Thanks for all the thoughts and feedback! We're pretty pleased with how the performance turned out! Originally we were just going to do a run through of some sounds but, at the last minute, after talking to the Behringer team, it was agreed that we would actually do some songs, since there would ultimately be a million and one demo videos out there. So we had to choose 3 of our songs to strip down to a minimal synth and vocal part. It was quite terrifying, to say the least!
A really fantastic demonstration of the synth. What great sounds you pulled out of it! This is the best demo I have seen of it yet. Are you only using the on-board reverb? Because it is wonderful.
Also, good singing :)
Yes, just the on-board effects. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks again!
Thanks for the nice show, and also sharing your first impressions on the Deep Mind 12. I'm really looking forward for this synth!
Loved it - the synth, the voice, the stripped down, unrehearsed approach! I'll have to check out your other work.
This is the first time I heard of your band. You guys have this brilliant 80s' British pop sound that I love so much.
FINALLY! A video where REAL musicians are playing the synth. I am so sick of watching videos with non-musician-button-pushing-knob-twiddling-one-note-operators talking endlessly about specs. Its 2016. We know how to look up the specs ourselves. THANK YOU VILE ELECTRODES FOR PLAYING THE SYNTH AND SHARING HOW IT INSPIRED YOU !!! :) PS - I loved how you played with the parameters in real time incorporating them into the performance of the song. Bravo!
Great performance. And best demo of this synth so far.
Great performance, one great voice, one only (great) synth !
Respect !
Awesome! Best part of it: real musician on a real synthesizer.
I really liked that you could hear the different resonances of each voice at the end of the second song, even the voices that were in unison. Really cool that there was a stereo separation and it felt as if the envelopes were slightly different. Really neat orchestral sound to it.
never heard of them...now never forget them!!! Great chemistry between the synth and the incredible voice!!!! Well done!!
Thanks a lot :)
Such a great performance, so good to hear a synth played in a set of songs/tunes by a live band.
Thanks! :)
Great demo and performance.
Great little show, they have really nice chemistry and on stage familiarity. New fan right here
One day this synth will get the respect it deserves. Performances like this go so far towards that day
Love these wonderful people. And as a Juno 106 owner, love this synth :~)
Sounding good
Love it. The early 80's is back. Liking the synth too, good that the price is reasonable too IMO
Marvellous! Love the 'Trodes, love the synth's sound.
Strangely, a gig to remember, at least for me. Thanks for doing it.
I agree with the other comments: this demo sounds really good. I wish I wasn't already so sold on this synth!
Well done performance! Vocals sound so much better with an English accent. ;-) The last song was a good showcase for the DeepMind 12's arpeggiator. Thanks Vile Electrodes, thanks SS.
Fabulous demo and tunes. 😊 nice one!
Wonderful 13th voice...
wonderful demo, thanks!

That Neon girl f*cking rocks. Disappointed that isn't a red latex catsuit here, and no wolf's head either.
What a beautiful voice she has! She steals the synth the show. ;)
This is a clear buy!
Well, I guess that shows the differences people can have in what they consider beautiful. Personally, I couldn't make it to the two-minute mark. Which is disappointing, because from what I have heard so far, this new board may be a complete game-changer for analogue-lovers with not-so-deep pockets. From what I have heard this could replace all three of my vintage keys. Bearing in mind, I usually only play keys for writing, or personal recording in my studio-not so much live, as I am primarily a guitarist and bassist. But I think even I could fool 90% of a half-drunken audience with this new toy.
Agreed, she has a beautiful voice. The synth ain't too shabby either. :)
Great job, Bravo.
Behringer...take all my money. And Anais...just marry me.
Every day I regret selling my mint Juno 106 in 1992 for £80. I'm gonna get one of these to redeem myself.
Nice! I love her voice too. :)
Nice job guys! :-)
Wauw, thank you very much, that was fantastic :-)
That's pretty decent that the DM12 can shine like that in a solo arrangement... Count me in.
