EXCELLENT. I knew Judith many years ago, I was only three or four, but my mothers best friend Ruth was the Aunt of another member of The Seekers. They often rehearsed in a bungalow at the rear of Ruth’s house, and I’d gatecrash😂 They were so talented and Judith had very strong ideas about how she wanted to sound and be presented, and I really admired that my whole life. Omg you’ve covered sooooo much! A lot of people don’t know about her post-Seekers career. This will make so many people cheer. It’s wonderful hearing such positive stuff too. (And I still think the Seekers’ We Are Australian should be our national anthem.) Thank you so much for this beautiful video🤗
@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv you’re an awesome channel. It’s so refreshing when so many videos are superficial and full of click-bait. Your research skills are spot on and I’m here for the duration. Well done!
Judith Durham had an angels voice and harmonized with the group. This angel called back to Heaven. Thank you Judith thank you The Seekers. We need an new georgy girl ❤
I have such fond memories of the seekers and Judith Durum’s voice and I intend having their music played at my funeral as a tribute to them of better days in my life
I wish she had been honoured as Dame Judith Durham. Her early formal training gave great strength to her voice. Her personality was projected in the clarity and warmth of the tones.
I’m so glad we got to see the Seekers in Liverpool a few years ago before her passing. Her voice was absolutely beautiful. There were no videos allowed 😳. But I did one of the Carnival is Over . So glad I did. I play it over and over . RIP beautiful lady with the golden voice. Much missed ❤️
I don´t think there are many that can compete with her voice. As soon as she opened her mouth everyone was silent and wanted to hear her beatiful voice. Her voice was really something else. And of course I loved her as so many did. Rest in peace my love. We were many that loved you.
WHAT A WONDERFUL LIFE, AT THE TIME OF HER PASSING, I DIDN'T REALISE SHE HAD REACHED SUCH A GOOD AGE, BUT IT SEEMED SO SUDDEN, ME NOT KNOWING OF HER PREVIOUS ILLNESS. BUT WAS A FULL LIFE IT WAS, THANK YOU JUDITH, AND THE BOYS FOR EVERYTHING.
I'm 77, and also suffer with Bronchiectasis It's been a life long struggle. I loved the Seekers and Judith's version of Danny Boy brings tears to me eyes. RIP Judith.
She really was my favourite singer when I was just 16 now74 and gave me so much enjoyment in my life. Had a meeting with her at Bournemouth after the concert . May you rest in peace ❤ Thank you so much God Bless You .
Thanks and very well done on this great salute to Judith, and the band. Judith had such a fabulous voice and her songs she wrote are amazing, she will never be forgotten as the voice of one of the best bands of the time and the songs these great performers gave us will stand out for ever. RIP Judith and thanks you for your contribution to music.
I've loved the Seekers since the beginning. Had all the albums. Everybody else liked the Beatles or the Stones. Not me. I loved her voice! I swear I saw them back in the 60's in Orlando FL, but nobody in my family remembers it.
She is such a thrill to listen to and the type of voice we may never hear again!! I had been listening to her often on the ship I was on in Vietnam in 1967-68 because I had her performances on a small reel to reel tape recorder and she made the nights full of hope and positive thoughts. Her and Karen Carpenter were truly gifted and made millions of people happy~!!! Great Job on Her Story and it's very much appreciated~!!
Trying to truck again on the seekers i fell on this devastating news. So, Judy, the angel of my childhood is gone! The sweet elderly lady i met again on utube with the same, untouched by time angel's voice is gone. Τhough outdated, the news made me bitterly cry. For the seekers has not been for me just another group i fancied in my youth. The seekers have been the ones who opened to me the gate to the world of music, the ones who made music my refuge, my consolation, my way out from a hard misery. I often recall those days... Me, a child with a huge sentimental intelligence in a - then very poor - suburb of Athens, Greece, building up a world of my own through music... Actually "a world of our own" was the song i got to know them by. And remained my most beloved one of theirs, though all the rest of their songs were masterpieces. The music, the lyrics... but not only. Their unprecedented, amazing vocals, the solid, strong and at the same time unbelievably sweet voice of Judy. the masterful use of the bass guitar, the sound of the guitars, all these perfectly united and matched created a sound that i have never ever heard elsewhere. It would take a whole book to explain how this group and their songs have had a huge impact on myself, how they have influenced my way to life making me the person i am today. I wish a huge thank you of mine could reach the all!
