Great patch bank of classic analogue tones! Works really well for Synthwave or other synth-pop electronic music. Easy to load into the DM12, just drag the SySex file into the Preset Editor and copy over to bank.
Great demo showing classic sounds! That is important since many people believe the DM12 can only do FX and complex pads :) Beside, for those who think it's just à JUNO copy: it is MUCH more! Not only does it have more expression (velocity, aftertouch..) but the modulation matrix includes all effects parameters, which, to my knowledge, is unique (I don't even have that possibility in my A6). Plus, the possibility to have very complex envelopes (each segment, including sustain, can have its own curve shape, including a slope for the sustain): that again is unique on an analog synth today. And as for the screen: it is not "old" at old, and extremely clear. No analog synth today enables such curve edition (no DSI, no Moog, no Korg...). And the polyphony enables great things as well. A great machine indeed!
thanks! Indeed, it's not an expanded Juno-106 copy. I like the 106 Design, it feels very familiar when I need to tweak sounds quickly. I prefer conservative, clear, timeless designs over futuristic ones like on the A6, little Phatty or Waldorf products.
So how does this compare with your Andromeda? Thinking of selling my Ion and R3 and picking one of these up. Congrats on the A6 by the way...that synth seems like a beast.
@@robbelliii I don't actually have the Andromeda but tried it in a friend's studio. The user interface is not self explaining, it's not easy to quickly get what you want from it. Rather confusing. I personally wouldn't buy one. Don't like the design, too.

Hi! Just ordered and received these patches yesterday, and wow. They are amazing. Both Banks the Classic Analog and Deep Impressions are amazing. Thank you for making this synth a whole new experience!!!
Live in the Dolce Vita 😊 Very nice, they sound so vintage, showing that the Deepmind comes very close to the old Juno's. If I had a Deepmind I would buy your patches. But will buy some of them for my other synths. Keep up the good work!
Just wanted to comment and say how much I appreciate these patches. Grabbed them this weekend. I'd never plugged my DM12 up to my computer, but with a USB 2.0 cable it was incredibly easy to do and I just downloaded SysEx Librarian and it worked so quickly. I already loved my DM12, but this fills in so many gaps that I had with the patches that come on it.
That filter is just sooooo smoooooth!!! I think this might just aggravate my Prophet 6 a bit :). It sounds every bit as good at less than half the price :(.
Both are very nice synths, and should play nicely together. They sound very different, so absolutely get the one you prefer the sound of first. I got the DM12 first because it was cheaper and it's my first poly.
I own both. And the OB6 sure sounds very nice. But be aware that, modulation wise, it is somewhat limited compared to the hugely versatile and powerful Mod Matrix of the DM12. I love them both equally. The SEM based filter on the OB6 is superb, and the DM12 is equally impressive with its Juno 106 cloned oscillator and filter (especially in Unison-2 mode). Even more impressive is the build quality, and sound quality at such a low price point for the Behringer (all metal and wood, much like the OB6 which cost over 4 times more !). A good idea might be to do as I did: get the OB6 Desktop Module version, and play it from the DM12, saving a few bucks along the way.
You can always wait for a better day, but when comes your day? Tomorrow, in two weeks or 2 or 20 years? For me is it always zu today, because life is not endless!
I agree, 1, 2 or more oscillators and the quantity of LFOs does not mean better instrument quality sound. Whoever was in charge of creating these patches - was thinking, if we can add more multi-effects, rhythms and layers this would attract more sales - not true at all for me. If it was not for UA-cam videos demonstrating the possibilities I would not have purchased a DM-12.

Thank you! But don't forget, you get authentic vintage analog synth sounds which you can easily modify with few slider moves to your musical needs (like you would do on a Juno-106). You can use the patches in many musical contexts - Laserdance, Retropop, Funk or any style where vintage analog synths are required.
I just loaded these great sounds that really boost the Deepmind. I wonder how Christian programs to get fat patches without using Boost mode , on this synth that sounds thin to the core. Thanks for the job!

Best promotional spot ever for this new synth, you sold me one (and the patches too, really really good and beautifully vintage). Are they gonna work also on the newest Deepmind 6 ?
thanks! Yes, the DM6 is compatible, you just have half the polyphony. I think the DM 12 is the better choice, since many of the best sounds are 6 voice polyphonic on the DM 12, because "unison 2" is engaged - to layer oscillators for fat sounds like heard in this video.
