This so much. It - like many other aspects of Dragonball - gets glossed over so much. Krillen, a comedic side character, the butt of many jokes, short, weak, not particularly handsome, doesn't have a nose, died multiple times, didn't de-activate the androids when he could. A loser, many would conclude, ends up with a former 'villan' who is arguable _the_ hottest chick in the series, who's also thousands of times stronger than he is. When/where else/how often does something like this happen in anime? Such an unconventional and implausible pairing. It's always harems and shit nowadays, the stereotypical oh so great mc hooking up with the blatantly hottest prettiest girl around. Dragonball man.
Here after Akira Toriyama passed away. He made my childhood so much more fun. Had me doing Kamehameha at the most random places as a little girl. Thank you, my GOAT. Rest in peace.
I love how loyal he is. Even when he’s facing enemies that are more powerful than he can comprehend, he will still stand beside his friends and fight (usually to the death lol)
Krillin has gotten a recent surge in appreciation. Well deserved, too. Krillin was there since OG Dragon Ball and has consistently been funny, loyal and courageous despite all the shit they face. Also, the dude marries 18, has a kid with her and seemingly has the most stable relationship besides Gohan and Videl. How is he NOT the most beloved character besides Goku and Vegeta after all that!? LOL
Hell yeah love krillin and DBS gave him one of the best episodes and the lost respect he needed even though he was the first one to lose on Team universe 7 😅
Krillin was consistently my favorite character to watch in OG Dragon Ball, followed by Roshi and then Goku. It's a shame that he gets so ridiculously outclassed, because he really is an excellent fighter.
It's probably insignificant to most franchise fans, but my favorite moment with Goku is back in Dragon Ball, when he fights an old man and gets his ass kicked, and it turns out to be his grandfather. Goku turns from a fearless fighter to a vulnerable little kid for the first time in forever. He hugs grandpa Gohan and sobs, and it's the one moment in the whole franchise that chokes me up.
100% agree. The first time I saw goku start to cry and breakdown when he realized it was his grandpa, I lost it, too. Especially when he says in the english version "I looked for you everywhere!" It makes you think about those first days/weeks that Grandpa Gohan died, and Goku was a kid there just thinking his Grandpa went away for a bit, and not understanding he was gone forever. 30 years later, the only other Dragon Ball moment to ever choke me up was in Dragon Ball Super whenever Gohan realized that Trunks had come to him to ask for help in his future, but Trunks realized Gohan had a family and was happy, so he decided to leave that alone. Then when Trunks is leaving with Mai to go back to a different time line, Gohan rushes there as quick as he can to tell Trunks to be well, and Trunks sees his master Gohan again for the first time since he died in his own timeline, and he breaks down a little. It hit me hard.
kinda why I liked that fight to be honest...if goku just tied with him I would never care about that fight but up to that moment it was the biggest battle of the series truly as others had to help which we saw briefly vs raditz but only piccolo helped there...the frieza stuff also allows some teamwork but it works caus eit is just one on one again for the fate of the world...not sure how you top that and while the ideas after are interesting they don't really do much with it so the show feels lamer the more it goes on besides the whole goku gohan dynamic which was done well but then immediately thrown aside in the buu arc
I'd argue Cell does have character. He was exceptionally good at attacking the main character's weaknesses. It was less that Cell was whining to Vegeta to let him absorb the androids and more that he was exploiting his main weakness. His pride. And he attacked Gohan's weakness of wanting to protect his loved once by attacking them, in order to draw out his power.
attacking weakness isnt a character. he has about the same personality and motivation as the androids (they might have more than him actually). now if they fleshed out his desperation for perfection then he'd have character, but as Cell stands he's more of a theme or obstacle than an actual character. most dbz villains didnt have an actual character. unless you count vegeta. zamasu is probably the villain that has been given the most amount of depth ironically considering super is pretty average compared to Z
@@PaintedHoundie Absolutely not Goku Black's character was so badly executed and has no real substance. Cell not being a "character" actually makes his character even ebtter by correlating to the main theme of his character. I don't know why him not necessarily being a "character" means that Zamasu gives the most amount of "depth" when he literally has no real dynamics with any character and his character felt rushed if anything. The only thing he has is a goal but as I said there was no real substance to it and no redeeming qualities that made his "goal" understandable to say the least. His hypocrisy was so forced and again just lackluster so I really would love to see you elaborate on how his character had depth, let alone more than Cell.
@@lightninginqc7837 not gonna lie, i honestly dont know what youre trying to communicate with me right now. and it sounds like your bias is clouding your judgement a little bit. i like Cell better than Zamasu, but that doesnt for a second mean Zamasu doesnt have depth to him. its not hard to figure out what Zamasu's archetype is, and a god gone rogue, misunderstanding why gods are supposed to be impartial because hes a young and naive diety, sees mortals like goku as a threat is interesting. Super is just kind of a weak series in general that rehashes a lot of stuff they already did so they didnt execute it well. you trying to tell me Cell's lack of character makes that technically a character in and of itself is a terrible argument. Z is a better put together show than Super, and Cell has more iconic moments, but when im talking about what character has more depth, im talking about it from a storytelling/narrative view, and not just what i like more.
@@lightninginqc7837 Cell is not a deep character and most Dragon Ball characters arent, besides Vegeta. and that goes double for villains. and you guys might be conflating being a compelling villain with being a deep one. just because a villain serves as an interesting foil, or is good at being a villain/menace does not mean a villain is deep. Frieza is one of the best villains made in an anime, but there is no depth to him. hes a tyrant that runs a pirate org/slash empire that sells land to other buyers. he was born privaleged and went unchallenged till goku came along, and thats pretty much it. it is interesting that he is essentially the catalyst of the beginning of the series, but thats not the same thing as the character itself being deep. and Cell is in the same boat. he is a parasite with a conscious, he has the same goals as a virus, except he can think. his motivation for perfection is not played with in any interesting way, and is just another scary villain that needs to be stopped lke every other villain in Z.
Texas Dice I remember when I first started watching the buu arc and watching Mr. Satan and by the time the buu arc finished, I was tryna find mr satan figures lol
@@Ash_10005 to include Kaioken as base is a bit misleading though, as it takes such a toll on the body, and is a technique Goku has to properly concentrate to use. Similarly to how Piccolo wasn't as strong as Raditz, yet managed to kill him with the Makankosappo by concentrating his ki, base Goku wasn't as strong as base Vegeta, but managed to amplify his ki for a short while to do some damage.
The reason Naruto had a timeskip is because Kishimoto was getting warn down keeping up with deadlines, so he wanted to redesign the characters to make them easier to draw. The timeskip was mostly just an excuse to do this in a natural way.
Personally, I think most people prefer the cell saga because it's a perfect conclusion to Dragon Ball. 1. Goku finally accepts death as he knows he's the catalyst for most of these bad things happening 2. Gohan fills his father's shoes as the strongest fighter 3. The last of the Red Ribbon army is finally vanquished 4. Kami and Piccolo finally become one again after so many years of being apart 5. Almost every side character gets a cool moment 6. Vegeta fully redeems himself by fighting Cell in an attempt to avenge his dead son 7. Super Saiyan becomes perfected.
pretty much. and if not that, then it could have been the start of something new. but alas, people just wanted the series to continue, toriyama had no idea how to write gohan as protagonist and fans moaned about goku coming back or riot. and thus,we ended up with more of the same stuff
it was mostly the imperfect cell moments that i didn’t really like. Cell wasn’t an interesting villain. Mostly because all of his good aspects are taken from Freiza
The whole Avengers endgame was based on dragonball. Friends go on an adventure to collect magic stones so they can wish people back to life, sounds familiar?
Hendri Turaswa well i guess he took the concept of sending the protagonist to earth before his homeplanet got destroyed from DC. So i guess he liked comics
The infinity war stones were introduced in Marvel comics long before dragonball existed. So no, endgame was not based on dragonball lol Also on the subject, Goku was based on Superman, an alien that crashes on Earth with amazing abilities, who finds out who he really is as an adult.
Despite Vegeta's sacrifice, Goku vs Vegeta rematch and Goku screaming for a damn long time and turning into ssj3 i don't remember anything else that was worthy to mention about the buu arc tbh
@@nextin_dabuilding2908 the majins weren't good villains, mystic gohan wasn't as interesting and cool as ssj2 Gohan, Gotenks was a really stupid fusion that does nothing else then being comic and Vegito was just a fusion with earrings, nothing really special and different from the dance fusion
