George Michael was an amazingly brilliant singer!!!! First started out in Wham!, then went solo and has so many hits.... Faith, Freedom, etc........... He left this world too early!!!!
Freddie Mercury tough shoes to fill, indeed. But if anyone was going to do it in this tribute it was George Michael. Absolute legend. Nearly every song on the Faith album is spectacular. "Freedom 90" is one of the greatest songs of all time. Love him.
Have a great deal of respect for George Michael Amazing singer but he still took this seriously and putvin a lot of peactise to get it right and show Freddie respect
When it comes to live performances, George Michael is your man. Whether rocky and energetic like this song, or quiet, soulful, bluesy…George was one of the best live.
George had some alright songs but he isn't the only one that can hold a candle to Freddy Mercury. Because he didn't do the up an down part like Freddy did but Jeff Scott Soto can . check this out its much better .ua-cam.com/video/ERhdG5shWWY/v-deo.html
I always thought the same thing and hoped that he would stand in if Queen would have went out on one last tour. Then this tribute came out and I just said "Yes, there! Do you see?!" And also.. I never seen my father cry as much in my whole life than when he saw George Michael do this.
George is one of the best male vocalist of all time. He is no joke as you can see here. I have seen many of his live performance and never a bad note, not ever. He was an absolute legend.
Thanks for your great reaction! Who was George Michael? George Michael was a legend who composed his music, wrote the lyrics, played instruments, and arranged and produced his albums. His gorgeous vocals are out-of-this world: beautiful tone, perfect pitch and breath control, soulful interpretation. Many people are aware of only the “Faith” album. But please go on to listen to his other albums: “Listen Without Prejudice “, “Older”, “Patience”. He has so many different sounds: Kissing a Fool, Fast Love, A Different Corner, Father Figure, Spinning the Wheel, You Know That I Want To, Praying for Time, Older, Jesus to a Child, Cowboys and Angels, Waiting for That Day, Moment With You, Faith, Freedom 90 ( you should listen to Faith first and then Freedom 90 to understand the evolution). Of course, Careless Whisper and Last Christmas. And so many, many more. There’s his Wham! days and his solo career. There are his duets-“As” with Mary J Blige has been mentioned. I have not seen anyone react to his beautiful duet This Is Not Real Love with Mutya Buena. And he was a king of covers, for example I Can’t Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt cover), Tonight (Elton John cover), They Won’t Go When I Go (Stevie Wonder cover) to name a few. He was incomparable when singing live-listen to his MTV Unplugged sessions. George was a humanitarian who gave so much anonymously. Only after his death was the extent of his giving known. One example was he gave all proceeds from his song Jesus to a Child to a children’s charity. He was a kind, generous, supremely talented man who had his troubles, and always had integrity. Listen to some of his interviews. Anyway I guess you can tell I’m a fan. 🙂
George was HUGE! One of the true megastars of the 80s and 90s. Right up there with Michael Jackson, Madonna and Prince. He had so many hits it's ridiculous and unlike most single orientated artists, his albums were incredible too! His songwriting talent was out of this World, as was his vocal talent. He also arranged and produced all of his own material and played a load of the instruments himself too! An absurdly talented man. He's sorely missed... Initially he was in a massively successful duo called Wham. Though Wham was really just a vehicle for George's talent but he dragged his best friend along for the ride. He eventually went solo and was even more successful. He had something like 6 US number 1 singles from his first 2 solo albums alone and his success was worldwide. He won endless awards, including Grammys and Brits. All of his albums are great but, for me, his masterpiece is 'Listen Without Prejudice'. It was his 2nd solo album and his songwriting just hit another level. He was one of those artists that sounded even better live, so consider checking out some live performances. If you only check out one album of his, check out 'Listen Without Prejudice'. It's genuinely one of the greatest albums ever made! :)
Watched this live on TV, and waited all day just for George to come on! I heard him in an interview once, and he said it was his best live performance of his career.
