These are actually amazing tips for neurodiverse people on how to act in meetings. It’s a constant struggle knowing what is socially appropriate sometimes! Good to have it explained like this 😊

Hi, John. I appreciate your kind words. When I talk to the camera, I pretend I'm talking to a real person. I'm more prepared than I'd be for a spontaneous conversation but that's what I strive for, at least. Also, I really like people. I tend to like everybody I meet. I think that helps.

    Don't ask for permission
    Speak up on pause
Lean forward, raise your finger and inhale audibly
Keep it short, clear and concise
Keep eyes up and make eye contact with whoever speaks next

    "Inhale audibly"
    Proceeds to exhale audibly

Ha. I really did inhale. I just did it really loudly so it would show up on the microphone.

Fair question. These tips are for in-person meetings. I don't make a lot of videos about how to communicate in Zoom but there are some great channels out there that have that focus.

I don't have anything on that topic specifically, but I do have a video on "how to politely interrupt a long-winded speaker with verbal strategies." If you search for that title and my name, it should pop up.