Actually, his hair was always blue. It got changed in the colored manga and the anime, of course. They just chose to correct that in the Super anime, I guess... weird now that I think about it
Honestly I feel more like Trunks is the only other justified Super Saiyan transformation in the series, Gohan’s death was absolutely heart wrenching because you knew it was coming and Trunks felt responsible for it.
No, Goku's Super Saiyan transformation was justified too. Goku arguably loves Krillin more than he loves his own family, so ofc he would fly off the wall at Krillin's death.
I Am The Master Baiter I never said it wasn’t, I’m just saying that the only ones who had a justified transformation was Goku and Future Trunks (Cabba too ig but it felt kind of rushed)
I agree with most of your statements, but I think you bashed a little too hard on Cell for bitching around and begging Vegeta to let him transform again. He kind of made it in a clever way by going for Vegeta's pride and desire to fight strong opponents. He knows this because he is part Vegeta himself. In addition, did you remember when Frieza was put into place by Goku in his 50% form? He also cried around like "damn.....just let me power up to 100% and I beat the shit out of you" ........that's exactly the same thing Cell did. Only criticise Cell for this but not Frieza seems a bit unfair. Furthermore, Frieza cried like a Baby when cut into pieces by his own attacks, begging Goku to let him live..... Don't get me wrong.....I don't want to say Frieza sucks or is equal to Cell (characterwise). I also think Frieza is the best-written villain in DB history, but I see Cell for the concept which he and his Character is: Cell is the embodiment of the greatest foes the Z-Fighters had to overcome, including themselves. And all the Z-Fighters fail to due so because Cell kind of always knows how his opponents tick, so he strategizes around this and finally Gohan is the one who overcomes not only Cell himself but every other fighter we know.
Canon manga wise Cell pretty much gave up and lost control of himself after Gohan punched him like twice which is what I hate the most about his character, just a big bully with no fight and grit. Sure Vegeta and Frieza were all bullies but at least they pushed on until the very end. As great as the story was during Cell arc, his character and his arc is played out by OP power ups. Once a character get a power boost, they stormed everybody else. Beside the ending point that is the Kamehameha battle, I don’t think there was an even fight the entire arc beside minor fights like Piccolo vs Cell or 17 vs Piccolo, either Z fighters stomped Cell or Cell stomped the Z fighters, there was that one Goku vs Cell fight but its only a build up for Gohan vs Cell. In Saiyan saga, there was Goku vs Vegeta and then Krillin, Gohan, Goku collective effort against Vegeta. And Frieza saga there was Goku and everybody vs Frieza and then SSJ Goku vs Frieza. Buu saga there were Gotenks vs Super Buu, Goku vs Kid Buu and then pretty much everyone against Kid Buu.
@@onemore512 i hated Cell in the anime, but Cell in DBZA is amazing. The Cell Saga/Arc(ep32-60) contains everything the show has and is better than it(30 Years of hindsight does that). You could watch DBZA and any English dub and details are basically the same and you woild be caught up in the same way DBZA does Cell Perfect by his ending. Unlike the original where he thought he couldn't die because he was perfect, in DBZA, he accepted it. He didn't care. Because he travelled each and every highway. But more.Much more than that. He did it his own way. He achieved his perfection and got the fight he wanted,, he wanted nothing more. The perfect life for him
I know the buu saga isn’t the best, but for me it felt like it finally wrapped up vegetas character arc. With him trying to be evil but realising it’s not what he wants, he even fuses with one of the people he hates most and of course the ending of him finally swallowing his pride and respecting goku for being better than him. But super kinda messed it all up as there was no where really to go with vegetas character afterwords.
And this is how Goku actually encourage a fight between cell and Gohan as well, he knew that cell is a part of him, and he knows that he has an itching desire to fight rediculuosly strong opponent to test his own ability. He kept on about how Gohan is gonna beat cell, he even go as far as to give cell a senzu bean to reclaim his strength. Cell in my opinion is the Z fighters fighting against the flawed versions of their selves, so Goku doing this was almost like he was fighting himself and that was the point where cell had actually started to loose, because he accepted the challenge, and ironic enough,Goku learned a lot about himself through cell, but it wasn't him alone, vegeta ,krillin ,picollo , Gohan being one of the main ones, all learnt something about themselves. That's why I love the Android saga because in terms of story, it's just as good as the namek saga, maybe not in terms of villains, but in terms of character writing,it's solid there as well, but I agree with what they said about the namek saga as well.
@@onemore512 what would you expect him to do at that point? Which villain doesn't lose control after losing? Pain lost it too. Doffy lost it too everyone
I believe Krillins first death in early Dragon Ball changed everything and I think the timeskip after he started training with Kami was the time it truly became Dragon Ball Z and changed from a gag manga. - The plot changed - Goku became the worlds saviour - The training intensified - Death was introduced - The tone of the manga was more adult
@@MetalMadness_00 I think they meant it was the point where that Z formula really took hold. The Red Ribbon Army still had Dragonball's gag manga roots. Ninja Murasaki? Commander Red's wish? The Great Demon King Piccolo did NOT fuck around, and it was the first time the series took a truly serious tone.
@@MetalMadness_00 it started shifting towards that direction with the 21st world tournament. piccolo daimao was where the roots of z took hold, and z itself it marked by goku no longer being able to defeat the main villain by himself
Straight up? The only arc in all of dragonball that doesnt fit alongside each other is the first one where its almost all comedy. everything after that is more action based.
The Cell saga is good too because it realizes the hero arc of Gohan, that finally can compete with adult warriors. The Majin Bu arc screws everything with kindergarten super sayans and Gohan regressed to a complete idiot
No the entire point of the cell arc was goku realizing that he shouldn't be forcing gohan to fight when he clearly doesn't want to. I would argue this shock would have been good if goku fully relying on gohan wasn't comeptley out of character to begin with. Goku is all about pushing his limits and becoming stronger and seeing as he could easily have reached super sayain2 and he basically choose not to so gohan would have fought cell is just such a huge change in goku's character to the point where it's not believable. Now the majin buu saga did this change much better where goku could have finished off majin buu while he was playing around but instead choose to rely on the kids because goku doesn't stop training or prevent himself from becoming stronger to pass down the shield on too them. However this entire scene is ruined by the fact that he learned trying to force a 9 year old to fight was stupid . At least this one was slightly less stupid as it was 2 7 year olds that actually wanted to fight but it contradicts the lesson he was supposedly have learn in the cell saga. At least the majin buu saga doesn't end contrdacting the lesson goku learned in cell saga with gotenks actually winning like gohan in the cell saga did and with goku actually having to finish it.
@@Inviabledude45I thought the main idea of the cell arc was gohan can easily surpass his father however downgraded as fans still wanted goku to be the main character plus goku only really made gohan fight as gohan could easily have finished off cell, yet not wanting to fight cell provokes him, also imo gohan is almost just as responsible because as soon as he was at his Super Saiyan state gohan decided that he wanted to play around with cell, even though it was clearly obvious that Gohan was leagues above Cell, which as a result caused Cell to get a power boost and be slightly or just greatly stronger than Gohan
@@kvngjaygamez2570 and yes and the entire moral of that was not to entrust the faith of the world into a 9 year old kid. Goku could have easily trained and surpass cell but instead try and forced into his son who never wanted to fight. He fought because he had to but in the cell saga he didn't have to. Goku could have just as easily trained with vegeta and the training for him would have been far more effective. Picclo even tells goku he was stupid for doing so and the entire arc for goku was that he shouldn't have done it and gohan struggling for his father mistake. Than comes buu arc and throws that character development out the window when goku says ah let the kids do it. I just find it funny that it threw that character development away but did the character development better as in this one goku entrusted it to both goten and trunks instead of one 9 year old and both goten and trunks unlike gohan didn't like fighting. They fail as a result of goku trying to pass the flame to early and as a result goku has to come in and finished off the main villain instead of entrusting the world into underage kids that shouldn't be fighting these monsters in the first place. I mean its even more in goku's character than the cell arc because goku didn't limit his own growth in power like he did in cell which is just character assaitantion as goku would never do that.
@Matheus Gazotto The one from a powerful coward to a true hero, someone who doesn't like to fight as much as his dad, but knows that sometimes, you have to fight to protect what you care about That is, before they massacred his character from the Buu arc forward

