Did you not hear those vocals? It was perfection. George Michael is a legend all on his own. Every single performance of George's is pure perfection.

The personal story behind George Michael's amazing performance makes it even more MEANINGFUL:
At the time of this show, George's life-partner Anselmo Feleppa, also had AIDS. (But George had not yet "come out of the closet" to ANYONE, not even his family, so this was all kept secret.) ...Just the night before Freddie Mercury died of AIDS (so this was the day that Freddie's public statement was released, stating he had AIDS), Anselmo had told George that he thought he might have AIDS himself/needed to be tested; they got the test results that Anselmo was positive over the Holidays. So, during this performance - and Anselmo was in the audience - George said he was singing his heart out to honor Freddie, and was also praying for Anselmo at the same time. (George also said it was actually one of the worst days of his life, knowing that the love of his life also had this terminal illness.) Anselmo passed away of AIDS the year after this concert in 1993.
BTW... In December 1993, George took part in a charity event to raise money for AIDS, the Princess Trust 1993 Concert Of Hope. His performances ARE AMAZING!
My FAV performance of the show is:
    "KILLER/PAPA WAS A ROLLING STONE"
(I think it either surpasses George's performance here, or is at least tied for best!)
I also LOVE his opening performance of:
    "FATHER FIGURE"....
    The WHOLE show is GREAT!

There were other artists that fronted during this concert. But I felt George stole the show. Which by the way Queen was accused of doing in Live Aid. Which if you haven't, you should watch.

George and Adam Lambert are about the only 2 that can pull this off, besides Freddy
