I just released a brand new video where I challenged a STRANGER to Talk To Camera for 30 Days - I think ya'll will love it!
ua-cam.com/video/zLjtLMoCB4A/v-deo.htmlsi=kFGpDVc0IgTMKHBr
Cool , good on u
I feel embarrassed, because i can't speak English in public, I'm shy, not confidence. I'm doing these for 30 days and i will come back. 😢😢😢 Today i embarrassed myself reading in class today. I couldn't continue and stoped. Im sad and don't know how walk out. My voice shakes
I have two fears in life. 1) talking to a camera. 2) someone walking in and seeing me talking to a camera.
I don't think people realize how different talking to a camera is from talking to a person. What a transformation though from day 1 to day 30. You just reminded everyone it's possible!
Iam doing the same how to talk to camera and iam on day15 . transformation is insane 😅 I can't believe it ,this trick is working😊😅 .Day1 to day15 oof🫨
Whats the difference really?
@@f4llenstarrthe difference is you're just talking to a audience instead of an person..!
Just use a teleprompter feeding you what the camera is recording in real time. This way it's like talking to a mirror.
Everyone can talk confidently to themselves 🤣
Person to person conversational discussion is easier than talking your ideas on camera for 10 minutes.
I tried this exercise once and what I did to make myself more comfortable I printed a face on a piece of paper punctured an eye for the camera lense and taped it to the back of my phone. It worked for me helped me feel like I was talking to a real person. I leave this tip here in case someone wanna give it a try.
That’s a great tip, thank you!
thats actually Genius
absolutely helpful. I’m going to try this!
Thanks for tip 🙂
Good tip. I use a cartooniish picture of a kid or teddy bear instead, but same idea
This video will change of my life , will comment on it back after 30 days. Wish me luck
I am back by completing 30 days challenge and trust me it really helps me to stand out. I will continue making it for another month. Thanks for motivating me
@@osamakhan2749 how did the second 30 days go? Making good progress?
@@osamakhan2749 excelente
@@osamakhan2749Thanku for the update 🤘
“I’m just a guy in a racing jacket, on the Internet”. Hilarious 😊 Love it
An important realization I have discovered is a relationship between confidence with talking to cameras and communication in real conversations. As i have improved my skills with the camera, i have gained confidence and strength in face to face conversations. Something to consider as you practice...
thats good to hear, im still frightfully shy.
@@Michael-NZ you are not shy, you are insecure and your insecurity is a result of you feeling unworthy. gotta work at the root cause and not fiddle with effects.
I think Matt's starting point was already pretty decent. Would love to see this done with someone who's much worse to begin with (like myself).
More coming soon!
He looks good and has a good voice, he's a natural.
i agree, as most people would be a bag of nerves!!
Just start and make a Video about it 😋
I absolutely love how you call it “Camera” not “the camera”… it’s subtle, but makes it seem less intimidating, a little more personal, but also more of a skill that can be developed naturally “talking to camera”
right, like its name is Camera
@@magentasunbringer @phryge2468 I'm going to name mine James Cameran. ; )
This is basically what I did as a side-effect of making videos. My speech went from slow, stuttering, weak and slurred to something more clear, tonal and smooth (still a little quiet though 😬).
My body language and facial expressions have also improved dramatically. I'm not quite there yet, but the difference speaks volumes. Cool to see it working for others!
Daily how many minutes u used to speak infront of the camera?
Every time I hear "talking to camera" I want to say, "it's talking to 'A' camera.... talking to AAAAAAAAAA camera!!!" lol - great video though.
I noticed a change it appearance. Matt totally changed his look and was way more confident at the end.
This was a great video. For sure took a lot from this. Shoutout Matt for being a great 30 challenger!
I love the playing with the camera distance. It came across so well.
When I saw this pop up, I initially wasn’t going to watch it as I thought it was clickbait, but then I realized it’s a Thomas Alex Norman video! Your videos are always excellent and I appreciate how engaging they are. Easy to watch from start to finish!
this video made me smile so much, I definitely relate to Matt. If he can do it, I can do it. Enrolling in your course today!