Marcus is just trying to make it seem like every villain after Frieza is boring and bland, but he completely misunderstands most of the villains that it's honestly astounding to me.
nah freiza has a better personality because he is significant in the plot he’s the one who kilt all the saiyans and destroyed planet vegeta also he has ties with beerus
@@plasticsand9370 Well, (Perfect) Cell is more begging for attention and he likes to be out in the open while Frieza just wants to rule the universe while sitting in his chair while in his 1st form. Cell likes to be more direct and open. I would also state that compared to Frieza, Cell is calmer and more laid back. Frieza wanted immortality and wanted to rule the universe forever while Cell just wanted to test his perfect powers and prove to everyone that he is the most powerful creature in the universe by doing the damage himself. Also, Cell was willing to kill himself if it meant also blowing up the planet and everyone on it just so Gohan, Goku, and everyone else died along with him, and not even Frieza would do that. Frieza destroyed Namek and felt content with it because he knew he could survive in space. He knew it was still possible for him to survive, while Cell had no idea he would live and was okay with dying if it meant the others died with him. That shows me Cell is more daring than Frieza and is willing to take more risks. Also, unlike Cell, Frieza doesn't care about fighting strong warriors, and he doesn't have a thrill for battle like Cell does. Frieza does love torture, but torture and battle are different things. He just doesn't want people getting in his way. Frieza didn't try to force Goku to get mad and get stronger by doing so like Cell did with Gohan.
For those who don't know and part of what made the Saiyan arc so great was that Goku was in fact far weaker than Vegeta in their fight with the Kaioken helping to close the gap between them but ultimately still losing creating some awesome dramatic tension. It also offered Vegeta a frustrating and reality hitting experience that such a low class warrior could push him so far but still took the combined efforts of Krillin, Gohan and Yajirobe to take him down.
Mega Wave The Saiyan Saga as a whole was just amazing. It had superb character development, great writing, and several memorable moments. It’s easily one of DB’s greatest sagas !!
I love how they had a lack of fighters in the Frieza saga, it just shows how you gotta rely on the weaker/other fighters to go exploring. Meanwhile in the cell saga, everyone is alive and the weaker fighters now stay in the back of the line....rip yamcha
I've always been of the opinion that the hardcore anime elitists who say Dragon Ball is a "normie anime" and thus not worth watching are just flat out wrong. The reason it is so popular not just in Japan, but here in the West too, is because it is legitimately one of the best, most influential, and fun anime you will EVER watch. It is fantastic and well worth anyone's time, even if you aren't an anime fan. It was my first introduction to anime when I was i kid, now i have hundreds of gigabytes of anime and manga on my computer. If nothing else, it is an excellent gateway drug.
I forgot where I saw this comment a few weeks ago but someone pointed out that people say DB (whole series) is predictable but it's been spoiled to death. Seeing Goku's brother letting everyone know he's an alien who was supposed to destroy earth, every other saga unfold would be insane to someone experiencing it for the first time. Vegeta's sacrifice and arc, cell absorbing everyone, etc. Great classic, worth checking out.
Yeah, but the reason people have much respect for Krillin is that 18 was so out of his league. It's totally plausible a guy like Vegeta could get a woman like Bulma.. or even Goku getting a woman like Chi Chi for that matter.
He is a pioneer of some sort, he started the vegeta syndrome. Actually picollo started, but nobody gives a fuck about classic dragon ball, lol it became a trope of the genre, the antagonist who become a anti-hero / companion later.
Well, and they did need a little time to give Sakura some relevant skills. Because she couldn't have had any of those when she was introduced... And because her skills then mattered so much in Shippuuden
i think the reason Naruto started out as kids and had a timeskip was to just improve the skills quickly so they could fight the Akatsuki closer and not be wiped out so easily...a group that was clear filler forced by toei and shonnen jump on kishi to continue the series so it ran longer..notice how they don't exist prior to over 100 chapters into the story..i wonder why...oh cause their irrelevant fodder who don't add much to the story as a group...but yeah it needed a timeskip..it didn't really need a second but it had that too..smdh..which i hate @@Vohalika
yeah but it still was just death, it wasnt almost gore like some of the kills in z were, sure Krillin was killed in db but he wasnt exploded into a thousand pieces or killed by a ki blast leaving a massive hole on his chest xd (yes goku was left with a big hole in his fight with Piccolo but he did survive, unlike his fight against Raditz).

