    I started watching your videos Alex a month before I started my channel when you had 10,000 subscribers. You were a big inspiration for me to start mine and share my own ideas on public speaking & communication. Never thought when I pressed record in January 2019 that we would ever end up being friends and collaborating together. It's a true honor to get your support on what we're building. You rock brother. Glad to know you.

      It takes time to "find your voice" and feel comfortable but you just keep doing it consistently and you'll get a little better every time.

    Excellent - I have been in radio broadcasting for 30 years and yet public speaking has terrified me. I find myself being asked more and more to speak publically and my negative thoughts want to stop me and cause me to doubt myself. It's one thing to speak in a "padded room" as opposed to speaking with everyone looking at you. I'm getting less nervous - but still have a long way to go. Thanks for these videos. They help so much.

    Like the jigsaw example. Like your collaboration with others and make the topics more diversify. I don’t need to go any other channels as yours already have the best combined. Thanks for the effort!

    Great video. I've been struggling very much with myself. Coach I I've been learning a lot about relationships and I have been married more than once. And I certainly don't feel qualified for this but I truly want to share what I learned and what works but I don't want to sound like a know it all because I'm still learning and I don't think I will ever master all of it but I don't want to sit on the sidelines either when people struggle with marriage and other types of relationships. Example s like work And other family members And church members. I do feel like I have something to offer.

      Been there, for me I noticed exposure helps meaning I no longer shy away for public speaking ( and its a job requirement so that helps). A wonderful woman Terry said she tells herself that the butterflies in her stomach are from excitement not fear. I take deep breaths and look at the audience before its my turn to speak to humanize them. They want to hear from you, hope that helps 👍👍

    This guest is really, bourgeoisie.. His delivery on confidence is like cold fish. When a person comes off as if he has confidence, pouring on so thick as he does, with his voice inflections rising like a teenager being pinched on the rear-end, he sounds impersonal and unsure.. Hes young, hopefully he grows out of it. "Confidence" is like taking a shower, just relax and hit the important areas. Then dry off and kick back.. Confidence doesn't need to be riddled with a bunch of hokum.. Respectfully..In any case, I gave your video a like..

      I follow various channels who give great advice on how to run a good channel. I recommend Sean Cannell's Think Media channel, Justin Brown's Primal Video, and Roberto Blake's channel for starters. I've essentially just taken their advice and put it into practice.

    Sorry. I can't listen to this guest. His delivery is way too contrived and feels inauthentic.

    • @alexanderlyon
      @alexanderlyon  2 роки тому +1

      He's a prepared communicator, I'll give you that, R G. But I've known him for a while now and he's the same on camera as he is off-camera and he practices what he preaches.

    • @RG-gd5tc
      @RG-gd5tc 2 роки тому +7

      @@alexanderlyon This would make an interesting video. Your narrative is also "prepared", but the timbre and pace are fluid/natural - his was not. It is similar to what I pick up with people in sales or political/religious leaders who are trying to be persuasive. It is an instant shut down for me. I didn't get past 15 words once he started. The content may be great, but obfuscated by the delivery. For me alone?

    • @alexanderlyon
      @alexanderlyon  2 роки тому +8

      Ah, interesting. Well, we all do have preferences in terms of style. It's a little like the way we enjoy certain styles of music, acting, or the way we "click" with some people's personalities but not others.

    • @RG-gd5tc
      @RG-gd5tc 2 роки тому +6

      @@alexanderlyon An interesting analogy. For me, effective communication does not feel like a performance. I value your insights and appreciate your channel!

    • @alexanderlyon

      It's not a bad idea but I don't do reactions to active politicians. Obama is still in the mix of things too much. My channel does not have a political focus. That would be a distraction from what I'm hoping to teach.

      @@alexanderlyon Ok Alex post videos about
      - Aristotle rhetoric
      - Cicero (On the Ideal Orator)
      Thank You for all!!

    • @alexanderlyon
      @alexanderlyon  2 роки тому

      Hi, Altin. Yes, I have videos already that touch on those topics. If you go to the Videos tap on the channel page, you'll see plenty of stuff (over 200 videos). However, I don't typically put names like Cicero in the title because very few people would care to watch that. I have a video titled, for instance, the _5 Canon's of Rhetoric_ . Even that one is a pretty hard sell for viewers. And I touch on Aristotle's ideas all of the time. I mention those names in the videos themselves but rarely the titles.
