom end. I have replaced the starter twice. The transmission has been rebuilt once. I am about to start a total restoration. It was my Christmas present to me in 1972. December 27th. I used it as my race van for over 2 decades. It is still in use for my restoration business. Over 675,000 miles. Keep up with the maintenance.
Sorry to hear of these issues. Old Subarus are not getting any younger and somethings need replacing. Once it you have it sorted out you'll have a smile as wide as the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Hanging there mate.
A syringe, a little length of hose and a can of carb cleaner. Bit of time and patience and injectors will be as clean as a whistle from a dribble down their chin too a nice fine mist. Oh and a bit wire, a switch and a 12v power source you need. Great vid Issac.
Issac you are amazingly patient for such a young man, your vlogs are excellent and so interesting, you are going to be one hell of an engineer and engine builder
Isac need to look at live readings. Hook up to 4 gas analyser an then do the mats.fair play to lads in shop. And time will pervale. It will be when ready .👍
make sure the injectors are the correct impedence for the ECU or it wont work right....i would find some Subaru injectors for the car because the map WILL have to be adapted to different flow injectors, as well.
Thanks for your comment, although they are (traditionally) a Nissan part, these injectors came off this engine and are actually meant to be on it! They were used from factory on the EJ20X!
Well, we've had no less than 8 Subaru cars over the years. Nothing but wear & tear to fix, and being in a rust belt, that does indeed happen.I hope you have equal luck.
Issac, as you are wrecking the office area, why not use one of the old desks or benches for your home workshop? Just a suggestion as long as they are man enough for the job!
I`ve got a Subaru Impreza WR1 alternator to repair. It was charging a little but not a lot. I`m suspecting a diode open circuit so it`s only charging on 2 phases. Customer reports car running rough so low voltage is not going to help. Perhaps something needs resetting after a problem.
I hope you'll get your Subie sorted out. I wonder about your juddering issue. If your engine runs fine at full power, the fuel pump must be OK. So I'd be looking for something else. Could it be that your uprated injectors are delivering too much fuel at low loads and revs? Just a thought.
I've got a 6 speed manual that works perfectly. New MOT. Puts out over 300 on the dyno. Car play, stainless straight thru, rear end re bushed. Loads more. £6.5K 😎Just saying.
From experience I would say Subaru Engines and cars are very reliable. Having Beaten the shit out of so many plus my own RCM WRX. I did spin a bearing though. DOH! My Friends Subaru did the same and he has just kept driving it lol. Clearly hear its knackered but it just keeps going. Been about 4 years now lol. How they won the Rallies. They could finish them. Look under a good STI and all the forged aluminium subframes and suspension. For a 90's car that's mental!!!
Who's doing the work on the Subaru? Could the issue not be diagnosed properly rather than playing parts roulette? Seems like a lot of maybe this, maybe that! Good idea to specialise in something alongside your day to day work, if you get known in the Subaru community it gives you a possible career path!
This isn't Subaru, this is what happens when you buy a broken car and leave it off the road for half a year. Bits break from standing still after being on their last legs. The slightest bit of corrosion on the worn contacts makes them fail. Don't be surprised if some more bits will fail in the near future because of the same.
So an aged fuel pump and a Alternator means a brand of car is unreliable? That includes 100% of all cars then. I understand your disappointed I would be too. Good luck with the Scooby.
I don’t think they’re unreliable, just playing off what many people seem to say in the comments! I totally agree anyway, been sat for 8 months, and on the road for 21years! It’s done very well for that amount of time
Say Roger Clark Motorsport again. Little bit of wee came out again lol. The VW 'Van' crew are cool. Just be a bit careful and get to know the customer well. Some are rather mental. Been there. Was not fun!
I converted a good few VW sheds with Subaru engines. The wiring was such a mission but I did it! Was 15 years ago so not much on forums on interweb etc. I loved it!!!
Isaac are trying to give Subaru's a bad rep? They are like any other car on the road, if you maintain them properly they will give you good service. I've had three so far and the only on to give me trouble was the first, an "80" FWD stick shift, the trans went out in it. Got it fixed and it went on perk'n along until wife decided she wanted a new car, so it got traded in on something, can't remember what. The next one was a 2021 and the third, current, is a 2023, neither of which gave or has given any trouble. My wife is the driver, she colluded with my doctor to keep me from renewing my license so I don't drive anymore, bummer. She has the oil changed and has it inspected regularly, and has done so she took over the chauff's duties, a very smart lady she is.
Seems that the issue isn't "Subaru Reliability" but rather the mechanic who isn't checking things like the alternator and such. Easy check to make, no excuse for mot making sure. The "Reliability" Issue is the guy who is putting the engine in the car and doing the final stuff before delivery. Fail
It's not an issue of Subaru reliability the issue is who your having doing the work or at least how you explained it. Kinda ao8nds like you need a new mechanic
Why? He’s doing a great job. The car has sat for a long time, so it’s hard to tell what’s going to need replacing and what isn’t. He’s put lots of hours in to it & made sure to test drive the car at every opportunity to ensure the car is going to get me home when I collect
@BarumBTS because a mechanic with honest intention and ability would NOT just throw parts at a car without proper diagnosis. Also a proper mechanic weather it's on a normal street every day vehicle or performance import would sort the car out 100% before calling the owner up to say its ready then not have it ready. Now it could be just the way your explained it but as a mechanic and a fabricator myself along with normal day to day mechanic stuff I also due performance and race car stuff and I would never let a client think his vehicle is ready before it's not I would also 100% go over a car such as yours inspecting everything get a full list and options for repair then call the client to get the OK then do all the service work then put the finished car threw it's paces then once and only once the car is fully done would I have the client come get it. Subaru are touchy yes but they are very very simple to get right period. No matter what the model is.
You need to stop apologising for something out of your control, even as you get older you don't really get use to the disheartened feeling when a plan doesn't come together. But it will come together soon enough 🙏 take it easy look after yourself.
Think you’re probably right! I’m just hoping the Fuel pump is the last of it for now. We also replaced battery, a few boost pipes, air con recharge and some other general bits and pieces!
@@BarumExtra My legacy was sat up for a couple years whilst I had the engine /box out (EZ30 needing timing chain, seals etc) and when it came back to getting it back on the road there were quite a few niggles and teething problems (still are!). The bonus is these cars are generally pretty easy to work on and not overly complex!
Another great update. All of this takes time. Patience is a highly rated virtue. It can be painful and, at times, a pain in the ass.