The manga and kai have much better pacing. The Freeza fight is such a slog in the original anime. Five minutes should not take two hours. Kai fixes all of the pacing issues.
@@ace_wash8363 Freeza v Goku is terribly pased in the original anime, regardless of how fast they were going. Kai does have its fair share of issues though, but if you're a dubbie, most of them are worth it from what I can tell.
Well, the fight in the original is better overall, and it's longer. Kai may be more faithful to the manga and have better pacing, but the fight itself isn't as good as the one in the original.
I think the series should have ended with the Cell Saga. I agree that the story was getting a little sloppy but the ending was so satisfying! It left me with no questions and it just felt so complete
The ending of the Cell arc is a MUCH better ending than the Frieza one. The cell arc was all about family and essentially fighting one's self (since Cell was an amalgamation of the z fighters). It's a poetic ending that passes the torch to the next generation. Gohan will be earth's protector with Trunks coming up under him the way Goku did with his dad. Vegeta learns to love his family, Goku finally allows himself to pass on, Trunks goes to his future and rights the wrongs, and Gohan, the most powerful living sayian, is a child who's only gonna grow from there. Would have been a great ending
@@iansmart4158 totally agree. Frieza saga is the best Z saga but Cell saga ending really leaves you completely satisfied, especially watching Goku dying and Gohan, angry and blameful, taking the torch and becoming the strongest ever. So dramatic, so great. Unfortunately Cell saga had a very boring plot
@@iansmart4158 I think it comes across as organic to western fans because it fits a particular mold that Hollywood tends to follow, as well as the dub trying to re-frame this series as a superhero story where these characters take on a mantle to protect the Earth (even though it's more like they're just looking for greater battles and that the Earth gets saved as a consequence and because it's their home), but it wasn't actually something set up that way. In a scene right before his battle with Cell, it's re-established that Gohan still wishes to become a scholar when he gets older rather than continue fighting, and that he must deal with Cell if he can follow through with his aspirations. It was never about passing a torch. Toriyama only teased with that idea later on in the middle of the Boo arc, only to back away from it after realizing that Gohan, a character who was born special and owes most of his strength to his innate powers being drawn out with ease, doesn't really work as a main protagonist of a Chinese wuxia-inspired series about bettering yourself through hard work (worth noting that fans complaining had nothing to do with it, and was just old magazine/internet rumors).
What makes me like the Frieza saga more then what came after. No stupid decisions that to advance the plot. No constant debates over powerscaling Vegeta sounded more like a prince back then and isn't so obnoxious. Super Saiyan feels new and fresh. Goku gives the best ass kicking moments. It also has my favourite Kikuchi tracks
@@AlexanderDiviFilius Gohan couldn't even scratch Toppo in his Mystic state, while Goku was able to overwhelm him and even greatly damage him just in Blue, without the Kaio Ken, and was not even out of breath once the fight was over. Toei treaded the DBZ Charakters better whan Torijama. In the Manga Lunch just dissapeared, in the Anime, she leaves Tien, after he startet too be annoyed about her. @@Sunaki1000 that doesn't make it better. What does Lunch showing up in episode 30 leads to? Nothing. They explicitly mentioned in the manga that she had ran off somewhere and that's it, don't tell me she is more interesting than deeper characters we got in Z like Gohan, Trunks or fucking Vegeta. Dabra thing was filler and don't even sit well with his honorable character who tried to take on Fat boo himself after he sensed that boo can be a threat to them. Garlic Jr. Wasn't bad but again it's not necessarily good. It creates timeline inconsistency since the movie happens when the cast are aware of Gohan whereas in Z the moment the cast meets Gohan, raditz shows up, see? Its fine but it drags the show. Though I do agree that the Sayan and the Frieza saga were very solid and well put together, I do not think ending it there would have done justice to Gohan's character arc. He had a hidden power that needed to be unveiled, and I felt the Cell Saga executed that very well. The story should have ended after Cell's death.
a big part of what makes the freeza arc so important is how it connects gokus history and piccolos aka the 2 strongest and important characters by the end of the first part of the manga ..goku becomes the ssj avenging his people on piccolos home planet vs the tyrant who started this show after finding balls to wish people back to life and because piccolo sacrificed himself all of this was possible..its brilliant...then we get time travel and robots and created man children and im like okay...wtf happened to this smart series..its like it was written for young kids again after getting so dark earlier...too many plotholes to count.....
Frieza was OP until goku attained super saiyan. Cell is interesting because he uses his knowledge of vegeta to play on his desire for competition in order to achieve his goal. In other words he ain't to proud to beg
Plus Cell's transformation tactics are just weird and cool. and he had to be smart in a way Frieza never did. Cell was a genius as well as a fighting machine.
But that’s why Cell never feels like a threat. He’s just kinda a thing you gotta keep a lid on. Frieza on the other hand was the kind of guy you hope he never knew you even existed.
Guess what? Frieza is almost the biggest threat on everything cell isn't even that much of a threat as long as ur not an idiot same goes to Kid Buu and Super Buu and Majin Buu,But when its on frieza it's a different story for frieza he has no mercy doesn't care if ur a kid or and at the same time he's rlly smart for example Goku sent Goten and trunks to fight Buu but when it's frieza he won't even let them watch that's how big of a threat frieza rlly is...
Yeah. At the end of the Namek Saga, all you have is Goku at Super Saiyan. Not saying that wasn’t the best moment in the entire series, but what about Gohan? Where’s his realization as a character? And Piccolo fusing with Kami? And without the Cell Saga, you don’t get Trunks, one of the best characters in the entire franchise.
Yea I recently watched the original z but not the Kai version. So there was all the filler, and bro. The frieza arc is paced so slowly. It was borderline unwatchable during some of the later fights.
I think Naruto's timeskip was a good choice. The young characters were still too powerful for their age, but at least it was a little more believable than if they had all still been pre-pubescent children. It also added some new unknowns about the character that were fun to explore or added some more depth. That's not to say that the timeskip was super well done and the other examples weren't better - but it was still a better story than without it.
@Wrath Incarnate Naruto's goal isn't really meant to change until SPOILERS Jariya's death because Naruto was always immature and despite his childhood being depressing he remained up beat. Losing Jariya is the first thing that tells the character about casualties of war and him inheriting Jariya's will for peace is what drives Naruto to become Hokage for more than just recognition.
Good to come back to this video to now remember how impactful Toriyama truly was. Such a strong and everlasting mangaka, and an amazing tribute video to his definitive work.
Actually the structure of the Cell saga is perfect in my opinion. It's about father and son relationship. It opens with Freeza and his father coming back. Trunks, Vegeta's son, came from the future to observe how his father he never knew was such a selfish prick. Goku, had to confront the fact that he's... actually a pretty bad dad and that Gohan never wanted to be like him. The fact that Gohan wore Piccolo's clothes to Cell fight is very symbolic. The structure is very well thought out. Every character pay for underestimation of their opponent. Cyborg Freeza underestimated Trunks, cyborg 19 and 20 underestimated Vegeta, Vegeta underestimated Cyborg 17 and 18, Cyborg 17 and 18 underestimated Cell, Cell 2nd form underestimated powered up Vegeta, powered up Vegeta underestimated Cell 3rd form, Cell 3rd form underestimated Gohan, Gohan overestimated himself over cell 3rd form who blew himself up with his dad, Gohan came to his sense and win. I don't see how it's more perfect than that.
Yeah but that’s not actually the structure of the show you’re talking about. You’re talking about theming. Sure, a series can have a bunch of symbolism and reoccurring themes, but if the narrative isn’t consistent in tone and writing, and if the story doesn’t have good pacing, it’s not a well structured story. That’s not to say the Cell Saga is bad, but it doesn’t feel consistent in tone, and a lot of stuff just seemed like it was made-up as the story continued, like there was no true plan for how the series was gonna turk out. Now in the Cell Saga these issues are minor at worst. It’s in the Buu saga that it really just feels like they had no idea what they wanted to do with it when they were writing it. And while that makes for some fun moments and concepts, like fusion and stuff like that, it’s not how you write a cohesive narrative. Luckily the Cell Saga doesn’t have too much of this.
@@Da_Swifta toriyama is well known to make shit up as he goes, and the android saga pretty much marks the start of him getting sick with writing dragon ball

