RIP Judith. I was a child when these songs were coming out in the 1960s. The Seekers were my favourite group. This week feels like the end of an era.

Imagine coming out in front of a crowd like that under God knows what circumstances and belting out these songs . This is as honest as it gets, and I love it love it love it. Just amazing that this was preserved, as haunting now as it was back in '65. Watching and listening to this video is the happiest thing that has happened to me all week. Thank you!

Amazing performance-The Seekers stood out from the rest of the 60s bands playing only acoustic instruments-they had their own distinctive sound with the fabulous clear crystal voice of Judith Durham!. A big difference between The Seekers and The Beatles- people LISTENED to The Seekers whereas people SCREAMED at The Beatles-they couldn't hear what they were playing-they gave up playing 'live' .Tom Springfield wrote most of The Seekers hits -his sister Dusty was on the same bill great artist too-! By the way The Seekers sounded just as good live in 2014 as they did in the 60s!

They did play electric instruments occasionally. They worked their way from Melbourne to London as a cruise ship band and they had to play stuff in every genre. Here's a link to them playing "Walk, don't run" in a film recreating that voyage and The Seekers turn out to be a pretty good surf music band. ua-cam.com/video/rWfdWg1TRUc/v-deo.html

Wow! Perfectly done. Judith, nor the guys either have never missed a note in their lives. Perfect pitch. Like someone else said, they didn’t have the technology they have today and evidently didn’t need it. You would hear so many groups who had all of this help in the recording studio to make their record sound good. The Beatles for one needed all of these dub overs so they really could make their live performance sound like the record.
The Seekers just sang it live and it was exactly like the studio recording. That is amazing. The only other person and group that could do that was Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge.

0ne thing among many that I like about these guys is that they sound as good live as on their records. Judith is so small and vulnerable, seemingly in need of male protection, but when she sings she knocks it out of the park.

    There's a new world somewhere
    They call the promised land
    And I'll be there someday
If you could hold my hand
I still need you there beside me
    No matter what I do
For I know I'll never find another you
    There is always someone
For each of us, they say
    And you'll be my someone
    Forever and a day
I could search the whole world over
    Until my life is through
But I know I'll never find another you
    It's a long, long journey
    So stay by my side
When I walk through the storm
You'll be my guide, be my guide
If they gave me a fortune
    My pleasure would be small
I could lose it all tomorrow
    And never mind at all
But if I should lose your love, dear
    I don't know what I'd do
For I know I'll never find another you
But if I should lose your love, dear
    I don't know what I'd do
For I know I'll never find another you
    Another you, another you

The Seekers always put on great live performances. Judith had perfect pitch and the harmonies are just sublime. Arguably one of the best live performers of that era. Even the Beatles couldn't pull off many of their recordings live. Their performances on the New Musical Express appearances are really poor.

Thank you for posting. This is from the Prize winners presentation at Wembley Arena on April 1965( The Seekers were elected the Best New Group by a magazine poll). From this five minute presentation you get the feeling that if the Seekers had just more five minutes on stage they would completely conquer that public. From the loudness of applause noticeably increasing from the first to the second performance one can clearly feel that.

Hahaha, many many many ☺. Actually their hits mostly were wrote by Springfield, but as many folk music artists they did covers, sang traditional songs and wrote others by their own, and also there are many great The Seekers songs that were composed and wrote by them. Also they collaborated in the composition of some of their songs with Simon And Garkunfel, more specifically with Paul Simon, another folk music group.

This wonderful clip is from the New Musical Express 1965, where The Seekers show us all just how it's done. Judith's vocals are beautifully vibrant and exciting, and harmonies are rich dispite Keith's faulty mic where his 12-string lead break drops out on ''A World of Our Own'' (one of many tech problems that day). The entire hour and a half concert is posted on youtube with the Beatles, Stones, Animals, Kinks and many others. It puts into context which performers had their act together at this time and The Seeker were there at the top. The many comments warmly reflect their outstanding performance. The talented Georgie Fame, one of the better acts, is highly entertaining as he plays the Hammond and sings while defty pursuing a mic that apparently wants to have very little to do with him...good for a chuckle. Also...listen at the beginning for the chorus of ''cat call whistles''...sweet Judith must have known tongues were dragging!

They sounded as good performing live as they did in the studio and very few groups can do that , they were increadable.

Some may find this comparison a putdown of Judith (it isn't), or may not understand the reference, but I think in this clip you can clearly hear the influence of Kate Smith on Judith's delivery and phrasing. I mean this in only its most complimentary sense - Kate Smith was a fantastic singer.

A truly great performance. They should have asked Ringo or Charlie or Mick Avory or ano to fill in behind them to give a backbeat.

Just read your comment. I’ve always been a very anxious person. I used to listen to these two songs when I was a very young child. Made me feel calmer and happier.

Slight tempo change at the beginning. The intro from Keith's 12 string guitar was less than perfect when it started out. The joys of live performance! I've never been a big fan of stadium performances because the sound quality is often really bad and you can't hear the performers because of screaming audience members and external sounds, but this was good. Good musicians, and Judith's voice is very special.

    Fantastic historic clip
    Judith’s voice at its best
Encapsuled the hope and optimism of the early sixties.
After this group split, music world descended into drug fuelled madness

My two favorite songs by this group.
I don't know his name, but the guy to Judith's right sure can open his mouth wide, and the one on the bass viol (?) at the other end sure looks a lot like Danny Thomas did while they were popular.
