In today's video, I'm beginning the extensive process of rebuilding the rear end in my 240SX! I'll be creating a series out of this that will be broken up into four parts. Part 1 (this video) focuses on disassembly and subframe refurbishment. Part 2 will focus on the differential. I'll be installing a limited slip differential and rebuilding the case with new hardware, oil seals, etc. Part 3 will focus on installing high-end adjustable control arms and replacing worn out bushings. The last video will focus on installing custom axles and rebuilding the sway bar. As you can see, there's a TON that needs to be done! I look forward to sharing all of this with you all as we continue the journey of resto-modding this car. Enjoy!

I really like how much this channel has expanded. Used to be just simple car reviews, start ups and test drives. Now we see exotic cars, the cars in Kyle’s personal life, among other things. Can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store for this channel.
Kyle Dipper Thank you so much for your support 🙌🏻
Saabkyle04 if you ever do car reviews again you should review a 1999 Chrysler 300m, those cars are probably one of the last Chrysler to have true style
YESSSS 240SX CONTENT !
I can imagine the effort it takes to film these videos while also working on your car. Exceptional as always Kyle!
aumkar chandan Thanks bud! It’s a continuous learning experience, but I feel it’s getting better and better with each video!
really liking the fact that youre taking the initiative to do all these things physically yourself
I started watching years ago, love the in-depth tours, as a mechanic myself i love seeing this hands on content on your channel now, gives more variety and I think you'll reach out to a wider audience now, and you're expanding your own skills keep it up 👍
mrmike 87 Thank you my friend, I really appreciate that!
deeply moved by your 240SX project videos, how you explore the car, did the repair, restore and rebuild by yourself and with some help from friends. keep going!
Thank you my friend, I appreciate that!!
Between the Milwaukee power tools and the Teng hand tools, there's nothing you can't tackle. Wrenching gives a new depth and dimension to your channel. You're doing a great job!
You deserve 100million subs
Most definitely my favorite build on UA-cam. Everyone does these crazy builds, but I just like seeing a good old car being made good as new again.
Thank you so much!
I like these modifications in a 240
I did this to my 240sx s13 a few months ago and can understand just how much work this requires. great job!
You really put a lot of work in this car, it should be with you forever.
If only everyone worked on their cars like this. Sooooo clean. Well done sir
Thanks James!!
I like that. Getting your hands dirty. Like the variety of have been coming out with. Appealing to all audiences well done!
So excited for the next videos
If I were to have a 240 this is how I'd do it i.e. properly! It's epic and the attention to detail is amazing. Keep up the good work kyle!!
Thank you Sunny!!
i am so happy for this build, not just a drift build like almost every other youtuber
Thanks for supporting the vision!!
Absolutely love your Build videos, resto-mods done right; no short-cuts no expense spared - all the best equipment available.
Thank you Alexander! This has blown up way more than I could have ever imagined and I'm thankful for it! This is exactly how I always wanted to approach a project like this. Thanks for watching!!
Can't tell you how many different and axels I've swapped out. It's nice seeing this come together. Keep it up Kyle!!
Thanks buddy!!
Beautiful restoration process. Your 240sx is going to be a monster when you finish with it.
Thanks Darth!!
that lift is sick dude.
More s13 videos please!!! There aren’t enough people out there who are as perfectionist as me when working on cars so when someone (you) produce content that scratches that perfectionist itch for viewers like me, we end up wanting loads of uploads! Too many people cut corners but you are going in depth and it’s so satisfying to watch the progress! I’m building my miata’s to this level of OCD and it is so exciting to imagine how smooth and new the cars will feel when they are finished so please upload more!!!
These videos are soo addicting and satisfying to watch.
Seriously, keep them coming!
I have more coming, and sooner this time haha. Thanks pal!
I respect your passion and your love for cars etc.
Keep going Kyle!Greetings from Greece!
Will do my friend, thank you!!
watching this while I wait paint dry, way better than watching paint!
How satisfying. I bet every car wishes they were treated like this 240SX
:)
This build is crazy!
It's going to get crazier!!
Understood. Can you please tell me where you get the specs
Fan of your channel for years, i admire your attention for detail. Keep it up, great content! Greetings from Holland.
Thank you my friend!
Finally, I just rewatched all the past videos waiting for the next, great videos! Thanks!
Thanks pal! More coming soon!