Do you mean that these really good sounds with 6 voice on the DM12 utilize unison, are going to cut back to just 3 voices on the DM6? I ask this because I'm very interested to buy the DM6 instead of the DM12 now.

You made it sound very close to a Juno with these patches, far better than the factory. If I didn't know you were playing this I'd swear it was a Juno.
@@AnalogAudio1 the DM12 started life as a Juno-106 clone, hence it's front panel layout. Clever use of the mod matrix makes it possible to simulate the Juno's BBD chorus and it sounds near identical to my old 106.
a resonant filter switchable as lowpass/highpass/bandpass, controllable via LFO, envelope, and so on... via modulation matrix. But remember, it is from the effect section, that means 1 filter for all voices. But anyway, a great thing
Very nicely done. As an owner of a Juno 60 bought new in 1982, I was under no illusion the DM12 would sound the same, but all the knob-twiddling idiot arpeggiator videos on YT made me fear the worst. Just got a DM12 this week and am finding that the default patches are poor and that great sounds can be had, if not with the immediacy of a Juno 60. I saw you already made these points eloquently in the comment section. You certainly know your stuff. Therefore I would be interested in your take on the Prophet Rev 2 and the Prologue 16 for someone who is primarily a player, with reasonable programming skills. I will also email you for the sets.
For as much as people like to hate on Behringer, this seems pretty amazing. I'm not gonna lie, I saw it in a Sweetwater catalog and immediately wrote it off as a flash in the pan.
I was able to take the "classic" Juno 60 patches and make them all work, but I hit a snag on the ones created with the resonance of the filter. Did you notice it is different from the old Juno 60?
not better, just different. Almost all settings sound great on the Juno-60, but on the Deepmind you have to invest time and you need skills to know how to make the Deepmind sound good. Apart from that, a Deepmind will never come close to a Juno-60, much closer to an Alpha Juno
@@AnalogAudio1 just curious why is that? does the. deepmind. not have all the same. front panel controls more or less? thnx great patches, will get if i buy this synth!
classic patches great to hear this synth try and sound analogue...seems a bit thin and bright to sound really classic but pretty decent...might pick one up and if I do will def buy these presets...
To all Synth manufacturers bringing back analog please forget all the extra features on the synth! Just give us true rich full analog square, sub, and triangle. I have seen many synths come out with tons of features YET none have that magical inspiring sound Roland Juno, Jupiter, Oberheim OBXA, Prophet 5 have. Forget all the extra features just give us THAT sound, fast Juno envelopes. and a decent arpeggiator!!! By the way Im not complaining about this synth i really like it!!! All synths are beautiful and have a unique sound!!! Just saying some of the classics from the 80’s had beautiful sounds as well but sometimes richer, warmer, less thin, and weren’t as confusing to program. Complicated synths get ignored at stores i see this all the time, synths should be easy to interact with.
This is basically a classic Juno (which was a single osc synth), with additions. The only reason those classics were so limited was because of the capabilities of the electronics of the day. Keep in mind the Juno series was a budget keyboard back then (I had a 106 and AJ2 at the time). The stuff modern manufacturers add causes only incremental cost. I don't think they would be massively cheaper with, say, no effects or fewer mod capabilities. Oberheim/Prophet: Dave Smith has gotten pretty close to those classics. You just have to be willing to pay for it.
A very good sounding synth indeed. However in every video I have seen I felt the operation is far less intuitive than in other synths that more or less have a classic analogue UI with knobs and such. I remember it can now be controlled like a VSTi plug- in - is that working correctly with let's say Ableton?
Bernhard, It is just like a classic analog synth, but with additions. If you want to use it like a classic Juno, just use the buttons and sliders on the board. It's very hands-on. It's only when you get into additional modulation and effects that you have to learn a few things. Don't let that put you off, though, because those are things the old synths didn't have at all.
this was a notch filter from the FX section controlled by ADSR envelope, combined with the analog lowpass filter controlled by the same ADSR :-) the modulation matrix makes it possible
Both worlds are different, and both are great. It depends of what are you looking for. For some sounds and styles, I prefer the sounding of a digital synth, and the same with an analog one.