Matt you did amazing and made me laugh as it reminded me of myself and how silly i feel when trying to talk on camera and forgetting everything i want to say and just laughing. Now i don't feel alone anymore, thank you Matt!! I feel more confident now because of you.
Congrats man... What a good vibe.. good video.. great sound, great content.. worth watching.. I feel that people who don't need or want to record themselves would still
enjoy watching this!
I really like your funnel, it barely looks like a advertisement
Super smart and authentic funnel!
It's crazy that I was trying to practise filming myself just a couple of hours ago today and was checking your chanel to see if there is any new videos and here we are 😧
Good job you both, it was very helpful as always! And nice to see you back in London Thomas! Hopefuly I can get a collab with you when I am successful enough 😄
I am following you from few years ago .. and I so happy because you come back talking on filmmaking and cinematography .. i will travel tomorrow morning and then yesterday I saw some of your previous videos like (b roll architecture) ... Your videos on filmmaking are stunning and Inspired me to make a family vlogs and videos ..
Ahmed from Egypt .. thanks alot
Thanks! This was very motivating. When I record myself I personally struggle with feeling free to talk and to fight strange postures I could assume. I never had problems in identifying what's wrong in my videos.
This is exactly why I created my channel! I have hearing loss and I started to lose my confidence in my speaking ability. I’m watching this twice and taking notes. Thank you. ❤
This was really cool to watch and also really inspiring! Very easy to watch, thank you!
Wow! The transformation is insane and it's possible for everyone to learn. Seems You are really a good mentor.
Awesome video! I never even had the confidence to pose in front of the camera for a good picture and 3 min. into this video, I took the challenge upon myself, took my phone out to look at its lens, and started speaking.
The initial few mins were super awkward. I started looking around while speaking and getting distracted by several things around me. I was patient, gave it a few more mins and then I started to naturally speak into the lens without looking away and being more natural about my topics. This also increased my focus and allowed me to delve deeper into what I was speaking and brought out the authenticity in me. Thanks for the video. I think this is a great starting point for me and validates my potential that I can speak confidently to the camera too.
as a digital media production major this should be part of a class! Such a great challenge, I will definitely be giving this a shot
It should be a mandatory course.
A wonderful video that confirms that everything is possible, we can learn everything and become masters at it
This is awesome. I honestly felt super awkward the first time I talked to the camera, and although I’m still a bit awkward, I feel like the more I do it the better I get. It’s all about practice!!
This is exactly what I've been looking for! You're the goat.
Greetings from Romania! Man I just want to thank you for this video, I had multiple attempts to start doing UA-cam content. This time I was again on the point of quitting but then I saw this video and just went for it. Now I am at my 5th consecutive short where I took on the challenge of making a UA-cam short for 30 consecutive days. Thank you again and keep doing what you are doing 🙏
Matt is such a cool dude. Thanks for the video. I seriously started my youtube channel 1 month ago. Talking to thw camera is really a skill. Im joing the challenge in 2023
This was actually amazing to see the progress day by day. I love this!
OMG!! Absolutely LOVED this video!! So helpful to me! And very entertaining!! 😅💗💗👏🏼
Wow, that's dedication! It's impressive to see the lengths people will go to improve their confidence.
It's incredible how a person that is recognized as a good speaker in public, could complicate in front of camera. Obviously I'm talking about me, And I think a good portion of the problem rest in my ego, in my esthetics blocking paradigms and trivial but not less important things like that. Once you start to practice as you recommend in your videos, you can discover your angles, your confidence, your voice, your dynamics, as simple as seeing you, taking notes y trying to create something as your 5 mantras to talk in confidence, because everybody needs reflect and write their own mantras, I think is part of the job, the exercise. Thanks again.
Great great video. Thanks for this Thomas!
So good to see...what a transformation ❤️👏🏽
Thanks Thomas, this will be my new year resolution.
I’ll create the timetable today. Each day containing the topic beforehand. 10 min video each day. We good skill need to be learned!!
One of the best and use-full videos I’ve seen in a long time. Very good. I’m subbing 👌🏼
This is a very inspirational video. This technique can be transferred to anything. Just to it every day for 30 days and you´re gonna be more confident in doing it.