This whole series is awesome! Just binges watched this whole series, Love it! I am impressed on how you are doing so much work on your own, good to see! Wish there was an easier way to play in Chronological Order
Let me know if you have any suggestions! This is my first project car series so I'm still learning. Thanks so much for watching!!
Lots of hard work thank you Kyle !!
Thank you for watching! Have a nice day!
Sat down and had my morning coffee to this video. Another great one bud, keep up the good work!
Thank you very much!!
You turning wrenches on your car gets my respect. Some guys on UA-cam just talk and take their car to get worked on. 👍🏻
InternetDude Man, it can be frustrating, but it’s been so much fun. Seeing things come together like this is so rewarding 🙌🏻
Please keep working on the 240. I love the depth that you’re going on this build.
Yessir, you got it!
I love how some one goes in depth with a build like who actually makes it a clean drift car and does the whole suspension no just coil overs
Thank you!!
This car is going to sound so good when it gets the new engine!
Yes it will!
Watching this series really make me regret selling my s13. I like what you’ve done with yours so far. Keep up the great content!!!
These videos are highly underrated!
Thanks a lot!!
I dont know why, but I just found out about this build series, and I just binge watched every episode lol. About time Kyle, so interesting watching build series especially with someone with your knowledge. I dont have a 240, but I would love to have one. So if i ever get one I know what parts to use, and what videos to watch if I need help. Thank you Kyle for the awesome content, and keep up the good work. I've been subscribed for over 3 years!!!!!!
I my self have a datsun 280zx project and these videos from you are helping me stay motivated in doing the project. I cant wait to see your finished product as i cant wait till mine is done as well. keep up the good work man.
Best of luck on that Z!! Thanks pal!
Your best video series by far. Can't wait to see where this project goes. Keep up the good work, Kyle!
Thanks man!
No problem!
Finally some progress on the 240SX!
Love it, keep 'm coming
I have a lot more coming soon. It's been a mess getting ready for these videos and dealing with setbacks over the last couple months. I'll be filming a 240SX parts/engine/progress update in the next week or so!
Great job rebuilding the rear end.
Kyle is thorough as hell with this build, going to be so ace dude!
Thanks James!!
This stuff excites me more than any other video. I don’t know why? Maybe it’s something out of your norm! 🤷♂️
Avais Hussain That’s why I started this in the first place! It’s different, at least for me. It’s allowing me to do something I’ve always wanted to do, restore/build a car, and share it with everyone. At the end of the day, UA-cam is all about having fun 🙂
I'd like to state that I appreciate you actually showing the work on the car. Unlike other channels... "Alright so I got the thing off on to this"
Auto Shenanigans-Behind the scenes That’s something I really wanted to focus on. I edited out a lot of frustration though 🤣 I should do blooper reels 🤙🏻
Nice Kyle, I give you a lot of credit. You tackled this project head on and weren't afraid to get out of your comfort zone. Keep up the good work, can't wait for the next 240 video!
Thanks so much for watching! That's what it's all about! :)
Recently rebuilt the entire suspension on my pop's 1995 Mustang, so I know the pain that is removing bushings. Luckily for you, 240's don't have a live axle that weight 350lbs and is 6ft wide, still a fun experience.
Abe Dekok Man, That sounds rough! 😅
nice work! greetings from Germany!
VAG-Technik Thanks pal!!
Everyone sit back and listen to brilliance. 👍👍
:)
OP has the face that couldn't kill an ant. Subbed btw! great content!
...nice find with this 240, whew, looks super clean underneath for age. Definitely a sweet project car and very nicely done vid here (as usual). Thanks!!!
Edward Carmack Thanks for watching!! I was lucky to find one with no rust or major issues underneath!
Awesome video Kyle, keep up the good work. Greetings from France!
Max Lowe Greetings, thanks so much for your support! 🤘🏻😁🤘🏻
I love these videos! So much fun to watch... Cant wait to see the car all finished!
David Covey It’s been a long journey and here’s still so much that has to be done, but I’m making real progress now! Thanks bud!!
Awesome video, Kyle! Can’t wait to see the 240 when she is done! Maybe I’ll see it driving around here in Clemmons or Davie area, eventually, lol! 😂
For Enthusiasts Reviews Hopefully I’ll have it back on the road within the month 😁
Wow Kyle will you be the next great mechanic? Just kidding. That's a nice spacious garage and well set up for you. My cousin had a car like that back in the day and it lasted forever and you should get the same longevity with yours!
kbw1970 Haha, thanks man!! 🙌🏻
COOL 240SX Rear End Rebuild Part 1: Disassembly and Subframe Overhaul!