Wow you really did my man Cell dirty. I don't know if I would go as far as to say he's better than Frieza, but he's by no means a bad or boring villain. In fact I would say he would've been the perfect way to end the series. He's literally the combination of every main hero and villain of the series (Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza) Giving him both the abilities and personalities of all of them. At first he is cautious and tactical, not picking fights that he knows he can't win. He absorbs enough people so that he's confident that he can absorb the androids and gain his perfect. Once he becomes perfect, his inner Frieza, Vegeta and Goku come out because he has become the best and he knows it. However, he doesn't just go out and kill all the ZFighters and destroy the planet (like Frieza would), he decides to hold a tournament and give the heroes ten days to prepare. This is because (like Goku) he wants to fight them at their strongest and prove that he is without a doubt the best. That and the fact that it gives some closure to Gohan's hidden power and story, the Cell Saga is the best way to end the series. A culmination of all of their hardships and ultimately a passing of the torch to the next generation (though ultimately Goku comes back and that's all undone).
I agree completely 100%. Goku vs Frieza is hands down my favorite fight but the android/Cell saga is my favorite saga because of everything you said, and more shit like Vegeta's character development and getting to witness him finally achieve Super Saiyan out of his pure lust to surpass Goku as if his life depended on it, and also the mind-blowing storyline and concept of time travel that Toriyama put together. It was plot twist after plot twist, and there were so many moments where you thought you finally understood what was going on and then boom, you didn't know anything at all. And then Gohan taking over for Goku as savior of earth came as a huge surprise and made for a great passing of the torch as we see him unlock his full hidden potential. Lastly, I want to mention Piccolo reuniting with Kami as a crucial point of not just the saga but the whole series. It was the greatest thing to ever happen to TV. What's crazy is the Saiyan and Namek/Frieza sagas are just as good in their own ways. DBZ is a masterpiece.
Cell sucked Donkey dick he was a throw away character just like goten trunks and all the androids. They were all created to keep the money train going that added nothing to the series and they are all forgettable.
Buu is great imo. He’s basically what happens if a godlike toddler throws temper tantrums. I like how in order to actually tame him Mr. Satan befriended him. Then adult buu is just so pure evil and sadistic I love him, and kid buu is all primal and just screams and punches himself.
I mean sure you could say the animation is trash, (because of the schedule) You could say some fights last too long, and the writing is shit and so is most if not all the characters, the fights are mainly copy and paste, theirs barely any unique fighting styles, and a lot of things BUT it is still enjoyable 😊
Okay, listen. I agree with most of your points. But saying Cell and Buu have no personality..? Dude, I have literally no idea where you got that. I mean, compared to Frieza, yes, I don't think they're as good. But at the very least give Cell some credit. Especially his first and perfect forms. Semi-perfect I'll admit was kind of lame, but the first and last forms of Cell? Imperfect Cell is a disgusting, disturbing, absolute terror. His introduction is a sea of emptied clothing as he goes from town to town slaughtering people to add to his own strength. Perfect Cell is a monster in his own right, rarely killing anyone just because of how full of himself he is, and rightfully so. He _makes a tournament_ for the sole purpose of seeing if anyone on the planet is actually capable of taking him, and he doesn't even expect to use his full power. Hell, until Gohan goes Super Saiyan 2, he _isn't_ using his full power. He's a smarmy, self-absorbed madman who pulls a Frieza and toys with the entire planet for fun. Some of these are definitely taken from Frieza, but you have to realize that some of what you complained about was _also_ taken from Frieza. All that whining he did? Frieza did that too. He breaks when he realizes he's losing. Also, Frieza doesn't drink people, or obsess over perfection. He's also missing one of Cell's best traits, which he takes from Goku: He enjoys fighting. Cell, like the Saiyans he's made from, loves a good challenge, hence why he doesn't kill Trunks, or Vegeta, or hell even Krillin. He lets everyone go, gives them 10 days, and holds a tournament. Buu, I'll let you have. Admittedly he does have some personality, but it's mostly just childish destruction with Fat Buu, moronic insanity with Super Buu, rehash of Cell's more boring traits with Buutenks/Buuhan, and childish destruction amped up to 11 with Kid Buu.
I appreciate what you wrote about cell, but about buu you´re forgetting something. Buu has personality. Especially Fat Buu. First, he was just a tool for destruction used by Babidi. He is just following orders (for food). After he betrayed his master, he starts to developing: enter Mister Satan! Buu is childish, yeah, but not destructive. He just doesn´t know something different. Do you remember the scene with this blind boy? (even if it is filler, i am not sure about that, but anyway thats a great scene). Buu was used to the fact that everyone was afraid from him. Until he met this blind boy. So Buu heals him and was expecting that the boy is now afraid like everyone else. He is so pleasantly surprised, that he offers candy to the boy. And don´t let me start about the part with the dog. He started to caring for a dog! And a human, who he has mostly eaten before. That is more character (and character development) that Cell ever had.
I agree that Frieza is the best arc, but i wouldn't necesarily say it would be a good conclusion. Since the beginning of Z to the end of frieza saga is hinted that Gohan has a hidden strenght and that he might even be stronger than Goku. And thats not fully explored until cell saga. So ending on Frieza wouldn't be fully satisfactory
Actually it could have ended there the same way it actually ended. Z ended with uub being seen as the future protector of earth, in my opinion the Z ending with Gohan as the future would have been better.
@@knight-mares but ubb was introduced at the very last episode just to put some kind of excuse for goku to disappear again lol. Apparently Naruto and Jiraiya spent the time skip perving on girls trying to bathe while Sasuke was the only one actually training. I loved and enjoyed most of this review, and generally agree with most of your reviews, but the point on Cell seems a bit like you missed the point. Or maybe you did see the point, but just didn't like it much anyway(which is fine) He starts out almost as this horror story/slasher villian at the start(which is when he has the most personality), but slowly morphs into more of a concept than a true character: He's the culmination of everything Goku(and the Z-fighters) had to surpass up to that point. Cell is essentially the vehicle in which they attempted to put Gohan over as the new main character. By overcoming the representation of everything that the Z-fighters have beaten up to that point(and killing off Goku), they try to show us that Gohan is the new main character, and is worthy of the status as Earth's hero that Goku held up to that point.
I really disagree with trunks undermining SSJ at all. His presence was all mysterious. And if anything I honestly think Gohan's SSJ2 is the best SSJ arc.
The only thing I wish that would have happened was Ki was known as an earth technique It would have definitely made the series a lot more interesting seeing as the earthlings had a leg up on all these other people