I watched this video 2 days ago and decided to give it a go, for at least 30 days. I also challenged my girlfriend to do it herself. Just recorded our first two videos on the subject: Tell me an "epic" event.
This was a bit nerve wrecking but we had so much fun doing it. It's gonna be some fun 30 days.
Thanks for the video, Thomas!
Obviously... Subscribed!
Awesome 👊🏼👊🏼
hey, how did it go?
How did it go
how did it go?? don't leave us hanging :) good or bad either way.
@Elizabethsavannahshelton @betterlivingwithbitcoin @familiarjoe7290 Sorry to keep you waiting guys. That was actually a pretty good experience. It allowed us to explore different styles of videos and different subjects. Some were more formal, other were more relaxed. I realized I'm better with no script at all, either on professional subjects or humorous stuff. My girlfriend discovered she's actually really good when teaching those things she loves to talk about. Now, we've had a few days without videos because life gets in the way or we had no useful ideas. But we did all the 30 videos and learned a ton. I absolutely recommend everyone to try it. I've written down all the daily challenges we've done. If you guys want it I can adapt it, translate it and share it with you. Maybe I can make a video about it... in english. 😆 Not sure you would understand a word of it. LOL
We are portuguese and some challenges wouldn't make sense as it is.
Or, maybe @ThomasAlexNorman decides to sell the 30 day challenge once more. I'm sure you would learn way more from him than doing my version on your own. 🧐
I LOVE this video! I absolutely need to do this myself!
Matt is such a nice guy, I’d like to watch more videos he would create, and he nailed it! I laughed when he was trying Casey work, he did great!Congrats Matt great job!
agreed! As soon as he added those dynamics I felt it make a difference. Even though you can tell he felt a little silly and was laughing through it by talking nonsense, it was a lot more fun to watch.
I think one thing to remember, is also 'cater to your audience'. Being confident is great - but having a smidge of awkwardness can be very charming in its own way, and help people connect to you. Being too 'perfect' makes you less relatable, and in some cases, can make you appear a bit arrogant/self absorbed. But filming yourself is definitely a great exercise for improving your mannerisms, and seeing how you come across to other people.
Your course sounds great! I'm on camera all the time and I picked up some great tips to improve.
a literal play by play. This was great - hopefully you have more videos like this!
This is super inspiring, thank you!
This is totally relatable. I need to do the same challenge to myself and practice everyday for an hour for a month with speaking to camera. Your idea is brilliant. Thanks for the tip! I am also thinking of doing a series of shorts, so this could help also. I have heard some people recommend do a whole series of shorts in a month, to get good at it.
Best thing about it is that it doesn't even have to be an hour per day - it can be as little as 10-15 mins!
Damn one hour everyday is a big commitment 😅
this type of content feels so refreshing for youtube actually... its so like grass roots!
Great film. Really interesting and great to see! Thank you
Congrats Matt! You are funny and very pleasant. Loved your progress, great job!
Wow it’s wild that this doesn’t have more reviews. Thank you! I really need to practice
Loved loved loved day 14!! I personally need to get over the fact that I'm near 60yo and I can SEE all my aging faults and it really doesn't matter and I know it..but it is still highlighted in my head. I also tend to be different on camera than I am in real life. Thank you for this awesome video! This comes from a woman who did a lot of community theater and sang on stage and in a barbershop group.. gah.. why does the camera change us so much.
On the bright side, that means you can reinvent yourself when you’re on camera! You can play at being a different version of yourself, like how you do in theater!
I saw a grandmother on tictok making videos at 74 and she has 2 million followers!!!!!!
You definitely do it
@@CharlesFinancial-qd7ceo yea I know who you’re talking about and she is one of my favs!
The progress! This is excellent! Kudos. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
It's so good dude! I'm hooked 😄
Matt you are a champion!! I looove the tip on moving to and back from the camera!
cracking up this was so fun as well as informative! watching Matts attempts were just great.
I loved this video so much! Thanks for all the great tips!
Wonderful. I'm going to give it a try. That is exactly what I need!