Oh, and Vile Electrodes ain't bad either ;)
Ok I dont know how to focus my thoughts and to write it down. A comment have to be short but million things are runnng through my head.First Unbelievable only one Synth no other Instruments or Percussion and the first song that they performed generate tears in my eyes its so impressive and it shows perfectly that Vile Electrodes didnt make music to earn money they make music for people like me. And they make music because they have to do its important for them like drinking and eating.I am so impressed and sorry if this comment turn into a novel. Some people think electronic music is easy to do, press one button and in a couple of minutes ready. This video shows what it is its work. Jane and Martin are really nervous and excited remarkable for such great Artists Thank you
ooooohhh man. that arp at 13:20 is yummmy.
As an amateur who occasionally does an open mic night I can appreciate what you have to go through to be your own sound crew and set up impromptu situations.
Respect to these 2 to being given a task to bundle a product demo into a performance and rolling with it. Nice to see the gear played and the controls on it used in the flow of entire songs beyond a few moments of plinking.
It's Vince Clark with his band Yazoo all over again lol. XD. Great sounding synth.
The one thing that's bugging me about the deepmind 12 is, that there is no saw wave for the second oscillator...
Genau DAS stört mich ebenfalls! // True story, bro... And another octave full of keys (61 instead of 49) would have been nice as well. But I guess this is what comes out as a result when economic students design a synthesizer that is supposed to stay inside a certain price range (in this case around 1.000 EUR or US-Dollars) by any means.
Das hat mich auch geärgert.
Nice.....and the behringer is also nice :)
This was a damn good performance! New fan. This synth is a no brainer!
The second synth I owned (many years ago) was a Juno 6, I knew that machine inside out, and this demo (to me anyways) sounds very much like that Roland ;/) I'd buy one !
Great performance! The synth sounds to me really good. Love it.
Sounds very roland. Nice.
That last arpeggio 16:19 reminded me of early Depeche.
All those artfully contrived sonically alluring teasers and then... this? Seriously?
Does it have PWM sawtooth, like the Alpha Junos?
whats the song @ 13:00 I might want to make a cover of the song - I love the text and one to sing it for the girl I love
cant wait till I get my hands on it.. sometimes in 2018 is my guess, they wont be able to produce enough of them
Yes, this is the only concern. Remember the Behringer Motor midi controller? I don't think they've shipped a single unit and it was announced over a year ago.
The motor keyboards were announced in January 2014
Hamudi2000 Was it that long ago? I don't know anyone who has one, my main shop Sweetwater still doesn't have the Motor. That scenario is my worry with Deepmind 12.
Yes it was, I wanted to the motor 61 in 2014 but I was tired waiting so I bought the Nektar Panorama P6 in the end and didn't regret it
13.00 Down in the park Numan.... this synth has good texture well done.
I used to want one.
Nice..
I Need that Synth in rack Version!! 👍
I hereby announce that I shall never again have second thoughts about selling my old Jupiter 6 for childcare. Onward, to double the voices!
No me queda claro. ¿Estamos presentando un sinte o a una chica que canta?
How to buy for Indonesia..
Hi Vile Electrodes, when you played and tested DeepMind, pasts 3 years. Now, Roland released Jupiter XM and I'm in dilemma, but first of all I'm sad that this synth is gone not so good in the synth crowd and the market. Why is that, because its Behringer? Very important for me and my band (not in obsessive way), that DeepMind is analog! Now I'm researching new digital Jupiter XM and X soon... it looks cool and have plenty interesting functions, sound is great, good synth - but, so expensive! If you have time to answer me on this question considering new released Roland Jupiter XM: Is it better to buy this analog and more money affordable but good synth DeepMind, or go chasing this new stuff just because its Roland, Korg, etc. just because they are more practical, smaller, built with better quality material, better screen than DeepMind, etc....??? Thanks in advance and you're great! Lejla, Evolucija Zvuka.