@Jay veeru Z force For me the fucked power scaling in dragon ball super just ruins the whole experience, especially with kale and caulifla,But otherwise it was pretty good ( not as good as z but still good )
nothing will convince me that frieza wasnt the intended finale of the series. the protagonist fulfills a thousand year old prophecy, locked in a duel to the death with the evil emperor of the universe on a dying planet, with BOTH sets of the TITULAR dragonballs being INTEGRAL to the plot? come ON. on that topic, great video, but one thing you could have touched on more is how the dragonballs really take a back seat after the frieza saga, despite being the TITLE. (also tho i agree with everything you say about frieza, i felt you were a tiny bit harsh on everything that comes after)
Can't imagine the Dragon Balls taking a backseat in the story before the Android saga? I guess you never watched Dragon Ball then. You know, before they added the 'Z' at the end of the title? The prophecy was only introduced after the Saiyan saga. What's actually been set up since near the beginning of the show was Gohan's hidden power, which doesn't payoff until the Cell saga. Toriyama may have thought about ending the series prior to that, but he would've definitely left some loose ends.
@@exequielbreton4393 Right, but I don't remember it being established as a prophecy before the Frieza saga. I've even come across someone who said that the original conversation between them was about mixed Saiyans becoming more powerful than pure bloods.

Krillin was my favorite character as a kid. He was so awesome in Dragonball and the early parts of DBZ before they gave him a hair transplant and abandoned him completely.
Gonna be real, from a design perspective I think Bug Cell was way more intimidating than his later forms, or any other villain. He absorbed people before Buu by stabbing and drinking them, that was pretty hardcore and they could've made Cell much more memorable by pushing that aesthetic further IMO, rather than turning him into cowardly fish lips followed by Frieza 1.7.EXE
Toriyama originally wanted to do just that, but his editor told him that would be too "scary" so he turned into the derpy frog-lipped man and then Handsome Squidward.
5:18 That's now been change. Bardock(his father) sent him to Earth as he had a feeling Frieza was going to do something, but as Raditz never knew this(and didn't even now Frieza destroyed Vegeta) it makes sense for him to presume this as it was the norm of the Saiyans

My man Krillin is way underrated. Glad someone else sees that.
I love how loyal he is. Even when he’s facing enemies that are more powerful than he can comprehend, he will still stand beside his friends and fight (usually to the death lol)
My sister hates him for some reason, I’ll never get why
Enlightened take. OG DB is where it's at.
And the one with more dirty jokes.
Every time I watch the anime version I tear up
one of the greatest moments in the series i really loved it
"I was defeated by a low class warrior, a child, a midget and an obese man with a sword."
kinda why I liked that fight to be honest...if goku just tied with him I would never care about that fight but up to that moment it was the biggest battle of the series truly as others had to help which we saw briefly vs raditz but only piccolo helped there...the frieza stuff also allows some teamwork but it works caus eit is just one on one again for the fate of the world...not sure how you top that and while the ideas after are interesting they don't really do much with it so the show feels lamer the more it goes on besides the whole goku gohan dynamic which was done well but then immediately thrown aside in the buu arc
"I lost outright."
"Because I know you won't tell anyone, qui"

I forgive you for that I won't forgive you for not mentioning Nappa. And how you claimed Cell had no personality, fucker was charismatic.
The thing with cell is he's the demons of all the fighters and they quite literally have to face their demons, and that's cells character

2. Gohan fills his father's shoes as the strongest fighter
3. The last of the Red Ribbon army is finally vanquished

5. Almost every side character gets a cool moment
6. Vegeta fully redeems himself by fighting Cell in an attempt to avenge his dead son
7. Super Saiyan becomes perfected.

