Hi! This is the location of the backup files for the macOS users: /Users/[YOUR_USERNAME]/Library/PHAT12/banks
Just change the [YOUR_USERNAME] for the name that you created in your macOS system. Example: if your username is steve, than the files location is: /Users/steve/Library/PHAT12/banks

Not sure if something changed in app or there's a difference Mac OS versions, but I'm running Big Sur and even though my banks are definitely being saved somewhere (when I close and open the editor my saved banks are still there to select), but I don't have a 'PHAT12' folder anywhere. Have tried in HD library and user Library, with hidden files shown, tried using spotlight searching for 'PHAT12' and for my bank names specifically.

I have noticed that the app data folder could be hidden and you need to go to the "view" tab and then check the box "hidden items" I also had a problem with getting my deepmind 12 to connect to the computer editor via USB, so I simply disconnected all USB cables in the computer (except mouse and keyboard), turned everything off, connected only the deepmind 12 to the usb and turned everything on again.The editor now found and connected with the deepmind 12 right away via USB. Hope this extra info will help others with the same issues and make this guide even better.

can you explain where to drag your new presets on the preset manager? i thought all you did was drag you new presets onto the preset manager and that's it. But I cant find my new presets when I go play the DM12
Hello, I did everything according to the instructions of your film, only that my instrument, after sending it to Best Bank, sees nothing and there are still factory sounds on the Bank A instead of the best ones I chose, please give a hint what I am doing wrong

A little tip, I have the USB of the Deepmind going to my PC and I also have 5 pin MIDI in and out to USB going from the Deepmind to the PC, this way I can connect the Deepmind to the app and my DAW at the same time, it's also great for editing the effects and pre-sets on the fly

Thank you for this, Waveform. I managed to get most of things working, but I can't get the physical movement of a slider on the Deepmind12d to reflect in the factor editor. Im using a midi keyboard (as you are) to key sounds, and I have that working. If I click a button on screen it lights up (or doesn't) on my DM12. If I move a slider onscreen I can see the screen change, but I can't get the physical buttons and sliders to reflect on the screen itself. Do you have any pointers on what I may not have configured? Is it something in routing in the software, or perhaps a setting under the global menu? Ive been pecking at it for a few hours now and can't seem to crack it. Thanks for any pointers you may be able to provide, or at least direction to a manual of some kind, if one exists.
Hi Cedric, If you've got banks loading and saving OK, then moving a physical slider should be reflected on screen...go through the video again, & see if you still have a problem...
@@waveform-synths I figured it out later as I read through other posts. The settings for NPRN are what threw me. Thank you for replying to a question 3 months after posting the video! :-)
For some reason, my default banks aren't showing up in the preset manager :/ Do you know how I can fix it by chance?

Hi, I had a thought while watching the part where you describe a tiny square box appearing on the right side i.e Brassy KA. I wonder if it means that it has been copied to the computer, showing the symbol for 'Windows'? If I was a software programmer, I think I'd use a symbol to denote it resides on a Windows computer to differentiate the one on the synthesiser. Maybe there is a similar symbol that appears for a Mac computer?
It's probably an invisible character, like "Enter", "Tab", or a symbol that cannot be displayed properly. The synth just doesn't display it, and the App tries and gets that. Most probably doesn't influence, like ending the name with a dot or not.
@@DiegoSynth Aye! Maybe so...... You see a lot of them in emails in place of an icon or a character.
For extra peace of mind.... knowing how temperamental computers can be, I've copied my PHAT folder to another part of the computer and onto an external h/drive. I might also copy them to a cd, along with other downloaded sound patches.
Great tutorial but is there a way to store a new bank on the synth without overwriting an existing factory bank?

Hey thanks for the super useful tut. I have one problem: When the App is connected to the device via USB, the driver is no longer recognized by my DAW (win10). On the other hand, when I reobot the device, the midi port will be aknowledged by Ableton immediately but the App gets disconnected...
If you can, try using the regular midi on the DAW & USB for the App when running them together, (or Wifi for the editor)...

Thank you mate, unfortunately i think the DeepMind app manager is not really intuitively and easy to use, because the lay out graphics doesn't help to understand.

Try going through the steps again slowly, and try connecting Via Wifi if Midi is still giving you problems...