Poll: Knobs or sliders? Which do you prefer, and why? Me? Knobs may provide more fine tune control for my hands and I think they're just more pleasing the eye....You?
Any experience if your great patches work on a deep mind 6? Get mine the next days. Can test it for you if you send me 1-2 sounds, after that i will buy the full bank ;)
So, are you pleased with DM6 ? I have an eye on one, how is it with half the poly ? Do complex patches need more voices, like, can you play the chords like in this video here ?
i love the DM6 , i took it because my space in the studio is low. But next time i would take a DM12 or the desktop. i plan to add a Desktop with 12 Voices. 6 are fine but the most of nice patches will be done with Unison -2 mode and this makes it more phaat. so you can play nice chords with the 6 voices of core but i recomend 12 voices ,so you have normaly 6 voices because the unison 2 is allmost used :-) that doesnt mean the DM6 is bad. i play a lot of nice basses with it, and 3 voice Chords ..i love the machine . but 6 voices are not so mutch, any how the raw sound also in non unison mode is realy nice and analog. and the price is fantastic.
Nice set. But as I've soon discovered, and what is obvious here with the DM12 by looking at the active voice yellow LEDs, is that in order to get some "meat' out of this single oscillator synth (no, that second oscillator is only a fancy but limited sub oscillator), you have to use Unison-2 mode most of the time, reducing polyphony by half. Not only that but, even if that gives you access to 2 oscillators (and 2 subs oscillators) per voice and is even possible to detune them via the Unison Detune parameter, you cannot set both oscillators on a different octave setting in this mode. For this reason (and a few others too), I've put the synth back in its box and replaced it with a Prophet REV2, which offers 2 fully controllable oscillators per voice with 16 voice polyphony. Granted the effects section of the REV2 doesn't match that of the DM12, but I've got external effects for that.
In the Mod Matrix, you can assign UNI VOICE (different from unison detune) to Osc 1 (or Osc 1&2) Pitch. So, if you want two saws one or more octaves apart, you can.
@@scoopicman Didn't know that. Thanks. But not quite as simple as dialing in different octaves with dedicated front panel knobs as on a real 2 oscillators machine, AND it takes up a slot in the Mod Matrix (although there are enough of them for almost any type sound).
exactly, UNI VOICE, it is not stated in the manual. You can route UNI VOICE to volume or other things. The mod matrix allows for most cases enough assignments, so I can live with that. The Oberheim Matrix-6/1000 has 9 possible assignments with is "Modulation Matrix"
@@AnalogAudio1 I also have an Oberheim Matrix6 (keyboard) that I use mainly/only as a MIDI controller for my DSI OB6 Module. It's the best way I could find to get a 5 octave keyboard OB6, and it happens to fit very nicely on top as if it was made to go there. ;-) I've never really liked the Matrix 6, partly because of the pain to program it (without any software, or hardware programmer), and partly because of some bug in the software which prevents free running of the oscillators and restarts them all in phase each time a note is pressed, no matter how the detune parameter is set.
an ordinary Matrix-6 should have free running oscillators, also the Matrix-1000. Otherwise there is a fault. My first Matrix-6 was a KB version as well, horrible keyboard, I wrecked 2 white keys in few years using aftertouch. Now I have the 6R. Programming on the unit is ok for me, a bit like the Poly-800. Of course knobs would be better

@@AnalogAudio1 the DM12 started life as a Juno-106 clone, hence it's front panel layout.
Clever use of the mod matrix makes it possible to simulate the Juno's BBD chorus and it sounds near identical to my old 106.
Sounds excellent!
Man this sounds really cool!!! and very synth retrowave, may you do a video playing a korg minilogue? Thankyou!!! and greetings from Colombia
thanks! Don't have a Minilogue. Greetings from Germany!
Camilo Calvo retrowave is a new genre imitating an old genre to an extent. Synthpop is what you’re after.
Great stuff. These sounds where the reason I bought a Deepmind. Not the terrible factory sounds ....