You could watch DBZA and any English dub and details are basically the same and you woild be caught up in the same way
DBZA does Cell Perfect by his ending.
- The plot changed
- Goku became the worlds saviour
- The training intensified
- Death was introduced
- The tone of the manga was more adult
I feel the show become action based when the Red Ribbon Army was introduced
The Buu saga is easily the weakest of the three main arcs. It feels the most, "because fuck it!" out of all of them.
Gohan was fighting with the adult warriors since the Saiyan Saga though.

And I love dragon ball for what it is, a great shonen with awesome fights and powers with iconic characters. But dragon ball is about goku becoming stronger to defeat the villains, naruto is about a boy who wants to become hokage to stop his discrimination. The idea that just because they are both shonen they are the same is just extremely faulty thinking, shonen is a demographic meaning it’s for male teens. Piccolo has a mini arc in the Saiyan Saga and that's it. All of his other development is rushed and forced to go along with whatever roll Toriyama wants Piccolo to take. At least Vegeta still seems like the same person at the end of his character arc.

@Zer0dog Goku vs Vegeta was a great fight
Goku vs Freeza was like every fight before it, but with horrible pacing that drags out all meaning it tried to convey before
Trunks vs Freeza was basically your typical fight where the guy solos powerful villain after the villain either beats everyone or is too strong for others to fight, this was already done better in Goku vs Drum and lacks the creativity and impact of Goku vs Nappa
Gohan vs Cell was carried off of artificial tension and a death that shouldn't even have affected Gohan the way it did, the fight itself drags and consists of either Cell kicking Gohans ass or Gohan kicking Cells ass, there is no variety in what each character does, it looks and feels the same as past fights, this is meant to be fight with barely any fight which focused more on the character's struggles while making the hits that count more impactful which was done better with Goku vs King Piccolo, Gon vs Pitou, and All Might vs All for One
Vegito vs Super Buu also was a dragged out fight with a gag that got less and less funny every time it was used, also the fact Vegito as a concept erased whatever tension was left in the series
Goku and Vegeta vs Kid Buu is the same shit, same choreography, same explosions, same sized beams, drags on forever, and no tension whatsoever, some good stuff happen like Mr. Satan and Vegeta admitting Goku was better (but that entire moment was ruined when he reverted back to his old self in Super)

The manga and kai have much better pacing. The Freeza fight is such a slog in the original anime. Five minutes should not take two hours. Kai fixes all of the pacing issues.
Also kai is trash
The fight It’s 6 hours start to finish
@@ace_wash8363 Freeza v Goku is terribly pased in the original anime, regardless of how fast they were going. The "5 minutes" line works much better in Kai and the manga because, while more than 5 minutes may still be passing, it doesn't feel like a complete chore to get through.

They did another time skip bru like it should have ended

Thank you, damn ppl don't know Cell as well as they think

My mouse instinctively moved over to hover over the dislike button when he said Cell has no personality. you can't be much more wrong .
Kaunte Same, But he made many good points throughout the video and is a fellow DB/OP/HXH fan, so I can do nothing. XD
Gohan is actually stronger than Goku in the first arc.

@@knight-mares but ubb was introduced at the very last episode just to put some kind of excuse for goku to disappear again lol. He starts out almost as this horror story/slasher villian at the start(which is when he has the most personality), but slowly morphs into more of a concept than a true character: He's the culmination of everything Goku(and the Z-fighters) had to surpass up to that point.
"The pace of the series picks up a lot"
I guess you must be talking about the One Piece manga cuz the anime slows down to sludge post time skip.
maybe he skips the filler
Even slower?, i got to around ep 120 or so years ago and just completely stopped as it was as slow as a constipated turd during winter.
The only thing I wish that would have happened was
Ki was known as an earth technique
It would have definitely made the series a lot more interesting seeing as the earthlings had a leg up on all these other people
but then everyone else is a fucking joke
I can’t remember the fan series but it one of them Gohan actually becomes a scholar teaching people about Ki and how to use it. If the spirit bomb against buu was so strong imagine actual ki users combined??
Ki in traditional Chinese belief should exist in all living things. It's just a physical force that move your body, your kick or punch.
Original cell dub, absolutely agree with you. Dbz abridged Cell? Can't be beat, best villain 2018.
Fin Fen wholeheartedly agree

@Jay veeru Z force For me the fucked power scaling in dragon ball super just ruins the whole experience, especially with kale and caulifla,But otherwise it was pretty good ( not as good as z but still good )
Adam Braun gt sucks
nothing will convince me that frieza wasnt the intended finale of the series. the protagonist fulfills a thousand year old prophecy, locked in a duel to the death with the evil emperor of the universe on a dying planet, with BOTH sets of the TITULAR dragonballs being INTEGRAL to the plot? come ON.
on that topic, great video, but one thing you could have touched on more is how the dragonballs really take a back seat after the frieza saga, despite being the TITLE.
@@shiranuiaensland1442
Vegeta and Nappa mentioned becoming
Super Saiyans in the Saiyan Saga, before they went to planet Earth
@@exequielbreton4393 Right, but I don't remember it being established as a prophecy before the Frieza saga. I've even come across someone who said that the original conversation between them was about mixed Saiyans becoming more powerful than pure bloods.
toriyama said it himself that dragonball z was supposed to end at frieza but he was pressured into the android saga because of money. the original stories of dragonball & and dragon ball z are perfect masterpieces and should be seen as the greatest manga ever.