I like the idea of comfort vs confidence as a priority! Thank you! It was nice and fun to watch someone's progress and your comments!
Thank you for this video, it was very insightful!
Great video. Nice way to demonstrate your program. I'm convinced it works just by watching the progess.
Wow the movement made such a huge difference even though he was just talking nonsense. Incredible how one little detail can improve the video so much
Thanks for sharing. I ran across a similar exercise on another channel and I started doing this. I just recorded day 11 tonight before watching this. My approach wasn't nearly as structured as this but it's encouraging me to look for a more structured approach and do daily challenges like this. Not sure if anyone else has done anything similar but did it turn into sort of a cathartic experience for you? I found mine turned into me talking about my life and my day and it feels really good to just be able to do so. And I feel myself getting so much more comfortable with it every day.
Thank you. It was this video that motivated me to start this channel and take on the 30-day talking-on-camera challenge myself.
What a great video - really enjoyed watching the progression.
This is wonderful. Making small progress everyday! Inspiring me to do the same. Although I love talking on stage, in person, being on camera seemed dreadful until now😃😃😃
How come Mat got so confident speaking in front of the camera explaining “why he wants to get better speaking on camera” at 03:15 😂😂😂
It's so cool to see someone improve with a skill in 30 days... reminds me that I can do anything I put my mind to!
This is called boosting confidence.. talking in front of the camera not only helps to grow ur confidence but also it will help u to face the interview
This video is made for me.
Thank you 🙏
been working on a video for months and today I got held up on how I can't get my voice to sound like other creators I look up to. But this really reminded me that those people I look up to used to suck, just like I do now. Gonna get back to work and embrace being new at something
You can do it. Your videos will be awesome.
That intro was so smooth. [taking notes furiously]
I love it bro. Can relate to his struggles so much 😂
Your voice is ❤️❤️watching you for the first time ,loved what you do😎❤️
Thanks a million, everything is possible with consistency Yes
This is a great video. Such a good hook I want to try it now. This is great Thomas
So much fun watching you go from caterpillar to butterfly! I was laughing hard. Bravo!
🐛 🦋 Dale Carnegie books on public speaking are full of useful ideas that can be applied to doing video presentations. ;D
❤ super intéressant ! Il faut vraiment que je le fasse ! Merci Matt
This is Amazing! I wanna try this technique for a month too. Thank you Thomas for sharing this video!
I really appreciate the fact that your a realistic person id like to keep learning from you please make me your next student I’m doing my first year in uni and I’m in Congo 🇨🇩
This guy is awesome, he did a great job and this was a great video... it also sells his course, which is smart!
What an improvement! Nicely done!
Thank you for this informationa, I am definetly gonna try this.
This was a really good video! Thank you =)
Very beautiful video, thanks a lot for the value
I can talk the hind legs off a donkey speaking to myself when I am out on my bike pretending I am vlogging, butcwhen I look at a camera I fluff up feel incompetent sneaking. Glad I found your video.
Great inspiring video. I will do this Challenge myself.
Trying to one day, live off of making content myself. I have ideas but i have yet to get started and get good at it. Currently i am going through a very busy and stressful part of my live but this should resolve this summer. And i will immediately start practicing.
This was amazing to watch, similar to the journey that I am currently on now!
The best❤️ needed it the most
That's a sure thing! Thanks! Just add, that even you have a best mike, curtains help you to reduce echo!
The being close to the camera thing has an amazing effect.
brilliant!!! so helpful... thank you!!!
One of the coolest transformation videos that I've seen!
Great video. I totally thought my dishwasher was beeping both times I watched this, so it felt real and authentic. You've got that going for you. ; )
This guy is SO GREAT! I want to be his friend and buy WHATEVER he is selling!
Thanks I must try it❤love to see how he improved
Thanks so much for this video. I think this is so useful for people trying to get on camear. I think it will boost my confidence and i will try the 30 days challenge myself. WIll share once I am done :)
This video helped so much. I'm so doing this challenge, i can't wait to see the results.
Awesome! This inspired me to join the challenge for the next 30 days!
