    In today's video, we finally unbox the new engine for the 240SX and talk about why there's been such a delay in progress over the last few months. With everything I've been doing in the background, we're about to dive into a lot of seriously fun content! In the near future, I'll be introducing a lot more project content to the channel, in addition to my normal reviews. The 240SX will be picking up soon (engine swap), along with a few other things I have in the works! I'm really excited about these projects. They're a great way for me to interact with you all more and us all to have fun together!

      Man, I've almost given up trying to figure it out. It's like UA-cam is limiting how many people get to see my videos. It doesn't make sense because the content is family friendly and advertiser friendly. I refuse to placate their algorithm, I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. Certain channels are being selectively promoted, that's why you see some consistently getting 1m+ views, regardless of how much they upload. Back in the day, subscribers were the biggest indication of how good your channel was doing. Now, it almost doesn't matter because youtube makes you jump through so many hoops to get notified, yet I've talked with tons of people who haven't gotten a video notification in months. My videos don't get suggested very often either. If they do, it's something I did years ago. All I can do is stick to my guns and push forward. The system is broken.

    Looking forward to the engine swap. Your channel was the first automotive channel I subscribed to. Sad to see your viewership fall. That said - I think you are making the right decision to move in a different direction. The new competition has a different style but they aren’t doing restomods. I used to have a 1996 240SX SE with a manual transmission and regret selling it five years ago as it was in perfect condition - just needed more power!
    I second others comments that you should do videos of your house construction. Anyone that likes project channels would also find that interesting as well. Don’t make the same mistake you did by not doing content on the garage/shop construction.
    Looking forward to the engine swap and the Jimmy project. Best of luck.

    I don't know how you do it Kyle. You're getting ready to move, you're starting to build a house, you're restoring 4 cars and filming and editing videos. If I was in your position, I would already have had about 5 or 6 meltdowns. LOL. BTW, thanks for your condolences about my mom. I really do appreciate it.
    The thing you said about you not being a vlogger, I think people would like to see a bit into yours and Christal's life. I'd like to see vlogs of your new house being built and the process, maybe Christal do some vlogs here and there. Who knows? Maybe it'll bring your views back up.

    Kyle, why don't you paint the car 1st with the engine out ? Wouldn't it be easier to paint the engine bay etc 1st, rather then after ? What is your thought process here ?

    • @tyleralcover5901

      Hes keeping the same color so i doubt hell paint the bay

    • @saabkyle04
      @saabkyle04  5 років тому +8

      I'll paint the bay when the engine is out, but won't paint the rest of the car till later. I can't put all that money into it at one time. The engine bay on the '89 and '90 models was black so I don't have to worry about color matching the rest of the car. It'll just look clean and factory.

    You should use the rb26 valve covers because they have better baffling and allow for the oil to flow easier. RBs in general tend to keep the oil up in the head which generates a lot of blow by. So those covers should help with that situation. Btw keep up the great work 👍🏻😎

      Yeah, that's the only thing that kept me from doing it at the time, I didn't want to cut a hole in it. I was told that if I went for aftermarket cams, I wouldn't have to cut the hole. Of course most of us viewers would like more regular updates on the 240, but with everything you have going on, it's actually grat by you that we get anything at all. Plus, doing the work slowly, but carefully far beats rushing the build. This 240 mod is just so tastefully done, imo. It's gonna be a fantastic car when it's done! Also, I absolutely don't mind you doing less reviews and more project cars, enjoying them massively.
    A couple of questions from the top of my head: What's the weight difference between the KA24 and the RB25? Body kit and spoiler coming when? How is your time divided (roughly) between your four(!) project cars right now (240, Chevelle, Jimmy, Crew Cab)?
    Anyway, I have been susbribed to your channel for close to 8 years now (I remember for example you uploading your 1000th video - the Lotec C1000) and it's been a joy to watch it growing. Just keep doing what you enjoy and I am sure your audience will enjoy watching it! There is a lot more where that came from...

    • @saabkyle04
      @saabkyle04  5 років тому +1

      Thanks so much for providing this feedback, it means a lot. As far as your questions, I'm not sure of the weight difference, but the RB definitely weighs more than the KA. I've been thinking of weight saving measures for the front, like a carbon fiber hood, but since it's not going to be a race/drift car, I'm not too concerned about it at this moment. For now, most of my time needs to go toward the 240SX and Jimmy. I'll have a crew cab video going up tomorrow and some more content on it before the end of the year. It's definitely a long termer. As far as the Chevelle, we're trying to find brands to partner with for it that will offset the cost of the rust repair. I want to make a lot of content, but it's hard when the videos just aren't pulling many views. Really have to be careful on what I spend money on for the time being. That being said, my gut tells me we won't dive into the chevelle until early 2019. I will have some content on it before the end of the year though. Having your support for all of these years means more than you can imagine. Thanks again for everything!!