Idk if anyone has already commented this, probably has but oh well, but just in case... Brian May said that George Michael was the only person that could have sang that song in honor of Freddie. He was even blown away by the similar qualities they have in their voice and that he was the perfect fit to sing that song. And George is one of the best vocalists of the past 40 years. I've watched countless performances of him and the man literally never sounded off. He has to have some of the most perfect pitch I've ever heard in live singers. He's amazing
George Michael - one of the best live vocalists, but also a prolific songwriter and an awesome human being. Fun fact - Axl Rose (of Guns n Roses) absolutely fan-boyed over George's album Faith, citing it is a major musical influence. Check out the live duet with Elton John - Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me. Or anything from his MTV Unplugged performance.
I was there...it was the most incredible day with music greats throughout the day. This song blew the audience away. Still can't quite believe I was there!
George Michael is one of the best British singer/songwriter/performers of the past 40 years, his Faith album has some fantastic songs on it, really worth checking that album and the rest of his back catalogue out.
RiP George Michael, greatly missed - undoubtedly one of the best vocalists, lyricists, live performers, and artists of our era. Luckily you have a 30 year back catalogue you can work through. The guy was a genius and terribly underrated because he made it look so effortless imo. Wrote, produced and played most of the instruments on his solo works. Has a tone and clarity to his vocals that is unmatched. Please, react to more George, Praying for Time, Jesus to a Child, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
I remember reading a comment from Brian May. Saying that he was spooked a few times at how crisp George Michael's voice is coming through the monitors. Just like Freddie Mercury.
I'm a metal guy. You know. We met at Iron Maiden. But George Michael I can listen to. He has a great voice and has some great songs. Also has a tragic life story at the end. But he was a huge huge star.
This was Freddy's favorite Queen song from all, I think... Even over Bohemian Rhapsody, and this is the best cover of a Queen song of all times. Rip Freddy rip George Michael. Ever time I listen to this and see the band and the crowd and George, I cry in happiness and sadness
George Michael was one of the best vocalists of our time. I'm so glad you did this song...great song and he nailed it. Now....you really need to check out George Michael and Elton John singing Don't Let the Sun Come Down on Me . . You'll really like that one. RIP GEORGE AND FREDDIE
Alright brother. George Michael was with a group called 'Wham' in the 80's, then he had a pretty good solo career. Heck of a voice on him. At some point in your life, you have likely heard 'Careless Whisper.' "I'm never gunna dance again. Guilty feet have got no rhythm." Give him a listen some time. Totally not metal, but you might like it. Have a great day Alex and all. Love yall.
Alex you should check out George Michael and Elton John in the live performance of Don't let the sun go down on me. Its originally Elton's song. It's really awesome. RIP Freddy. RIP George.
George Michael was a legend. A true gentleman taken before his time. Please do look into his career and life; such a great artist but also an amazing human being.
George Michael started.off as one of the two members of Wham! and then had a very successful solo career. He was responsible for some of the most memorable songs and the Freedom 90 video is legendary.
George was the only singer I've ever heard match Freddie's range - I would have loved so damn much if he'd gone on tour with Queen rather than anyone else barring Freddie himself. Only George could do him and the songs real justice. RIP George - you did Freddie proud that day ❤❤😢
Queen - Live Aid, 1985 (Full Performance) One of the greatest live shows of all time, trust us watch it 🤘🏼 if you want the ultimate Goosebumbs Experience
This was the very BEST song to introduce you to George. One of the greatest voices of our time. RIP to an incredible artist. You MUST check out Careless Whisper, One More Try (video), and Praying for time. Also his duet with Elton John - Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me. Cheers from Canada :)
Alex Hefner. George definitely filled Freddie’s shoes brilliantly😎♥️. George Michael was a part of duo Wham in the 80’s. He had a golden voice for sure. He sadly passed away a few years back😭. What a sad loss of a great musician. He is sadly missed♥️🖤🌹.
George Micheal was incredibly talented, listen to “Father Figure”, to me that is a hauntingly brilliant track. The lyrics and emotion in them is just chilling. Amazingly emotional vocals too.
George Michaels has the clearest voice ever. Lol! He did a live performance with Elton John, singing “Don’t let the sun go down” so good!! Definitely worth checking out! Gives me the goosebumps everytime! Lol
It is interesting that people don't know George Michael. One of the best artists of the 80s and has many hit songs. Faith and Careless Whisper are a must.