Just woke up, great way to start my morning. Awesome job
Thanks!!!
The best part is that there's no CVT 😋keep up the great work
Amazing build...cant wait to see it finished.
Thanks!!
Wow you are a great mechanician
Always keep your bushings checked, and tires. It greatly reduces strain on the cars parts.
He's so precise 😊
That's the only way to be! Do it right the first time :)
Can't wait for the other parts!!
Me too! Going to work on it more today, hopefully get part two done within the week!
if you ever do this again, unbolt the coil overs and the subframe bolts and drop thw whole thing at once. Works like a charm and with 2 people can be done in 20 minutes
Great video, Kyle! Lovin' this 240 project
Thanks Matt!!
I am a long subscriber. I love your work. I wish I had the mechanical skills as you.
Great POV Kyle. I have no idea what you are doing but I appears you do which is what’s important. 😁
Yes, very much so :D Thanks for watching!!
Amazing Kyle! I'm glad to see a project with such a level of prolixity. I want see more! Greetings from Argentina!
Thank you Leandro, that means a lot!
Great work, looks perfect. I do same right now, front and back frame for my 99 miata. Greetings from Prague.
Sounds awesome! Thanks!
I'm all about these videos.
Thanks for watching!
Very thorough I genuinely enjoyed this
Thank you for watching!!
Great progress, looks so so good, excited to see more
Thanks!!
watched it full even tho I know nothing.. great vid man
Hopefully you know something after the video :) Thanks man!!
Order black mamba latex gloves. Super strong, chemical resistant, and I've used single pairs for hours on end and no rips.
I'll do that, these blue gloves I have are horrible, they rip to pieces in minutes haha.
Saabkyle04 you won't regret it. Amazon has them for about $13 a box. Well worth it
Love these kinds of videos so much attention to detail an I like it
Thanks!!!
I give you props I'm pretty sure other youtubers would stretch these videos out longer like 30 vids long something like that keep up the work also i would upgrade the sway bar 👍
Yeah they would haha. I'll have a lot more content with this car over time. It's taken forever to get the plan in order and deal with setbacks.
Great video, very well shot too, can clearly see a lot of work has gone into this! Looking forward to the next part now 👍🏼
Ryan C Thank you! I’m trying to improve with every new project video. It’s a learning process 🤘🏻 Have a great day!
always looking forward for interesting and awesome videos like these.
Martin Asis Thank you!
Loving this series
Thanks Nicholas!
Hey saabkyle04 I Have to say you made the right choice for the rear subframe being powder coated, and the powder coat will last you the rest of your life.
P.S. I can't wait for the other three videos. :-) ;-)
Matthew Guyer Thank you!! 😁🤙🏻
I want to do poly bushings on my e46 but I’m worried about the squeak, can’t wait for the next video
Nice video as always Kyle, I like your approach as how you film yourself, letting your audience see you while you are doing your mechanic work, not like Chris Fix, which he is constantly hiding, what is he afraid of, that somebody might follow him home, or somebody might recogize him and say hi to him? I like you much better Kyle, keep up the excelent work.
Good video Kyle!
Thanks!!
That sure is a nice rear end ya got there
XD hahaha
Finally Kyle 😩
Mohammed Al It’s been too long! I’m going to film a 240SX update in the next week or so to discuss where the project is right now 😁🤙🏻
Nice dude. Keep these quality videos coming.
Thanks!!
I love this videos, just wish that came out sooner
Me too, this project hasn't been easy. I have an update video coming out soon to explain some of the delays and what you can expect in the coming months. The suspension videos will all be out relatively quick.
I love your videos!!! I live in NC right next to kernersville too!
Small world! That's awesome bud, thank you!!!
You never want to use old crusty nuts!!
Great Video BTW!
Oh no! Hahaha thanks pal!
I think, in the long run, it would've been easier and faster to just pull all the arms and the diff out with the sub-frame. You then remove everything else when you have unimpeded access 360° around the piece. Send off items to powdercoat, rebuild/modify differential, and install new bushings. Reinstall arms and diff into sub-frame and reinstall assembled sub-frame onto vehicle.
Hello, Brazil here !!
Hey Gustavo!
You deserve more views.. Take care for your Nissan :) Awesome videos and projects!