As long as your problem isn't in the gear box with it being auto. Hopefully you will get it soon and get to enjoy it.
Stay patient Isaac, good things come to those who wait. Good luck with it. 👍

Feel your pain mate but you will get that grin factor very soon, just be patient it will all come good. God that workspace needs a ceiling fitted🤥🤥
Great video Issac , looking forward to the next one

Thanks for the update mate. Keep pushing and you get through

No reliability problems my old 92 model has done 440000k and still going like a charm
Don’t be upset Issac …this is what life is all about ….just hang on in there it ll be ok !!!
Definitely picking the car up at the weekend. Just not sure WHICH weekend!
Exactly 😂🤦♂️
Chin up Issac. It will happen!!
Such is life with older toys. By the time you're done catching up with deferred maintaince it'll be brand new and hopefully reliable.
We have had Subarus for years without issues. Solid reliable rally capable vehicles🇳🇿
great update !
I don't think it is a Suburu unreliability thing, more a component issue. Fuel pumps can fail on any car.
Great update thanks
Could the juddering be down to the aftermarket injectors not being set up right in the ECU dead timing ect.
Better to wait til it's 100% fixed instead of having to take it to a shop again right away.
Fingers crossed the fuel pump fixes it - I'll be watching with interest as my DIL's car ( 09 Impreza R ) has a hesitation issue too.
Better now than later for this to happen.
Isac need to look at live readings.

Are you sure the juddering isn't the torque converter? I've had two cars like that. Usually find it does it at peak torque in lower gears
I've got a 6 speed manual that works perfectly. New MOT. Puts out over 300 on the dyno. Car play, stainless straight thru, rear end re bushed. Loads more. £6.5K 😎Just saying.
My Forester is on 193000 miles still on its original pump and alternator from new never skipped a beat.

Like the BTS channel, Isaac. Keep looking up ;-)
older motors will always need some sort of TLC

Isaac, stuff fails. It gets old and wears out. Even new cars have issues! With luck, you'll have it to drive soon.
"Subaru reliability" 😂
Have you not heard of "chocolate pistons" ?!
Hoping Mahle changed the recipe for the forged ones I’ve gone for 😉
Have you not scanned the car rather than buying these parts
Sounds suspiciously like a software issue to me. maybe some narna has re-mapped it in the past?
Get the gearbox serviced !
Fuel pump is prob half the reason it blew up in the first place
Very well could be!

When you get the car back , we can do a video together if you want mate ?
Sounds like a plan lee 👌🏼 would be great to show these guys your Evo!
😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍

My second hand Subaru broke a timing belt after only 30,000 miles, the auto gearbox went a few thousand miles later, it was not an old car
OOOO..... I think that is against health and safety to be working in a workshop on ya own . Well thats what our company says !! rgds Don
The subaru will come good in the end

Should have converted it to manual while the engine was out . Auto sucks
mate the engine is crap ....alfa with the sud made a awesome flat4 ...accusump it will help
Car has probably been poorly maintained and been sat for a long period. No car's like being treated like this.

You can’t make a shop Subaru crank to balance flywheels because every clutch kit will be balanced to a rotating assembly that will never be in a car 😢