RIP George Michael! He is my Mums favourite singer, she walked down the aisle to "Careless Whisper" You should def react to his songs, he has such an amazing voice!! My Mums favourite also is "Everything She Wants" its just ugh amaaazing!!
George Michael was a huge singer in the 80s and 90s. He was apart of the duo I believe it's a duo called wham! One of their biggest songs is called Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. Freddie was a huge inspiration to George. He went solo and one of his biggest songs is called Careless Whisper, which he wrote at 17 by himself. A particular favorite song of mine by him is Freedom! '90 which you seriously need to listen to. Unfortunately he passed away on Christmas 2016. Songs to check out from him: Careless Whisper Freedom! '90 Faith Last Christmas Father Figure Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go And so on! He's really talented
George Michael was such a great singer. He started out in the 80's pop duo Wham my brother had the cassette tape. You definitely need to check out a lot of his songs esp when he went solo from Wham. You definitely won't be sorry listening to his music

Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, the greatest spectacle of modern times. And he was one of the best parts of it. RIP George Michael, he left us far too soon.
I was never a fan of George Michael's music, but I remember being specifically blown away by this performance when I saw it live. I really wanted him to work with Queen after this, but it never happened.
George Michael is a fricking legend. He has probably the best voice ever from a singer. It’s sad that nobody listen to his song or even mention as a great singer. He’s the best singer in my opinion. You should react to Careless Whisper by George Michael
Me and my friends were all into queen at high school in the 90's and it was a big deal when Freddie died! i remember we all watched this concert on TV and this song with George Michael has always been a standout!
One of the "few" in that audience that day. Wasn't all that into George Michael or GnR, but this track was a highlight, the GnR set was amazing and Extreme did themselves proud as well.
George Michael was a part of a pop duo from the '80s called Wham! with Andrew Ridgeley and later had a great solo career. If you saw Deadpool, you'd probably pick that up once you heard a few notes. But, some of their more popular tracks are "Wake me up before you go-go", "Last Christmas", and "Careless Whisper". Should definitely react to some more of his stuff.
An interesting thing about this concert is that not only was everybody who was anybody in rock there, as each of them was interviewed, they all said it was nearly impossible to find a Queen song that they could actually sing, but nearly all did. This was an outstanding concert, the remaining members of Queen were the house band and performed on nearly all if not all songs that day. George Michael, as you heard here, was an amazing singer, songwriter producer and activist. Sadly, he died at a young age of cancer. You have probably heard his songs and just didn't know who performed them. He was huge in the MTv early years.
George Michael is one of the best! Passed way to soon! Checkout George and Elton John singing one of Elton’s songs Dont let the sun go down on me. The live version. George is in a blue jacket. Then listen to All of his other music!
Doesn't get much better or more iconic than this. RIP Freddie and George. You need to check out George Michael and Elton John doing "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"- amazing live duet. Also be sure to check out this concert- a ton of talent kicking ass, honoring Queen's music and an amazing crowd does not disappoint.
I feel really bad for how hard I laughed at the ending. Also, George Michael was one of the founding duo of WHAM! from the 1980s, & died just recently from heart complications. The rest of his music, not just with WHAM!, but also his solo career, is really some of the best from my childhood.
George Michael is an incredible talent on his own! Huge catalog, but you should check out some of his duets with: Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Mary J Blige, Whitney Houston and more. Rest in Power George Michael, another talent/legend gone too soon 🙏
When you said you didn't know who he was, my jaw dropped.( I know that's the way it is cause you're younger) Definitely listen to more George Michael. One of the most amazing voices ever.
You must of heard of careless whisper or last Christmas when George was in the Duo wham! Love your reaction George was a unbelievable vocalist and songwriter.
George Michael was an absolute legend. It's heartbreaking that people don't know his name. You should definitely check him out. Great rabbit hole

One of the best covers ever!!! R. I. P Legends Freddie and George.
Legendary performance, fucking epic indeed!!! Brian’s smile after crowd’s epic “looOOOOooooooooOooove” says it all!
