Fiesta's aren't just for newbies, they're great secondary family cars. Ideal for quick school runs or a nip round to the shop. Very enjoyable and effortless to drive on urban and back roads and cheap as chips to buy, run and maintain.
Yea exactly I'm old enough to agree i have a fiesta mk7 2013 with the 1.0L ecoboost and the duel clutch automatic and they are reliable and very practical i rather drive that than my 2019 focus st-line 😂
I just got a Fiesta ST-Line X Edition. I'm 42 and this is the BEST car I've ever owned. Nippy and sticks to the road like a limpet (My Ibiza FR Sport always felt it was going to roll if I took a corner too quickly). I don't want Hot Hatches or a revvy car. But this is an absolute winner for performance. OK, I also wanted the heated windscreen, steering wheel and seats :) Buy one.
I've just bought a 2011 Ford Fiesta Zetec TDCi and it's MILES better than the 2008 Ford Fusion Zetec that was administrated to me by my parents to get me through my first full year of driving since passing my test. It's even helping me with my finances - Fiesta is group 4 insurance (Fusion was group 9), is only £20 road tax (Fusion was £220, but I paid £121 for 6 months), runs on diesel (Fusion was petrol), has air conditioning (Fusion's one never worked) and it's black (Fusion was blue). I've named her Shadow as she's the best car I've ever had. I've even connected my phone so I can listen to my music, hear the sat nav on Google Maps and make and answer phone calls whilst driving! She also has really comfortable seats and doesn't run out as quickly as petrol cars do, depending on how often I use it. But I love it!
I have the Titanium version of this, same year. It has strange gearing and serious turbo lag, juddering when cold, but I would rather have this than the Ecoboom. It's not bad on fuel. I much prefer my older Golf GT 2.0TDI though, so much quicker and smoother, but it had too many issues and had to be scrapped.
I just got myself a 2020 nissan versa sv in monarch orange. i love watching these kinds of videos. I originally wanted a toyota but this is what i just ended up leaving with, i dropped the gun too fast and jumped on it without seeing what else cars i had to choose from, lol but i'm grateful, god is good! i have videos of my car on my channel as well.
The only problem with this car being your first car at a young age is the little rolling resistances it has, It's so easy to go over the speed limit if you aren't paying attention. This can be a nightmare if you have a black box. Without a box it's a perfect day to day driver. It's fun to drive, nippy good on insurance and the fuel economy is great.
If you’re a bigger lad I recommend the focus instead. Bigger car inside, more versatility, same good fuel economy. Exact same price as the fiesta’s if you’re looking second hand comparing 2013/2014
All 1.0 eco boosts (by the name boost) are turbo charged. Each have different software maps ranging from 100, 120 or 140 PS). There is no non turbo ecoboost. You may be thinking of the 1.2 duratec petrol.
I started off with bmw 5 series as my first car and then I got a mercedes s class but now I have finally upgraded to a ford fiesta and I am very happy.
I have basically 148.000 on my 2013 fiesta 1.0 ecoboost but i did have that wetbelt swapped at the beginning of this year were it was 10 and a half years old delivery a good engine for the most people

What are your thoughts on the automatic version of the Fiesta? Any significant drawbacks in your eyes versus other automatics in a similar price range?
Automatic tranmission on the Fiesta is notorious for being unreliable. Same as the 3 cylinder ecoboost (ecoboom) versions. 1.25 or 1.4 petrol or diesel variants are supposed to be the most reliable. I have the 1.4 petrol.
Great video Josh. The Fiesta is one of the UK's best selling cars and there probably great but there too common in my opinion. Is there any other car you would recommend ? if you want to stand out from the crowd for you're first car.
Cambelt change is very expensive on the Ecoboost and plenty of belts have failed early, wrecking the engine. Coolant loss and turbo issues are other problems. They are nicknamed Ecoboom in the trade, beware!
I have the titanium ecoboost i did have that problem when I first bought the car second hand of the noise going over bumps lucky i had warranty and they told me it was the tie rods i got it fixed and haven't heard the sound since. The other problem I had was the thermostat housing gasket failing and I had no heat in the car also the oxygen sensor went and needed to be repaired. But I love the car it's great it's fast in my one I get about 250 km for now prices a €1.81 l at 35 euro
Just bought one of these on a whim as need a new car quickly. Should have done some research on the engine first as they're known for going boom. With that being said, it's a lovely car, really great to drive and the power feels good. Shame about the engine reliability. I only drive 30 miles a week so may get lucky and never need the belt changed. Fingers crossed 🤣
Problem is even the model that came before this is about £4000 second hand with ALOT of miles. This later model is round about £7000 which for me is expensive
Used to own a 2011 1.4 TDCi one of these, was slow as pants, 74Bhp and felt like it only had that too. Now in a 67 reg BMW 335D X Drive (4 wheel drive) with an insane amount of torque and power for a big 4 door saloon, 313 Bhp and 630NM of torque, 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and still achieves a solid 35-40MPG.
Getting road speed up in those gear changes are ok....not economic but perfectly acceptable, I wouldn't recommend 'new' drivers to attempt it until they build their competency. I just got a 1.6 tdci Fiesta...I've had a lot of cars over the years...my favourite was a Ford Scorpio 2.9 V6 auto....such a comfortable car around 11-12 mpg around town! Economic, comfortable, great all round vision (you watch..now I've said that I'll probably stack it into a lorry). Initially the tracking was slightly out but that was a really cheap quick fix. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is getting Google maps to play over the stereo, phone connects via blue tooth but when navigating there's zero commentary either from the phone or the stereo...not a big issue, just a little annoying. Great video, and great advice!