My son thinks I'm barking mad one minute I'm telling him I was at Knebworth seening Led Zeppelin in 1979 the next I'm saying how wonderful The Seekers are and how I know the words to most of their songs but they were and still are brilliant their songs are uplifting, they make me cry all at the same time. Thank you for that I'm off to ask Alexa to play The Seekers ❤❤❤
Thanks for taking the time to research this properly. There are other 'tributes' for Judith on UA-cam which are not exactly well constructed and with lots of historical anomalies. RIP JD. xx
Oh, wie habe diese herausragend schöne Stimme schon als Teenager geliebt, wenn sie mit den Jungs Georgy Girl, A World Of Our Own oder I`ll Never Find Another You sang. Ihr Tod ist ein großer Verlust.
Judith (Judy to us) was in my class at Fahan school and always played the lead vocalist in the school’s annual productions at the historic .Theatre Royal
I saw an interview in which she spoke of how frightened she was each time she went on stage. “ I thought I was ugly and fat ,” she said. The world thought differently.
That's so sad 😓 The love she has received from the comments in this video alone proves how adored she is worldwide 🥰 She was such a beautiful person inside and out and made so many people happy with her lovely voice ❤
Great quick summation of her life thanks. I have read "Colors of My Life. Her spirt always shown through all the doubts and illness she and her husband suffered through.
The Seekers finding JUDITH was like someone finding a pot of gold worth millions buried in their back yard. It was very benevolent of her to associate with them. But together they did produce a great sound.
while I asked a couple of times, my parents refused to tell me why I was given the names Judith Lea - I surmise it was because Dad was a big The Seekers fan, and he also loved Rocklea Road (made by Darrell Lea)
I remember flying in by helicopter to a car crash she was involved in around 1992 in Kyneton, treating her and flying her to the Alfred hospital. Funnily enough everyone got thanked except our crew. Oh well. 🥴😊
If I have any complaints about this documentary, it would be that one of my favourite Seekers songs wasn't mentioned. "I am Australian".. Otherwise I loved it.
"I Am Australian" by The Seekers was not the original version of the song but was a cover by The Seekers. The original song was released by Bruce Woodley one his 1987 double album "Roaring Days/I Am Australian" with his daughter Claire on supporting vocals.
She had one of the most beautiful voices i have ever heard.
Judith Durham was number one in my 4 most favorite female vocalists. Her, then Karen Carpenter, then Petula Clark and finally Leslie Gore.
Totally agree!

I wish she had been honoured as Dame Judith Durham. Her early formal training gave great strength to her voice. Her personality was projected in the clarity and warmth of the tones.
For sure she should that was a real omission. I saw her in 2003 on her 60th birthday tour and her voice was still sublime and such a warm lady too.
I've tried looking into that, but as far as I can tell Australia does not present this award/title anymore.
The government of Australia forbids Australians from receiving traditional Commonwealth honours. New Zealanders can be decorated.
@@billclarke3773 Dame Joan Sutherland must have made it just in time (not forgetting Dame Edna and Sir Les) 😀

What a wonderfully complete and interesting tribute. Judith achieved so much and gave so much to her fans over so many years. ❤
Thank you so much! I'm thrilled you enjoyed it so much 🥰💯
I always thought she was the most beautiful looking girl on the planet and what a beautiful singer,
The irony being that she was always self-conscious about her looks.
She held onto her beautiful voice right til the end… it never wavered.
Good presentation on a female singer that was great! I loved the Seekers music a lot in the60s.
Thank you so much, I appreciate you 🤗💕
What a beautiful voice.
So many beautiful folk spoke. I only remember her with the Seekers. and that beautiful smile and voice.