I love these sounds... 80's as fuck...
yes yes! ilove it!
ok great! I had no idea it had a notch filter in the effects.
a resonant filter switchable as lowpass/highpass/bandpass, controllable via LFO, envelope, and so on... via modulation matrix.
I got this sounds, realy great. I just can recomend them. The DM sounds realy nice with this.
thanks for your feedback :-)
For as much as people like to hate on Behringer, this seems pretty amazing. I'm not gonna lie, I saw it in a Sweetwater catalog and immediately wrote it off as a flash in the pan.
It looks sturdy too.... metal and wood. Can't be bad.
But that was built in England.
lol
Actually, Belfast. Northern Ireland is considered the UK as far as I know. Also the shipbuilder was English :).
+rudiger when the Titanic was built, there was no Uk
1:50 is heavenly
6:05 "Here Comes The Rain Again" or "Chorus".
I was able to take the "classic" Juno 60 patches and make them all work, but I hit a snag on the ones created with the resonance of the filter. Did you notice it is different from the old Juno 60?
yes, of course it is different from the Juno-60 :-) The Deepmind can't replace a Juno-60
Digiphex Electronics DM12 is not a juno clone.
AnalogAudio1 DM12 is much better.
not better, just different.
Stephen Wright “try”? It IS analog. Do some research.
I agree, the fact that the Deepmind has only square on the 2nd osc is the reason why I don't buy it.
But maybe the reason is that once they give us THAT sound we will no longer lust for anything else so they are possibly pushing everything else first.
Don't let that put you off, though, because those are things the old synths didn't have at all.
if it had that vintage roland chorus it would be perfect imo
well, it has a simulation of the "Roland Dimension D" Chorus, which I used in some of these patches, it sounds very nice
Behringer just made a stand alone Juno Chorud pedal
Joseph Wright now if they would only ship it
Great sounds and video demo.
thanks!
Sounds like classic analog with modern fx...
Alot of these remind me of 1984-esque Eddie Van Halen sounds! Anybody else hear it???
The Oberheim have a different filter and some architectural differences but its not too dissimilar
9:23 notch filter or phaser? nice sounds
this was a notch filter from the FX section controlled by ADSR envelope, combined with the analog lowpass filter controlled by the same ADSR :-) the modulation matrix makes it possible
4:20 great Bryan Adams
where is the purchase link?
There is a contact email, please read the video description and contact me to purchase.

Analog rules over Digital.
Both worlds are different, and both are great. It depends of what are you looking for.
For some sounds and styles, I prefer the sounding of a digital synth, and the same with an analog one.
Still avaible?
Yes of course, as stated in the description.
4:45 Oberheim Matrix 6!
Awesome!
Poll: Knobs or sliders? Which do you prefer, and why? Me? Knobs may provide more fine tune control for my hands and I think they're just more pleasing the eye....You?
Pots are more durable I think, but actually it does not make a big difference to me. I like the sliders on a Juno-60 as well as knobs on a Minimoog.
Will these patches work with the deepmind 12d module?
of course, it's just the desktop version
Any experience if your great patches work on a deep mind 6? Get mine the next days. Can test it for you if you send me 1-2 sounds, after that i will buy the full bank ;)
It's fully compatible, you just have half the polyphony
AnalogAudio1 that sounds great. Then i will order it. I was iritated, because some one here wrote that after the update it sounds diferent ;)
payed :-) thanks. my DM6 will come tomorrow, i give you an feedback :-)
@@scoopicman
Didn't know that.
@@AnalogAudio1
I also have an Oberheim Matrix6 (keyboard) that I use mainly/only as a MIDI controller for my DSI OB6 Module. It's the best way I could find to get a 5 octave keyboard OB6, and it happens to fit very nicely on top as if it was made to go there. ;-)
I've never really liked the Matrix 6, partly because of the pain to program it (without any software, or hardware programmer), and partly because of some bug in the software which prevents free running of the oscillators and restarts them all in phase each time a note is pressed, no matter how the detune parameter is set.
an ordinary Matrix-6 should have free running oscillators, also the Matrix-1000. Otherwise there is a fault. My first Matrix-6 was a KB version as well, horrible keyboard, I wrecked 2 white keys in few years using aftertouch. Now I have the 6R. Programming on the unit is ok for me, a bit like the Poly-800. Of course knobs would be better