C'mon, am I the only one who thinks he could be Vince Clarke's younger brother? :)
Behringer needs to fix the way the sliders work so that they don't jump between values if you load a patch and the slider isn't near the loaded value. I hate those jumps.
But Christ, does this thing not sound great? This video dispelled any doubts I had.
Hey, thanks for the nice words. It does actually HAVE that functionality, but we've only had the prototype synth a very short time (with no manual) so forgot to use it. Well that, and the fact that doing songs instead of just doing a sound demo was a bit impromptu! :)
there's behaviour settings for the sliders. They can pick up when the slider passes through the setting or jump when touched. So you can set the behaviour how you want.
Awesome. I was hoping that was the case!
Lol!!! Nearly EVERY synth ever made works that way. Anything with presets that has knobs or sliders works that way. You must be new to synths.

If they don't sell a gazillion of these every banjo mart synth salesman should be fired.
Shame its only 4 octaves I would hope for at least 5.
wow, sound like a juno ! Doesnt it?
more like two junos in unison mode.
Agreed, especially the 3rd song.
Right buy
well done, especially on the last track...that arp is deliciously musical, reminds me of the whip the dw8000/juno-60 have on their arps. sold them synths as otherwise didn't do too much for me but those arps were lovely.
i ordered the deepmind, should arrive next week, for droney soundtrack work, 12 analog voices is ideal! mostly been using the dx7, polysix, k-station and virus so the behringer will be new(ish) territory.
also really enjoyed the singing, strong presence, tho' the intonation is a little too precise, losing some of the inherent musicality she naturally has in her voice, and the mouthful-word "proximity" was a bit jarring. just some friendly feedback :)
cheers for the really useful demo and all the best with the new album!
Kind of a light weight Alison Moyet with Vince and Yaz
thought all of this video was awful !! ... so today i checked out bands other videos.. and ..i actually really like their stuff. :) , this to me is a disaster of a show video though... dosn't do justice to them... still undecided about the synth...
sounds like a synth i used to know.....roland.. you have competition!
The wise man says, 'do not get single-finger player to demo poly synth'. One major or minor triad would have properly shown the character of the instrument rather than have to waste 18 mins of my life I will never get back.
Some chords would be nice.
Not sure if it's just my stream, but A/V is out of sync...
Otherwise a fantastic demo! So much more impressive than just going through menus and playing random sounds.
She needs a ride, ok np
Dear lord i might have some serious traumas after watching and hearing this horror. Synth sounds great, these to are something else.
Great band , respect for Vile Electrodes, but synth dont impres me, look so cheap.
did she REALLY have to sing? wtf...
did you REALLY have to comment? wtf...
Alan O'Connor i agree with him.
Good synth, but i don't know what this music is supposed to be.
James Reeno why pigeonhole it, music is music. I see it like a modern folk song.
lol...this was painful to watch.
it was??
So find some aspirin, maybe you'll also locate some manners.
Aside from a few awkward moments when they were speaking (due to nerves), I thought it was quite good.
maxcohen13 - Agreed. Irrespective of how difficult the world of duo outfits is, and no matter how many asprin one consumes in one sitting, this was a pretty rubbish first "outing" for the synth. Yours sincerely, etc...etc...
Angry gear heads united front, but this wasn't an "outing" for a synth, it was a performance by two musicians. Maybe that's what pisses some off, not enough knob twiddling and rambling on about LFOS.
Annoying Performance and senseless noodleling
I'm quite frankly a bit underwhelmed by this video. No doubt there's lots of talent and skill at work, but trying to make it both a regular performance and a synth demo, makes it kinda fail at both.
As a straight up performance it's too lightweight, not enough going on, no doubt an attempt to not drown the synth out.
And as a synth demo there's not enough different sounds and tweaking, and her voice dominates too much.
oh god the human voice can be so annoying.
all sorts of humans can be annoying..
Could you explain that further?
Sounds like shit, imho