The same Toriyama that's still continuing the franchise today. I'm sure Ridley Scott never envisioned James Cameron's Aliens either.
Rest In Power Super Saiyan Toriyama, their will never be another one like you.
If cell only cries and gets stronger out of nowhere then what is vegetas role in Z?
Cell manipulating vegeta was something frieza would not do nor vegeta nor any other character would...thats why he is special...he has to play games with the characters to actually achieve what he wants...frieza had nothin to achieve...and buu well he is well explained and he was an attempt to leave db from all the seriousness...he is also a tactitian as he creates plans to live at his own plesure
He didn’t lose to goku tho. He took the kamehameha survived and goku was spent spending the rest of the fight on his back lol.
The collective effort was stronger than vageta tho
Have you even watched the fight krillin wanted kill vegata and Goku saved his life.. My God
He only beat Goku by going great ape.
@@codyadams3051 He didn't need to, Goku was completely destroyed after that beam struggle. Vegeta could've come back without transforming and slap Goku to oblivion tbh.
@@Rex13013vegeta got beaten so badly by kaioken times 3 that he was getting overpowered and slapped around by based form goku. Vegeta getting owned caused him to attempt suicide than admit defeat to goku. In vegeta's suicide attempt to destroy the planet goku had to use kaioken times 4 to stop it which hurt goku's body. Even after that vegeta still struggled to kill goku as a great ape which is 10 times multiplier to all stats so vegeta was significantly weakened as well.
@@Inviabledude45 literally all Goku managed to do when Vegeta went Oozaru was run away, almost form a Genki Dama, and then catch Vegeta off guard with an eye-blast. Oh, and give what was left of the Genki Dama to Kuririn, which didn't even kill him still.
Vegeta didn't realise that Kaioken took a toll on your body, and so went Oozaru simply to close the power gap, not knowing that Goku was unable to reach that power again. Not only that, but it's stated that forming the false moon lowered his ki, meaning there was less of it to be multiplied when he went Oozaru.
8:32 "Cell had no personality" Yeah ok 👌
CuriousTrout He does have no personality of his own. As he said, all of Cell's noticeable traits were done by Freeza first.
@@shinji136 There's nothing similiar except they're arrogant. Freeza hates resistance, Cell loves it. Freeza hates games, Cell loves them. Freeza curses his enemies when they unlock new power, Cell refuses to fight them until they do. Freeza blows planets up to prevent the emergence of strong fighters, Cell organizes tournaments so they can all have a shot at him.
@@curioustrout And all those differences are traits Vegeta has. Still not a good thing to basically make a hybrid of Freeza and Vegeta as your main villain. It's just recycling.
@@shinji136 Weird, I remember Vegeta specifically letting someone else do most of the fighting in his arc, which is the opposite of Cell's love for fights 🤔 In fact, Vegeta threw tantrums every time Goku got stronger, again the opposite of Cell.
CuriousTrout Vegeta only let Nappa deal with the small fry due to his pride. Also, I could just as easily say Cell left the Cell juniors to deal with the Z fighters rather than do it himself, and it has the same validity.
Also you're forgetting the tantrums Cell threw when 2nd Grade Vegeta was wrecking him? Or when Super Saiyan 2 Gohan did so too?
Cell is just a mix of Vegeta and Freeza, but without any valid motivations and goals. So recycling with lessened quality.
Krillin was my favorite character as a kid. He was so awesome in Dragonball and the early parts of DBZ before they gave him a hair transplant and abandoned him completely.
Actually, I can give you a character trait from Deborah.
Evil.
Boom. I did it.
Debra
He also genuinely cared for Babidi in his quest to revive Buu, but no one remembers that part...
Except it’s not a trait because it’s his entire fucking character
He was a true story of change of heart, and became a lover
He loves little critters and life. Turns out babidi was a bad influence
Goku going Super Saiyan for the first time is the best moment in television history. Change my mind
Still think gohan transforming into ssj2 for the first time is just cut above the rest
noobslayer135 That was anime’s all time greatest scene !!
Luis Medina SSJ 2 wouldn’t be a thing without Goku’s SSJ
When trunks appears goes super Saiyan and reks Frieda and his dad with a sword , and you’re still wondering who the fuck he is.
Premiere episode of Spongebob Squarepants
Gonna be real, from a design perspective I think Bug Cell was way more intimidating than his later forms, or any other villain.
He absorbed people before Buu by stabbing and drinking them, that was pretty hardcore and they could've made Cell much more memorable by pushing that aesthetic further IMO, rather than turning him into cowardly fish lips followed by Frieza 1.7.EXE
Toriyama originally wanted to do just that, but his editor told him that would be too "scary" so he turned into the derpy frog-lipped man and then Handsome Squidward.

That's now been change. Bardock(his father) sent him to Earth as he had a feeling Frieza was going to do something, but as Raditz never knew this(and didn't even now Frieza destroyed Vegeta) it makes sense for him to presume this as it was the norm of the Saiyans
The retcon is stupid though, and contradicts the original manga.
The Dragonballs retcon the original manga, its just what happens when you have a show spanning decades

I'd love to see Marcus break down the ending. That shit was fire
Yes please. I loved it when it first came out and was surprised people said it sucked. Nowadays i'm happy there are people who do appriciate it for what it is
I agree. This was the peak of DBZ, even though I really like Cell for his design and interactions.
16:39 yeah that's what sucks about being Krillin. Similar characters like munen rider from one punch man also get their asses kicked while going into a fight knowing they have no chance of winning and they're called heroes for it. Krillin gets his ass kicked while going into a fight knowing he has no chance of winning and it gets called weak! WTF!?
That's cuz Krillin doesn't make heroic and valor speeches. Back then anime were more simple.
Yeah that's because everyone nowadays just likes people that fight good and have the strongest forms. Don't get me wrong new transformations and totally bad ass fights are cool, but nothing beats the Saiyan Saga & Frieza Saga where everything is U N I Q U E, as said in this video

Nope. All I'd ever seen as a kid was Kai, and Team Four Star got me more into Dragon Ball and I eventually read the manga and watched the entire series.
While Freeza is one of my favorite villains, and not just in Dragon Ball, I'm glad we're getting more Dragon Ball stuff. For example, the new Broly is more interesting than his old self and I'm interested to see if he'll wind up doing more.
What is the background music you used? It sounds cool.
Personally, I prefer the old, original Broly (not including 2nd coming and BioBroly) because he was the embodiment and epitome of a Saiyan Warrior
First movie broly is much better imo and brutally savage.
R.I.P. Toriyama, and thank you
