How & Why I Modified My 1.4 Ford Fiesta

- I don't know a whole lot about cars but I'm documenting my process as I learn more by experimenting with my own car, I try to do all the work by myself where I can. Why not follow along with the journey and subscribe I would love to hear people's opinions as I embark on this adventure into the automotive world.
In this video:
I give the whole backstory on how this car came to be. Explaining where I got the funds and why I chose to modify my 1.4 ford fiesta Zetec in the first place. In this video, I also give a breakdown of every single modification I have done to the car since owning it so you can see how even the little changes add up to make the final look of the car. Hopefully, this video will inspire you to take your leap into car modifications just like it did.

The mark 7 is such a nice looking one. I had a 59 plate zetec s in white. Enjoyed doing some styling upgrades on it.
I agree the Mk7 lends itself so well to a few styling mods

Amazing! I dont know if this is allowed in the UK, but if it is, you can add an underglow, it will make it look even better
It's legal to have them but there's laws on when you can use them and what colours you can have, might be a cool idea for the future 😁
bro i recently buy from my mom my first car. Ford fiesta titanium 2013. your fiesta looks sick!!. i am going to start modify mine, because know its still looks like a car mon lol. Lovin the mods. Regarding the side skirts. Is it the spring toggles for plasterboard you used. Did you take the rubber grommet out. How did you fix the end caps on.

Yeah I took the rubber grommet out and used spring toggles, the end caps were just push fit but I used mounting tape to make sure they didn't go anywhere. Hope that helps 😄👍
Love the video! I have the same car 1.6 zetec s. I want to install LED headlights but i thought they arent legal. Did yours pass its MOT?
Glad you liked it 😄 yeh they've been on the car for 3 MOT's now and one was even with Ford themselves and had no issues

I used toggle screws and the drainage holes on the car lined up with the holes on the skirt for me so no need for holes to be drilled and then I used mounting tape down the whole side 😄

Hi mate, what spoiler did you buy and add to this car, and would it fit a 1.0 ecoboost titanium? Thanks
It's the RS spoiler from Maxton Designs, it fits the stock fiesta spoiler not the ST spoiler so it should be fine for your car, but I think you can double check on the Maxton Designs website. Hope that helps 😁👍
Hi mate, what did u do for insurance? Got my zetec s that I’m thinking of modifying but not sure how to go about insuring the mods
I'm currently insured with Admiral and oddly it doesn't cost any extra to add my modifications on, I think it helps to have the car Insured unmodified with them to begin with then ring them up and ask how much it would cost to add the modifications on, but honestly I don't know how insurance prices work 🤷😅

May I ask what screws or rivets you used for the bottom holes? I've tried everying... self tapping screws, car panel rivets, glue.. nothing seems to work!! Thanks!! :)
I assume this is for the side skirts, I used toggle bolts, which are normally used for plasterboard 😄👍 Hope that helps

do you know if the zetec s rear bumper would fit directly onto a 5 door zetec?
It worked for me on the 3-door so I don't see why I shouldn't work for the 5-door 😄

Tbh I'm not sure I think the zetec s facelift version may have had a different style rear bumper so not sure if they're compatible or not

I have a 11’ ford fiesta se sedan with a MAF sensor, I bought the sensor adapter and a cone racing air filter. Will it be fine if I keep the stock intake pipe? Or should I get a knN flat panel filter?
Should be fine with stock intake pipe, I'm actually in the process of making some upgrades to my air intake system so keep an eye out for my next video 👀

Mine is the 1.4 petrol Zetec so has 94 bhp from stock. I could remap it but you only get about 5 extra hp so not really worth it imo

how did you install side skirts im on the same boat same car ?
It's mainly mounting tape along the whole length of the car but I also used plaster board screws that just happened to fit perfectly into holes in the frame of the car. Hope that helps 😄

The Black ford badge on the front is from WISH I think and the S badges on the side are from eBay

They're custom, I just used black vinyl wrap from Amazon 😅

How did u change the fog light surround trim with a black one?
I wrapped them in cheap black vinyl, It looks good from a distance 😅 I recommend using better vinyl or spray painting them 😁

Squeeze the clip holding it in from the other side is the best way I think if that makes sense

Yeah you do, here I found this on a forum that explains it better than me:
from looking at the e-cat diagrams it seems that if you open the bonnet and remove the headlight,
you can then reach down to the rear of the fog light, their is a clip on either side that is part of the fog light surround,
squeese them to unhook and push out towards the front of the car.
How did you mount your license plate on the grill
I used command hooks 😄 works really well

@@santidmercadoable Ah I see, unfortunately I got the car with the black alloys already on so I've never had the original wheels also this was a standard Zetec so it just had normal 16" alloys

Oh really I thought they'd be the same I guess the 7.5 is slightly smaller or is it bigger?
@@NOGAutomotive slightly smaller, because the 7.5's badge is on the bonnet rather than the 7.0's being on the grill. But the seller has offered to swap them luckily its all good

But best question is.. did you report to your insurer every single change? If not.. you know that police can give you a ticket for driving without insurance and in case of accident insurer can refuse paying?

Aha nah genuinely everything has I wouldn't feel comfortable driving it otherwise, luckily for me insurance company didn't charge me any extra other than the admin fee😅

Only cost £135 in repairs and DVLA registering to get it back on the road 😁👍
As for the mods I'm not sure I might do a video on it in the future

I just pass from Saab 2 doors then ford Mondeo 2 l and now 1.2 ford fiesta 😂I buy it for 900 I have put 3 k into it to replace broken stuff plus sport system exhaust with pops 😂 the car invest around 2000 plus only exhaust was 800😂😂 now I regret I put to much 😂 also I have 210k miles on engine and no leaking works perfect 😮

Think of the posatives least you can learn from this never to do it again and actually spend ya money on performance mods I would've scrapped all that pvc and wish cannards in the bin and bought a decent set of tyres and brakes pads maybe a short shifter would've enhanced the driving so much better snowflakes do one I'm not having ago
